음향스텔스 성능 향상을 위한 PRAIRIE 공기 분사량 제어 실험 (Tests on Ventilation Control of PRAIRIE for Improving Acoustic Stealth Performance)

  • PRAIRIE(Propeller Air Induced Emission) system is a kind of underwater radiated noise suppression systems to reduce the probability of the identification or classification of our warship's acoustic signature by an enemy ship. It is effective in case of strong cavitation events. This is because air bubbles emitted from the PRAIRIE system mitigate drastic collapses of the cavity bubbles that can generate an intense shock wave. However, when the PRAIRIE system is operated in a non or weak cavitation condition, it might increase the total level of underwater radiated noise and induce the acoustic signatures. Therefore, this paper presents the trial results on ventilation control of PRAIRIE to find a more efficient operation depend on the cavitation condition. Then, we show a variation of the amplitude modulation characteristics according to ventilation control.

  • 국내 설정에 적합한 차음성능기준 및 등급화 방안을 설정하기 위하여 그 기초 연구단계로서 주민반응조사 및 차음성능수준을 측정하고, 차음성능 평가치와 생활감과의 상관관계를 분석 외국의 기존 평가기준곡선 적응가능성을 검토하였다. 분석결과 ISO에 의한 평가방법보다는 JIS에 의한 평가방법이 국내 공동주택의 경우에는 보다 합리적임을 파악하였고, 표준충격원은 경량 및 중량충격원을 사용하는 것이 타당하다고 판단된다. 또한 측정시 문제가 되는 63Hz 중심 주파수대역을 측정범위에서 제외하여도 차음성능 지수상의 오차는 무시할 수 있었다.

  • In this research, internal-mixing twin-fluid atomizer using sonic energy is designed and manufactured. We are trying to intimate high efficiency twin-fluid atomizer to obtain good liquid atomization in the low pressure region. Define of geometric form of atomizer, characteristics of spray is influenced by position, depth and height variation of cavity resonator, variation of sound intensity and resonant sound frequency with liquid flow rate. The liquid atomization is promoted by multi-stage disintegration of mixing flow of gas with liquid and the optimum condition of position and depth of cavity resonator according to sonic energy is obtained from the condition at a=2.5mm and L=2mm. The velocity distribution of droplets shows negative value due to recirculation region at the center of axial, and as the radial direction distance is far, the velocity distribution of droplets decrease slowly after having a maximum value. However velocity and SMD show nearly uniform distribution at the down stream and as result compared to Nukiyama and Tanasawa's equation. atomization of mixing flow with air and liquid dispersing from the outlet of the nozzle is promoted by the effect of collision at the cavity resonator.

3차원 날개의 캐비테이션 소음 계측시험 (Experimental Study on the Cavitation Noise of a Hydrofoil)

  • In order to investigate the noise characteristics of the different caviation, noise measurements were carried out in a large cavitation tunnel of the Samsuug Ship Model Basin(SSMB). The noise measurements for a 3-dimensional hydrofoil were carried out at the angle of attack of $12^{\circ}$ and $16^{\circ}$ according to the decrease in cavitation number. It is exhibited that sound pressure level(SPL) increased sharply with cavitation inception. The frequency of the noise induced by sheet cavitation was higher than that of tip vortex cavitation in the phase of cavitation inception. Within the range of the high frequency, in the case of fully developed cavitation, sheet cavitation noise was significantly increased in sound pressure level compared with tip vortex cavitation noise. In this study, the noise characteristics of the different cavitation types were considered experimentally and would be utilized as a basis for the analysis of propeller cavitation noise.

  • 메타버스 공간 혹은 다자간 온라인 게임형 커뮤니케이션을 이용한 공동창작의 특성이나 장점에 대한 연구와 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 제안된 공간에서 창작이라는 공통의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서로의 아이디어와 기술, 그리고 예술적 창작물에 대한 의사교환을 시도하여, 각자의 창작 활동이 더욱 풍부하게 발전할 수 있도록 협업하는 참여적 디자인 실험을 진행하였다. 실험에 참가한 참가자들은 세컨드라이프에서 자신의 예술활동 혹은 음악활동을 목적으로 활발하게 활동하는 25 명의 그룹참여자들을 대상으로 진행되었다. 이들은 세컨드라이프 상에 구축된 갤러리 메타포를 중심으로 사진작가, 화가, 사운드 아티스트, 아키텍트, 콜렉터 등의 역할을 수행하였고, 연구 기간 동안 5 명의 예술가가 직접 자신의 전시회를 제안된 공간에서 진행하도록 하였다.

