Hash chain based Group Key Management Mechanism for Smart Grid Environments (스마트그리드 환경에 적용 가능한 해쉬체인 기반의 그룹키 관리 메커니즘)

  • Smart Grid is the next-generation intelligent power grid that maximizes energy efficiency with the convergence of IT technologies and the existing power grid. It enables consumers to check power rates in real time for active power consumption. It also enables suppliers to measure their expected power generation load, which stabilizes the operation of the power system. However, there are high possibility that various kinds of security threats such as data exposure, data theft, and privacy invasion may occur in interactive communication with intelligent devices. Therefore, to establish a secure environment for responding to such security threat with the smart grid, the key management technique, which is the core of the development of a security mechanism, is required. Using a hash chain, this paper suggests a group key management mechanism that is efficiently applicable to the smart grid environment with its hierarchical structure, and analyzes the security and efficiency of the suggested group key management mechanism.

  • Objective of this study is to design and implement security system based on intrusion tolerance technology for the improvement of dependability in defense system. In order to do so, I identify and extract core technologies through the research and analysis into characteristics, structures, main functions, and technologies of intrusion tolerance architecture. And I accomplish a design of security system through the redundant system based on these core technologies. To implement and verify intrusion tolerance system, I chose 'wargame system' as a subjected system, and accomplished 'Wargame Intrusion Tolerance System' and verified security required functions through a performance test. By applying showed security system into the development of application software based on intrusion tolerance, systematic and efficient system could be developed. Also applying 'WITDS' can solve the current security problems, and this will be basic model for design of security architecture in the federation system after.

Characteristics of Science-Engineering Integrated Lessons Contributed to the Improvement of Creative Engineering Problems Solving Propensity (창의공학적 문제해결성향에 기여한 과학-공학 융합수업의 특성)

  • This study is to investigate the effects and characteristics of science and engineering integrated lessons on elementary students' creative engineering problem solving propensity (CEPSP). The science and engineering integrated lessons used in this study was a 10 lesson-hours STEM program, co-developed by University of Minnesota and Purdue University. The program was implemented in the 6th grade science class of H Elementary School located in P Metropolitan city. The main data of this study are the pre-post CEPSP result and interview with 5 students collected before and after the research. The CEPSP result was analyzed by a paired-sample t-test and hierarchical cluster analysis. As a result of the t-test, it was found that overall, the program has a positive effect on the students' CEPSP score. As a result of cluster analysis, it was confirmed that studnets' CEPSP could be classified into two groups (lower and higher score cluster). Five students whose, CEPSP score has significantly improved after the lessons were interviewed to find out what the characteristics of the program that contribute the significant change are. As a result of conducting centroid analysis of the interview transcription and the hybrid analysis method, it was found that the meaningful experiences that the five students commonly shared were 'problem solving through collaboration' and 'through repeated experiments (redesign)', problem solving' and 'utilization of scientific knowledge'. As minor reactions, 'choice of the best experimental method' and 'difference between science and engineering' appeared.
