The Correlation Between the Moving Average of Precipitation and Groundwater Level in Korea (한국의 지하수위와 강우이동평균간의 상관관계)

  • Precipitation data and groundwater level data were collected for Korean peninsular and Jeju island. The relationship between precipitation and groundwater level and the correlation between the moving average of precipitation and goundwater level were analyzed. Critical infiltration, which is the spatially averaged maximum daily infiltration depth over interested region, is considered when the precipitation data was modified for moving average process and correlation between the moving average of modified precipitation and groundwater level. High correlation regions, which have greater than 0.6 correlation coefficients, were selected after the analysis with ciritical infiltration. Twenty-six regions were selected for high correlation regions. If we divide the regions by administrative district, there are nine regions for Gyungsang-Do, five regions for Chunchung-Do, four regions for Gyunggi-Do and Gangwon-Do, three regions for Jolla-Do, and one region for Jeju island. The groundwater level data for high correlation regions shows obvious response after precipitation event and there are few cases with abrupt change in groundwater level without precipitation-related event.

Mobile game meet Reality (모바일 게임, 현실과 만나다)

  • 오늘날 우리는 모바일 기기의 눈부신 성장과 보급으로 인해 누구나 손쉽게 모바일 게임을 즐길 수 있게 되었다. 많은 게임 제작 업체들은 모바일 게임개발에 총력을 기울이고 있고, 단말기 제조업체들 역시 게임 전용폰을 출시하는 등 모바일 게임에 대한 호응이 고조되고 있는 상황이다. 이는 모바일 게임이 시간과 공간적 개념을 뛰어넘는 이동성(Mobility)이라는 큰 장점을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 그러나 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 현재까지 모바일 게임의 컨텐츠는 기존의 다른 게임에 비해 그다지 큰 차별성을 가지고 있지 않다. 고스톱이나 단순한 퍼즐게임 등이 호응을 얻고 있기는 하지만 '이동성' 이라는 큰 장점을 살리기 위해서는 거 적극적이고 새로운 개념의 접근이 필요하기 때문이다. 더구나 요즘은 PSP 와 같은 막강한 휴대용 게임기가 등장하면서 휴대폰에서 즐기는 모바일 게임은 작은 화면이나 낮은 메모리 등의 한계로 인해 점점 더 그 자리를 내어주고 있는 실정이다. 그렇다면 '이동성'을 적극적으로 활용할 수 있는 모바일 개임 제작에 대한 새로운 접근방식은 어떻게 이루어져야 할까? 이를 위한 효과적인 방법으로 본 논문에서는 게임의 무대를 우리가 살고 있는 '현실-Reality'로 옮겨 올 것을 제안한다. 그렇게 되면 게이머는 모바일 기기가 가진 제약에서 벗어나 그 자신이 직접 현실세계를 배경으로 한 게임캐릭터가 되고, 물리적 이동에 따라 게임이 진행되는 전혀 새로운 방식의 모바일 게임을 경험할 수 있게 될 것이다. 현재 국내외적으로 이러한 실험적 시도가 조금씩 이루어지고 있기는 하지만 아직 호응은 그리 높지 않다. 그리하여 본 논문에서는 그러한 사례들을 조망하고 가장 효과적인 방법을 국내의 현실에 적합하게 적용할 새로운 모바일 게임의 방식을 제안하고자 한다. 연구사례로 제안 할 모바일 게임은 인터넷 미니홈피, GPS, 멀티미디어 메시지, 카메라 폰, 전자상거래의 기능을 통합하여 활용하는 'Dice Adventure Meeting'이라는 이름의 모바일 미팅 게임이며, 게임의 구체적인 시나리오를 살펴보면서 현실을 배경으로 한 새로운 모바일 개임의 제작에 대한 접근방법을 제시하고자 한다.

