X-선 회절분석을 이용한 일라이트-스멕타이트 기본입자의 적층성에 관한 연구

  • 일라이트-스멕타이트 혼합층광물(I-S)은 열역학적으로 상호 대립적인 두 가지 모델로 이해되고 있다. 첫째, MacEwan 결정자 모델은 I-S를 5-20개의 스멕타이트와 일라이트 층으로 구성된 결정자로 해석한다. 이러한 모델은 분산과 재응집 과정을 기초로 하는 X-선 회절분석(XRD)에서 기인한 것으로 Reynolds의 XRD 모델과 동일하다. 둘째, 기본입자 모델은 I-S를 물리적으로 분리될 수 있는 최소 입자인 기본입자가 $c^{*-}$축 방향으로 응집된 응집체로 해석한다. 이러한 모델은 분산 과정을 기초로 하는 주사전자현미경(TEM) 관찰에서 기인한 모델이다. 강일모 등(2002)은 이 두 가지 모델을 비교함으로써 1< $N_{F}$<100/% $S_{XRD}$ ( $N_{F}$=평균 기본입자 층개수, %$S_{XRD}$=XRD 분석을 통하여 측정된 팽창성)을 도출하였다. 이 식은 기본입자모델과 Eberl & Srodon(1988)이 제시한 최대 팽창성(%$S_{MAX}$)을 동시에 해석할 수 있게 해준다. %$S_{MAX}$는 XRD 모델에서는 고려하지 않는 I-S 결정자 상$\cdot$하부에 존재하는 두 개의 0.5nm 규산염층을 하나의 스멕타이트 층으로 간주하여 얻어진 팽창성이다. Srodon et al.(1992)은 %$S_{MAX}$=100/ $N_{F}$을 제시하였으며, 강일모 등(2002)은 %$S_{MAX}$는 기하학적으로 기본입자가 무한적층을 하였을 때 관찰되는 %$S_{XRD}$와 동일함을 밝힌 바 있다. 만약, XRD 분석을 위한 시료 준비과정에서 I-S 결정자가 분산되었다가 재응집을 한다면, XRD에서 관찰되는 결과는 일차적으로 기본입자의 적층성에 영향을 받게 된다. 따라서, 기본 입자의 적층성은 XRD 분석을 이용하여 I-S 구조를 해석하는데 매우 중요한 요인이다. 본 연구는 기본입자의 적층성을 정량화하기 위해 %$S_{XRD}$=A/ $N_{F}$ (0$S_{MAX}$=100/ $N_{F}$로부터 얼마나 벗어나 있는가는 지시해 준다 금성산화산암복합체에서 산출되는 11개 I-S 시료와 14개의 Drits et al.(1998) 자료로부터 1nA=-0.14 $N_{F}$+4.7의 실험식을 도출할 수 있었으며, 기본입자의 적층성은 일차적으로 기본입자의 두께에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 관찰되었다. Nadeau(1985)는 기본입자두께분포로부터 I-S 결정자의 팽창성을 측정하기 위하여 Ps=$\Sigma$p(N)/N을 제시하였다(Ps=스멕타이트 층 비율, N=기본 입자 층개수, p(N)=N의 확율). 그러나 위식은 실질적으로 %$S_{MAX}$를 제공해주기 때문에 %$S_{XRD}$를 유추하는데는 부적합하다. 본 연구는 이를 변형하여 Ps=$\Sigma$p(N)A(N)/N을 제시하였다(A(N)=N에 대한 A값). 위의 실험식을 사용하여 헝가리산 Zempleni 시료(15%$S_{XRD}$)의 기본입자분포로부터 %$S_{XRD}$를 계산한 결과, 16%$S_{XRD}$의 결과값을 얻을 수 있었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 도출한 관계식들이 유효함을 확인할 수 있었다.계식들이 유효함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Determination of Equivalent Vehicle Load Factors for Flat Slab Parking Structures Using Artificial Neural Networks (인공 신경망을 이용한 플랫 슬래브 주차장 구조물의 등가차량하중계수)

  • In this paper, the effects of vehicle loads on flat slab system are investigated on the basis of the previous studies for beam-gilder parking structural system. The influence surfaces of flat slab for a typical design section are constructed lot the purpose of obtaining maximum member forces under vehicle loads. In addition, the equivalent vehicle load factors for flat slab parking structures are suggested using artificial neural network. The network responses we compared with the results obtained by numerical analyses to verify the validation of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm adopted as training method in this Paper. Many parameter studies for the flat slab structural system show dominant vehicle load effects at the center positive moments in both column and middle strips, like the beam-girder parking structural system.

Fire Characteristics of Flaming and Smoldering Combustion of Wood Combustibles Considering Thickness (목재 가연물의 두께에 따른 화염연소와 훈소상태에서의 화재특성)

  • A series of fire tests was conducted to examine the fire characteristics of flaming and smoldering combustion of engineered wood products, which have been widely used for furniture and finishing materials in buildings. The engineered wood products of MDF, plywood, and chipboard were ignited by a radiant cone heater with incident heat flux of $50kW/m^2$. During the fire test, key parameters representing the fire characteristics such as the heat release rate, yield rate of combustion product, and effective heat of combustion were quantified in terms of thickness. The tests show two peak points of HRRPUA due to lateral fire propagation in the initial stage, followed by later fire penetration through the specimen thickness. The mass loss rate of flaming combustion was 5 times higher than that of smoldering combustion, while the CO yield rate of smoldering combustion was 10 times higher than that of flaming combustion. This study can contribute to the understanding of fire behavior of wood combustibles and provide useful data for fire analysis.

