Determination of an Test Condition for IR Thermography to Inspect a Wall-Thinning Defect in Nuclear Piping Components (원전 배관 감육 결함 검사를 위한 IR 열화상시험 조건 결정)

  • This study conducted infrared (IR) thermography tests using pipe and plate specimens with artificial wall-thinning defects to find an optimal condition for IR thermography test on the wall-thinned nuclear piping components. In the experiment halogen lamp was used to heat the specimens. The distance between the specimen and the lamp and the intensity of halogen lamp were regarded as experimental parameter. When the distance was set to 1~2 m and the lamp intensity was above 60 % of full power, a single scanning of IR thermography detected all artificial wall-thinning defects, whose minimum dimension was $2{\Theta}=90^{\circ}$, d/t=0.5, and $L/D_o=0.25$, within the pipe of 500 mm in length. Regardless of the distance between the specimen and the lamp, the image of wall-thinning defect in IR thermography became distinctive as the intensity of halogen lamp increased. The detectability of IR thermography was similar for both plate and pipe specimens, but the optimal test condition for IR thermography depended on the type of specimen.

A Quantitative and Qualitative Study on Virtual Makeup of Instant Beautifying Application - Focus on Color and Shape (화장품 앱에서 가상 메이크업 템플릿과 메이크업 룩과의 관계에 관한 연구)

  • Inspired by the increasing popularity of cosmetic-related mobile application as a tool for instant beautification, the present study examined colors of virtual makeup templates and makeup looks. A survey study was performed by thirty-six respondents to determine the top three desirable virtual makeup templates among nineteen templates. The templates of 'Bella', 'Hilary' and 'Cara' were then analyzed by makeup specialists and color experts for the evaluation of their makeup design and colors. Each color feature of three makeup templates were also evaluated through statistical analysis of ANOVA on the measure of $L^*a^*b^*$ crossed with five types of face elements on three types of virtual makeup images. Overall results indicate that Korean female users in their 20s and 30s preferred a similar makeup concept appeared in makeup template and key worlds. They also preferred a pale skin tone with higher lightness and a slightly higher saturated lip color as an emphasis than other features.

Development of Open Clinical Training Program to Improve Radiology-Major Students' Clinical Competency (방사선(학)과 재학생의 임상적응 향상을 위한 개방형 임상실습 프로그램의 제안)

  • This study aimed to develop an open clinical training program to improve radiology graduates' clinical competency in the hospital setting to raise quality of patient-centered medical service. Development of the training program is similar to that of an instructional system design model. The program was developed according to the ADDIE model. Elements of each phase were collected. Draft of the program was constructed from literature review and clinical demands. Preliminary training program was implemented to sample students with the draft. After consultation with related professionals, the program was modified and completed. Professional groups assessed content validity of the program. Five continuous phases of the program - analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation - accommodate changes in clinical environment and demands. They also provide adequate learning needs. Effectiveness of the program and appropriateness of contents in each phase achieved a satisfactory level of significance. This program reflected demands from medical fields and effective learning programs. The purpose of the open clinical training program is to train radiological technologists in clinical setting to actively engage in patient-centered medical service and to help utilize their professional knowledge.

  • In order to create an intelligent autonomous agent in virtual world, we need a sophisticated design for perception, recognition, judgement and behavior. We develop the perception and recognition functions for such an autonomous agent. Our perception mechanism identifies lines based on differences in color, the primitive visible data, and exploits those lines to grasp shapes and regions in the scene. We develop an inferencing algorithm that can infer the original shape from a damaged or partially hidden shape using its characteristics from the ontology in order to intelligently recognize the perceived shape. Several individually recognized 2D shapes and their spatial relations form 3D shapes and those 3D shapes in turn constitute a scene. Each 3D shape occupies its respective region, and an agent analyzes the associated objects and relevant scenes to recognize things and phenomena. We also develop a mechanism by which an agent uses this recognition function to accumulate and use her knowledge on the scene in the historical context. We implement these functions presented above against an example situation to demonstrate their sophistication and realism.

