Shell Finite Element for Nonlinear Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Containment Building (철근콘크리트 격납건물의 비선형 해석을 위한 쉘 유한요소)

  • It is absolutely essential that safety assessment of the containment buildings during service life because containment buildings are last barrier to protect radioactive substance due to the accidents. Therefore, this study describes an enhanced degenerated shell finite element(FE) which has been developed for nonlinear FE analysis of reinforced concrete(RC) containment buildings with elasto-plastic material model. For the purpose of the material nonlinear analysis, Drucker-Prager failure criteria is adapted in compression region and material parameters which determine the shape of the failure envelop are derived from biaxial stress tests. Reissner-Mindlin(RM) assumptions are adopted to develop the degenerated shell FE so that transverse shear deformation effects is considered. However, it is found that there are serious defects such as locking phenomena in RM degenerated shell FE since the stiffness matrix has been overestimated in some situations. Therefore, shell formulation is provided in this paper with emphasis on the terms related to the stiffness matrix based on assumed strain method. Finally, the performance of the present shell element to analysis RC containment buildings is tested and demonstrated with several numerical examples. From the numerical tests, the present results show a good agreement with experimental data or other numerical results.

A Key Management Scheme without Re-encryption for Home-domain Contents Distribution in Open IPTV Environments (Open IPTV 환경에서 재암호화 과정 없는 댁내 컨텐츠 분배를 위한 키관리 기법)

  • Due to the advancement of IPTV technologies, open IPTV services are a step closer to becoming reality. In such service environment, users are able to enjoy IPTV services using a variety of devices available at their home domain. However, it is impossible to get such flexible services at their convenience unless each of devices is individually connected to Set-Top-Box (STB) because of Conditional Access System (CAS) or service providers otherwise allow STB to freely distribute decoded contents to every user devices attached to STB. In this paper, we propose a key management scheme for securely distributing contents from STB to multiple user devices at home domain. The proposed scheme also makes the service providers be able to control the access rights to each of user devices without installing individual STBs. It is achieved by computationally dividing a private key of RSA signature scheme into three parts and thus makes possible to distribute the contents scrambled through a underlying CAS mechanism without re-encrypting them that the existing scheme should employ. It improves significantly computation and communication complexities, maintaining it as secure as the existing schemes. Additionally, it prevents misbehaving users from illegally distributing the contents from STB to their devices available at home domain.

A Prediction of Thermal Conductivity for Compacted Bentonite Buffer in the High-level Radioactive Waste Repository (고준위폐기물 처분시설의 압축 벤토나이트 완충재의 열전도도 추정)

  • A geological repository has been considered one of the most adequate options for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste. A geological repository will be constructed in a host rock at a depth of 500~1,000 meters below the ground surface. The geological repository system consists of a disposal canister with packed spent fuel, buffer material, backfill material, and intact rock. The buffer is very important to assure the disposal safety of high-level radioactive waste. It can restrain the release of radionuclide and protect the canister from the inflow of groundwater. High temperature in a disposal canister is released into the surrounding buffer material, and thus the thermal transfer behavior of the buffer material is very important to analyze the entire disposal safety. Therefore, this paper presents a thermal conductivity prediction model for the Kyungju compacted bentonite buffer material which is the only bentonite produced in Korea. Thermal conductivity of Kyungju bentonite was measured using a hot wire method according to various water contents and dry densities. With 39 data obtained by the hot wire method, a regression model to predict the thermal conductivity of Kyungju bentonite was suggested.

An Experimental Study for Performance Evaluation in Dogs of Preventive Contrast Media Extravasation with a Strain Gage Based Prototype Extravasation Detection Accessory System (잡견에서 조영제 혈관외유출 예방을 위한 스트레인 게이지 기반의 EDA 시스템 성능 평가를 위한 실험적 연구)

  • The major risk associated with the use of automated power injectors is the well known complication of contrast material extravasation at the injection site. Automated injection of computed tomography (CT) contrast media can produce the compartment syndrome. The purpose of this study was to assess the ability of this device during clinically important episodes of extravasation. The extravasation detection accessory (EDA) system was composed of a strain gage, an amplifier and a computer based system. A strain gage pliable adhesive patch was applied to the skin aver the intravenous catheter and the catheter was connected to the power injector with a cable to monitor the resolution data. If the programmed monitoring, which was developed with MS Visual C++, at the extravasation occurred, then the injection was interrupted the auto injector. CT was used to demonstrate the clinically important extravasation. This study was a prospective, observational study in which the EDA system was used to monitor the automated mechanical injection of contrast material in 7 dogs. There were two true-positive cases (range of extravasation volumes: $18{\sim}22ml$), twenty three true-negative cases, three false-positive cases and no false-negative cases. The EDA system had a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 88% for the detection of clinically important extravasation. The EDA system had good sensitivity for the detection of clinically important extravasation and the EDA system has the clinical potential for the early detection of extravasation of the contrast medium that is administered with power injectors. The EDA system is easy to use safe and accurate for the monitoring extravasation of the intravenous injections, and this system may prove especially useful in CT applications.

