A Study on the Experimental Relationship between KS CBR and Elastic Modulus from Consolidated Undrained Triaxial Tests (CBR과 압밀 비배수 시험에 의한 탄성계수와의 상관관계에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, relationships between CBR values tested by Korean Standards (KS CBR) and the elastic moduli from CU compression tests are developed for the subgrade soils. Triaxial compression and KS CBR tests are carried out on five types of samples from 15 points in Korean ezpressways. Triaxial compression tests are performed under 3 types of coifining pressures to generalize the CBR -elastic modulus relationship as functions of confining pressured and mean principal stresses. From the regression analyses of experimental results, equations for relationships between the KS CBR and elastic moduli of roadbed Boils are proposed. An equation for the relation- ship between the KS CBR and the maximum dry density of roadbed soil is also proposed.

Stability Analysis of Vertical Pipeline Subjected to Underground Excavation (지하공간 굴착에 따른 수직파이프 구조물의 안정성해석)

  • Deformation behavior and stability of vertical pipeline subjected to underground excavation have been studied by means of numerical analysis. Vortical ground displacements cause the pipe to be compressed, while horizontal ones cause it to be bent. In that region the vertical pipeline meets with the induced compressive stress and bending stress. In addition horizontal rock stress subjected to underground excavation may press the tube in its radial direction and it finally produces the tangential stress of pipe. In this study active gas well system is considered as an example of vertical pipelines. Factor analysis has been conducted which has great influence on the pipeline behavior. Three case studies are investigated which have the different pillar widths and gas well locations in pillar. For example, where overburden depth is 237.5 m and thickness of coal seam is 2.5 m, chain pillar of 45.8 m width in the 3-entry longwall system is proved to maintain safely the outer casing of gas welt which is made of API-55 steel, 10$\frac{3}{4}$ in. diameter and 0.4 in. thickness. Finally an active gas well which was broken by longwall mining is analyzed, where the induced shear stress turn out to exceed the allowable stress of steel.

Assessment Method of Geosynthetic Pullout Resistance Considering Soil Confinement Effect (구속효과를 고려한 토목섬유의 인발저항력 평가기법)

  • In this study, an assessment method was proposed to evaluate the pullout resistance between geosynthetic and backill soil by using a stress-strain relationship of the orthotropic composite material subjected to both longitudinal and vertical loadings. For this analysis friction characteristics of geosynthetic-soil and stress-strain relationships subjected to soil confined pressure were investigated by performing the laboratory pullout tests for three types of geosynthetics and performing the confined extension tests far seven types of geosynthetics having geotextiles, composite geosynthetics and geogrids. A comparison was made between unconfined an confined moduli far each geosynthetic material to quantify the soil confinement effect on stress-strain properties. A comparison was also made between the relative increase of moduli at the same strain level among the seven geosynthetic materials to demonstrate the different responses of these geosynthetic materials under soil confinement. Based on the proposed procedure, it was shown that values of the increased tensile force are applicable fur the evaluation of friction strengths between five types of geosynthetics and sands in light of the soil confinement effect.

Cyclic Shear Strength of Anisotropically Consolidated Snnd (비등방 압밀 모래의 반복 전단강도)

  • This paper is focused on studying the undrained cyclic triaxial behavior of saturated Nak-dong River sand, using anisotropically consolidated specimens. A test of isotropically consolidated specimens was performed to compare the results of the anisotropically consolidated specimens. The cyclic shear stre3ngth of the sand under various combinations of initial static shear stress and relative density was considered. Failure was defined as a 5% double amplitude cyclic strain and a 5% residual axial strain for both reversal stress and no reversal stress conditions. Using this definition, the cyclic strength of the anisotropically consolidated specimens was affected by the initial static shear stress. For anisotropically consolidated Nak-dong River dense sand, the cyclic strength is greater than that of Toyolura silica sand but is smaller than that of Dogs Bay carbonate sand. By comparing the experimental and predictecl results, it was possible to predict the residual pore pressure of Nak-dong River sand using Hyodo's model with initial static shear stress subjected cyclic loading.

한국에서 대통력 사용 시기에 관한 연구

  • 일반적으로 한국에서 대통력은 고려시대 공민왕 19년(1370)부터 효종 3년(1652)까지 사용된 것으로 알려져 있다. 이는 "고려사"의 "홍무 3년의 대통력을 보내니$\cdots$"와 "증보문헌비고" 상위고의 "효종 4년(1653)에 비로소 시헌력법을 시행하였다"라는 기록에 근거한 것이다. 특히 "증보문헌비고"의 기록과 관련해서는 효종 4년부터 시헌력을 사용하였다는 주장과 효종 4년에 도입하여 5년(1654)부터 사용하였다는 엇갈린 주장들이 있다. 이 연구에서는 한국에서의 대통력 사용 시기를 검증하기 위해 대통력법에 의한 역일 계산 프로그램을 개발하고, 고문헌 및 현존하는 당시 역서들을 분석을 하였으며 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대통력이 1370년부터 사용되었는지에 대해서는 제고의 여지가 있지만 적어도 1389년부터는 사용된 것으로 추정된다. 둘째, 조선시대에는 대통력이 효종 4년까지 사용되었고 시헌력은 효종 4년에 도입되어 효종 5년부터 시행되었음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 셋째, "정미년(1667)에 이르러 대통력법으로 고쳐 사용하다가 경술년(1670)부터 도로 시헌력을 사용하였다"라는 "조선왕조실록"의 기록(현종 12년 8월 8일)은 사실임을 검증 할 수 있었다. 관련하여 대통력법에 의하면 1669년에는 윤12월이 있지만 1670년에 다시 시헌력을 도입하게 됨으로써 실제로는 사용되지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 선행 연구들에 일부 음력 초하루 일진의 오류가 있음을 발견하였다. 마지막으로, 당시 역서는 보름일자를 정할 때 한양의 일출입분 시각을 참고하였음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이번 연구를 통해 문헌 기록과는 독립적으로 대통력법 시행기간의 각 달의 대소 및 음력 초하루의 일진, 매년의 각 절기 일자 및 시간, 윤달 등을 계산할 수 있게 되었으며, 이는 향후 조선시대 역서 연구에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