IPv6 Address Autoconfiguration for AODV in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (이동 애드혹 네트워크 환경에서 AODV를 위한 IPv6 주소 자동 설정)

  • An advantage of the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is that mobile nodes can self-organize the network topology without the help of network infrastructure. However, for the perfect self-organization of the MANET, each mobile node needs to self-configure its address. Even though a mobile node configures a unique address during the booting time, its address may conflict with nodes in other MANETs since MANETs containing the same address can be merged. The address autoconfiguration protocol implemented in this work consists of the strong DAD (Duplicate Address Detection) and the weak DAD. A unique address of a node is assigned by the strong DAD during the booting time and the weak DAD is used to detect address conflict and resolve address conflict during the ad hoc routing. In this work, we have implemented address autoconfiguration in the IPv6-based MANET using AODV as the routing protocol. We describe how the IPv6 address autoconfiguration is implemented and verify our implementation by showing the test scenarios on our testbed.

Analysis Method for Air Quality Improvement Effect of Transport and Environment Policy (교통환경정책의 대기질 개선효과 분석 방법론 연구)

  • This study proposes an analysis methodology for air quality improvement effect of transport and environment policy that are used for mobile pollution sources. The methodology considers the changes of traffic of road transport sources and air pollutant emission, the changes of atmospheric dispersion of air pollutants and the effects on the health of local residents in response to policy implementation. Especially, the changes to traffic flow must be considered in evaluating the effects on atmospheric environment as it has a direct connection to the effects of the policy in this study. We used bottom-up approach (BUA) based on the travel demand model to reflect the changes of travel behavior in detail in response to the policy implementation compared to the top-down approach (TDA) when calculating the changes of emission level of road transport. We showed the applicability of the proposed analysis methodology through a policy scenario analysis, and the analysis method can be effectively applied to the cases in which travelers' behavior changes are expected.

A Moving Synchronization Technique for Virtual Target Overlay (가상표적 전시를 위한 이동 동기화 기법)

  • This paper proposes a virtual target overlay technique for a realistic training simulation which projects a virtual target on ground-based CCD images according to an appointed scenario. This method creates a realistic 3D model for instructors by using high resolution GeoTIFF (Geographic Tag Image File Format) satellite images and DTED(Digital Terrain Elevation Data), and it extracts road areas from the given CCD images for both instructors and trainees, Since there is much difference in observation position, resolution, and scale between satellite Images and ground-based sensor images, feature-based matching faces difficulty, Hence, we propose a moving synchronization technique that projects the targets on sensor images according to the moving paths marked on 3D satellite images. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm with satellite and sensor images of Daejoen.

An Enhanced DSR Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks supporting Bidirectional Links (양방향 링크를 지원하는 이동 Ad Hoc 망에 대한 개선된 DSR 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to improve tile processing of route recovery of the existing DSR algorithm on detection of route error. In mobile ad hoc networks, mobile nodes themselves have routing capability. Thus, a well-defined routing protocol is required for route set-up between two mobile nodes. However, the existing DSR routing protocol has problem with dropping of packets due to the recovery delay when a route error occurs. In order to alleviate tile problem, we propose an enhanced DSR protocol to reduce the route error recovery tine and evaluate the protocol through simulation. As tile result of evaluation, we found the proposed DSR protocol provided about 4 to 30 times faster route error recovery time according to the test scenario than the existing DSR protocol.

Frequency Sharing of Cellular TDD-OFDMA Systems beyond 3G with Terrestrial Fixed Systems (TDD-OFDMA 기반의 차세대 셀룰라 시스템과 육상 고정 시스템 간의 주파수 공유 분석)

  • In this paper, the frequency sharing issue between cellular time division duplex-orthogonal frequency division multiple access (TDD-OFDMA) Systems and terrestrial Fixed Systems has been studied. The conventional advanced minimum coupling loss (A-MCL) includes only the formulation to calculate the interference from one interfering system. Therefore, A-MCL must be modified to assess the aggregated interference from base stations(BS) and mobile stations(MS). By applying the modified model, the coexistence analysis are done according to the average number of MS per sector, BS-to-BS distance, and the main beam direction of the terrestrial fixed system. In the case of 20 MS per sector, the BS-to-BS distance and the minimum distance between a terrestrial fixed system and BS are 5.8 km and 2.5 km, respectively. It is about 25dB that the difference between maximum and minimum interference signal power which varies with the main beam direction of the terrestrial fixed system. Moreover, for 40% of the main beam direction of the terrestrial fixed system, interference signal power is less than the maximum permissible interference.