  • The flight vehicles have cavities such as wheel wells and bomb bays. The flow around a cavity is characterized as unsteady flow because of the formation and dissipation of vortices due to the interaction between the freestream shear layer and cavity internal flow, the generation of shock and expansion waves. Resonance phenomena can damage the structures around the cavity and negatively affect aerodynamic performance and stability. The flow field is observed to oscillate in the "shear layer mode" with low aspect ratio. In the present study, numerical analysis was performed for cavity flows by the unsteady compressible three dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations with Wilcox's $\kappa$-$\omega$ turbulence model. The flow field is observed to oscillate in the shear layer mode" with large aspect ratio. Based on the SPL(Sound Pressure Level) analysis of the pressure variation at the cavity trailing edge, the dominant frequency was analyzed and compared with the results of Rossiter's formul. The aero-acoustic wave analyzed with CPD(Correlation of Pressure Distribution).

  • This paper summarizes an experimental study on the marine propeller BPF noise. The main objective of this study is to show the worthiness of the noise measurement at the MOERI middle size cavitation tunnel and to acquire useful propeller noise data. Background noise of MOERI(Maritime and Ocean Engineering Research Institute) cavitation tunnel is experimentally analyzed. Experiment carried out in the MOERI cavitation tunnel with wake screen or dummy body, which is simulated the wake. Propeller BPF noise is measured under various operating conditions. In order to secure the reliance of measured propeller noise dada, background noise of each operating conditions are measured and analyzed. The noise characteristics are analyzed according to the operating condition.

  • The major source of noise in the process of transporting liquids is related to the cavitation phenomenon. The control valve noise is mostly dominated by bubble dynamics under cavitating conditions. In this investigation, an orifice configuration is set-up to correlate its flow-field and acoustic signatures with those from a control valve device. The performance and noise characteristics form the orifice configuration in anechoic surroundings were measured to reveal the noise sources depending on pressure differences across the orifice configuration. The sound powers from the orifice configuration are effectively normalized using proposed scaling parameters. Flow-excited dynamic systems for which there is no strong coupling between the flow and the system response can be described using a linear source-filter model. On this assumption, the normalized sound powers can be decomposed of noise source function and a response function. To find noise sources, pressure spectra measured over a range of pressure differences are transformed into the product of two non-dimensional frequency function : $P_{ss}(He,f_{ca},x/D) = F(f_{ca})\;G(He,x/D)$. This scheme of finding noise sources is shown to be applicable to the cavitation noise from the control valve effectively Two kinds of cavitating modes based on our experimental data are found and discussed.

입수 충격 수중 순간 소음에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Underwater Transient Noise Generated by Water-Entry Impact)

  • 본 연구에서는 입수 충격에 의한 수중 순간 소음을 연구하기 위해, 황해에서 발사대를 이용하여 해상 실험을 진행하였다. 해상시험선인 청해호 우현상에서 발사대를 이용하여 실린더 몸체를 수직으로 발사하였으며, 이때 발생하는 소음을 하이드로폰으로 측정하였다. 실험에서는 원통형, 원뿔형, 반구형 두부 형상을 가진 3가지 종류의 실린더 몸체가 사용되었다. 측정된 신호는 시간적으로 확연하게 구분되어 3단계로 전시되었다 : (1) 초기 충돌 및 물체 진동단계, (2) 개방 공동 유동 단계, (3) 공동 붕괴 및 거품 진동 단계. 대부분의 경우, 거품 진동 단계의 파형이 초기 충돌 및 물체 진동 단계에 비해 우세하게 나타났다. 공동이 붕괴되기 시작하는 핀치 오프 시간은 0.18 ~ 0.2 s에 발생하였으며, 평균 거품 지속 시간은 0.9 ~ 1.3 s로 지속되었다. 입수 충격 소음은 100 Hz 이하의 대역에서 에너지가 집중되어 있었으며, 생성되는 소음은 두부 형상, 물체 질량, 발사 속도에 의해 영향을 받았다. 결과적으로, 거품 주파수에서 에너지 스펙트럼 밀도의 크기는 원통형, 원뿔형, 반구형 순으로 나타났으며, 동일 입수체에 대해서는 초기 에너지가 클수록 거품 주파수에서 에너지 스펙트럼 밀도가 크게 나타났다. 최종적으로, 버블이 폭발하는 물리적 현상을 기반으로 모의된 신호와 계측 값간 비교 결과 만족스러운 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
