  • The mechanical limited slip differential (LSD) in vehicles is being replaced by the electromagnetic LSD because of its fast response and better active control characteristics. The coil housing made of STS 304 is one of the most important parts in the solenoid assembly of the electromagnetic LSD. High geometrical accuracy is a prerequisite for the manufacture of such coil housings, but precision machining is difficult because of the use of STS 304 thin plate and the variance in machining variables. The aim of this study is to optimize the mean and variance of the shape accuracy in the coil housing by finding a robust solution for the machining process conditions. The mean and standard deviation of the jaw contact pressure, cutting speed, and feed rate are considered to be the major parameters for minimizing the geometrical mean and variance. The response surface model based on the second-order Taylor series is combined together to minimize the mean and variance of the shape accuracy of the coil housing.

NOVEL CNC GRINDING PROCESS CONTROL FOR NANOMETRIC SURFACE ROUGHNESS FOR ASPHERIC SPACE OPTICAL SURFACES (우주망원경용 비구면 반사경 표면조도 향상을 위한 진화형 수치제어 연삭공정 모델)

  • Optics fabrication process for precision space optical parts includes bound abrasive grinding, loose abrasive lapping and polishing. The traditional bound abrasive grinding with bronze bond cupped diamond wheel leaves the machine marks of about $20{mu}m$ rms in height and the subsurface damage of about 1 ${mu}m$ rms in height to be removed by subsequent loose abrasive lapping. We explored an efficient quantitative control of precision CNC grinding. The machining parameters such as grain size, work-piece rotation speed and feed rate were altered while grinding the work-piece surfaces of 20-100 mm in diameter. The input grinding variables and the resulting surface quality data were used to build grinding prediction models using empirical and multi-variable regression analysis. The effectiveness of such grinding prediction models was then examined by running a series of precision CNC grinding operation with a set of controlled input variables and predicted output surface quality indicators. The experiment achieved the predictability down to ${pm}20$ nm in height and the surface roughness down to 36 nm in height. This study contributed to improvement of the process efficiency reaching directly the polishing and figuring process without the need for the loose abrasive lapping stage.

  • Smart Factory consists of digital automation solutions throughout the production process, including design, development, manufacturing and distribution, and it is an intelligent factory that installs IoT in its internal facilities and machines to collect process data in real time and analyze them so that it can control itself. The smart factory's equipment works in a physical combination of numerous hardware, rather than a virtual character being driven by a single object, such as a game. In other words, for a specific common goal, multiple devices must perform individual actions simultaneously. By taking advantage of the smart factory, which can collect process data in real time, if reinforcement learning is used instead of general machine learning, behavior control can be performed without the required training data. However, in the real world, it is impossible to learn more than tens of millions of iterations due to physical wear and time. Thus, this paper uses simulators to develop grid sortation systems focusing on transport facilities, one of the complex environments in smart factory field, and design cooperative multi-agent-based reinforcement learning to demonstrate efficient behavior control.

  • For smart manufacturing, most semiconductor sites utilize automated material handling systems(AMHS). As one of the AMHSs, the OHT control system(OCS) manages overhead hoist transports(OHT) that move along rails installed on the ceiling. This paper proposes a real-time scheduling system to efficiently allocate and control the OHTs in semiconductor logistics processes. The proposed system, as an independent subsystem within the OCS, is interconnected with the main subsystem of the OCS, so that it can be easily modified without the effect of other systems. To develop the system, we first identify the functional requirements of the semiconductor logistics process and classify several types of control scenarios of the OHTs. Next, based on SEMI(Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) standard, we design sequence diagrams and interface messages between the subsystems. The developed system is interoperated with the OCS main subsystem and the database in real time and performs two major roles: 1) OHT dispatching and 2) pathfinding. Six integrated tests were carried out to verify the functions of the developed system. The system was normally operated on six basic scenarios and two exception scenarios and we proved that it is suitable for the mission planning of the OHTs.