  • This study investigates the bearing pressure distribution and design of an H-section steel column baseplate under concentric loading. In general, the size and thickness of the baseplate are determined with the assumption that the bearing pressure of the column baseplate is distributed uniformly. When the column is loaded lightly, however, the baseplate becomes smaller andthinner and the bearing pressure of the baseplate is distributed non-uniformly. In this study, the distribution of the bearing pressure is investigated using the experimental method and the analytical method. Seven specimens of the H-section steel column baseplate were fabricated and tested. The analysis of the specimens was performed using the finite element analysis program, ANSYS. It is not appropriate to use the Limit State Design,which assumes that the bearing pressure of the baseplate is distributed uniformly,because the bearing pressure is distributed non-uniformly and is concentrated under the column sectio.

  • The standard map for polyerystalline $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$-X was construeted and indexed from pressed tape sintered bulk and compressed bulk samples were drawn by the [001-110-110] stereographie quadrant map and by the ECPs from individual grains of the speeimens. The relationship between the (001) texture development and critical current density (Jc) for various samples was discussed. An (001) orintation was preferred in the pressed tape thickness was decreased. and in the compressed bulk as the compression strain was increaesed.The (001) orientation made a signifieant in crease on Jc. We conclded that an ECP technique was very useful for the analysis of the orientation distribution in small-sized $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$-X specimens such as superonducting tapes or thin films.

  • This paper present a study on the flexural behavior of composite slabs using the flat-type profiled(ACE-DECK) steel deck plate which are developed recently. Forty eight composite slabs with different thickness, span, shear span and deck profile were tested to evaluate the flexural capacity and compared to the existing traperzodial deck profiles (KEM, ALPHA-DECK) According to the experiment results, flat-type profiled steel deck plate indicates more excellent capacity than existing traperzodial deck profiles in strength, stiffness, and ductility. The equation proposed by ASCE code for the effective moment of inertia are more acceptable than the equation proposed by ACI code. Thus, in this paper, test results are summarized by strength, stiffness, and deformation capacity for the specimens.

Validation of COMS/MI Aerosol Optical Depth Products Using Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) Observations Over East Asia (동아시아 지역의 AERONET 관측자료를 이용한 천리안 위성 기상탑재체의 에어로솔 광학두께 산출물의 검증)

  • Aerosol optical depth (AOD) data retrieved by the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) during 2011-2014 were compared with AOD measurements from 134 Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) sites over the East Asia. Overall, COMS and AERONET AODs were weakly correlated (R = 0.297). The agreement between COMS and AERONET AODs was improved when data from near Korean peninsula sites were selected (R = 0.475). Regression analysis results for each AERONET site are vary from R=0.026 at AOE_Baotou to 0.905 at DRAGON_Anmyeon. It was also shown that the bias in COMS AOD was not systematic with respect to effective radius, precipitable water, surface reflectance, and sun zenith angle. Together, these results suggest that COMS AOD measurements may be suitable for near Korea. Finally, the current results will help to improve the retrieval algorithm and vary when using alternative COMS AOD version in the future.

An Experimental Study on the Treatment of Organic Wastewater by Soil Microbes Using Three-phase Fluidized Bed (삼상유동층 반응기에서 토양미생물에 의한 유기성 폐수처리에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, isolated and cultured nitrogen fixed microbes were seeded in the three-phase fluidized bed in which gas, solid and liquid were contacted directly. Input velocity was varied from 8.12 cm/hr to 16.32 cm/hr. And upflow gas pressure was fixed to 80 psi. Return ratios were from 0.2 to 0.6 with the each experimental condition. According to these condition, movement of media, growth of biofilm and removal efficiency were measured. As the results, in case of briquette ash, biofilm was developed to $170{\mu}m$ when velocity was 8.12 cm/hr and return ratio was 0.6. In this condition, COD removal efficiency was 97% and $NH_4$-N removal efficiency was 83%. At the same condition, biofilm thickness of glass bead was $17.59{\mu}m$ and its COD and $NH_4$-N removal efficiency was 83% and 72%. Nitrogen fixed microbes have following characters: it formed dark-brownish sludge, excellent adhesive force, easy solid-liquid separation and low oxygen uptake ratio, but sensitive to DO concentration. Not only it endured shock loading, but required short time to steady state.

  • Biophotonic sensors based on polymer waveguide with Bragg reflection grating are demonstrated in this work. Waveguide Bragg reflectors were designed by using the effective index method and the transmission matrix method. The grating pattern was formed by exposing the laser interference pattern on a photoresist. On top of the inverted rib waveguide, the Bragg reflection grating was inscribed by the O2 plasma etching. In order to perform the bio-molecule detection experiment, a calixarene molecule was self-assembled on top of thin Au film deposited on the waveguide Bragg reflector. To measure the response of the sensor, several PBS solutions with different concentrations of potassium ion from 1 pM to $100\;{\mu}M$ were dropped on the sensor surface. The shift of Bragg reflection wavelength was observed from the fabricated sensor device, which was proportional to the concentration of potassium ion ranging from 1 pM to 108 pM.

  • Brake judder{or cold judder) caused by the disc thickness variation(DTV) is investigated experimentally, This cold judder is often perceived by steering wheel vibration, brake pedal pulsation, and vehicle body vibration. In this paper, how the DTV profile affects the vibration characteristics of vehicle body is shown by order tracking analysis(OTA) and operational vibration analysis(OVA) The tri-axial vibrations are measured at the knuckle, lower rm, and the body side of the lower arm. Also, measured are the wheel speed and the detail DTV profile. The interpretations of OTA results in three directions of tested vehicle indicate the relative importance in the contribution of the run-out and the DTV to the judder vibration. Also, the OVA results show the prominent vibration amplitude of the lower arm in the direction of the vehicle movement. in which the second order of wheel speed is dominant. These results could be used to diagnose the judder problem and to establish the correction methods.