Maintenance of Infiltration-type Facilities for Non-point Source Pollutant (침투형 비점오염원 처리시설의 유지관리에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to improve the Nonpoint-source pollutant treatment plant efficiency and maintenance. Field and laboratory permeability test were conducted three times each before and after displacement. The removal efficiency such as TSS, BOD, CODmn, T-N, and T-P were investigated from the year of 2006 to 2011. The coefficient of permeability right after displacement was calculated to be $1.07{\times}10^{-3}(cm/s)$, coefficient of permeability after a year was calculated to be $0.88{\times}10^{-3}(cm/s)$, and after five years, it was calculated to be $0.3{\times}10^{-3}(cm/s)$ and accordingly, the amount of infiltration decreased. In case of the removal efficiency, it generally tended to decrease, but it showed the higher rates than the expected rates BOD 40%, SS 76%, T-N 39% and T-P 53%. It is concluded that displacement cycle should be at least five years and that dredging cycle should be at least three months and at most one year.

Status and perspective of gas turbine engine for automobiles (자동차용 가스터어빈 엔진의 현황 및 전망)

  • 우리나라는 이제 그동안의 꾸준한 노력의 결과로 자동차 수출국으로 발돋움하고 있으며 이 분야 에서으 선진국과의 경쟁이 점점 치열해질 전망이다. 이러한 세계 시장에서의 경쟁 대열에서 탈 락되지 않기 위해서는 무엇보다도 제품 품질의 향상, 원가의 절감 등이 이루어져야 할 것이며 이 에 대한 노력을 게을리 해서는 안될 것이다. 한편 이와는 별도로 좀더 다른 각도에서 자동차 공업의 방향을 고찰할 필요가 있다. 즉 미래에도 계속해서 현재의 왕복동 내연기관이 자동차 구동용으로 사용될 것인가 하는 점이다. 엔진의 성능 향상, 연비의 감소, 엄격한 배기가스 규 제에의 대처 등에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있지만 기술개발에는 한계가 있으며 제품은 점점 복잡하게 되어 결국은 제품가격 및 A/S 비용이 상승되는 역효과를 나타낼 가능성이 높다. 이에 세계적인 자동차 제조회사에서는 오래전부터 새로운 방식의 미래형 자동차 engine 개발에 착수 하였으며 계속적인 연구를 진행하고 있다. 이러한 미래형 자동차 engine의 대표적인 것으로 gas turbine engine이 있다. 가스터어빈이라 하면 우선 항공기용의 jet engine을 생각하게 된다. 그 외에 발전용으로 가스터어빈은 이용되고 있으며 근래 다시 등장한 자동차용의turbocharger 역시 가스터어빈의 한 응용분야라고 할 수 있다. turbocharger의 경우는 내연기관의 출력향상을 주 목적으로 내연기관에 부착되어 이용되고 있는 반면에 gas turbine engine은 기존의 내연기관을 대체하여 자동차 구동용으로 이용되는 점에 그 차이가 있다. 아직은 실용화되징 않았지만 미래형 자동차 기관으로서의 이용가능성이 높은 gas turbine engine을 다음에 간략히 소개하고자 한다. 생산량과 하천수에 의한 생산량과의 비는 풍건물의 경우 0.6, 매물의 경우 0.5였으며 감자의 경우는 0.2이하였다. 4. 염분용수 관개구와 하천수 관개구의 모든작물에서 풍건물 생산량과 축배량 사이에는 강한 직선적인 관계를 보였다. 보리, 감자의 작물 생산량과 축배량사이에도 선형의 관계가 성립되었으나, 밀과 옥수수의 매물 생산량과 축배량사이에는 곡선적인 관계를 나타내었다..18cm)에 필적되는 연평균 4.16cm로 나타났다. 5. 전체 시험구로부터으 연평균 토양유실량은 Sharpsburg 점질양토에 대한 S.C.S 한계허용치 10ton/ha/year 이내로 나타났다. 비처리구에서의 토양유실량은 평균 2.56ton/ha/year로 높게 나타난 반면 3개의 서로 다른 추리구인 비수구, 초생수로구 및 Bromegrass구에서는 각각 0.152, 0.192 및 0.290ton/ha/year로 낮은 결과를 가져왔다. 6. 평균 침전량에 대한 L.S.D. 검정 걸과 전시험구중 비처리구가 고도의 유의차를 나타낸 반면 비수구, 초생수로구 및 Bromegrass 목초구 간에는 아무런 유의차가 인정되지 않았다. 7. 농지보전 처리구인 배수구와 초생수로구는 비처리구에 비해 낮은 침두 유출량과 낮은 토양유실량을 나타내었다.구보다 14% 절감되는 것으로 나타났다.작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성 물질로 증착시키지 않고, Silver Paint 에 시편을 접착하는 방법으로도 만족한 시험 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰

Material Properties of Ultra Rapid Hardening Mortar for Repairing Sewage Treatment Concrete Pipes (콘크리트 하수관거 보수용 초속경 수중불분리 모르타르의 재료적 특성)

