A Study on Audio-Visual Interactive Art interacting with Sound -Focused on 21C Boogie Woogie (사운드에 반응하는 시청각적인 인터랙티브 아트에 관한 연구)

  • Art is the product from the combination of politics, economy, and social and cultural aspects. Recent development of digital media has affected on the expansion of visual expression in art. Digital media allow artists to use sound and physical interaction as well as image as an plastic element for making a work of art. Also, digital media help artists create an interactive, synaesthetic and visual perceptive environment by combining viewers' physical interaction with the reconstruction of image, sound, light, and among other plastic elements. This research was focused on the analysis of the relationship between images in art work and the viewer and data visualization using sound from the perspective of visual perception. This research also aimed to develop an interactive art by visualizing physical data with sound generating from outer stimulus or the viewer. Physical data generating from outer sound can be analyzed in various aspects. For example, Sound data can be analyzed and sampled within pitch, volume, frequency, and etc. This researcher implemented a new form of media art through the visual experiment of LED light triggered by sound frequency generating from viewers' voice or outer physical stimulus. Also, this researcher explored the possibility of various visual image expression generating from the viewer's reaction to illusionary characteristics of light(LED), which can be transformed within external physical data in real time. As the result, this researcher used a motif from Piet Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie in order to implement a visual perceptive interactive work reacting with sound. Mondrian tried to approach at the essence of visual object by eliminating unnecessary representation elements and simplifying them in painting and making them into abstraction consisting of color, vertical and horizontal lines. This researcher utilized Modrian's simplified visual composition as a representation metaphor in oder to transform external sound stimulus into the element of light(LED), and implemented an environment inducing viewers' participation, which is a dynamic composition maximizing a synaesthetic expression, differing from Modrian's static composition.

  • The fast advance in the VoIP technologies gives a rich opportunity to create different kind of VoIP applications such as IP telephony services. The application level call signaling protocols such as ITU-T H.323 and IETF SIP provide the communication functions of end-to-end call setup and release. Currently, there is a lot of H.323 based VoIP products in the market, however SIP is considered as a suitable protocol for supporting applications in IP environments, so SIP based VoIP products and services begin to appear. In this paper, firstly we present the characteristics of some possible SIP based applications and describe the design and implementation of a VoIP example service named PC-to-PC Internet telephony service using the developed SIP network components. The PC-to-PC Internet telephony service and User Agent are developed in MS window 98/2000 using visual C/C++, and Proxy server and Registrar in Linux 7.0 using C, respectively.

A Study on Channel Equalization in Time Varying Channels for Mobile Communication System (이동통신 시스템의 Time Varying 채널 환경에서 채널 등화에 관한 연구)

  • The third generation mobile communications system requiring the reliable multimedia data transmission has provided with the reliable voice, data and video services over the variable propagation environment. However the broadband wireless multiple access technologies cause Inter Symbol Interference(ISI) or Multiple Access Interference(MAI) to degrade the performance of CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) system. Constant Modulus Algorithm which is frequently used as the adaptive blind equalizers to remove the interfering signal has ill-convergence phenomenon without proper initialization. In this paper, new blind equalization method based on conventional CMA is proposed to improve the channel efficiency, and through computer simulation this is tested over the time varying fading environment of mobile communication system. consequently, new blind equalization method into concatenated Kalman filter with CMA is verified better than conventional CMA through adopting minimum mean square errors and eye-pattern obtained from algorithm are compared.

  • A art from the typical data services based on 1:1 data communications, various new services based on 1:N communications have recently appeared. These services are becoming to require advanced 1:N communication schemes which can transfer the same data to many receivers efficiently and in high-performance. Especially, a Push-To-Talk (PTT) service, which is an important service in public safety communication system, requires a service server to disseminate the same voice media data to multiple receivers in a group in real-time and low latency. In this paper, we propose an efficient scheme to disseminate the same data to multiple receivers in low latency. In addition, we provide an analysis which gives a guide the performance of the 1:N communications in practical wired/wireless system environments in the perspective of the PTT service index.