Preliminary Mission Design of Transfer Orbit of a Lunar Lander Launched by a Korean Space Launch Vehicle (국내 발사체를 이용한 달착륙선 발사시 전이 궤도 예비 임무 설계)

  • The preliminary mission analysis of a lunar lander, which is mounted on the upper stage of a Korean space launch vehicle, is performed when landing on the moon through a trans-lunar injection maneuver after being injected into the earth's low orbit by th launcher in this paper. Both direct landing and orbital landing methods, which have each advantage and disadvantages, are applied and their transfer orbit characteristics are analyzed according to the launch date when launching in lunar October 2030. We also analyzed the launch dates which satisfying eclipse conditions, solar elevation conditions, and tracking time intervals such as the US lunar lander Surveyor-1. The obtained results show that the most appropriate launch date is the 4th day of lunar October in case of direct landing method, and the 3rd day in case of indirect landing method, since the argument of perigee of the trans-lunar injection orbit and eclipse conditions are favorable in the dates.

A numerical study on the residual stress in LED encapsulment silicone considering cure process (경화공정을 고려한 LED 패키징 실리콘의 잔류음력에 대한 수치해석적 고찰)

  • Silicone is recently used for LED chip encapsulment due to its good thermal stability and optical transmittance. In order to predict residual stress which causes optical briefringence and mechanical warpage of silicone, finite element analysis was conducted for both curing and cooling process during silicone molding. For analysis of curing process, a cure kinetics model was derived based on the differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) test and applied to the material properties for finite element analysis. Finite element simulation result showed that the curing as well as the cooling process should be designed carefully so as to reduce the residual stress although the cooling process plays the bigger role than curing process in determining the final residual stress state.

Influence of Aspect Ratio on Friction Characteristics in Rectangular Gas Microchannel Flow (사각 미세채널 유동에서 마찰특성에 미치는 종횡비의 영향)

  • 미세유동에 대한 폭발적인 관심에 의해 이 분야의 연구는 다양한 측면에서 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 사각 미세채널에서의 슬립유동에 관한 연구 중 아직 제대로 이루어져 있지 않은 마찰특성에 관한 종횡비의 영향에 초점을 맞추어 3차원 수치해석을 행하였다. 그 결과 종횡비가 1.0 일 때 상하 벽면 및 좌우측 벽면에서의 전단음력은 동일하나, 종횡비가 감소함에 따라 전단응력은 상하 벽면과 좌우측 벽면이 상이한 강도로 증가함을 보였다. 또한 Knudsen 수의 증가에 따라서는 전단응력이 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 벽면에서의 전단응력은 종횡비를 증가시키거나 혹은 Knudsen 수를 증가시키면 감소시킬 수 있으며, 마찰계수(fRe)도 종횡비를 증가시키거나 혹은 Knudsen 수를 증가시키면 감소됨을 밝혔다.

폴리머/금속 다층구조의 기계적 특성의 실시간 측정방법

  • 폴리머 박막은 반도체 패키징, MEMS 구조물은 물론 MCM-D 등의 기술에도 널리 쓰이고 있다. 또한 대부분 폴리머/금속의 다층구조의 형태를 띠고 있어 이 상태의 기계적 특성의 이해는 더욱 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 폴리머 박막의 기계적 특성을 측정하기 위한 새로운 방법이 제안된다. 제안된 방법은 최근 발달된 마이크로머시닝기술을 사용하여 구현된 공진형 스트링구조를 이용하게된다. 폴리머 기계적 특성치와 스트링의 공진특성은 서로 상관 관계를 갖게되며 이러한 공진특성의 측정은 기계적 특성의 실시간 관찰을 가능하게 해준다. 본 논문에서는 공진형 스트링을 이용하여 폴리이미드의 잔류음력과 폴리이미드/금속간의 접착 내구성을 정량화하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 측정방법은 단순히 스트링구조 뿐만 아니라 다른 기계적 구조에도 응용이 가능하다.

Estimation Model on Stress of Structures using TLS and FEM (TLS와 FEM을 이용한 구조물의 음력평가 모델 개발)

  • Terrestrial Laser Scanning(TLS) was developed at the mid-to-late 1990s. This technique enables to perform reconnaissance surveying of regions or structures hard to access. Besides, TLS has been extended its application gradually such as preservation of historical remains, underground surveys, slopes, glaciers monitoring and so on. However, though the technique has a lot of advantages, an application for structural health and safety monitoring is a beginning stage and it need much research. Therefore in this study, as a groundwork, the estimation model on stress of structures using TLS and Finite Element Method(FEM) applied by the Digital Elevation Model(DEM) technique of geoinformatics is proposed. For the verification of this model, experiments were performed with a continuous steel beam subjected to point loads and outputs were compared with those of electrical strain sensors.