Optimum Selection of BWMS type by AHP for BWMS Development (선박평형수 처리장치 개발시 AHP 기법을 이용한 최적 처리방식 선정에 관한 연구)

  • Ballast water in ship operation is essential for a safe voyage. However ballast water can contain unwanted organisms that are the cause of disturbing the ecosystem by the transfer of potential invasive species. To prevent the destruction of the environment, the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sediments(BWM Convention) was adopted in 2004. BWMS (Ballast Water Management System) has been developed to prevent the transportation of organisms to another region in order to fulfill the requirements IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations. Nowadays there are about 50 approved Ballast Water Management Systems of various types globally. The most common BWMS types are UV (Ultra Violet), Electrolysis and Ozone. Among these types there are many difficulties in determining the optimum type of BWMS which can be suitable for the user and designer's requirements. The main objective of this research is to select the best BWMS type by using AHP. To apply AHP, the most important criteria for the BWMS development are derived by users and designers. From our results, we can give a guide BWMS type to the developers of BWMS.

  • 하수관거는 국민의 정맥이라고 할 수 있을 정도로 도시의 환경관리와 치수, 쾌적한 환경조성에 있어서 매우 중요한 시설이며 그 규모가 광범위하고 복잡한 네트워크로 구성되어 있다. 이러한 하수관망을 통해 이송되는 물은 지저분하고 냄새가 심하기 때문에 지하에 관의 형태로 대부분 시공되어 왔으며, 상수관망처럼 압력관이 아니라 대부분 중력에 의한 이송방식을 채택하고 있어 문제 발생 시 원인파악과 대처를 힘들게 하는 요인을 가지고 있다. 특히 하수관거의 관리 소홀은 곧바로 토양오염과 인근 환경오염으로 직결되며 장기적으로는 상수를 오염시키는 요인으로 작용하므로 체계적인 방법과 장기적인 안목을 가지고 명확한 분석을 시행할 수 있는 시스템을 가지고 최적으로 유지관리 되어야 한다. 최근 들어 이러한 하수도 시설을 효율적으로 관리 및 개선하기 위해 대도시를 중심으로 근거 조사와 정비 사업이 활발히 시행되고 있다. 그러나, 사업효과를 검증하거나 관로의 유지관리를 위하여 국내 실정에 맞지 않는 외국하수관망 흐름 해석 프로그램을 그대로 사용하고 있고 정확한 해석이 이루어지지 않고 있어 효율적인 유지관리가 어렵다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 하수관망해석이나 하수관망 정비시 필요한 불명수산정이 가능하고 국내실정에 맞는 프로그램 개발이 시급한 실정이며, 아울러 프로그램을 효율적 운영하고 관리하는 제어관리 기술을 개발, 진행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발된 프로그램의 부정류 해석 기능을 활용하여 대상구역의 해석을 실시하여 기존분석방법의 I/I결과와 비교하였으며 최적관리를 위한 방안을 제시하였다.준편차가 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 상용 CFD모형인 FLOW-3D를 계획 중인 하수처리장의 침전지 유입부 설계에 적용하였으며 저류벽의 위치와 폭, 유공정류벽의 유공율에 따른 유입하수의 분배효과를 분석하였다. 실험을 수행하여 보다 정밀한 공식으로 개선할 수 있었다.$10,924m^3/s$ 및 $10,075m^3/s$로서 실험 I의 $2,757m^3/s$에 비해 통수능이 많이 개선되었음을 알 수 있다.함을 알 수 있다. 상수관로 설계 기준에서는 관로내 수압을 $1.5\~4.0kg/cm^2$으로 나타내고 있는데 $6kg/cm^2$보다 과수압을 나타내는 경우가 $100\%$로 밸브를 개방하였을 때보다 $60\%,\;80\%$ 개방하였을 때가 더 빈번히 발생하고 있으므로 대상지역의 밸브 개폐는 $100\%$ 개방하는 것이 선계기준에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 밸브 개폐에 따른 수압 변화를 모의한 결과 밸브 개폐도를 적절히 유지하여 필요수량의 확보 및 누수방지대책에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.8R(mm)(r^2=0.84)$로 지수적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 유거수량은 토성별로 양토를 1.0으로 기준할 때 사양토가 0.86으로 가장 작았고, 식양토 1.09, 식토 1.15로 평가되어 침투수에 비해 토성별 차이가 크게 나타났다. 이는 토성이 세립질일 수록 유거수의 저항이 작기 때문으로 생각된다. 경사에 따라서는

