Data were obtained from female consumers who have purchased jewelry products living in Busan. The results showed that impulse buying of jewelry was influenced by shopping orientation, consumption value, store attributes, store types, and demographic variables. The impulse-buyers of jewelry were more likely to be recreational and fashion-oriented shoppers and to have store/brand loyalty than unimpulse-buyers. Additionally, they perceived importantly the uniqueness, newness or fashionability of jewelry, kindness of salesperson, store atmosphere, various design and assortment, and special sales of the jewelry store. They were more likely to patronize the department store and franchise store to purchase jewelry products. They also tended to spend more for jewelry and more frequently visit the jewelry store. • Accurate and versatile image data-sets are essential for fashion AI research and AI-based fashion businesses based on a systematic attribute classification system. This study constructs a color and texture attribute hierarchical classification system by collecting fashion item images and analyzing the metadata of fashion items described by consumers. Essential dimensions to explain color and texture attributes were extracted; in addition, attribute values for each dimension were constructed based on metadata and previous studies. This hierarchical classification system satisfies consistency, exclusiveness, inclusiveness, and flexibility. The image tagging to confirm the usefulness of the proposed classification system indicated that the contents of attributes of the same image differ depending on the annotator that require a clear standard for distinguishing differences between the properties. This classification system will improve the reliability of the training data for machine learning, by providing standardized criteria for tasks such as tagging and annotating of fashion items.

  • The market of Internet-based fashion/coordination shopping malls have been growing rapidly year by year. In accordance with this growth, Internet fashion shopping malls are also making a lot of efforts to increase their revenue by displaying new fashion products on a high spot or by having professional models wear them to make them more attractive to the customers. If online shopping malls have the functionality of automatically calculating the matching degree of lower and upper clothes, it could play a role of off-line shop assistants and provide a more convenient way of purchasing fashion products for customers. In this paper, we present a learning system adopting the content-based filtering method for online shopping malls, which automatically calculates the matching degree of lower and upper clothes and recommends the most well-matched pair.

The major results were as follows: First, G sensibility was classified into five types: G1(My pace type), G2(Active type), G3(Whimsical type). G4(Mania type), and G5(Sensational type). Particularly, G3 was most highly observed in male and female groups. Second, there was significant difference in the importance of store attribute, such as merchandise assortment among G sensibility types. Third, there were significant differences in VM factors of store image, physical facilities, and display and layout among G sensibility types. This study explored diverse factors that affect price acceptability (level of acceptable price and range of acceptable price). Stimuli photos of fashion products (i.e., bag, shoes, and jacket) were developed and used for online experiments with 3,000 female consumers. Important results included factors that affected the price acceptability of fashion products were price-quality relation, price concern, and product attribute perception. The results showed that female consumers depended more on price-quality relations, more positively perceived product attributes, and were less sensitive to price; in addition, they tended to have a higher level of acceptable price as well as a wider range of acceptable price for fashion products. These results were consistent across all experiments with different fashion items (i.e., bag, shoes, and jacket). Based on the results, factors that influence the price acceptability were revealed. Marketing practitioners need to more actively consider implying advertising strategies that emphasize the advancement of product attributes such as quality for highpriced products.
