헬리컬 및 직각 적층두께를 고려한 알루미늄-복합재료 압력용기의 최적설계

  • 라이너를 포함한 필라멘트 와인딩 복합재 압력용기의 성능향상을 위한 효율적인 구조최적 설계방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 온도효과가 고려된 비선형 유한요소법을 이용하여 각 층에서의 응력해석과 파손해석을 수행하였다. 또한 설계변수로 라이너의 두께와 헬리컬 적층두께, 실린더를 따라 변하는 직각 적층두께를 설정하였다. 모든 설계변수들에 대한 강도비 민감도를 유도하였으며 헬리컬 적층두께에 대한 강도비 민감도를 유지하기 위해 측지 등장력 돔설계 방법을 고려하였다. 구조 최적설계결과, 실린더를 따라 직각 적층두께를 최적으로 분포시켜 강성을 효과적으로 배열하였으므로 적층두께를 일정하게 고려한 경우보다 더 경량화 시킬 수 있었다.

보강된 실린더의 진동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vibration Characteristics of Stiffened Cylinder)

  • The structural characteristics of the stiffened double cylinder was investigated through experiment and analysis. The outside cylinder was excited with piezoelectric actuator and the mode shape of the cylinder with stiffening T frame was obtained by using holographic interferometry. Finite element method was applied for further modal investigation of the stiffened cylinder. The experimental results showed that the mode shape of cylinder was dependent on the exciting frequencies and the T frame showed salient effect of damping at most of the resonent frequencies. In particular frequencies, the T frame worked as a transmitter. FFM showed similar results with the experiments. This paper showed that the laser-based method such as holographic interferometry is well suited for investigation of the whole-field mode shapes and FEM has good performance to estimate the medal characteristics of the mechanical structure.

  • 최근 전산 유체의 발달로 이상 유동해석의 캐비테이션 모델 적용 방법이 발전되어 왔으나 다양한 수력학적 시스템에서 발생하는 캐비테이션 유동은 난류이며 물과 공기 사이에서의 복잡한 상호 작용을 가지고 있으므로 그 적용 예가 아직은 미흡한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 수중에서의 캐비테이션 해석과 이상 유동 해석을 위한 코드 개발 및 검증을 목적으로 3차원 회전체 주위의 캐비테이션 유동을 여러 가지 조건들의 변화를 적용하여 해석하였다. 또한 캐비테이션 발생과 관련한 다른 난류 모델에 적용하여 비교 분석을 수행하였다. 해석을 위한 모델의 지배방정식은 이상유동 Wavier-Stokes 방정식, 질량$\cdot$모멘텀 방정식의 혼합된 형태로 구성되어 있으며 방정식의 해를 구하기 위한 방법으로 유한차분법을 이용하였다. 해석결과의 신뢰성을 고려하여 반구형 실린더 주위의 캐비테이션 유동의 실험치와 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구의 수치 해석 방법과 실험적 방법의 결과가 강한 양의 상관관계를 가짐을 알 수 있었으며, 이러한 수치적 뒷받침은 본 연구의 전산수치 해석 방법이 앞으로의 여러 유동 해석으로의 적용 가능성을 보여준다.

  • In this study the thermal stress distribution and deformantion characteristics resulting from the nonuniform temperature fields of the cylinder block of a light 3-cylinder 4-stroke gasoline engine were analyzed using the 3-dimensional finite element method. The temperature distributions req-uisite for the thermoelastic behavior alalysis were obtained from the steady-state heat conduction analysis performed on the basis of experimental data. in order to examine the effect of a ceramic material the cylinder liner was replaced by the silicon nitride($Si_{3}N_{4}$) and its thermal behaviors were compared with those of the original block.

  • A computer program has been developed to predict the heat transfer characteristics and the temperature distribution in the cylinder block of a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine. The finete element method is employed to handle the complex geometries associated with the practical cylinder block. The hexahedron finite element is used for a mesh generation of three-dimensional domain. The present numerical procedure has been validated with the measured temperature at several locations of cylinder block. The heat transfer characteristics of engine cylinder block is systematically analyzed for various engine speeds and loading conditions.

  • The paper deals with the design of a new low-friction seal for a pneumatic cylinder with high speed actuation. The seal performance with variation of the cross sections in piston seals with elastomeric material was investigated to minimize the friction forces using ABAQUS. The contact stress and strain distributions and frictional forces of the piston seals were investigated with variation of interference fits, supply pressures and friction coefficients. To develop adequate and productive procedures, the finite element models of the piston seals were created and nonlinear analysis of a seal design was conducted in order to build further knowledge and understanding of the seal's performance characteristics.

  • A ventilated disc brake having semi-cylindrical grooves has been proposed to improve the thermal judder by way of heat transfer enhancement. The local heat transfer coefficients were measured in the flow passage of disc brake. These measured local heat transfer data were utilized to do the finite element numerical analysis which predicts the maximum temperatures on the disc brake. The results show that the maximum temperatures on the disc surface with semi-cylindrical grooves are approximately 35.2% lower than those without them.

  • Nonlinear seal friction in pneumatic cylinders can impede the performance of pneumatic systems designed for high precision positioning with favorable high speed actuation. The behaviour of an elastomeric piston seals in high speed pneumatic cylinders is analyzed by nonlinear finite element analysis using ABAQUS. The contact pressures, stress and strain distributions and frictional forces of the squeeze type piston seal are simulated with variation of the seal radial installed interference, the operating pressures, friction coefficients and piston rod velocities. The nonlinear finite element model of the squeeze type piston seal is used to predict deformation of a seal, friction force and contact pressure distributions.

엔진 실린더헤드 강건 설계 방안 (Robust Design Study of Engine Cylinder Head)

  • Maintaining adequate sealing in engine cylinder head is a crucial factor in engine design. Failure of engine operations occurs mainly owing to the leaking by decreased sealing pressure. Reliability-robustness concept is applied to the engine cylinder head system. Deterministic way to obtain engineering solution in CAE industry may not consider the effects of noises and disturbances experienced during operation. However, analytical reliability-robustness concept may make possible to reduce the sensitivity of system with noise factors. Influences of design factors including noise factors would be predicted in analytical way. Optimized design may be obtained by shrinking variability and shifting to design target. Three-dimensional finite element analyses have been performed to apply analytical reliability-robustness concept.
