  • Kindergarten children are engaged in the age of physical immaturity as well as the rapid growth. The indoor air contaminants that are proved to affect even the full grown adults are obvious to have no little influence to immature small children in a growth period. In May 2004, for the multi purpose facilities and newly constructed apartments, the Ministry of Environment announced "Indoor Air Quality Control Law for the Multi Purpose Facility," which made the interests to be focused in the urgent understanding of current condition and preparation of measures about the indoor air pollution. In Dec 2005, the law was revised to obligatorily notify the amount of Formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Compounds in the case of newly constructed apartments with more than 100 houses. However, since the kindergarten takes none of the classifications, even the current condition is not grasped although it is directly connected to the health of growing children. Therefore, the study aims to analyze indoor air pollution of one selected kindergarten in Incheon city.

  • This study was conducted to measure the concentrations of total culturable bacteria (TCB) and to identify the bacteria in thirty public facilities (7 elderly-care facilities, 4 hypermarkets, 4 university hospitals, 7 child care facilities, 4 subway stations and 4 bus terminals) in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do Province. Although all concentrations measured in these study facilities did not exceed the national maintenance standard, it is believed that elderly-, child-care facilities should be high priority facilities to improve the indoor air quality and it is important to study the health effects and the airborne bacteria concentration of public facilities including non-culturable bacteria or allergen.

First, the problem of the disaster safety training course of the school is not connected with the lack of law and system and the school disaster safety job. Second, improvement of law and system and variety of training should be made to acquire professional knowledge. Third, it is necessary to divide curriculum into the following four categories, according to educational needs of public officials ; Educational administration officers course focused on facility safety, maintenance and disaster countermeasure. Educational officials in technical post course addressing approval and permission of school facility projects, seismic reinforcement of school building, etc. Educational supervisors course covering roles and responsibilities of the school safety supervisors in the event of disaster. Teaching staffs course focused on safety instructions for students. Fourth, it is found that lectures and experiential learning methods are the most desirable methods of teaching and learning, and the major ranks are earthquake disaster, fire, gas, typhoon, school road, and electrical safety.

  • The aim of this study was to identify the self-confidence in performance and education demand of first aid in kindergarten and daycare center teachers. The data from a questionnaire were collected from teachers in kindergarten and daycare centers from March 5 to 31, 2015. The responses from 149 teachers were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. The results showed that self-confidence in the performance of first aid was mostly low (mean score 2.70), but was significantly high in cases of having a willingness to perform first aid (p=.002). The education demand for first aid was mostly high (mean score 4.04), and significantly high in the case of having experience of emergency situations (4.21, p=.006), and being educated in first aid while working in a childcare facility (4.14, p=.001). Therefore, it is important to educate teachers in first aid regularly after developing an optimized program considering the frequency of emergency situations, and level of self-confidence in the performance and education demand of first aid.

  • This study aims to establish basic data of operating status for ecological learning facilities in Korea, investigate their characteristics for operating methods, and present proposals for the efficient operation and management of ecological learning facilities. For this purpose, a list of ecological learning facilities in Korea was established and 50 facilities were surveyed about the current status regarding the operation and management. Based on the survey, operation form, interpreter and volunteer, visitor, budget and revenue, promotion method, and other items were analyzed. Concerning the operating forms, most of the facilities were direct-operated facilities by government, and they are operating mainly by officials. Visitors are mostly families on weekends, while kindergarten children are main visitors during weekdays. Most facilities have higher proportion of visitors nationwide, and they get information mainly from websites operated by facilities and related organization. The annual operating budget and revenue depend on the facility size and operating forms, and the direct-operated facilities by government use higher budget compared to commission-operated ones. For the efficient operation of ecological learning, expert with specialized knowledge should participate in the operation, and intuitive and informative websites should be established and continually managed. In addition, it is necessary to support revenue of by national and local governments and to secure external funding network like local companies and donation.

Second, there were significant differences in the 'assistance content category' between the high group and the low group in expertise level. Third, significant differences were found to exist between a second-grade certificate level of child care teacher and a first-grade certificate level of child care teacher in terms of 'assistance domain'.

For the actual use, we have to establish facilities for convenience in outer-space. 3) For each room, we suggest guides as follow. The classroom and the playroom have to be combined for flexibility and supervision. In the planning of toilet, it must have sliding door for confirm the inside situation and reasonable height partition to consider the student's body-size. The shape of teacher's room must be open-type for supervising children but protect the entry of children. There is consideration for the material room and the sleeping room for all-day-long class.
