Development of Automatic 3-Axis Pipe Profile-Cutting System with Bevelling of Welds Using PLC (PLC를 이용하여 궤적절단과 동시에 용접부 개선이 가능한 자동 3축 파이프 형상절단 시스템 개발)

  • Joint paths of master and branch pipes are induced mathematically for many kinds of joint patterns between both pipes in 3-axis pipe profile-cutting machines. By compensating them with a kerf width, the real cutting paths are determined, and their CL-data are generated, and the tool paths generated by CL-data are verified by a ghost function. A bevelling of welds is implemented through tilting a cutting torch in the $\beta$-axis direction for 8 sections in the chuck rotation of $\alpha$-axis. A PLC controls simultaneously position and velocity in a real time for $\alpha$, X, $\beta$-axis by loading CL-data generated. We developed the PLC-controlled 3-axis pipe profile-cutting system which can cut a master or branch pipe along the cutting path and simultaneously do a bevelling process.

A CFD Analysis of Flow Velocity at Inlet of a Diesel Particulate Filter according to the Curved Duct Connection Conditions (곡관 연결 조건에 따른 디젤엔진 매연여과장치 입구 유속 분포의 CFD 해석)

  • The now velocity distribution at inlet of diesel Particulate filter (DPF) which is connected to each curved duct was simulated using $STAR-CD^{(R)}$. Three kinds of models which describe the shapes of the curved duct ware used for the CFD simulation. The simulation results were compared with the experimental data of velocity distribution which was obtained using a Pitot tube and 2-D positioning machine. At the $90^{\circ}$ curved connecting condition, the CFD simulation results of flow velocity distribution at inlet of the DPF showed a horse hoop shape shifted from the axial center line of the DPF. The CFD simulation results agree reasonably with those of the experiments.

A Study on New Technique Development for Creep Evaluation of Heat Resistant Steel Weldment (I) (내열강 용접부의 크리프 평가 신기술 개발에 관한 연구(I))

  • It has been reported that the creep characteristics on weldment which is composed of weld metal(W.M), fusion line(F.L), heat-affected zone(HAZ), and base meta(B.M) could be unpredictably changed in severe service conditions such as high temperature and high pressure. However, the studies done on creep damage in power plant components have been mostly conducted on B.M and not the creep properties of the localized microstructures in weldment have been thoroughly investigated yet. In this paper, it is investigated the creep characteristics for three microstructures like coarse-grain HAZ(CGHAZ), W.M, and B.M in X20CrMoV121 steel weldment by the small punch-creep-(SP-Creep) test using miniaturized specimen($10{\times}10{\times}0.5mm$). The W.M microstructure possesses the higher creep resistance and shows lower creep strain rate than the B.M and CGHAZ. In the lower creep load the highest creep strain rate is exhibited in CGHAZ, whereas in the higher creep load the B.M represents the high creep strain rate. The power law correlation for all microstructures exists between creep rate and creep load at $600^{\circ}C$. The values of creep load index (n) based on creep strain rate for B.M, CGHAZ, and W.M are 7.54, 4.23, and 5.06, respectively and CGHAZ which shows coarse grains owing to high welding heat has the lowest creep loade index. In all creep loads, the creep life for W.M shows the highest value.

  • It needs to Prevent damage as aging shotcrete itself exists as a dangerous component to comuting vehicles or infrastructure due to scaling, spaling, and loosening. However, it is hard to make an approach owing to a steep slope and high work, and there has been indicated a limit that it is difficult to grasp the internal condition of shotcrete on the surface. This study aimed to research internal defects that cannot be observed from the surface, by measuring a subtle thermal transfer on the shotcrete surface by using infrared thermography for overcoming such a technical limit. As a result of conducting an inspection through an analysis on measured data and fieldwork using an endoscope camera, it was impossible to accurately determine the wet part because of an excessive coating of shotcrete, yet, This study is proposed effictively extract a void part of the inside with non-destructive and non-touching method.

