An Experimental Study on the Performance of Compression-Type Anchor for CFRP Tendons (CFRP 긴장재용 압착형 정착장치의 정착성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) tendons can be used as an alternative to solve the corrosion problem of steel tendons. Since CFRP tendons are vulnerable to transverse pressure and stress concentration, the conventional anchorage system used for steel tendons can create an unreliable load carrying capacity and may result in a premature failure. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the anchorage system that is well suited for CFRP tendons. There are many types of anchorage systems for CFRP tendons, which can be classified into three types: wedge-type anchorage, bond-type anchorage, and compression-type anchorage. This paper deals with the compression-type anchorage system manufactured through swaging technology. Based on the previous test results performed by the authors, the dimension of anchorage sleeve, the use and non-use of the insert, and the compression pressure on the sleeve have been selected as the major parameters affecting the performance of the compression-type anchorage. Some anchorage sleeves have been tapered to reduce the stress concentration. Test results revealed that the performance of the anchorage system depends mainly on the dimension and the compression pressure. It has been verified that the tapered sleeve can effectively reduce the stress concentration.

Stress Concentration at Connection and Cut-Out Parts according to Existence of Scallop and Diaphragms on Orthotropic Steel Decks (강바닥판의 스캘럽·다이아프램 설치 유무에 따른 교차부·컷아웃부 응력집중)

  • Orthotropic steel decks are manufactured by welding thin plates therefore it is inevitable that there are abundant works of welding process. On connection of transverse rib web, crossing point of longitudinal rib, transverse rib and deck plate and cut-out parts of transverse rib are the significant position of stress concentration phenomenon because of out of plane and oil-caning deformation caused by longitudinal rib distortion with shear force and distortion. In order to reduce the stress concentration phenomenon and improving fatigue performance at the crosing point and cut-out, structural analysis was performed considering the existence of scalop at conection and diaphragm which have same plane with transverse rib placed inside of longitudinal rib. Result o f the analysis show that there are the largest efect of stres concentration reduction when diaphragms are installed without scallop at connection, therefore these detail can improve the fatigue performance of orthotropic steel decks.

Stiffened Effect of Knee Brace of Cross-Beam in Steel Box-girder Bridges (강박스거더교 가로보 니브레이스(Knee Brace)의 보강효과)

  • Recently, a knee brace is usually installed in connection between cross-beam and main-girder of steel box-girder bridges. The knee brace is installed as a structural stiffener and mainly aims to relieve stress at joints and to prevent main-girder from lateral deformation. However, research on the knee brace is insufficient to obviously evaluate the necessity. The stiffened effect of knee brace is determined by using finite element analyses. Stress distribution, stress level of members and deflection of the cross-beam are evaluated by parametric FE analysis for the installation of knee brace and the depth ratio of cross-beam/steel box girder. It is seen from comparison of numerical analysis results that the knee brace installed in cross-beam of steel boxgirders bridges is not efficient as a structural stiffener with respect to stress relief and stiffened effect.

복굴절의 이해와 렌즈의 복굴절 측정

  • 복굴절이란 하나의 매질로부터 다른 매질로 진입하는 파동이 그 경계면에서 나가는 방향을 바꾸는 현상으로 등방성 매질에서 이방성 매질로 나아갈 때는 경계면에서 굴절파가 두 개로 나뉘어 굴절하게 되는 것을 말한다. 휴대폰용 카메라모듈 렌즈의 사출성형공정에서 발생하는 렌즈 내의 잔류응력에 의한 복굴절률은 사출공정에서의 렌즈불량 발생의 원인이 되며, 잔류응력은 또한 사출성형 이후에 완화되어 렌즈의 외관 치수의 변형을 가져오게 된다. 그러나 플라스틱류를 사용하는 정밀가공 생산 공정 등 실생활에서는 제품의 제조에 있어서 복굴절은 광학적 특성을 결정하는 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나로서 성형시 복굴절을 최소화할 필요가 있다. 이를 어느 정도 달성했는가의 수준에 따라 플라스틱 정밀 성형 제품의 등급이 결정되는 중요한 측정요소이다.

  • Stress relaxation experiments were performed to obtain the material properties to be used in the linear viscoelastic study. Master curve of the modulus of polystyrene were obtained by using the time-temperature superposition principle. Because Shyu and Tobolsky's tensile relaxation modulus master curve or Polystyrene material showed very large difference, in-house data were required to calculate the residual stresses in injection-molded products more accurately. Our own experimental data showed that the master curve Shyu's data should be shifted about two orders in material time coordinate.

