Effects of Pre-Oxidation for Recirculation of Aquaculture Wastewater (양어용수 재이용을 위한 전 산화처리의 효과)

  • Ozonation and advanced oxidation($H_2O_2/O_3$) process were investigated under various experimental conditions to improve the efficiency of biological filter used for the treatment of recycled wastewater from aquaculture. Ammonia removal followed the first-order reaction whose reaction rate constant(k) was $2.0{\times}10^{-2}min^{-1}$ in ozonation. The ammonia removal rate increased according as the bicarbonate alkalinity is increased. About 46% $NH_3$ was oxidized by ozone at 200 mg/L as $CaCO_3$. When alkalinity existed in wastewater, ammonia removal rate by advanced oxidation was very low due to the inhibition effect of bicarbonate. However, when initial pH was adjusted to about 8.2 by 0.1 N KOH, ammonia removal rate was improved higher than that by ozonation. Especially. ammonia removal rate was the highest at $H_2O_2/O_3$ of 0.25 and about 90% of ammonia was removed in 30 min at this ratio as pH was maintained over 9. In the case of wastewater containing ammonia and organic constituents, ammonia removal efficiency by both ozonation and advanced oxidation decreased seriously because organic constituents consumed the oxidant faster than ammonia. In addition the optimal $H_2O_2/O_3$ ratio was changed. Like ammonia removal, DOC(dissolved organic carbon) increased for first 10 min and then decreased slowly because the particulate organic constituents were oxidized rapidly and then produce DOC. Even when the ammonia concentration by twice, oxidation of DOC was not retarded.

A Mechanism for the Hydroperoxide Decomposition in a Soybean oil during Thermal Oxidation (가열산화중인 콩기름에서의 하이드로퍼로키사이드(hydroperoxide)의 분해기구)

  • In the present study, a tentative mechanism for the decomposition of the hydroperoxide formed during the thermal oxidation of an edible soybean oil was proposed. The soybean oil was thermally oxidized at $120^{\circ}C$ for 7 hrs with air injection at a rate of 120 ml/min. Through kinetic studies of the decomposition process based on the tentative mechanism and the actual experimental data obtained from the hydroperoxide decomposition at 100, 120, 150 and $180^{\circ}C$, it was found that the reaction order of the hydroperoxide decomposition in these conditions was of first order. It was also estimated that the dissociation energy for the hydroperoxide in the same conditions was 15.876 kcal/g. mol.

Effects of Roasting Process and Antioxidants on Oxidative Stability of Perilla Oils (볶음공정과 산화방지제가 들기름의 산화안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of different concentrations of ${\alpha}-tocopherol,\;{\delta}-tocopherol$, BHA, BHT and TBHQ on the oxidative stability of perilla oils undergoing autoxidation during storage at $50^{\circ}C$ were studied. ${\alpha}-\;and,\;{\delta}-tocopherols$ were added as concentrations of 100, 200, 300 and 400 ppm to the perilla oils from the unroasted seeds or the roasted seeds at $190^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. BHA, BHT and TBHQ were also added to the perilla oils described above as concentrations of 50, 100, 150 and 200 ppm, respectively. The oxidative stability of perilla oils was estimated by the antioxidative index (AI: the induction periods of oils with antioxidants/the induction periods of oils without antioxidants) on the basis of the peroxide values. The roasted perilla seed oil was more stable than the unroasted seed oil in autoxidation. The addition of ${\alpha}-\;and,\;{\delta}-tocopherols$ accelerated the autoxidation of perilla oils. BHA did not show antioxidant effects, but BHT showed very weak antioxidant effects. The autoxidation of perilla oils, however, was effectively prevented by the addition of TBHQ. TBHQ showed activity in preventing 5 times on the autoxidation of perilla oils. Therefore, the oxidation stability of perilla oils seemed to be depend both on the roasting process and the kind of antioxidants.