청색과 녹색 GaN계 LED 및 LD소자를 이용한 자발 발광 시 효율 감소 현상에 대한 연구

  • III-N계 물질로 이루어진 GaN 기반의 광 반도체는 직접 천이형 넓은 밴드갭 구조를 갖고 있기 때문에 적외선부터 가시광선 및 자외선까지를 포함한 폭 넓은 발광파장 조절이 가능하여 조명 및 디스플레이 관련 차세대 광원으로 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 하지만, GaN기반의 발광 다이오드는 많은 연구기관들의 오랜 연구에도 불구하고 고출력을 내는데 있어 여전히 많은 문제들이 존재한다. 그 중, 주입전류 증가에 따른 효율감소 현상은 출력을 저해하는 대표적인 요소로 알려져 있는데, 이전의 연구 결과에서 알려진 효율감소 현상의 원인으로 결정결함에 의한 누설전류, Auger 재결합, 이송자 넘침 현상 그리고 p-n접합부의 온도 상승 등의 현상이 알려져 있다 [1-2]. 하지만 여전히 주입 전류 증가에 따른 효율 감소 현상의 원인에 대해 명확한 해답은 없으며 아직도 많은 논의가 이루어 지고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 GaN기반의 청색 및 녹색 LD와 LED소자를 이용하여 주입전류 밀도의 변화에 따른 자발 발광 영역에서의 효율감소 현상의 원인을 규명하고 한다. 유기금속화학증착법(MOCVD)를 이용하여 c면 사파이어 위에 서로 다른 발광파장을 가지는 InGaN/GaN 다중양자우물구조의 질화물계 LED와 LD 박막을 제작하였으며 성장 구조에 의한 특성으로 인해 발생하는 효율 저하 현상을 방지하고자 InGaN/GaN으로 이루어진 다중양자우물층의 조성만 제어하여 청색과 녹색으로 발광하도록 하였다. 청색 및 녹색 LD 웨이퍼들을 이용하여 주입전류 증가에 따른 발광특성을 조사하기 위해 LD와 LED는 표준 팹 공정에 의해 제작되었다. 전계 발광 측정을 위해 상온에서 직류 전류를 주입하여 GaN계 청색 및 녹색 LED와 LD에 각 5 mA/cm2에서 50 mA/cm2까지 전류밀도를 증가시킴에 따라 LD 및 LED칩 형태에 상관없이 청색 LD와 LED의 파장은 약 465nm에서 약 458nm로 감소하였고 녹색 LD와 LED의 파장은 약 521nm에서 약 511~513 nm까지 단파장화가 발생했다. 이는 동일한 웨이퍼에 동일한 전류 밀도를 주입하였기 때문에 발생하는 것으로 판단된다. 그러나, 청색 LED의 효율은 50 mA/cm2에서 약 70%정도로 감소하고 반면 녹색 LED의 경우 동일한 전류밀도 하에 약 52%정도로 감소하였지만, 청색과 녹색 LD의 경우 동일한 전류 밀도의 범위 내에서 더욱 낮은 효율저하 현상을 나타내었다. 또한, 접합 온도를 측정한 바 청색소자가 녹색 소자에 비하여 낮은 접합 온도를 나타낼 뿐아니라, 청색 및 녹색 LD의 경우 LED 보다 낮은 접합 온도를 나타내고 있었다. 이는 InGaN 활성층의 In 조성이 증가할수록 비발광 센터에 의한 접합온도 상승 뿐 아니라, LD ridge 구조에서 더 많은 열이 방출되어 접합 온도가 감소될 수 있는 것으로 판단된다. 우리는 동일한 웨이퍼에 LED와 LD를 제작하였고, 동일한 전류 주입밀도를 인가하였기 때문에 LD와 LED의 효율 감소 현상의 차이는 이송자 넘침 현상, 결정 결함, 오제 재결합 등이 원인보다 활성층의 접합 온도 상승이 가장 큰 영향이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on Development of Remote Crane Wire Rope Flaws Detection Systems (원격 크레인 와이어 로프 결함 탐지 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Wire ropes are used in a myriad of various industrial applications such as elevator, mine hoist, construction machinery, lift, and suspension bridge. Especially, the wire rope of crane is important component to container transfer. If it happens wire rope failures during the operation, it may lead to safety accident, economic loss by productivity decline and so on. To solve this problem, we developed remote wire rope fault detecting system, and this system is consisted of 3 parts that portable fault detecting part, signal processing part and remote monitoring part. All detected signal has external noise or disturbance according to circumstances. So, we applied to discrete wavelet transform to extract a signal from noisy data. It is verified that the detecting system by de-noising has good efficiency for inspecting faults of wire ropes in service. As a result, by developing this system, container terminal could reduce expense because of extension fo wire ropes exchange period and could competitive power. Also, this system is possible to apply in several field such as elevator, lift and so on.

