The purpose of this study is to investigate the influences of Science Core schools on students' positive experiences about science (PES) through in-depth interviews with teachers in charge of science core schools. In-depth interviews with teachers were conducted to explore the factors that led to the effectiveness of science core schools in improving the student's PES in light of operational characteristics of science core schools as leading schools, characteristic factors of science core schools on students PES, and improvement plans and requirements of science core schools as leading schools, as well as implications for general high schools. In the case of science core schools, the teacher's enthusiasm for science teaching encouraged students' participation in science classes, promoted students' interest in science other than science-core classes, improved students' inquiry and research skills, increased students' competencies such as communications and collaboration by improving science instructions, and affected career search and exploration based on interests in science experiences. Based on the results, ways to spread the characteristics of science core schools to general schools' curriculum implementation are suggested including providing opportunities to experience the value of science study, to experience science and engineering careers through senior students, to participate in team projects and self-regulated science inquires, and so on.

The purpose of this research was to develop instructions for making upcycled clothing accessories related to the 'clothing management and recycling' unit of middle school home economics applying the design thinking technique. Teaching and learning process plans were developed according to the ADDIE model which includes the following process: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The design thinking process includes understanding the related knowledge, sympathizing, problem identification(sharing perspectives) and idea development, making prototypes, testing, and making the actual product. Thirteen home economics teachers served as critics. Student feedbacks were collected to evaluate whether the course objectives were attained after the implementation. As a result, teaching and learning process plans, course materials, and evaluation rubrics for ten class sessions were developed. Student feedbacks confirmed the attainment of following five course objectives: improvement of ethical responsibilities through the exploration of various clothing recycling techniques, practice of creative and eco-friendly clothing culture, acquisition of the skills to use sewing tools safely, improvement of abilities to think, sympathize, and communicate, and exploration of aesthetic activities and fashion careers.

According to the online learning environment, learning activities using mobile technology have emerged as a major concern. The features of mobile technology show potential supporting the emergence of learners' agencies in science education. In this study, 22 research literature on mobile activities in science teaching and learning published in Korea from 2011 to April 2020 were selected. First, the framework of Suarez et al. (2018) was revised and the types of mobile activities were categorized and investigated. Second, the emergence of agencies was examined in the context of science teaching and learning. And also, the relevance of mobile activity types ('Access to content', 'Data collection', 'Peer-to-peer communication', 'Contextual support') to support learners' agency dimension ('goals', 'content', 'action', 'strategy', 'reflection', 'monitoring') was analyzed. The first analysis show that science teaching and learning through mobile activities are changing from traditional to student-centered. Through these activities, students become more involved in learning and get the opportunity to become agents of learning. As a result of the second analysis, it has been confirmed that the emergence of learners' agencies has been supported and strengthened through mobile activities. Whereas, it needs to look upon the relationship between learners' agency and mobile activities in the overall context of science class. This consideration led to implications for the use of mobile technology in future science education and the transition to student-centered education.
The purpose of this study is to examine satisfaction with liberal education at H university. In particular, the study is interested in students' and satisfaction with the courses of and , compulsory liberal studies. As a result of analysis, students were most satisfied with 'the percentage of liberal studies credits', being followed by 'the number of students per liberal studies class' and 'the systemicity of curriculum.' The survey also showed that, in and , students were highly satisfied with 'chance for communication with native faculty, improvement of ral expression skills' and 'improvement of orthography and grammar skill and so on. With regard to items whose satisfaction were low, the survey showed that there was the lack of connectivity between liberal studies and employment in 3 categories in common. Therefore, a direction toward enhancement of efficiency in connection with career center and the like was required in addition to establishing, developing and specifying employment category in liberal studies.
Problems in mathematics textbooks are very important because there is a high reliance on textbooks in elementary school mathematics classes and there is a strong belief that mathematics is to find the solution to problems. Considering this importance, we analyzed problems in elementary mathematics textbooks quantitatively and qualitatively. Concretely, problems of addition and subtraction with carry on in the range of two digit numbers in the mathematics textbooks from the 1st to the 2015 national revised curriculum were analyzed. As a result, the problems in each textbook were found to reveal important features of the textbook reflecting changes in curriculum and educational background. And the problem of textbooks has changed in the direction of enhancing students' reasoning, communication, and problem solving ability. Based on these results, we suggested several implications for dealing with problems in elementary mathematics textbooks.

Recently, a learning management system incorporating ICT technology into learning has helped students improve self-directed learning skills. Self-directed learning using LMS promotes and stimulates learners' participation in learning, focusing on the advantages of efficient use of learning resources and the spread of communication. In this study, we study the impact of self-directed learning using the learning management system on elementary school students' motivation and academic performance. We expect learners will be able to achieve effective academic achievement by learning problems that fit their level through the algorithms of the proposed learning management system. For this study, a total of 16 classes were conducted for eight weeks using the proposed learning management system for 21 elementary school students. Research has shown significant improvement in the learning orientation and interest areas of the learners who participated in the experiment.
Recently, new teaching methods for communicating with teachers and students have been emerged according to the trends of decreasing the school-age population and the development of the mass media. We have applied teaching-learning model based on the flip learning to the college students in this work. As a result of the test for the customized flipped learning teaching-learning model in pre-class, the attendance rate of the major subject was 92.3% whereas that in liberal arts courses other than majors revealed 87.6%. This result for attendance rate shows that first year students in the radiology department have been actively participated in pre-class of the major subject than that of the liberal arts curriculum. From comparing the differences between the study group that was applied flipped learning in class and the non-applied group, the research group showed higher scores in knowledge, skills, and attitudes than the comparative group. In addition, more than 90% of the learners improved their responsibility, problem solving ability, creative thinking, cooperative ability, and communication ability through this learning program. From the test for the difference in the role of radiologists in the post class, the mean score was 4.40 for the group applied the teaching-learning model while that for non-applied group was 2.10. Hence, from such results, we see that this teaching-learning model is appropriate and needs to be extended to cultivate basic skills in radiology and relevant vocational education.

As robots are proved to be effective in enhancing students' creativity and problem-solving abilities and satisfying various needs in special education for the gifted, many students participate in private education and after-school robot classes. However, it is difficult for students in the lower social economy class to use robots for their learning because of the high expense of robots. On this point, as a part of u-Learnng project, this research attempts to provide students in the lower social economy class with the opportunities to use robots for one year. At the end of the year, we will compare the experimental group and the control group in order to examine learning effects of using robots. Until now we have found many cases that show positive effects of the use of robots in students' learning.

Analysis frame for undergraduate physics laboratory reports in collecting, processing, and analyzing data was developed. Using the frame and questionaries, we analyzed what difficulties students have in the concepts of error and uncertainty in writing laboratory reports. Students considered repetitive measurement for collecting data, but they didn't express it distinctly in their reports. They also had difficulties in measuring data around the extreme value or the large slope. Especially, most students have had difficulties with error and uncertainty. They can't apply the basic formulation to propagation of error and uncertainty. They also had the difficulties in analyzing data with concepts of error and uncertainty. While most students responded that error and uncertainty is important, there were few students who analyzed the influence of the cause of error on the results quantitatively. The result of the study showed that students have difficulties in writing the laboratory reports because they didn't have the correct concept of the error and uncertainty. So, it is needed to not only teach the physics concept about experiment but to teach basic concept of data collecting, processing, and analyzing specially about error and uncertainty for students as well.