Applicable Properties of Electrolyzed Acid-Water as Cleaning Water (세정수로서의 전해산화수 적용 특성)

  • To enlarge application field of electrolyzed acid-water(EAW) on food industry, the changes of EAW properties by storage conditions and heating were investigatet. It was showed that storing EAW in closed container is mon effective to keep up the oxidation-reduction potentials(ORP), hyperchloride content and pH than stored in opened ones. ORP of EAW stored in closed container could be kept mon than 1 month as 1,150 mV levels. Ruing heating from 2$0^{\circ}C$ to 95$^{\circ}C$, ORP was increased to 1,150 mV levels at 95$^{\circ}C$ after gradual decrease to 5$0^{\circ}C$. Tyrosinase activity was decreased approximately to 26%~35% in EAW having a 950 mV~1,140 mV ORP. Also it was confirmed that EAW has anti-browning effect as sliced apple and potato, and their juices treated with EAW had conspicous difference in their $\Delta$E value. 12 kinds of pesticides such as aldrine, capful diazinon, diedrin, $\alpha$-endosulfan $\beta$-endosulfan, endosulfan sulfate, endrin, $\alpha$-BHC, o,p'-DDT, procymidone, PCNB added in EAW were recovered from ND~73.6% comparing to ones added in distilled water. The recovered amounts of pesticides, procymidone and diazinon in lettuce after soaking in EAW were 1.12 ppm and ND, compared with those of amounts soaked in distilled water were 3.67 ppm and 3.05 ppm respectively. So, it seems that EAW has potentials to promote the degradation of pesticides.

AgNW를 활용한 유연 투명히터 적용 연구

  • 투명히터는 자동차유리 및 헤드램프의 성에 제거, 건축의 단열 및 난방, 의료용, 군사용 등 다양하게 사용되어지고 있으며, 더 나아가 플렉서블하고 웨어러블한 투명히터가 연구되고 있다. 투명히터에 사용되고 있는 대표적 투명전극인 Indium Tin Oxide (ITO)는 높은 투과도와 낮은 면저항을 가지지만 유연성이 좋지 않아 유연한 투명히터에 적용하기에는 어려움이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해서 ITO를 대체할 수 있는 CNT, Graphene, AgNW, 전도성 고분자 등의 투명전극에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 CNT, Grapene, 전도성 고분자는 여전히 전기적 특성이 좋지 못하기 때문에 차세대 투명전극으로 사용되기는 어려움이 있다. 반면에 AgNW는 용액공정으로 제조 단가가 비교적 저렴하며, 높은 전기전도 특성을 가지는 투명전극이다. AgNW는 나노와이어가 네트워크를 형성하고 있어 높은 전도성과 광 투과도를 가지지만 $200^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서 손상된다. 이를 해결하기 위해 AgNW전극에 금속 산화막을 형성하여 내열성을 향상시키고자 하였다. 그러나 기존의 Reactive Sputter 방식으로 금속 산화막을 형성하게 되면 산소 분위기에서 AgNW가 산화되기 때문에 본 연구에서는 AgNW위에 금속 박막을 증착하고 Ion Beam 처리를 통해서 금속 산화막을 형성하여 AgNW 전극과 유사한 투과도와 저항을 가지면서 $300^{\circ}C$ 까지 열적 안정성을 확보하여 내열성을 향상시켰다. 유연한 PES기판 위에 스핀 코팅 방법으로 AgNW를 코팅하였고, Magnetron Sputter로 금속 박막을 형성한 후 Ion Beam 처리를 통해 금속 산화막을 형성하였다. 이를 적용하여 투명히터를 제작한 결과 유연 기판상 투명히터로 활용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • An experimental research on the preparation of zinc oxide fine particles in w/o emulsions was conducted. Precipitation solutions were zinc nitrate aqueous solutions with hexamethylenetetramine(HMTA) as precipitant. The precipitation solutions formed stable w/o emulsions with kerosine in the presence of Span 80. Homogeneous precipitation reaction occurred in the w/o emulsion after the resultant w/o emulsion was heated above the decomposition temperature of HMTA and zinc oxide particles were precipitated. In some case, zinc oxide particles of bi-modal distribution were obtained. However, zinc oxide fine particles of narrow particle size distribution could be obtained, even when the initial zinc concentration of precipitation solution and the conversion to zinc oxide are both higher that those in bulk homogeneous precipitation.

