  • Data mining is an emerging area of computational intelligence that offers new theories, techniques, and tools for analysis of large data sets. The major techniques used in data mining are mining association rules, classification and clustering. Since these techniques are used individually, it is necessary to develop the methodology for rule extraction using a process of integrating these techniques. Rule extraction techniques assist humans in analyzing of large data sets and to turn the meaningful information contained in the data sets into successful decision making. This paper proposes an autonomous method of rule extraction using clustering and rough set theory. The experiments are carried out on data sets of UCI KDD archive and present decision rules from the proposed method. These rules can be successfully used for making decisions.

  • 정보기술의 발전은 기업들로 하여금 많은 양의 데이터를 기업내부에 축적할 수 있도록 하였지만, 축적된 데이터로부터 기업의 경쟁력을 강화시킬 수 있는 정보를 얻을 수 있는가의 여부는 별개의 문제이다. 즉, 최근 기업들은 최선의 의사결정을 내리는데 필요한 정보 또는 지식을 축적된 데이터로부터 가공해 낼 수 있는가의 여부에 중요한 관심사를 가지고 있다. 데이터마이닝은 바로 이와 같은 요구사항을 충족시키는 새로운 정보기술의 활용방법이다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 쉽게 데이터마이닝을 접할 수 있게 하기 위해서 데이터마이닝 솔루션인 EasyMiner를 설계하였다. EasyMiner는 데이터베이스에 독립적으로 접근하여, 제공되는 마이닝 기법을 수행할 수 있다. 제공되는 마이닝 기법으로는 분류, 군집화, 연관규칙 그리고 기초통계를 지원하고 있으며 또한 기법들에 의해 생성된 지식들을 사용자에게 쉽게 이해시키기 위해 각 기법의 결과에 대한 가시화를 설계하였다. 본 논문에서는 데이터마이닝 솔루션인 EasyMiner 설계 및 구현에 관하여 제시한다.

  • 전자상거래 환경에서 이동 에이전트는 사용자의 요구 사항을 바탕으로 사용자가 원하는 상품을 검색, 협상, 구매의사 결정 등을 하는 자율적인 프로그램을 말한다. 이동 에이전트를 사용함으로써 나타나는 많은 장점에도 불구하고 이동 에이전트가 갖는 자체적인 보안 위협으로 인해 전자상거래 환경에 적용 하는데 어려움이 있다. 특히 이동 에이전트가 저장하고 있는 정보에 대한 위변조 위협은 사용자로 하여금 정확한 상품 구매를 방해하는 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 공유키 암호화 기법과 공개키 암호화 기법을 이용한 키 교환 메커니즘을 통해 이동 에이전트 내부에 저장된 정보를 보호하는 기법을 제안한다.

투자대상 벤처기업의 선정을 위한 전문가시스템 개발

  • 오늘날 기술집약적인 벤처기업들에 대한 관심이 집중되고 있다. 소수의 진취적인 벤처기업들이 기술개발 및 신상품 개발 등 두드러진 활약을 보이고 있기 때문이다. 그러나 실제 이 벤처기업의 성공 가능성은 그렇게 높지 않다. 특히 벤처기업 환경이 아직 미약한 국내의 경우 위험부담이 훨씬 더 크다. 이러한 벤처기업 환경에서 투자대상 벤처기업을 선정하는 것은 매우 전략적인 의사결정이다. 일반적으로 일반 벤처투자가들은 관심이 있는 산업에 해당하는 기업의 사업계획서와 기초적인 관련 정보를 토대로 투자여부를 결정한다. 그렇지만 실제로는 이와 같은 분석에 필수적으로 요구되는 정보가 불확실할 뿐만 아니라 기술분야에 대한 전문적 지식도 부족하기 때문에 투자 여부를 결정하는 것은 매우 복잡하고 어려운 문제이다. 그러므로 투자대상 벤처기업의 선정을 효과적으로 지원해주는 체계적인 접근이 필요하다. 특히 벤처 사업과 관련된 기술 동향 및 수준 등에 관련된 전문 지식과 경험이 체계적으로 제공되어야 하고 또한 벤처 투자가의 개인적 경험과 판단이 평가 프로세스에 직접적으로 반영될 수 있어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전문가의 지식과 경험을 체계화하고 투자가의 개인적 판단을 효과적으로 수용할 수 있는 전문가시스템의 접근방법을 제시하고자 한다. 투자대상 벤처기업의 선정을 위한 전문가시스템을 구축하기 위해 본 연구에서는 다양한 정보수집 과정을 거쳤다. 우선 벤처 투자와 관련된 기존 문헌을 심층 분석하였으며 아울러 벤처 투자 업계에서 활약중인 전문 벤처캐피탈리스트들과의 수차례 인터뷰를 통해 벤처기업 평가의 주요 요인과 의사결정 과정을 파악할 수 있었다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 본 연구에서는 벤처 투자의 90%를 차지하는 정보통신분야에 속한 기법 중에서 투자대상 벤처기업의 선정을 위한 전문가시스템을 구축중이다.의 밀도를 비재무적 지표변수로 산정하여 로지스틱회귀 분석과 인공신경망 기법으로 검증하였다. 로지스틱회귀분석 결과에서는 재무적 지표변수 모형의 전체적 예측적중률이 87.50%인 반면에 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 90.18%로서 비재무적 지표변수 사용에 대한 개선의 효과가 나타났다. 표본기업들을 훈련과 시험용으로 구분하여 분석한 결과는 전체적으로 재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve.   • The on-going pre-environmental investigation at present is performed by separate numerical analysis of each provision which makes integrated pre-environmental investigation is difficult. The application of numerical data is insufficient, which results to the deterioration of environmental investigation result's objectivity. A lot of time and money is required for the investigation. In this study, the spacial analysis function of GIS was applied on the 8 pre-environmental investigation factors. Pre-environmental investigation GIS DMS(Decision Making System) using AHP was constructed to make integrated investigation possible through the use of investigation results for each factor. Through the use of the developed pre-environmental investigation GIS DMS and the pre-constructed GIS data, the objectivity of environmental investigation is sufficient and time and cost are reduced. Therefore, this system can be used for pre-environmental investigation during route selection in the initial stages of road construction. Through the numerical and visual data obtained from the system developed in this paper, it is easier to gain the approval of the public. Furthermore, environmental problems due to road construction can be investigated with less time and money during the initial stages of road construction.

