In this study, the first purpose is implementation of Regional Environmental Management System that is applied to the determination and limitation, execution of urban planning using Geographic Information System and the regional environmental problems in Sungnam are analyzed and presented. Also, the class of earth surface needed in the case of development of residing environment management model is determined using land utilization, the relationship of traffic and environment and the technique of residing environment analysis and assessment using regional environmental information is considered.

Seoul metropolitan government has produced fundamental digital map products and developed various GIS applications for years according to the GIS implementation plan established in 1995. However, the city's recent organization restructuring and prioritized large scale database construction projects for unemployed workers have changed the original GIS implementation schedule. The information strategy plan for the Seoul metropolitan government that represents development and use of common organization -wide database and seeks for providing high quality information services for citizens also require reestablishing the city's GIS implementation strategy. This paper discusses a new implementation strategy and suggests conceptual system architecture for the Seoul metropolitan government's GIS in order to implement a comprehensive urban information system(UIS) based on contemporary GIS technologies.

PC 환경이 아닌 무선 인터넷 환경에서 제공되는 Mobile GIS(Geographic Information System)는 시간과 공간의 제약을 극복하고 실시간으로 지리정보를 얻을 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있으나, 사용자의 무선단말기와 서버 사이에 접속이 유지되어 있어야만 무선으로 GIS 서비스를 이용할 수 있다. 이는 현재 국내 무선 네트워크의 느린 속도와 비싼 이용 요금을 감안하면 Mobile GIS 가 대중화되는데 장애요인이 되고있다. 그리고 무선 인터넷 서비스가 급격히 증가하면서 Mobile GIS는 보안상 약점을 드러낼 것으로 예측된다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 공개된 불특정다수의 무선 네트워크 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 보안의 피해와 그에 따른 기본적 Mobile Security 서비스에 대해 알아보고, 정보보호 입장에서 Mobile Database 를 연구하였다. 또한 Mobile GIS 를 위한 WAP 게이트웨이에서 공간데이터의 유출 가능성을 발견하였고, 이를 위한 해결책으로 J2ME 의 Pre-verification 기능과 종단간 암호화 (End-to-End Security) 기능을 Mobile GIS 설계에 적용하여 무선 환경에서 동적인 지도서비스와 더불어 공간 데이터의 보안을 유지할 수 있는 기법을 제시하였다. 이 연구를 통해 대역폭(Bandwidth)의 한계를 지닌 개방적 무선환경에서 Mobile GIS와 같은 컨텐츠 프라이버시(Contents Privacy) 보호가 요구되는 분야에 응용될 수 있으리라 기대된다.

Importance of forest recreation in the Korean forestry situation has recently been increased and will be even more rapidly in the future. For efficient planning and development for the national scale, computer aided information techniques are urgently needed. Geographic information system(GIS) has been proven to organize and analyze data from various sources for large geographical areas. Unlike conventional data base management system (DBMS), GIS can handle spatially referenced data and, thus, can be a good candidate for recreation planning support system. This paper introduces the concept and components of GIS and illustrates examples of GIS applications. A possibility of system integration with other data sources is also suggested.

This paper reviews the topic of GIS, the academic setting of GIS, GIS model curricula and the possibility GIS education in Korea. The topics which might be included in a science of geographic information consist of data collection and measurement, data capture, spatial statistics, data modeling and theories of spatial data, data structures, algorithms and processes, display, analytical tools, institutional, managerial and ethical issues. The problems in teaching a course on GIS in higher education are reviewed. Because of their technological, integrative, and rapidly changing nature, GIS pose major challenges to their education system which it is ill equipped to meet. In higher education a number of initiatives have been taken to provide education about and training with, GIS. The possible GIS curricula are suggested. These curricula are divided into 3 major sections, relating GIS context, technical issues and application issues. The prospects of GIS appears lo depend largely upon the future cooperation of academia, government, and industry

This study aims to develop a model that can automatically identify the rooftop shape of apartment buildings using GIS and machine learning algorithms, and apply it to analyze the relationship between rooftop shape and characteristics of apartment complexes. A database of rooftop data for each building in an apartment complex was constructed using geospatial data, and individual buildings within each complex were classified into flat type, tower type, and mixed types using the random forest algorithm. In addition, the relationship between the proportion of rooftop shapes, development density, height, and other characteristics of apartment complexes was analyzed to propose the potential application of geospatial information in the real estate field. This study is expected to serve as a basic research on AI-based building type classification and to be utilized in various spatial and real estate analyses.