Hillock Behavior on Aluminum Thin Films Deposited on Polymide Film (Polymide 박막상에 증착된 알루미늄 박막의 Hillock거동)

  • polyimide를 입힌 SiO2 wafer상에 증착된 알루미늄 박막의 두께 및 소둔 여부에 따른 hillock의 거동을 atomic force microscopy (AFM)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 증착된 상태의 박막에서 성장 hillock이 관찰되었으며 박막 두께가 증가할수록 hillock의 크기는 증가한 반면 밀도는 감소하였다. 소둔 후 hillock의 평균 크기는 증가하였으나 밀도는 감소하였다. 이러한 hillock 밀도의 감소는 견고한 wafer상에 직접 증착된 알루미늄 박막에서와 다르다. 이는 유연한 polymide 박막에 의한 응력 완화로 응력유기 입계확산이 이루어지지 않아 hillock 이 추가로 형성되지 않은 상태에서 큰 hillock이 성장하면서 작은 hillock을 흡수하기 때문으로 판단된다.

  • This paper deals with the free vibration of horizontally curved beams with transition currie. Based on the dynamic equilibrium equations of a curved beam element subjected to the stress resultants and inertia forces, the governing differential equations are derived for the out-of-plane vibration of curved beam with variable curvature. These equations are applied to the beam having transition curve in which the clothiod curve is chosen in this study. The differential equations are solved by the numerical methods lot calculating the natural frequencies and mode shapes. For verifying theories developed herein, the frequency parameters obtained from this studs and ADINA are compared with each other. As the numerical results, the various parametric studies effecting on natural frequencies are investigated and those results are presented in tables and figures.

잔류응력 완화를 위한 극저온 열처리 시 7075 알루미늄 합금의 기계적 특성 및 미세조직의 변화

  • 7075알루미늄 합금은 기계적 강도가 가장 높은 고강도 합금으로 열처리 공정이 반드시 필요하다. 그러나 열처리 공정 중 재료의 두께에 따른 내부 온도의 차이로 인한 잔류응력이 발생하여 최종 제품의 치수에 변화를 일으켜 제품 생산에 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 극저온 열처리 공정을 통하여 야기되는 7075알루미늄 합금의 기계적 특성 및 미세조직에 관하여 연구하였다. 7075 알루미늄 합금은 석출경화를 통한 강화가 이루어지며, 석출경화를 위해서 용체화 처리를 하여 인공시효를 하는 기존 공정과 비교하여 극저온 열처리 공정은 두 개의 추가적인 단계를 가지고 있다. 첫 번째 단계는 -196도의 액체 질소 속에 샘플을 극저온 ��칭을 하는 단계이고, 두 번째 단계는 샘플의 온도를 급격하게 올리는 up-hill quenching이다. 잔류응력은 X-ray diffraction을 이용한 $sin2{\psi}$ 방법으로 측정되었다. 극저온 열처리 후 기계적 특성을 평가하기 위하여 vickers hardness를 측정하였으며 미세 조직의 특성을 파악하기 위하여 EBSD와 TEM을 이용하여 평가하였다.

  • 철도나 고속철도 교량에 사용되는 장대레일은 차량에 의한 동적충격의 완화, 주행시 승차감의 향상과 같은 장점을 가져온 반면에, 인접한 교량의 연결부에서 레일과 교량 상부구조간의 거동 불일치로 인해 레일에 부가적인 응력을 발생시킨다. 이러한 부가적인 레일응력과 지반운동의 특성에 따른 구조적 응답의 민감도 및 열차의 안전한 정지를 고려하여, 지진 발생시 고속철도교량의 장대레일 응력을 해석하기 위해 레일의 재료비선형성, 지반운동의 위상차 등을 고려한 비선형 시간이력해석 방법을 제시하였다. 그리고 우리나라의 여러 지반조건을 고려하고 고속철도의 대표적인 연속교량 모델에 적용하여 제시한 방법의 타당성을 검토하였다.

Experimental Study on the Deformation and Failure Behavior of Tono Granite (토노(Tono) 화강암의 변형 및 파괴거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The nature of surface deformation of Tono granite was investigated using a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) under water-saturated stress relaxation conditions. A new apparatus was developed for this experiment, enabling continuous measurements of stress-strain and simultaneous observations of surface deformation by CLSM. The amounts of grain contact deformation and intra-granular surface deformation were calculated using a finite element method. The results reveal that intense grain contact deformation and intra-granular surface deformation occurred during the period of stress relaxation, and that the intensity of this deformation increased with increasing applied stress. Finite element method (FEM) results show that the strain of grain boundary was greater than strain of inter-granular surface. Contour maps of these local strains were compiled for individual grains and their boundaries, revealing intense deformation at the boundaries between biotite and quartz under compressional stress. This result was a consequence of the mechano-chemical effect of biotite and quartz minerals. Biotite in granite has a layered structure of iron-magnesium-aluminum silicate sheets that are weakly bonded together by layers of potassium ions. In contrast, quartz occurs as stable spherical grains.
