Estimation of the Tsunami Force Acting on Onshore Oil Storage Tanks and Houses (육상저유탱크 및 육상가옥에 작용하는 지진해일파력의 추정)

  • This study investigated the tsunami force acting on onshore structures using a numerical program, three-dimensional one-field model for immiscible multi-phase flows, which is based on Navier-Stokes solver. In this paper, the characteristics of tsunami of oil storage tank and house structures studied to the distance between the seawall and structure. In addition, the study compared and analyzed the tsunami forces determined by considering drag force only and considering both drag and inertia forces. These numerical results were compared with the design standard. As a results, the case of considering the both forces is more close to numerical result than that of considering the drag force only.

  • This study investigates tsunami force acting on a group of onshore structures numerically by using three-dimensional one-field model for immiscible multi-phase flows, which is based on Navier-Stokes solver. In particular, we studied on the characteristics of tsunami with respect to the arrangement of onshore structures and the distance from seawall trough numerical experiments. For validation of the numerical method used in this study to calculate tsunami force, numerical results for tsunami force on the structures in coastal area are compared with available experimental data. Furthermore, a detail study on the efficiency of the numerical method is performed for the estimation of tsunami force based on the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic methods in which the numerical results are used. The obtained results are compared to the previous experimental one and design criteria. Considering both experimental results and numerical analysis results, semi-empirical formula by regression analysis is proposed. As a result, it was confirmed that the numerical analysis is effective to estimate on tsunami force acting on onshore structures.

  • 최근 들어 구조물이 대형화되고 급속히 시공되는 경향이 증가함에 따라 구조물에 대한 변위측정은 시공중인 구조물뿐만 아니라, 그 사후관리 및 안전성 여부를 파악하는데 중요한 기초자료로 활용되고 있다. 특히, 해상에서 실시되는 방조제나 안벽 공사 등에서는 육상구조물에 비해 변위측정에 여러 가지 제약이 따른다. 이와 같은 해상 토목구조물의 거동을 다각적으로 파악하기 위한 연직 방향 및 평면 변위 측정에 GPS를 적용하면 신속하고 정확한 변위측정 자료를 획득할수 있다. (중략)

  • Module can be categorized as PAS(Pre-Assembled Steel structure), PAR(Pre-Assembled pipe Rack), PAU(Pre-Assembled Unit), VAU(Vendor Assembled Unit) and VPU(Vendor Package Unit). At the stage of design and fabrication of module, the condition of land and ocean transportation is considered and these conditions are reflected on the module division design. The control of the module's center of gravity is important to transport and install modules safely and the steel structure should have the strength enough to resist the sea acceleration force during the ocean transportation. The transportation condition and the installation method influence the size and weight of module. The size and weight of module are considered for the design of module division.

Numerical Analysis of Runup and Wave Force Acting on Coastal Revetment and Onshore Structure due to Tsunami (해안안벽과 육상구조물에서 지진해일파의 처오름 및 작용파력에 관한 수치해석)

  • In this work, wave run-up heights and resultant wave forces on a vertical revetment due to tsunami (solitary wave) are investigated numerically using a numerical wave tank model called CADMAS-SURF (CDIT, 2001. Research and Development of Numerical Wave Channel (CADMAS-SURF). CDIT library, No. 12, Japan.), which is based on a 2-D Navier-Stokes solver, coupled to a volume of fluid (VOF) method. The third order approximate solution (Fenton, 1972. A ninth-order solution for the solitary wave. J. of Fluid Mech., Vol. 53, No.2, pp.257-271) is used to generate solitary waves and implemented in original CADMAS-SURF code. Numerical results of the wave profiles and forces are in good agreements with available experimental data. Using the numerical results, the regression curves determined from the least-square analysis are proposed, which can be used to determine the maximum wave run-up height and force on a vertical revetment due to tsunami. In addition, the capability of CADMAS-SURF is demonstrated for tsunami wave forces acting on an onshore structure using various configuration computations including the variations of the crown heights of the vertical wall and the position of the onshore structure. Based on the numerical results such as water level, velocity field and wave force, the direct effects of tsunami on an onshore structure are discussed.

  • The tsunami flood the coastal cities and damage the land structures. The study on wave pressure and force on land structures is one of the important factors in designing the stability of inland structures. In this study, two - dimensional wave flume tests on the horizontal wave force and pressure of tsunamis on a simplified box-type structure was conducted. Vertical distribution and wave power of horizontal wave pressure over time were measured by pressure sensors and force transducer. Also, those were measured from the different wave breaking types. The vertical distribution of horizontal wave pressure was uniform at the moment when the horizontal wave force to the structure was maximum under the breaking wave condition. A surf similarity parameter was employed in order to figure out the relationship between the maximum horizontal wave force on the structure as a function of various incident wave conditions. As a result, the non - dimensionalized horizontal wave force tends to decrease exponentially as the surf similarity parameter increases.

  • 선박 거주구는 승무원 및 여객들이 상주하는 곳으로서 대형 상선의 경우 주선체 상부에 건물형태의 높은 구조이므로, 선박의 불균형력과 프로펠러 기진력으로 인해 주 선체와 연성되어 진동이 발생한다. 대형상선의 거주구는 육상구조물과는 달리 주선체와 마찬가지로 강성은 일정하나 화물적재량의 변화에 따라 선박 거주구의 유효질량이 변화함으로 가변적인 진동특성을 갖는 구조물 중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 가변 동특성을 갖는 대형상선의 거주구 진동을 수동형 및 능동형 흡진장치를 통하여 제어할 경우 거주구의 고유진동수 변화에 따른 제어성능의 변화를 반영할 수 있으면서도 제어성능과 안정성이 뛰어난 강건제어 시스템의 설계 가능성을 수치 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하고자 하였다. 적용대상은 진동문제가 많이 발생하는 컨테이너 운반선과 초대형 원유운반선의 거주구 진동특성을 3차원 유한 요소법을 이용하여 검토하고, 실험적인 방법으로는 거주구 형태의 구조물의 질량변화에 대한 동조형 흡진기의 제어성능을 시험과 선형이차 진동제어 장치의 진동제어성능 실험결과를 소개하고자 한다.

  • 육상의 자원고갈로 인한 해양자원의 관심 증가로 플랜트 사업의 수요가 증가함에 따라 플로팅 구조물의 안전성 확보를 위한 구조해석이 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 범용 유한요소 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 사용하여 3차원 플로팅 구조물의 상부구조물에 정적하중과 진폭의 크기가 다른 파랑하중을 적용하여 모멘트 및 변위를 비교한다.

  • It has an important meaning that the maintenance and management of facility for a onshore construction shall be damaged by oceanic environment. A movement and displacement of these shall be investigated by up-to-date machinery tools like GPS and Lidar and MBES & Gyro. In current a lot of tools and methods for investigation shall be used as a displacement and movement on land mainly. For underwater facility it is very difficult to check because of special conditions below the water surface. In this study, a surveying methods for a movement and displacement of underwater facility as caisson shall be used, i.e. multibeam-echo-sounding system. A possibility as basic data for displacement and environmental monitoring shall be studied by MBES to acquire a caisson's inclination.