  • In this paper, we described about core technologies required for the seamless service implementation and the communication system structure conceiving required for call & response services in order that the real-time traffic information service is consecutively provided to the vehicle moving at high speed. The SMART highway service is the information communication environment build-up concept which the real-time C&R service is comprised of the vehicle moving with 160km/h above. It was possible in case of being the low speed car in the DSRC system structure. However, there is a limit in the high speed environment as the DSRC system like a convention. In this paper, we proposed the structure of fitting for the SMART highway environment using the hand-over technique compositing the base station and several repeaters of DSRC system.

  • 최근 국지성 집중호우 및 돌발홍수와 같은 급격한 기상변화로 인한 기상재해의 발생빈도가 증가함에 따라 기존 지상 기상관측소로부터 얻어지는 직접탐측 자료보다는 기상레이더와 위성영상 등 원격탐측 자료를 사용한 수문분야의 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 기상레이더는 넓은 지역에 걸쳐 실시간으로 강수현상 감시가 가능하며 지상우량계로는 파악이 불가능한 미계측 유역을 통과하는 국지적인 호우현상이나 강우장의 이동 및 변화의 파악도 빠른 시간에 가능한 장점이 있다. 본 연구는 기상레이더 공간적 분포와 지상관측소(AWS 및 ASOS) 자료를 연계한 통계적 레이더 강수량 추정(Quantitative Precipitation Estimation, QPE)과 레이더 강수장을 직접 추적하는 강수장 예측(Quantitative Precipitation Forecast, QPF)를 연계한 해석방안을 수립하였으며, 모형 적용과정은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 강우장의 공간적인 이동을 고려하기 위해 강우장으로 부터 이류(advection)패턴을 추출하여 각 강우세포가 가지는 이동방향 및 이동속도를 고려한 강우장 추적기법을 통하여 2시간의 선행시간을 가지는 강우장을 예측하고자 한다. 둘째, 과거 기상레이더 이미지와 지상관측소의 강수 특성을 파악한 후 앞서 예측된 레이더강우장의 형태와 가장 유사한 과거 레이더강우장과 동일 시간대에 지상관측소 강수시계열을 시나리오 형태로 구축한다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 기상레이더 영상 이미지 상관분석 기법을 활용한 초단기강우예측은 집중호우시 홍수 예 경보를 위한 수문모형의 입력자료로 활용이 가능하다. 즉, 수문모형과 연계한 고해상도 단기홍수 예측기술 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, 향후 실시간 재해 예 경보에 활용성을 평가하고자 한다.

Development of Fast-Time Simulator for Aircraft Surface Operation (항공기 지상 이동 Fast-Time 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • Thisstudy presentsthe development of a fast-time airport surface simulator. The simulator usesthe output from a first-come first-served (FCFS) scheduler and has adopted one-dimensional dynamic model to simulate the movement of the aircraft on the surface. Higher collision risks situations in the airport surface traffic are analyzed to classify those situations into six cases. A conflict detection and resolution algorithm is implemented to maintain separation distance and to prevent deadlock. The simulator was tested with a scenario at the Incheon International Airport that contains 72 aircraft. Without the conflict detection and resolution, various conflict situations are identified. When the conflict detection and resolution algorithm is managing the traffic, it is confirmed that the conflicts are removed at the price of additional delays. In the conflict resolution algorithm, three prioritization strategies are implemented, and delayed aircraft count and average additional delays are compared. Prioritization based on remaining time or distance showed smaller total additional delay compared to choosing minimum delay priority for each situation.