사용자들의 정보교환이 주목적인 분산 멀티미디어 응용 프로그램은 많은 분야에서 개발되어 사용되고 있다. 화상/음성 회의, 채팅도구, 화이트보드, 전자공책등 독립적으로 수행하는 응용 프로그램들이 있는데, 이러한 분산 멀티미디어 응용 프로그램을 이용하여 , 지리적으로 떨어져 있는 사용자들이 함께 일할수 있는 환경인 협동 작업 환경을 제공할 수있다. 최근에 이러한 협동 작업 환경에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있는데 더 효율적이고 신뢰할 수 있는 협동작업환경을 제공하기 위해서는플랫폼에 독립적이고 보안성이 제공되어야 한다. 또한 사용자가 협동 작업을 생성, 삭제, 참여, 탈퇴할 수 있는 기능도 제공되어야한다. 이러한 기능을 제공하는 서비스를 세션서비스라고 한다. 본 논문은 분산멀티미디어 협동 작업 환경을 위한 CORBA 기반의 보안성있는 세션 서비스를 제안한다. 분산 객체 기술인 CORBA는 객체의 위치와 구현에 상관없이 그들 사이의 통신을 가능하게 하여 주는데 , 이러한 CORBA의 장점을 이용하여 플랫폼에 독립적이면서 보안성을 강화하고 일반적인 세션 정보를 제공하는 서비스를 제안한다. 그 타당성을 입증하기 위해 세션서비스의 프로토타입이 분산 멀티미디어 시스템인 MAESTRO 의 일부분으로 개발되었었다. 여기에서 제안한 세션서비스는 OMG 표준의 새로운 서비스로 제안될수 있을 것이다.

한국의 기후학 연구성과는 1958년 발표된 이후 약간의 기복은 있었으나 꾸준히 발 전하여 왔다. 연구성과를 하부 분야별로 보면 기후학 일반(43.5%)이 가장 많았고, 종관기후 학(34.7%), 기후변화(13.0%) 그리고 응용기후학(8.8%)으로 구성되어 있으나 근래에는 응용 기후학 분야에 대한 연구가 서서히 증가하고 있다. 1970년대 이전에는 주로 지상 기후요소 간의 기상자료를 사용하여 상관관계 출현빈도.시계열분석 등으로 전국 규모의 기후특성을 규명한 데 반하여 최근에는 시계열분석과 더불어 군집.주성분.인자분석 등 다변량 분석기 법 등의 통계기법이 많이 활용되고 있다. 초기에는 지상기상자료를 주로 연구에 사용하였는 데 점차 고층기상자료와 인공위성자료를 활용하면서 국지기후 연구와 더불어 기후예측 모델 의 구축단계까지 발달하였다. 그러나 한국기후학이 당면한 문제는 인적자원의 절대적인 빈 곤과 더불어 인접분야에 비하여 연구환경이 열악한 것이다. 즉, 대학에서는 비전공자에 의한 기후학 교육이 빈번하고, 국지기후 연구의 경우는 실측을 요하기도 하는데 자료의 생성 및 분석에 필요한 장비가 절대적으로 부족하다. 따라서 한국의 기후학의 발전을 도모하려면 기 후학자의 배출이 급선무이고, 기후학자는 물론, 대학 및 연구소간의 연구 및 자료 교류 등의 상호협조가 요청된다.

In this study, GNLP(GIS linked non-linear network analysis program) for pipeline system analysis has been developed. This GNLP gets the input data for pipeline analysis from existing GIS(geographic information system) data automatically, and has GUI(graphic user interface) for user. Non-Linear Method was used for hydraulic analysis of pipe network based on Hazen-Williams equation, and Microsoft Access of relational database management system(RDBMS) was used for the framework of database applied program. GNLP system environment program was improved so that a pipe network designer can input information data for hydraulic analysis of pipeline system more easily than that of existing models. Furthermore this model generate output such as pressure and water quantities in the form of a table and a chart, and also produces output data in Excel file. This model is also able to display data effectively for analysed data confirmation and query function which is the core of GIS program.

This study presented the route location method by applying AHP and evaluating quantitatively. This study developed the program that can be easily applied to this kind of road design, and built the decision support system for route location. The study results are summarized as follows ; We could quantitatively evaluate the appropriateness of exiting routes by applying the AHP based on GIS. If we apply this to the roads that will be newly constructed, we can make the objective and reliable route location when making road plans and basic designs. We improved the technique of route location by applying the decision support system with third-dimensional data, which considers even the vertical alignment plan, to the existing decision support system with second-dimensional data. And, since we can set those data such as vertical slope, earth-volume, structure size, location and construction cost to independent variables, we can make road designs more scientifically and reasonably.
