Color Laser Printer Forensics Algorithm through Analyzing Noise Characteristics Co-occurrence (인쇄기기별 노이즈 특성의 빈도 분석을 통한 컬러 레이저프린터 판별 알고리즘)

  • 고성능의 보급형 디지털 영상장비와 레이저프린터의 보급으로 인해 인쇄물의 불법적인 위변조가 사회적 문제로 대두되고 있고, 관련 범죄 또한 증가하는 추세이다. 이에 따라 디지털 포렌식 기술에 기반한 촬영 및 인쇄기기 식별 기술들이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인쇄기기별 특성에서 기인하는 인쇄물의 노이즈 특성을 이용해 인쇄기기를 판별하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이산 웨이블릿 변환과 위너 필터를 이용한 노이즈 특성 추출 방법을 설명하고, 추출된 노이즈 특성에서 명암도 동시발생 행렬을 계산하고 왜도, 첨도, 공분산, 상관계수의 특징을 추출하였다. 추출한 특징을 서포트 벡터 머신에 적용하여 디지털 인쇄기기의 제조사와 모델을 판별하였다. 제안한 알고리즘의 성능을 분석하기 위하여 7대 프린터에서 각 371장씩 출력된 총 2,597장 이미지로 실험하였고, 제안한 알고리즘이 기존 방법에 비하여 높은 정확률을 나타냄을 보였다.

  • 본 논문은 저전력이고 속도가 빠르면서도 작은 gate 면적만으로 JPEG2000 표준의 이산 웨이블릿 변환 (DWT)을 수행하는 VLSI 구조를 제안하였다. 제안한 구조는 line-based 와 convolution 방식을 사용하여 설계하였다. DWT 필터는 1 차원 구조로서 영상의 수평방향이나 수직방향을 차례대로 처리하였고, 16-비트 고정 소수점 형식의 Daubechies 9/7 필터 계수를 사용하였다. 기존의 DWT VLSI 설계에서 매우 큰 영역을 차지하는 multiplier 들을 shift-adder 들로 대체하여 기존 방식의 gate 사용 면적을 38.5% 로 크게 줄일 수 있었다. 또한 최대 지연시간과 총 소비전력은 각각 기존에 비해 78% 와 29.6% 로 개선되었다.

  • To alleviate the size and bandwidth requirement in JPEG2000 system, a new Embedded Compression(EC) algorithm with minor image quality drop is proposed. For both random accessibility and low latency, very simple and efficient hadamard transform based compression algorithm is devised. We reduced LL intermediate memory and code-block memory to about half size and achieved significant memory bandwidth reductions(about 52~73%) through proposed multi-mode algorithms, without requiring any modification in JPEG2000 standard algorithm.

  • This paper introduces the analysis and development of digital holographic data codec technology to effectively compress hologram data. First, the generation method and data characteristics of the hologram standard data set provided by JPEG Pleno are introduced. We analyze energy compaction according to hologram generation method using discrete wavelet transform and discrete cosine transform. The quantization efficiency according to the hologram generation method is analyzed by applying uniform quantization and non-uniform quantization. We propose a transformation method quantization method suitable for hologram generation method through transform and quantization experiments. Finally, holograms are compressed using standard compression codecs such as JPEG, JPEG2000, AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265 and the results are analyzed.

Coherent Structure Extraction from 3-Dimensional Isotropic Turbulence Velocity Field Using Discrete Wavelet Transform (이산 Wavelet 변환을 이용한 3차원 등방성 난류속도장의응집구조 추출)

  • In this study we decompose the 3-dimensional velocity field of isotropic turbulent flow into the coherent and the incoherent structure using the discrete wavelet. It is shown that the coherent structure, 3% wavelet modes, has 98% energy and 88% enstrophy and its statistical characteristics are almost same as the original turbulence structure. And it is confirmed that the role of the coherent structure is that it produces the turbulent kinetic energy at the inertia range then transfers energy to the dissipation range. The incoherent structure, with residual wavelet modes, is uncorrelated and has the Gaussian probability density function but it dissipates the kinetic energy in dissipation range. On the procedure, we propose a new but easy way to get the threshold by applying the energy partition percentage concept about coherent structure. The vorticity field extracted from the wavelet-decomposed velocity field has the same structure as the result of the precedent studies which decomposed vorticity field directly using wavelet. Therefore it has been shown that velocity and vorticity field are on the interactive condition.

  • In In this paper, we proposed a new JPEG2000 codec using multiresolution-based rendering (MRBR) technique for video compression of 3-dimensional digital cinema. We introduced discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for stereoscopic image and stereo matching technique in the wavelet domain. The disparity was extracted using stereo matching and transmitted with the reference (left) image. Since the generated right image was degraded by the occlusion lesion, the residual image which is generated from difference between the original right image and the generated one was transmitted at the same tine. The disparity data was extracted using the dynamic programming method in the disparity domain. There is high correlation between the higher and lower subbands. Therefore we decreased the calculation amount and enhanced accuracy by restricting the search window and applying the disparity information generated from higher subband.

  • Digital holography interference pattern generated by a computer calculation (CGH) is one of the most expensive contents and its usage is being expanded. Thus, it is highly necessary to protect the ownership of digital hologram. In this paper a hologram-domain and a frequency-domain electronic watermarking schemes were proposed. The hologram-domain scheme was only to compare the results to the ones from frequency-domain scheme and the frequence-domain scheme used 2-dimensional against the attaks. Especially the MDWT-domain scheme was very high robustness such that th error ratio at the worst case was only 3%. Thus, we expect that it is used as a good watermarking scheme of digital hologram with high performance.

  • In this paper, we proposed a real-time watermarking algorithm to be combined and to work with a DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform)-based image compressor. To reduce the amount of computation in selecting the watermarking positions, the proposed algorithm uses a pre-established look-up table for critical values, which was established statistically by computing the correlation according to the energy values of the corresponding wavelet coefficients. That is, watermark is embedded into the coefficients whose values are greater than the critical value in the look-up table which is searched on the basis of the energy values of the corresponding level-1 subband coefficients. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can operate in a real-time because the watermarking process operates in parallel with the compression procession without affecting the operation of the image compression. Also it improved the property of losing the watermark and the efficiency of image compression by watermark inserting, which results from the quantization and Huffman-Coding during the image compression. Visual recognizable patterns such as binary image were used as a watermark The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm satisfied the properties of robustness and imperceptibility that are the major conditions of watermarking.

  • This paper presents a spliced color image detection method using Benford' Law and color difference. For a suspicious image, after color conversion, the discrete wavelet transform and the discrete cosine transform are performed. We extract the difference between the ideal Benford distribution and the empirical Benford distribution of the suspicious image as features. The difference between Benford distributions for each color component were also used as features. Our method shows superior splicing detection performance using only 13 features. After training the extracted feature vector using SVM classifier, we determine whether the presence of the image splicing forgery. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods with smaller number of features in terms of splicing detection accuracy.

  • When a higher-order modulation scheme (16QAM or 64QAM) is applied to the communications system using the nonlinear high power amplifier (HPA), the performance can be degraded by the nonlinear distortion of the HPA. The nonlinear distortion can be compensated by the adaptive nonlinear Volterra equalizer using the low-complexity LMS algorithm at the receiver. However, the LMS algorithm shows very slow convergence performance. So, in this paper, the parallel M-band discrete wavelet transformed LMS algorithm is proposed in order to improve the convergence speed. Throughout the computer simulations, it is shown that the convergence performance of the proposed method is superior to that of the conventional time-domain and transform-domain LMS algorithms.
