Transport parameters in a-Se:As films for digital X-ray conversion material (디지털 X-선 변환물질 a-Se:As의 수송변수)

  • The effects of Asaddition in amorphous selenium(a-Se) films for digital X-ray conversion material have been studied using the moving photocarrier grating(MPG) technique. This method utilizes the moving interference pattern generated by the superposition of the two frequency shifted laser beams for the illumination of the sample. This moving intensity grating induces a short circuit current, j$_{sc}$ in a-Se:As film. The transport parameters of the sample are extracted from the grating-velocity dependent short circuit current induced in the sample along the modulation direction. The electron and hole mobility, and recombination lifetime of a-Se films with arsenic(As) additions have been obtained. We have found an Increase in hole drift mobility and recombination lifetime, especially when 0.3% As is added into a-Se film, whereas electron mobility decreases with As addition due to the defect density. The transport properties for As doped a-Se films obtained by using MPG technique have been compared with X-ray sensitivity for a-Se:As device. The fabricated a-Se(0.3% As) device film exhibited the highest X-ray sensitivity out of 5 samples.

  • Weather radar rainfall data has been recognized for making valuable contributions to short-term flood forecasting and management over the past decades. There are several advantages to better monitoring rainfall in ungauged area compared to ground-based rain gauges with which spatial patterns of the rainfall are not effectively identified. Hence, this study aims to develop a new scheme to forecast spatio-temporal rainfall field. The proposed model was based on an advection scheme to track wind patterns and velocity. The results showd a promising forecasting skill with quantitative and qualitative measures. It was confirmed that the forecasted rainfall may be effectively used an input data for a distributed hydrological model.

Spatial Patterns of Migration in the Busan Metropolitan Area (부산권 인구이동의 공간적 패턴에 관한 연구)

  • This study intends to demonstrate that the population decrease in the City of Busan has been resulted from the move of the city's population towards suburbs as well as the out-migration towards the Seoul metropolitan area. To grasp the pattern in the spatial shift of the Busan's population, I analyze the change of population and households within the city and the migration at the inter-regional and intra-metropolitan scales. The major findings of the study are as follows: First, Busan has experienced population decline since 1995, as other large cities, such as Seoul and Daegu have done. Second, despite the population decrease, the number of households has been increased in Busan. Third, the residents of Busan have mostly moved not only to the Seoul metropolitan area but also to the suburban region of Busan. This finding may well contradict the long-standing belief that the continued decrease in the Busan population could be the result of the out-migration toward the Seoul metropolitan area. Fourth, the residential suburbanization in Busan can be interpreted as the extensive intra-metropolitan dispersion, which means the growth of the Busan metropolitan area.

  • Users of the Information Age, IT usage patterns of the wired broadband information services and various forms of the same quality wireless multimedia services are required. Changes of these times the next-generation mobile communications (IMT-Advanced) has emerged as the necessity of developing its current voice and packet data communications on the move in the high-speed 100Mbps, 1Gbps in stationary and slow data transmission rates up to fixed-mobile convergence based on needed to provide ubiquitous service platform for the realization of IMT-Advanced is the time for preparation. In particular, 3-5GHz band, focused on mobile communications can be used to secure the necessary frequency band relocated and the existing crosstalk analysis methodology developed for the services rendered, and the frequency of such results to obtain new spectrum for IMT-Advanced for the country to secure the frequency characteristics and IMT-Advanced 3-5GHz band for the radio frequency of the characterization techniques necessary to develop a national wireless communication interference and frequency-based technology acquisition and management skills were identified.

A Smart DTMC-based Handover Scheme Using Vehicle's Mobility Behavior Profile (차량의 이동성 행동 프로파일을 이용한 DTMC 기반의 스마트 핸드오버 기법)

  • For improvement of wireless Internet service quality at vehicle's moving speed, it is advised to reduce the service disruption time by reducing the handover frequency on vehicle's moving path. Particularly, it is advantageous to avoid the handover to cell whose dwell time is short or can be ignored in terms of service continuity and average throughput. This paper proposes the handover scheme that is suitable for vehicle in order to improve the wireless Internet service quality. In the proposed scheme, the handover process continues to be learned before being modeled to Discrete-Time Markov Chain (DTMC). This modeling reduces the handover frequency by preventing the handover to cell that could provide service sufficiently to passenger even when vehicle passed through the cell but there was no need to perform handover. In order to verify the proposed scheme, we observed the average number of handovers, the average RSSI and the average throughput on various moving paths that vehicle moved in the given urban environment. The experiment results confirmed that the proposed scheme was able to provide the improved wireless Internet service to vehicle that moved to some degree of consistency.

