A descriptive correlation research design was used for this study. The subjects were 299 nursing students in two large cities from 1 June to 31 July 2015. Collected data were analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and stepwise multiple regression by the SPSS 22.0 program. Awareness of the Code of Ethics for nurses was positively correlated with the consciousness of biomedical ethics(p<0.001), moral sensitivity(p<0.001), and critical thinking disposition(p<0.001). However, there were negative correlations between grade(p=0.017), marital state(p=0.012), and the possibility of increasing ethical problems according to the development of bioscience(p=0.012). Significant influencing factors of the awareness of the Code of Ethics for nurses included grade(p=0.013), marital state(p=0.030), consciousness of biomedical ethics(p=0.017), moral sensitivity(p<0.001), and critical thinking disposition(p=0.001), with apower of explanation of 26.3%. This study is a descriptive survey study that attempted to confirm clinical nurses' consciousness of biomedical ethics, moral sensitivity, critical thinking deposition, and nursing ethics code of clinical nurses, as well as to identify the factors influencing the recognition of the nursing code of ethics. The general and ethical characteristics of the subject were calculated by frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and the difference for each variable according to the general and ethical characteristics was analyzed using SAS 9.4, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé test. The average, standard deviation, and the minimum and maximum values were used for the scores of each variable, and the correlation was determined using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Multiple regression was used to identify the factors that influence the recognition of the nurse's code of ethics. All variables showed significant correlations. Critical thinking deposition (p<.05) was the most influential variable in recognizing the code of ethics for nurses. Critical thinking deposition (p<.001), consciousness in biomedical ethics (p<.001), and moral sensitivity (p<.001) were shown to be affected in order, with 27.4% explaining power. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply educational programs to clinical nurses that can improve critical thinking, life and bioethics, and moral sensitivity.

Nevertheless, there has been no tool that can measure ethical sensitivity of social workers in our country up to now. Through analysis of existing ethical sensitivity tests in other professions, a paper and pencil method about unstructured question with cases including ethical issues and structured scoring system was chosen as an appropriate method for the SWEST. This study progressed in order : 1st collecting cases, 2nd composing cases, 3rd consulting cases, 4th pilot study, 5th making scoring standards, 6th determining case examples and scoring standards. With the result, the tool consists of 3 case examples with ethical issues : 1) self-determination and confidentiality, 2) equality and double relationship, 3) informed consent and conflict interest. And ethical sensitivities of social work major students and social workers were measured with the SWEST, to see practical utility of this test. The agreement degrees between two independent raters were above 90%. This study was attempted to suggest future directions for nursing ethics education by analyzing research trends related to ethical conflicts among nurses and the current status of nursing ethics education. In four domestic databases, it was searched as a combination of words 'nurse', 'ethics', 'moral', 'bioethics', 'conflict', 'sensitivity', 'dilemma', 'issue', and 'value'. As a result, 591 papers were confirmed from 2000 to December 2021, of which 111 papers were finally analyzed. The status of nursing ethics education was analyzed for 184 out of 203 schools that operated a four-year bachelor's degree program registered with the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. As a result of the study, the number of studies related to ethical conflicts among nurses steadily increasing, and quantitative studies on nurses in general hospitals were the most common. The main keywords were identified as moral sensitivity, moral agony, ethical dilemma, and biomedical ethics awareness. Nursing ethics education was operated by 68% of universities as a major subject, and more than half of universities opened it in the first and second grades with one or two credits. As a result of this study, ethical conflicts experienced by nurses are increasing according to social change. Therefore, it is necessary for universities to further expand the proportion of nursing ethics education and to establish an educational model for each grade level for the continuity of the educational effect.