  • The growing demand for customer-responsive, made-to-order manufacturing is stimulating the need for improved dynamic decision-making processes in commercial fleet operations. Moreover, the rapid growth of electronic commerce through the internet is also requiring advanced and precise real-time operation of vehicle fleets. Accompanying these demand side developments/pressures, the growing availability of technologies such as AVL(Automatic Vehicle Location) systems and continuous two-way communication devices is driving developments on the supply side. These technologies enable the dispatcher to identify the current location of trucks and to communicate with drivers in real time affording the carrier fleet dispatcher the opportunity to dynamically respond to changes in demand, driver and vehicle availability, as well as traffic network conditions. This research investigates key aspects of real time dynamic routing and scheduling problems in fleet operation particularly in a truckload pickup-and-delivery problem under various settings, in which information of stochastic demands is revealed on a continuous basis, i.e., as the scheduled routes are executed. The most promising solution strategies for dealing with this real-time problem are analyzed and integrated. Furthermore, this research develops. analyzes, and implements hybrid algorithms for solving them, which combine fast local heuristic approach with an optimization-based approach. In addition, various partitioning algorithms being able to deal with large fleet of vehicles are developed based on 'divided & conquer' technique. Simulation experiments are developed and conducted to evaluate the performance of these algorithms.

  • There have been high demands for urban underground structures. However, they should be rapidly constructed while maintaining the functions of adjacent structures and road systems especially in urban areas. In this respect, trenchless excavation methods are considered to very effective in minimizing ground displacements during excavation works. A variety of field conditions such as economic, technical and environmental aspects should be taken into consideration when an optimum trechless excavation method is to be chosen in a given condition. Therefore, this study aims to carry out a fundamental study to select an optimum trenchless excavation method by the decision making technique. Especially, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) which is a kind of a multiple attribute decision making process is adopted to consider the opinions of experts and to derive reliable decision criteria. As a result, the weights of key factors and the most effective trenchless methods for different ground conditions were proposed in this study.

A Study on Priority Decision for Roundabouts Implementation using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP기법을 이용한 회전교차로 도입의 우선순위 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Roundabouts are recently paid a lot of attention, but in the process of implementation, there are insufficient logical grounds for clear criteria and priority of introduction. As a result, in determining priority of introduction of roundabouts, a local government often depends on a policy maker's subjective judgement. Therefore, this study was conducted to suggest methodology for priority decision of introduction of roundabouts. Assessment elements of six main elements including accident type at intersections and each one has three subelements. Survey was carried out targeting fifty-three public officials in charge and experts in order to analyze the significance of each assessment element. The theoretical background of analysis is based on AHP developed by Saaty, which is one of multiple criteria decision making methods. 'Expert Choice 2000' was used as a software program. Five intersections representing different situations were selected as examples of analysis. It was also paired with sensibility analysis to grasp how priority might be changed by different weight. Through this result, it can be inferred that priority might change by manipulating field situation from other areas.

Convergence analysis for geographic variations and risk factors in the prevalence of hyperlipidemia using measures of Korean Community Health Survey (지역사회건강조사 지표를 이용한 고지혈증 유병율의 지역 간 변이와 위험 요인의 융복합적 분석)

  • We investigate how the regional prevalence of hyperlipidemia is affected by health-related and socioeconomic factors with a special emphasis on geographic variations. We focus on the likelihood of hyperlipidemia as function of various region-specific attributes. We analysis a data set at the level of 249 small administrative districts collected from 2012 Korean Community Health Survey by Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. To estimate, we use several methods including correlation analysis, multiple regression and decision tree model. We find that the average prevalence of hyperlipidemia in 249 small districts is 9.6% and its coefficient of variation is 28.3%. Prevalence of hyperlipidemia in continental and capital regions is higher than in southeast coastal regions. Further findings using decision tree model suggest that variations of hyperlipidemia prevalence between regions is more likely to be associated with rate of employee, level of stress, prevalence of hypertension, angina pectoris, and osteoarthritis in their regions.

  • This study aims to identify factors that affect the degree of injury severity sustained in traffic crashes on work zone of Korean expressways. To this end, decision tree method was applied to identify influential factors on injury severity and compare characteristics of those factors between work zone and non-work zone. The results from the comparison show that the risk of severity was low when traffic volume and heavy vehicle ratio are high because the factors lower the overall section speed. On the other hand, when the traffic volume and the heavy vehicle ratio are low, the section speed increased and the tendency for high injury severity was confirmed. These findings are expected to help transportation planners and engineers understand which risk factors contribute more to severe injury in the work zones such that they can effectively prepare and implement safety countermeasures.