Development of an Automatic Liquid Feeder for Early Weaned Piglets (조기이유 자돈용 액상사료 자동급이기 개발)

  • This study was conducted to develope an automatic liquid feeder for early weaning piglets and to test the efficacy of the system. The liquid feeder consists of water heating and discharge unit, dry diet storing and discharge unit, mixing and discharge unit, mixed liquid feed-delivering unit, and the central control part which control each unit, feeding frequency and the amount of feeding. For investigating the possibility of practical use, a feeding trial was carried out using eighteen three way crossbred piglets weaned on 19 days of age for the experimental period of six weeks. Experimental diet was provided in liquid form using the automatic liquid feeder for the first three weeks and in dry form for the later three weeks. The water heating and discharge unit exactly supplied warm water by 27 $m\ell$/s, into the mixing unit. The dry diet storing and discharge unit supplied dry feed by 3.7g/s, into the mixing unit. Being compared with the standard growth rate suggested by NRC, average daily gain of the piglets during the first three weeks of liquid feeding was lower by 10%, while it was higher during three weeks of dry feeding and over the whole experimental period by 24 and 17%, respectively. Feed/gain was 1.09, 2.14 and 1.89 for the first 3 weeks, later 3 weeks, and whole period, respectively. Diarrhea was observed for three days from day 3 to day 7 after feeding liquid diet, but no pig died of it. In conclusion, a preliminary test for the newly developed an automatic liquid feeder using 19 days of age weaning piglets showed that the unit was successfully operated without any major problems. Piglets raised on a liquid diet through the unit developed grew less during the first three weeks, but their growth and feed intake were greatly improved thereafter, indicating the developed automatic liquid feeder may be practically used in swine industry.

Measurement of Wax Appearance Temperature Using Image Processing (영상 처리기법을 이용한 오일의 왁스생성온도 측정)

  • When the oil is produced in the low temperature environment, wax can be accumulated in petroleum production system(pipeline, riser) and causes problems such as pipeline stucking, disturbance of the oil production. These problems can be lead to time-consuming and economic losses for flow assurance. For prediction and mitigation of wax deposition, it is necessary to measure the Wax Appearance Temperature(WAT) which is a temperature when the wax crystals start to be formed. WAT standard measurement method of transparent oil has to determine the cloud point of sample to the naked eye and cannot be applied to continuous change of the temperature. In this study, wax behavior of transparent oil samples are recorded depending on temperature using Visualized WAT Measurement System. Also, WATs of transparent oil samples are measured by image processing and compared with the result of the standard method.
