A method for measuring tonal noise of underwater vehicle using virtual synthetic array in near-field (근접장에서 가상 합성 배열을 이용한 수중 이동체의 토널 소음 측정 방법)

  • A receiving array system can be applied for tonal noise analysis of underwater vehicles, but it is difficult to install and operate, and a lot of cost is required. In order to overcome this problem, this paper proposes a method to measure the tonal noise of underwater vehicle after synthesizing a virtual array using single receiver. The proposed method compensates the Doppler frequency and time delay caused by the movement of the underwater sound source and applies the focused beamforming technique. The performance of the proposed method was analyzed via simulation.

The Performance Evaluation of Forward Link of CDMA System Adopting Closed-loop Transmit Beamforming with Feedback Channel Structure (폐쇄 루프 송신 빔 성형을 적용한 CDMA 시스템의 귀환 채널 구조에 따른 순방향 링크 성능 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 이동국 수신 신호의 SINR을 최대화하는 빔 성형 알고리듬을 이용하여, 폐쇄 루프 송신 빔 성형기술을 적용한 순방향 링크 CDMA 시스템에서의 안테나 수, 귀환 채널의 구조, 귀환 지연 등과 시스템 성능과의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 폐쇄 루프 전송 빔 성형에서는 이동국이 각 안테나가 겪는 채널을 추정하여 수신 SINR을 최대화시키는 가중치 벡터를 계산하고, 귀환채널을 통해 가중치 벡터의 양자화된 진폭과 위상정보를 전송한다. 컴퓨터 모의 실험 결과는 송신 안테나가 2개, 3개, 4개로 늘어남에 따라 빔 성형 이득은 단일 송신 안테나와 비교해 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 4.2dB, 5.8dB, 7dB로 증가하지만 양자화 오류에 의한 성능 저하 또한 0.1dB, 0.6dB, 1.3dB로 커지는 것을 보여준다. 또한 순방향 채널의 최대 도플러 주파수가 100Hz일 때에는 귀환 채널을 통한 소신 가중치 벡터를 보다 빠르게 갱신하는 것이 가중치 벡터의 양자화 레벨의 수를 늘여주는 것보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 0.6dB 더 좋은 성능을 보이며, 최대 도플러 주파수가 10Hz일 때에는 가중치 벡터의 갱신 속도를 늘이기 보다 양자화 레벨의 수를 늘여주어 정확한 가중치 벡터를 전송하는 편이 0.9dB의 성능 향상을 보인다. 두 전력제어 그룹 길이의 귀환지연으로 인한 성능저하는 채널의 최대 도플러 주파수가 50Hz인 경우가 채널의 최대 도플러 주파수가 100Hz인 경우보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 0.3dB 정도 더 작다. 또한 AOS가 3$^{\circ}$인 경우가 AOS가 $10^{\circ}$인 경우보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 1.9dB 정도, 주파수 선택적 페이딩 채널이 주파수 비선택적 페이딩 채널보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 1dB 정도 귀환 지연으로 인한 성능의 저하가 작다.

The Emission and Characteristics Measurement of Electron Beam and Basis Construction for Education Usage (전자빔 인출 및 빔 계측과 교육 활용을 위한 기반구축)

  • The MM22 microtron has used as a cancer therapy machine from Nov. 1986 to Feb. 2006. This machine was moved and installed to a radiation research center to use as an education and research tool from treatment machine because of aging of MM22 microtron. In this paper, for extracting the electron beam from microtron, operation principle of the microtron, system characteristics of each module, and pulse structures were reviewed. The beam extraction and measurement were performed after measuring pulses of each major module and extraction trials in the beam line. After finishing the movement of MM22 microtron, the 30mA target current in the case of 10 MV X-ray beam was extracted and the beam flatness of radiation distribution was acquired within 3% error ratio after 100 MU was irradiated on X-omatV Film at SSD 100 cm and field size $10{\times}10cm^2$. As a result, the microtron movement and new installation was performed with success.