텔레바이오인식기반 비대면 인증기술 표준화 동향

  • 바이오인식기술은 사람의 지문 얼굴 홍채 정맥 등 신체적 특징(Physiological characteristics) 또는 음성 서명 자판 걸음걸이 등 행동적 특징(Behavioral characteristics)을 자동화된 IT 기술로 추출 저장하여 다양한 IT 기기로 개인의 신원을 확인하는 사용자 인증기술이다. 2001년 미국의 911 테러사건으로 인하여 전 세계 국제공항 항만 국경에서 지문 얼굴 홍채 등 바이오정보를 이용한 출입국심사가 보편화됨과 동시에 ISO/IEC JTC1 SC37(바이오인식) 국제표준화기구를 중심으로 표준화가 급속도로 진행되어 왔다. 최근 들어 스마트폰 테블릿 PC 등 모바일기기에 지문 얼굴 등 바이오정보를 탑재하여 다양한 모바일 응용서비스를 가능하게 해주는 모바일 바이오인식 응용기술이 전 세계적으로 개발 보급되고, 삼성전자 페이팔 중심으로 바이오인식기술을 이용한 모바일 지급결제솔루션에 대한 사실표준화협의체인 FIDO, ITU-T SG17 Q9(텔레바이오인식) 국제표준화기구를 중심으로 표준화가 진행되고 있다. 특히 이러한 모바일 바이오인식기술은 스마트폰을 통한 비대면 인증기술 수단으로서 핀테크의 중요한 요소기술로 작용될 전망이다. 한편, 위조지문 등 전통적인 바이오인식 기술의 위변조 위협으로 인한 우려도 증폭됨에 따라 스마트워치 등 웨어러블 디바이스에서 살아있는 사람의 심박수(심전도), 뇌파 등의 생체신호를 측정하여 스마트폰을 통하여 개인을 식별하는 차세대 바이오인식기술로 진화중에 있다. 본고에서는 바이오인식기술의 변천사와 함께 국내외 모바일 바이오인식기술 동향과 표준화 추진현황을 살펴보고, 지난 2015년 5월 29일 발족한 KISA "모바일 생체신호 인증기술 표준연구회"를 통하여 뇌파 심전도 등생체신호를 이용한 차세대 바이오인식 기술 및 표준화 계획을 수립하여 향후 바이오인식기반의 비대면 인증기술에 대한 추진전략을 모색하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, in order to help one to write contents for education in such a way to increase effectiveness, we implement SMIL editor, which helps anyone to author contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way based on multimeda language SMIL. Thanks to its interface which utilizes WYSIWYGT, this editor allows teachers or other users who do not know SMIL to write contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way and to check in a real time how a partially completed document work and to revise when it is not satisfactory. It also allows one to write contents with explanations to help learning because usable multimedia objects can be inserted. This editor helps the user to reduce his inconvenience that he has in memorizing SMIL tags and to reduce his time and offers in writing the documents.

Effect of Pt/Al2O3-based Catalysts on Removal Efficiency of Hydrogen (Pt/Al2O3계 촉매의 특성이 수소제어 활성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • In this study, a wet impregnation method was applied to catalysts based on the active metal Pt in order to confirm the oxidation characteristics of various commercial alumina supports at room temperature. The catalysts were characterized using XPS, CO-chemisorption, and BET. Various $Pt/Al_2O_3$ catalysts controlled the oxygen species of Pt by the electronegativity of electrons and charges when the catalyst was prepared according to the heat treatment conditions. The reason that the dispersion degree decreases with increasing Pt loading seems to be attributed to HT (Huttig Temperature) of Pt. In addition, the minimum hydrogen concentration that can be controlled at room temperature can control hydrogen from metallic Pt up to 1.0 vol% at over 70.09% in the catalyst.

  • In this paper, we developed an intelligent minimized integrated digital public address which can provide context awareness of various events occurring in future intelligent buildings. It is able to recognize both voices and sounds, such as a fire bell and a disaster bell, which signal to escape in emergence situations and it can sense information which is sent from various sensors, for example, the inner temperature, humidity, and environment status in an intelligent building. Also, the intelligent digital integrated public address can broadcast information to individual places, according to context awareness that is from sensing information, by using network with an ID. And we are developing a minimized integrated digital public address system that has facilities such as external input, Mic., CD, MP3 and Radio. Developing an integrated digital public address system with operational MICOM will make it possible to control the facilities of digital devices centrally. The operational MICOM is composed of 3 layers which are a control layer, a processing layer and a user interface layer.

  • In the case of the existing remote collaboration, the remote support service-oriented system is not suitable for the use of the field-oriented multi-person remote collaboration system. This paper is a remote collaboration system development for various industrial sites. We develop remote support and work management that faces the various needs of industrial sites, real-time video remote support between workers, and real-time voice work sharing between workers. In addition, The goal of the development aims to increase the usability by strengthening the security function through encryption in the video and to develop a more efficient system. Finally, the development contents are the remote management and the support software development, Android app development for worker, WebRTC-based remote collaboration system construction and development, and prototype development. These products are expected to increase demand and increase sales by installing and operating at industrial sites, and can promote manpower training, understanding trending technologies, and improving capabilities.