  • Since the engineering plastics having a melting point of higher than 300 degrees have a high mechanical rigidity, chemical resistance, friction and abrasion performance, those are being highlighted as metal replacement materials in various industries. In this study, 3D printer nozzle with excellent heat dissipation characteristics are designed and analytically verified to form engineering plastics with high melting points in 3D printers based on the melt-lamination modeling method. In order to insulate between the heat block heated to a melting point of filament material and the upper part of the nozzle where the filament is transferred, the heat brake part with low thermal conductivity was designed to have two separate parts, and a cooling fin structure is further applied to the heat brake part to lower steady-state temperature by air convection. Optimized structural design on FDM nozzle part reduces the temperature at the heat sink and at the end part of heat brake by 50% and 14% respectively, compared to the conventional BCnozzle structure.

  • Foreign body in the trachea & bronchus is considered as one of the frequently observed accidental cases in the field of E.N.T. and many cases & analysis of them are reported by many authors. We have, recently, experienced three cases of the foreign bodies in the trachea & bronchus and removed successfully through bronchoscopy under general anesthesia. Case A : a kind of plastic reed (2.2CM$\times$0.8CM$\times$0.8CM) was removed from the carina of trachea of a 7 year old female. Case B: a nail (4.9CM$\times$0.3CM$\times$0.3CM) was removed from the right main bronchus of a 2 year old male. Case C : a kind of plastic reed (2.0CM$\times$0.8CM$\times$0.8CM) was removed from the right main bronchus of a 7 year old female.

  • A concentration meter is widely used at purification plants, sewage treatment plants and waste water treatment plants to sort and transfer high concentration sludge and to control the amount of chemical input. This study has been prepared for improving efficiency of operation on sludge processes and to establish a basic for factory automation by accuracy improvement and problem solution of sludge concentration meter. The concentration meter's accuracy and stability is improved by applying multi-beam sensors and minimum deviation linear average filtering. Furthermore maintenance without cut-off of water in sludge operation is possible by detachable sensors. The performance of multi-beam concentration meter has been variously verified by the pilot plant experiment.