  • Among the sewage pipes installed in Korea, the length of concrete pipes exceeding 20 years is 66,334 km (42.5%). Deteriorated concrete sewer pipes need to be repaired due to the leakage of internal sewage, which causes problems such as sink holes by expanding the cavity around the pipeline. In this study, we tried to apply anti-washout underwater mortar with ultra rapid hardening cement and segregation reducing agent to sewage pipe repair. As a result of the setting time test, the final set time was delayed by up to 172% by incorporating segregation reducing agent. In the test for measuring the degree of mortar segregation in water, it was measured at pH 12 or less under all mixing conditions. In addition, the suspension amount was measured to be 50 mg / l or less to satisfy the KCI-AD102 standard by incorporating a segregation reducing agent. In terms of the average value of mortar compressive strength, by incorporating segregation reducing agent, the strength of the specimens produced in air was more than 80% of that of the specimens produced in water. Conversely, the bond strengths of the specimens produced in water were measured to be higher than those of the specimens produced in air. Water resistance was evaluated by measuring water absorption and water permeability. Water absorption and water permeability were reduced by 42.6% and 36.6%, respectively, by mixing segregation reducing agent.

A Study on the Concept of Operations and Improvement of the Design Methodology for the Physical Protection System of the National Infrastructure - Focused on Nuclear Power Plants - (국가기반시설 물리적 방호체계 운영개념 및 설계방법 개선방안 연구: 원자력발전소를 중심으로)

  • As the scales & density of the Korean national infrastructures have been increased, they will be identified as rich and attractive potential targets for intensified North Korea's attack in the rear region and terrorism attack. In addition, due to changes in security environment such as drone threats and lack of security forces under the 52-hour workweek law, I think that it is the proper time point to reevaluate the effectiveness and appropriateness of the current physical protection system and its shift to a new system. In this study, the direction and improvement of the perimeter physical protection systems of the national infrastructures are to be studied from the viewpoints of its concepts of operations and design methodology, focusing on the nuclear power plant. The reason why we focus on nuclear power plants is because they cause wide-range and long-term damages caused by radioactive materials disperal and pollution, along with short-term damage caused by the interruption of electricity generation in the event of damage to nuclear power plants. With the aim of extracting improvement directions, as we will comprehensively review domestic research trends and domestic·overseas related laws, and consider Korea's specificity, we try to reframe the concept of operation - systematization, mobilization and flexibility -, and establish criteria on system change. In order to improve the technical performance of the new perimeter physical protection system, we study on high-fidelity·multi-methodology based integrated design methodology, breaking from individual silo-type design methods, and I suggest improvement of government procurement, its expansion to export business and other national infrastructure.

Sorption and Leaching Characteristics of Diesel-Contaminated Soils Treated by Cold Mix Asphalt (Cold Mix Asphalt로 처리한 디젤 오염 토양의 흡착 및 용출특성)

  • A cold mix asphalt (CMA) treatment process was proposed as a tool to recycle soils contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons. Experimental studies were conducted to characterize performances of the CMA process in treating soils contaminated with diesel or diesel compounds. From the screening experiments, it was found that performances of five types of asphalt emulsions that contained a cationic or an anionic or a nonionic surfactant were not substantially different. In consideration of higher affinity for soils and higher sorption coefficients obtained, an emulsion containing Lauryl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride (LDBAC) was selected as a promising asphalt emulsion for treating diesel-contaminated soils. When the asphalt emulsion LDBAC was applied to treat three compounds that originated from diesel, the removal efficiencies obtained in the order of decreasing efficiencies were as follows: docosane > pentadecane > undecane. Leaching experiments on the specimen formulated by the emulsion LDBAC found that the selected treatment method could treat soils with diesel concentrations as high as 10,000 mg/kg. Leaching of the diesel from the specimen was controlled by diffusion for the first four days and then leaching rate diminished substantially. The latter behavior was characterized as depletion, which represents that the contaminant released amounts to more than $50\%$ of the total amount of the contaminant that can be leached. The amounts of three diesel compounds leached from the specimen in the order of decreasing amount were undecane, pentadecane, and docosane. The curing of the soil contaminated with pentadecane was relatively slow.

River Water Temperature Variations at Upstream of Daecheong Lake During Rainfall Events and Development of Prediction Models (대청호 상류 하천에서 강우시 하천 수온 변동 특성 및 예측 모형 개발)

  • An accurate prediction of inflow water temperature is essentially required for real-time simulation and analysis of rainfall-induced turbidity 烈os in a reservoir. In this study, water temperature data were collected at every hour during the flood season of 2004 at the upstream of Daecheong Reservoir to justify its characteristics during rainfall event and model development. A significant drop of river water temperature by 5 to $10^{\circ}C$ was observed during rainfall events, and resulted in the development of density flow regimes in the reservoir by elevating the inflow density by 1.2 to 2.6 kg/$m^3$ Two types of statistical river water temperature models, a logistic model(DLG) and regression models(DMR-1, DMR-2, DMR-3) were developed using the field data. All models are shown to reasonably replicate the effect of rainfall events on the water temperature drop, but the regression models that include average daily air temperature, dew point temperature, and river flow as independent variables showed better predictive performance than DLG model that uses a logistic function to determine the air to water relation.