  • 이번 연구의 목적은 순수 타이타늄의 표면을 양극산화법으로 표면처리하여 표면의 특성변화를 연구하고, 이에 따른 세포부착 특성의 차이를 연구하는 것이다. 원반 모양의 타이타늄을 전해질용액에서 300V - 550V의 전압을 주어 양극산화 하고 표면특성을 관찰한 결과, 전압이 높아짐에 따라 표면의 분화구 크기가 커지는 양상을 보였으며 아울러 표면 거칠기도 증가되었다. 세포 부착 실험결과 전압이 증가함에 따라 세포부착 및 증식세포수는 감소하였다. 300V 이상의 양극산화 전압은 표면의 거칠기는 증가시키지만 세포증식은 오히려 억제되는 것이 관찰되었다.

  • 현재 정부는 친환경녹색성장을 모티브로 환경기준을 강화하고 있으며, 오염 발생원을 최소화 하고자 현재 가동중인 환경기초시설을 대상으로 고도산화공정을 추가하여 오염 배출량을 최소화 하도록 정부와 지자체가 독려하고 있는 중이다. 따라서 대표적인 환경오염 업종인 섬유/염색 관련업체는 강화되는 환경기준을 만족하기 위한 공정검토가 불가피한 현실이다. 특히 대구 OO염색공단은 염색업체가 집적되어 있어 난분해성 오염물질과 색도유발물질이 다량 발생되고 있으며, 폐수처리장에서 운영 중인 재래식 폐수처리공정으로는 강화되는 방류수 수질기준을 충족할 수 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 방류수 수질기준을 만족하기 위한 고도산화 공정을 검토하였으며, 그 공정의 최적인자를 도출하고자 하였다. 고도산화 공정에서 오존산화, Peroxone AOP, Fenton oxidation 공정을 검토하였으며, 강화되는 수질기준을 만족할 수 있는 최적인자 및 처리효율을 검토하였다. 그 결과 조건에 따라 COD, T-N, T-P, 색도 등에서 처리효율은 40 ~ 90% 범위로 경제성을 고려하여 최적의 운전조건을 도출 하였다.

Gas Chromatography를 이용한 식물성 유지의 지방산의 정량 정성 및 산화안전성 평가

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 우리나라에서 식용으로 많이 쓰이는 식물성 유지인 콩기름, 올리브유, 고추씨기름을 Gas Chromatography를 이용해 각 유지별 지방산의 정성, 정량하였으며 이들 유지의 산화 안정성 평가를 위하여 산화적 반응의 기작의 생성물인 휘발성 분해 산물인 Pentanal 생성을 비교하여 분석하였다. 1. Soybean oil의 지방산 조성은 불포화 지방산은 87.79%, 포화지방산은 12.21%를 차지했으며 Olive oil의 지방산 조성은 불포화 지방산은 82.77%, 포화지방산은 17.23%를 차지했다. Hot pepper oil의 지방산 조성은 불포화 지방산은 85.42%, 포화지방산은 14.58%를 차지했다. 2. 콩기름, 올리브기름, 고추씨기름의 pentane의 함량은 43.4, 30.4, 19.7nL로 측정되었다. 따라서 고추씨기름이 다른 유지에 비해 산화에 대하여 안정함을 알 수 있다. 이상의 결과로부터 실험에 선택된 콩기름, 올리브유, 고추씨기름에는 포화 지방산보다 불포화 지방산의 함량이 많은 것을 알 수 있었고, 특히 체내에서 합성이 불가능해 식품으로 섭취해야만 하는 필수 지방산의 함량이 높아 체내 생체 활동에 유용한 것으로 판단되었다. 산패도 비교 평가에서는 hot pepper seed oil이 olive oil이나 soybean oil보다 낮은 산패도를 나타내어 다른 유지보다 산화 안정성이 뛰어난 것으로 나타났다.

Electrical Conductivity Studies of Ethanol Oxidation over Zinc Oxide (전기전도도 측정에 의한 ZnO 상의 에탄올 산화반응 연구)

  • Changes in the electrical conductivity of gallium doped zinc oxide during the dehydrogenative oxidation of ethanol between 250 and $350^{\circ}C$ have been studied. Both dehydrogenation and dehydration of ethanol takes place on ZnO. At $300^{\circ}C$ and above formation of $CO_2$ was observed accompanied by an increase in the electrical conductivity. This seems to be due to oxidation of CO formed by the decomposition of acetaldehyde. Addition of oxygen to ethanol increases the amount of acetaldehyde formed, while no change is observed in ethylene formation. It may be that oxygen which is present primarily as $O^-$ provides a favorable site for the adsorption of ethanol and for subsequent hydrogen substraction.