Development of Fashion Design Recommender System using Textile based Collaborative Filtering Personalization Technique (Textile 기반의 협력적 필터링 개인화 기술을 이용한 패션 디자인 추천 시스템 개발)

  • It is important for the strategy of product sales to investigate the consumer's sensitivity and preference degree in the environment that the process of material development has been changed focusing on the consumer renter. In the present study, we propose the Fashion Design Recommender System (FDRS) of textile design applying collaborative filtering personalization technique as one of methods in the material development centered on consumer's sensibility and preferences. In collaborative filtering personalization technique based on textile, Pearson Correlation Coefficient is used to calculate similarity weights between users. We build the database founded on the sensibility adjective to develop textile designs by extracting the representative sensibility adjective from users' sensibility and preferences about textile designs. FDRS recommends textile designs to a consumer who has a similar propensity about textile. Ultimately, this paper sugeests empirical applications to verify the adequacy and the validity on this system with the development of Fashion Design Recommender System (FDRS)

Personalized Dietary Nutrition Contents Recommendation using Hybrid Filtering for Managing Health (건강관리를 위한 혼합 필터링을 이용한 개인화 식이영양 콘텐츠 추천)

  • With the development of next IT convergence technology and the construction of infrastructure for personalized healthcare services, the importance of services based on user's preference is being spotlighted. Healthcare service have been progressed as treatment and management for specific diseases and dietary nutrition managements to customers according to the increase in chronic patients. In this paper, we proposed the personalized dietary nutrition contents recommendation using the hybrid filtering for managing health. The proposed method uses the hybrid filtering through combining the collaborative filtering and the image filtering in order to reinforce the special trend that recommendation provides similar contents. We developed the Web application for this purpose, and experimented with it to verify the logical validity and effectiveness. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the quality of services will be improved the healthcare by recommending the dietary nutrition contents. This evaluation found that the difference of satisfaction by service was statistically meaningful and showed high satisfaction.

  • In Augmented Reality, it needs restoration and tracking of a real-time scene structure for the augmented 3D model from input video or images. Most of the previous approaches construct accurate 3D models in advance and try to fit them in real-time. However, it is difficult to measure 3D model accurately and requires long pre-processing time to construct exact 3D model specifically. In this research, we suggest a real-time scene structure analysis method for the wide indoor mobile augmented reality, using only generic models without exact pre-constructed models. Our approach reduces cost and time by removing exact modeling process and demonstrates the method for restoration and tracking of the indoor repetitive scene structure such as corridors and stairways in different scales and details.

  • Cats used to be long avoided in Korean culture due to prejudices on their negative implications, yet they are increasingly being favoured by domestic readers along with a growing number of cat lovers, picture books, essays and webtoons. In the case of Yoko Sano's work, half of her published books in Korea depicts cats. Among those is 'The Cat That Lived a Million Times' which is a worldwide million seller. The research analyses five picture books on cats published in Korea, focusing on finding out symbolic representation of cats other than merely being the protagonist of the book. Sano asserts that we respect our own free well and love ourselves just as cats do in her books. In conclusion, cats in Sano's work mostly represent the author herself, which are sometimes depicted as mother and son. The colours and thick outlines of her cats, unlike tender characteristics, describes self-righteous strong personality, while emphasising both static and dynamic movements.

A Study on the Analysis of Damage Cause for MOF Installed in 22.9 kV Power Receiving System (22.9 kV 수전설비 시스템에 설치된 계기용변성기의 소손원인 판정에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to judge the damage cause of instrument transformer(MOF; Metering Out Fit) installed in 22.9kV power receiving system. In the three-dimensional analysis of the restored MOF, the damage pattern progressed from inside to outside, there was no damaged part in the upside. The resistance of the carbonized middle part is roughly $100\kappa\Omega$ and the exothermic temperature at inside is presumed as about $300\~800^{\circ}C$ in the result of metallurgical structure analysis. The structure and the composition rate on metal surface by SEM is similar. In the result of FT-IR analysis, we can observe the absorbtion peak at $1500cm^{-1}\;and\;1730 cm^{-1}$ is small. The high exothermic peak showed at the center part of the coil in the result of DTA.

  • The appearance of Internet, the 5th medium which has succeeded newspaper, magazine, TV, radio, creates WEB MAGAZINE to overcome the restriction of space and time. This paper has conducted the contents and visual points of view in webmagazine. Through case study, the following and identify for the analysis of the webmagazine contents and visual format. Firstly, communication at webmagazine is carried out at the user-centered atmosphere. Secondly, Even through an aesthetic is emphasized in the webmagazine, when web designer compose of the web site, it is necessary to find the proper methodology under the basis of user's behavior. Thirdly, Although webmagazine required the visual form, we should know that the evaluation of webmagazine should be implemented by users. Therefore, webmagazine should be designed by the user-centered layout.