Estimation of Moving Target Trajectory using Optimal Smoothing Filter based on Beamforming Data (최적 스무딩 필터를 이용한 빔형성 정보 기반 이동 목표물 궤적 추정)

  • This paper presents an application of an optimal smoothing filter for moving target tracking problem based on measured noise source. In order to measure distance and velocity for the moving target, a beamforming method is applied to use the noise source by using microphone array. Also a Kalman filter and an optimal smoothing algorithm are adopted to improve accuracy of trajectory estimation by using a Singer target model. The simulation is conducted with a missile dynamics to verify performance of the optimal smoothing filter, and a model rocket is used for experiment environment to compare the trajectory estimation results between the beamforming, the Kalman filter, and the smoother. The Kalman filter results show better tracking performance than the beamforming technique, and the estimation results of the optimal smoother outperform the Kalman filter in terms of trajectory accuracy in the experiment results.

  • A LMTT (Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology) is a horizontal transfer system for the yard automation This system is based on PMLSM (Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor) that consists of stator modules on the rail and shuttle car. In this research, the kriging interpolation method using sequential sampling is utilized to find the optimum design of a mover in LMTT. The design variables are considered as the transverse, longitudinal and wheel beam's thicknesses. The objective function is set up as weight, while the constant functions are set up as the stresses generated by four loading conditions. The optimum results obtained by the suggested method are compared with those determined by the GENESIS.

Positional Uncertainty Reduction of Overlapped Ultrasonic Sensor Ring for Efficient Mobile Robot Obstacle Detection (효율적인 이동로봇의 장애물 탐지를 위한 중첩 초음파 센서 링의 위치 불확실성 감소)

  • This paper presents the reduction of the positional uncertainty of an ultrasonic sensor ring with overlapped beam pattern for the efficient obstacle detection of a mobile robot. Basically, it is assumed that a relatively small number of inexpensive low directivity ultrasonic sensors are installed at regular spacings along the side of a circular mobile robot with their beams overlapped. First, for both single and double obstacles, we show that the positional uncertainty inherent to an ultrasonic sensor can be reduced using the overlapped beam pattern, and also quantify the relative improvement in positional uncertainty. Second, given measured distance data from one or two ultrasonic sensors, we devise the geometric method to determine the position of an obstacle with respect to the center of a mobile robot. Third, we examine and compare existing ultrasonic sensor models, including Gaussian distribution, parabolic distribution, uniform distribution, and impulse, and then build the sensor model of overlapped ultrasonic sensors, adequate for obstacle detection in terms of positional uncertainty and computational requirement. Finally, through experiments using our prototype ultrasonic sensor ring, the validity of overlapped beam pattern for reduced positional uncertainty and efficient obstacle detection is demonstrated.

  • In this paper, we studied about the antenna designed by heart-shape beam pattern for 4G mobile communication applications. The proposed whole size of structure was identical if it compare with the basis structure. But size of the patch was improved a little(upaward 1.3). The impedance bandwidth was improved about 258% which compares with the basis structure. And the structure could get very good characteristic applicatory to IMT-Advanced. Impedance bandwidth of antenna was about 22%(870MHz). The gain of above 8.7dBi was achieved extended IMT-Advanced all frequency band.

  • The composite of ionic polymer and metal has been fabricated and used for actuators. Platinum is deposited by electroless plating method onto the both sides of ionic polymer where ac voltage is applied. This results in the bending motion of a beam type actuator. In this paper, the fabrication method of ionic polymer-metal composite has been explained and the moving mechanism has been fabricated and measured using the ionic polymer-metal composite actuator. The moving mechanism is wireless type and the power is supplied through the rail electrodes in base plate. The maximum speed of the moving mechanism was about 24cm/min.

  • This paper is concerned with the design of the beam forming module that is a key unit of the active phased array antenna(APAA) system for mobile satellite communications. This module includes two blocks for main signal and tracking signal. Main signal block has the role of transmitting input signal from phased array antenna to tracking signal block. And, tracking signal block executes main roles, beam forming of tracking signal and electronic beam control. The several electrical performances of this module, phase characteristics and linear gain, etc., agreed with specifications needed fur APAA, and for more clear verification of the performances, the satellite communication test of the APAA including the modules was accomplished in the outdoors.
