Damping Characteristic of Helmholtz Resonator according to Its Geometry and Sound Pressure Level (헬름홀쯔 공명기의 기하학적 형상과 가진 음압에 따른 감쇠 특성)

  • Damping characteristics of a Helmholtz resonator to passively control the combustion instability were investigated by linear acoustic analysis and atmospheric acoustic tests. Its orifice length and diameter were selected as the design parameters and supplied SPL(sound pressure level) effect on damping characteristics were investigated. Damping capacity is improved by decreasing the orifice length as well as by increasing the orifice diameter. Also, the results showed that the damping capacity of the resonator decreased nonlinearly about above 110 dB and instabilities in the nonlinear region were more effectively suppressed by increasing the orifice diameter.

  • ZPP (Zirconium-Potassium Perchlorate) is type of primary charge initiators for PMD (Pyrotechnic Mechanical Device) system. The binder component dissolved in the solvent is precipitated to suspended particles in the granules. The LabRAM Mixer uses resonance phenomenon to transfer energy, unlike blade equipment that utilizes mechanical contact. In this study, the properties of the particles prepared by the LabRAM Mixer were evaluated with the changes of the conditions.

  • The space between tire and wheel guard acts as a path for tire pattern noise transmission. In this study, acoustic phenomenon occurring in the tire-wheel guard space is investigated using acoustic mode analysis and visualization of the sound pressure distribution over the wheel guard surface. We introduced a cavity over the wheel guard surface to reduce the tire pattern noise, where the cavity acts as an acoustic damper. The interior noise was reduced by 2 dB(A), and the noise control measures treated in this study may provide an efficient method to improve interior sound quality without increasing cost and weight at the final stage of the vehicle development.

Development of the Syringe Experiment Device for the Education of Sound Resonance (소리 공명 교육을 위한 주사기 실험기구 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the syringe experiment device which is able to analyze the relationship between the length of the air pillar and resonance frequencies quantitatively for the education of sound resonance. We made an air pillar resonance device with a 'Head', which is used by the disposable syringe and the plastic sphere for constructing molecular models. We also assembled PC experiment equipment which is used by commercial software. As a result, it appears this equipment can be used instead of the current device used by experts. It was proved that this syringe device is not the 'pipe' but the 'Helmholtz resonator'. It appears that data through resonance experiments can prove the sound resonance phenomenon. In conclusion, this syringe resonator is the experiment device that can be used in the gifted education for middle-high school students and acoustic experiments for university students.

차실 내부소음의 특성과 저감에 관한 실험적 고찰(하)

  • 승용차의 차실 내부소음 특성 및 저감에 과한 일련의 고찰로 다음의 결론을 얻었다. (1) 차실 내부소음의 주된 근원은 회전속도의 제이고주파에 해당되는 주파수 성분이 지배적이다. (2) 차실 공진(명) 음은 engine으로부터의 진동 입력에 대한 차체의 ring mode 공진 및 차실 공명현상으로 발생되며 실험 결과는 종래의 연구 결과들과 잘 일치되었다. (3) 차실 내부소음이 차체의 구조, 진동 및 실내 음향공영에 크게 의존하기 때문에, 이 두가지 요소로써 문제의 발견이 가능하며 이들을 이용한 저감대책 수립은 효과적이다. (4) 차실 내부소음의 저감을 위하여 구조적damping이나 흡음재의 적절한 사용 등이 다소의 효 과를 주나 공진(명) 음의 근본적인 대책이 되지 못하며, 차실 공명 특성을 변화시키는 것은 사 실상 불가능하다. (5) 차체의 구조적 진동 특성을 고려하여 보강된 차량의 경우 문제 영역에서의 현저한 소음감 소효과가 얻어졌다. 그러나 이와 같은 방안의 적용은 개발의 초기 단계에서 실시됨이 바람직하다.

  • This paper presents a new method for determining L, Cs, and Cp in a series parallel resonant inverter. This inverter is suitable for driving high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps. The operating frequency is selected to avoid acoustic resonances which are governed by the size and shape of the arc tube. L, Cs and Cp, are chosen to satisfy the ignition and steady state requirements of the lamp. Equations are developed to analyze the starting condition and steady state operating condition of the lamp. For the prototype ballast for a 250W Metal Halide Lamp, experimental results are presented in order to validate the proposed method.

  • 본 논문은 램프 점등을 위한 공진회로와 정상상태에서의 저주파수 구형파(low frequency square-wave) 인버터 전류 제어를 실현하는 HID 전자식 안정기에 풀브리지 인버터(FB)와 LC 필터를 제안한다. 점등은 LC필터의 공진주파수에서 풀브리지 인버터 제어에 의한 공진에 의해서 이루어지고, 점등 후에 회로는 풀브리지 제어에 의해 벅컨버터 저주파수 구형파 인버터로 동작한다. 점등이 일어나는 동안의 LC필터의 공진주파수는 ($f_o$=120kHz)이고, 고조파를 감소시키고 음향공명현상을 피하기 위한 벅컨버터스위칭 주파수($f_{sw}$=50kHz)를 선택하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Buck Converter 동작 원리를 이용한 Full-Bridge Inverter를 제안하였다. 제안한 Full-Bridge Inverter는 왼쪽 브리지와 오른쪽 브리지의 구동 주파수를 각각 저주파와 고주파로 구동하여 Buck Converter의 동작과 유사하게 하였다. 동작은 두 가지 모드로 구분되며, 이로 인해 램프에 저주파수 구형파를 인가한다. 램프를 저주파수 구형파로 구동하여 음향공명현상을 피하게 되었으며, 고주파 스위칭으로 인덕터의 부피를 줄였다. 제안한 방법은 시뮬레이션을 통해 증명하였다.

  • This paper deals with a design and fabrication of an electronic ballast for 70[W] ceramic discharge metal halide lamps. The proposed ballast is composed of a rectifier, an active power factor correction circuit (PFC), a half-bridge inverter, a LC resonant circuit and a microprocessor. The developed ballast also includes a specially designed time circuit which provides reignition signal of lamps. Running frequency of the ballast is .jet at 40[kHz] to avoid acoustic-resonance and flickering. From the experimental results, input power factor and efficiency of the ballast are estimated 99.8[%] and 93.1[%], respectively.