  • 본 연구는 수체 내 오염물질을 직접적으로 처리할 수 있는 친자연형 소재와 생물을 통한 처리의 다양한 기술 및 공법 중 식생을 이용한 수질의 정화효율에 대해 조사 하였다. 사용된 식생은 환경부 '하천식물자료집'을 바탕으로 수질정화능력이 있고 다년생으로 안정적인 생육특성을 갖는 식생으로 노랑꽃창포, 부들, 수크령, 질경이택사, 창포를 선정하여 약 13 L 크기의 원통형 반응조내에서 실험을 진행하였다. 선별된 식생들은 물가에 서식하는 식물로 15 cm 마사토를 식재 기반으로 하여 반침수 조건으로 실험을 진행하였다. 유입수는 경기도 용인시 기흥구에 위치한 기흥저수지 샘플과 경기도 화성시에 위치한 황구지천 샘플 혼합액 7 L를 주입하여 유입수 대비 유출수의 COD, T-N, T-P에 대한 저감 효율을 검토하였다. 노랑꽃 창포와 창포의 경우 침수된 부분에 플럭이 발생하여 투명도가 낮은 것으로 확인되었고, 수크령과 질경이택사의 경우 노랑꽃 창포와 창포에 비해 플럭의 발생은 적었지만 투명도는 비교적 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 부들은 다른 식생에 비해 성장이 왕성한 것을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 수체의 탁도 또한 매우 낮아 투명한 것으로 확인되었다. 실험 종료 시점에는 창포의 경우 수체 내에서 잎 자체가 분해되어 식재기반 상부가 검정색으로 혐기화 된 것으로 나타났고, 부들의 경우 플럭이 약간 형성되었으나 투명도가 좋고 성장이 왕성한 특징을 나타내었다. 부들의 경우 COD, T-P의 평균 제거효율이 각각 47.1%, 46.0%로 조사되었고, 노랑꽃창포의 경우 T-N의 평균 제거효율이 63.9%로 선별 된 식생 중 가장 높게 조사되었다. 따라서 수질정화를 위한 공법으로는 부들과 노랑꽃창포가 적용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 수력발전 사업에 있어 Desander 구조물은 주로 고산지대 수력발전댐의 Run-of-river 형식의 발전방식에서 유사로 인한 터빈의 손상을 방지하기 위한 목적으로 설치된다. Desander의 적정 규모는 터빈의 손상을 일으킬 수 있는 유사 입경에 대해 안정적으로 침전을 시킬 수 있는 폭/길이/깊이로 평가할 수 있으며 상대적으로 Desander의 규모가 크게 설계된 경우 초기 공사비 증가하고 반대로 규모가 작게 설계된 경우 터빈의 교체 주기 단축으로 인한 유지관리비가 증가된다. 현재까지 일반적인 Desander 구조물의 설계 방식은 제거 입경의 침전 속도, 유입유량 및 깊이를 변수로 사용하여 경험식(L. Sudry method, Guicciardis method 및 Rouse method)을 통해 규모를 결정해 왔다. 하지만, 3-D 전산유체해석을 통해 유속 흐름 분석으로 직 간접적 Desander 규모의 적정성을 평가할 수 있는 현 시점에서 경험식으로부터 도출된 결과의 신뢰성과 객관성을 검증할 필요가 있다고 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 노르웨이 NSTU에서 개발한 유사의 이송 및 확산해석 기능이 내장된 범용 소프트웨어인 SSIIM을 이용하였다. SSIIM(Simulation of Sediment movements In water Intakes with Multiblock)은 개수로 흐름 상태에서 유사 이동 및 하상 변동을 분석할 수 있도록 개발된 3-D 해석 프로그램이다. SSIIM은 수치해석 방법으로 유한체적법(Finite Volume Method)를 채택하였으며 Navier-Stokes equations을 통해 유체의 흐름을 해석한다. 입력 자료는 유입 유량($m^3/sec$), 유입 유사량(kg/sec), 유출부 수위 및 해당 Desander Structure grid 자료가 사용되며 해석 결과로 Desander 내 grid 별 유속, 수위, 유사 농도 변화 등을 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 SSIIM을 이용하여 제거 목표 유사 입경의 차집 효율(Trap efficiency)로 Desander의 적정 규모를 평가 할 수 있는 설계법을 제안하며 설계 단계에서 결정되는 최소 제거유사 입자와 차집 효율에 의한 Desander의 적정 규모 평가 분석을 파키스탄 A 프로젝트를 대상으로 수행하였다. 연구 성과로 (1)SSIIM을 통해 해석된 차집 효율을 기초로 Desander의 적정 규모를 계획할 경우 경험적 방식에 비해 설계의 객관성과 신뢰성을 제고할 수 있으며 (2)3-D 수치해석을 통해 grid 별 유사농도를 확인 할 수 있어 Desander 형상과 규모에 대한 평가가 가능하다.

A Study on the Development of a Failure Simulation Database for Condition Based Maintenance of Marine Engine System Auxiliary Equipment (선박 기관시스템 보조기기의 상태기반 고장진단/예측을 위한 고장 모사 데이터베이스 구축)

  • This study is to develop database by an experimental method for the development of condition based maintenance for auxiliary equipment in marine engine systems. Existing ships have been performing regular maintenance, so the actual measurement data development is very incomplete. Therefore, it is best to develop a database on land tests. In this paper, a database developed by an experimental method is presented. First, failure case analysis and reliability analysis were performed to select a failure mode. For the failure simulation test, a test bed for land testing was developed. The failure simulation test was performed based on the failure simulation scenario in which the failure simulation test plan was defined. A 1.5TB failure simulation database has been developed, and it is expected to serve as a basis for ship failure diagnosis and prediction algorithm model development.