Buildability of 3D Printed Concrete Structures at Various Nozzle Speeds and Aspect Ratios (노즐이동속도와 변장비에 따른 3D 프린팅 콘크리트 구조물의 시공성)

  • In this study, an experimental study on the buildability of the structure using the developed printing materials and equipment was performed. Experimental variables included the moving speed of nozzles(=80 and 100mm/s), the revolutions per minute (RPM) of screw in discharge buckets, and the aspect ratio(=1.67 and 5.00) reflecting wall length of the structures. Buildability of the 3D printed concrete structures was analyzed based on the maximum decomposition layer and collapse patterns of the structures according to the experimental variables. The nozzle movement speed of 80mm/s and the aspect ratio of 1.67 were favorable for 3D printing in this study. The collapse process of structure due to uneven layer decomposition was also analyzed through the relative displacement measurement of the lower part of the structure during printing.

Design of a Personalized Web Mining System Using a Sequence Association Rule (스퀀스 연관규칙을 이용한 개인화 웹 마이닝 설계)

  • Recently e-commerce trade on the web has grown rapidly in scale and complexity, just as web site designs and web servers have become more complicated. In view of these complexities, it is obviously difficult to analyse web user's data since they web users employ so many different web paths. The existing association rule investigation algorithms identify all items with a high correlation. However even though users often only want to find items in which they have interest, it is still difficult to find the rules they want out of all of the many association rules found by existing algorithms. In this paper, we propose a system linking each node with the sequence association rule, linking all routes after finding a path corresponding to a user with the association rule-one of the data mining techniques which identify user patterns in web user paths. The suggested system helps us construct individualized or customer-subdivided sites using the sequence association rule in order to harmonize the paths of web users with user characters.

  • 최근 국지성 집중호우 및 돌발홍수와 같은 급격한 기상변화로 인한 기상재해의 발생빈도가 증가함에 따라 기존 지상 기상관측소로부터 얻어지는 직접탐측 자료보다는 기상레이더와 위성영상 등 원격탐측 자료를 사용한 수문분야의 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 기상레이더는 넓은 지역에 걸쳐 실시간으로 강수현상 감시가 가능하며 지상우량계로는 파악이 불가능한 미계측 유역을 통과하는 국지적인 호우현상이나 강우장의 이동 및 변화의 파악도 빠른 시간에 가능한 장점이 있다. 본 연구는 기상레이더 공간적 분포와 지상관측소(AWS 및 ASOS) 자료를 연계한 통계적 레이더 강수량 추정(Quantitative Precipitation Estimation, QPE)과 레이더 강수장을 직접 추적하는 강수장 예측(Quantitative Precipitation Forecast, QPF)를 연계한 해석방안을 수립하였으며, 모형 적용과정은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 강우장의 공간적인 이동을 고려하기 위해 강우장으로 부터 이류(advection)패턴을 추출하여 각 강우세포가 가지는 이동방향 및 이동속도를 고려한 강우장 추적기법을 통하여 2시간의 선행시간을 가지는 강우장을 예측하고자 한다. 둘째, 과거 기상레이더 이미지와 지상관측소의 강수 특성을 파악한 후 앞서 예측된 레이더강우장의 형태와 가장 유사한 과거 레이더강우장과 동일 시간대에 지상관측소 강수시계열을 시나리오 형태로 구축한다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 기상레이더 영상 이미지 상관분석 기법을 활용한 초단기강우예측은 집중호우시 홍수 예 경보를 위한 수문모형의 입력자료로 활용이 가능하다. 즉, 수문모형과 연계한 고해상도 단기홍수 예측기술 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, 향후 실시간 재해 예 경보에 활용성을 평가하고자 한다.

Vibration Serviceability Evaluation of a Single Span Steel-Concrete Composite Foot Bridge under Dynamic Pedestrian Loadings Considering Moving Mass Effect (이동 질량 효과를 고려한 단경간 강합성 보행교의 보행 하중 진동 사용성 평가)

  • In this paper, we present the analysis results on the vibration serviceability of a pedestrian bridge considering the effect of pedestrian moving mass inertia. Using dynamic finite element analysis, we considered different walking scenarios, including pedestrian density, walking speed, random walking, and synchronized walking, to analyze the acceleration response of a 40m long single-span bridge with a steel composite box cross section. We showed that the equivalent fixed mass analysis method did not significantly differ from the moving mass analysis in the random walk scenario and a wider frequency excitation band may be useful to consider when evaluating vibration serviceability in a random walk scenario.

The design of Horn array antenna for 28GHz millimeter wave band (28GHz 밀리미터파대역 혼 어레이 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, the relay antenna was designed in consideration of the performance of the 28GHz band 5G mobile communication relay horn antenna, such as radiation pattern and return loss. A horn array for 5G mobile communication repeater was designed by arranging the antenna elements in phase, and the performance was analyzed. Unlike conventional WCDMA (3G) and LTE (4G), in millimeter wave band communication, high path loss occurs between transmission and reception. In the design of a 5G millimeter wave horn antenna, antenna performance such as isolation and gain between antenna elements as well as gain and bandwidth of the antenna must be additionally considered. The antenna gain of the single horn antenna (1×1) and the array horn antenna (2×4) in the 28GHz band is about 10.44d Bi and 19.58dBi, respectively, and the return loss is designed to be less than -18dB. It has proven its validity and has been shown to be suitable for application to 5G mobile communication relay system.
