Numerical study of dividing open-channel flows at bifurcation channel using TELEMAC-2D (TELEMAC-2D모형을 이용한 개수로 분류흐름에 대한 수치모의 연구)

  • This study investigates variation of flow characteristics due to variation of branch channel width and discharge ratio at bifurcation channel using 2D numerical model. The calculated result considering secondary flow is more accurate and stable than without considering one. The diversion flow rate ($Q_3/Q_1$) is reduced by flow stagnation effect according to the interaction of the secondary flow and flow separation zone in branch channel. The less upstream inflow or the lower upstream velocity, the bigger variation of diversion flow rate by changing branch channel width. At uniform downstream boundary condition, the rate of change in Froude number of downstream of main channel($Fr_2$)-diversion flow rate ($Q_3/Q_1$) relations is similar about -2.4843~-2.6675 when branch channel width ratio (b/B) is decreased. At uniform diversion flow rate ($Q_3/Q_1$) condition, the width of recirculation zone in branch channel is decreased when branch channel width ratio (b/B) is decreased. The less upstream inflow in the case of increasing branch channel width or the narrower branch channel width in the case of increasing upstream inflow, the bigger reduction ratio of recirculation zone width. At uniform inflow discharge ($Q_1$) condition, diversion flow rate, the width and length of recirculation zone in branch channel are decreased when branch channel width ratio (b/B) is decreased.

Relationships between pH, $NO_3{^-}$ and $PO{_4}^{3-}$ and phytoplankton distribution in the upper stream of Dorim-cheon (도림천 상류의 pH, $NO_3{^-}$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$와 식물성 플랑크톤 분포와의 관계)

  • The stream has various environments and they are serving as main habitats of aquatic organisms. The distribution of phytoplankton is affected by water environment, especially pH, nitrogen and phosphorus. To reveal the relationship between phytoplankton distribution and water environment, we measured pH, $NO_3{^-}$ and $PO{_4}^{3-}$ concentration, and abundance of phytoplankton at 10 sites in the upper stream of Dorim-cheon. pH value ranged 5.05 to 7.56. $NO_3{^-}$ and $PO{_4}^{3-}$ concentrations ranged 0.4 ~ 4.9ppm and 0.02 ~ 0.99ppm, respectively. A point source of $NO_3{^-}$ was Seoul National University but concentration was not high and dropped to normal range at 400m downstream. $NO_3{^-}/PO{_4}^{3-}$ ratio ranged 28 to 152 except site 4 (0.4) where was affected by $PO{_4}^{3-}$ point source. Water pH, $NO_3{^-}$ and $PO{_4}^{3-}$ concentrations increased with downstream and were related to the input of irrigation water from Han-river between site 5 and 6. Bacillariophyceae alge dominated this stream. Phytoplankton density increased abruptly at downstream of site 5. In general, phytoplankton density did not increase until the $NO_3{^-}$ concentration of 3.5ppm and $PO{_4}^{3-}$ concentration of 0.07ppm. Phytoplankton density was low at sites where $NO_3{^-}/PO{_4}^{3-}$ ratio was larger than 50.

  • 강수진단모형을 이용하여 저수지 이수운영을 위한 실시간 유량예측기법을 개발하였다. 강수진단모형은 현재 기상청 현업에서 수행중인 강우수치예보를 기반으로 상세 지역의 지형 효과에 의한 강수를 예측하는 정량강수예측모형(QPM; Quantitative Precipitation Model)으로서 부경대학교 환경대기과학과에서 개발된 모형이다. QPM은 중규모 예측 모형으로부터 계산된 수평 바람, 고도, 기온, 강우 강도, 그리고 상대습도 등의 예측 자료를 이용하고, 소규모 상세지형 효과를 고려함으로써 중규모 예측 모형에서 생산된 강수량 예측 값을 상세 지역의 지형을 고려한 강수량 예측 값으로 재구성하여 결과적으로 3km 간격의 상세지역 강우산출과 지형에 따른 강수량의 분포 파악이 용이할 뿐만 아니라 계산 효율성을 개선된 모형이다. QPM 검증을 위하여 기상학적 평가와 수문학적 평가를 수행하였다. 호우 사례별 일강수량의 시공간 분포로 부터, QPM을 활용한 시스템에 의한 예측결과가 원시자료 RDAPS 보다 고해상도의 예측 및 지형효과의 반영도가 높았으며, AWS의 관측자료와 비교하여 보다 높은 예측성을 보여 주었다. 대상기간인 2006년 1월 1일부터 6월 20일까지 관측강우는 총 391.5mm 였으며 RQPM은 실적강우에 비하여 119.5mm 정도 과소산정하고 있으나 분위사상과정을 거치게 되면 351.7mm로서 실적강우에 불과 10.2% 못미치고 있다. 이는 고무적인 결과로 볼 수 있으며 현업에서의 활용성이 기대되는 수준이라 볼 수 있다. 강우-유출모의를 위한 QPM신뢰도를 높이기 위하여 분위사상법(Quantile Mapping)을 이용하여 QPM모의에 존재할 수 있는 계통오차에 대한 추가적인 보정을 수행하였다. 수문학적 평가를 위하여는 장기연속유출모형인 SSARR모형을 기반으로 개발된 RRFS(Rainfall-Runoff Forecast System)을 이용하여 2006년 1월${\sim}$9월까지의 용담댐 유입량에 대하여 모의예측결과와 관측유입량 비교를 통한 검증을 수행하였다. 위 기간중 예측유입량의 RMSE(Root Mean Squared Error), COE(Sutcliffe Coefficient of Efficiency), MAE(Mean Absolute Error), $R^2$값은 각각 7.50, 0.68, 2.59, 0.69 값을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 QPM에 의한 예측성의 향상 및 구축된 시스템에 의한 일강수량의 장기예측 가능성을 확인하였고, 향후 시스템을 현업에 활용하기 위해서 생산된 예측자료의 보다 장기적인 검증을 통한 시스템의 안정화가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

  • ZnS and TB-doped ZnS (ZnS:Tb) thin films were grown by traveling wave reactor atomic layer epitaxy (AKE) and characterized using materials and surface analysis techniques. $ZnCl_2$, $H_2$S,and tris(2,26,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptandionato) terbium ($Tb(TMHD)_3$) were used as the precursors in the growth of ZnS:Tb films. The dependence of Cl content in ZnS films on growth temperature was investigated using Rutherford backscattering spectrometry. The Cl content decreased from approximately 9 at.% to 1 at. % as increasing the growth temperature from 400 to $500^{\circ}C$. The segregation of Cl in near surface region was also observed by depth profiling using Auger electron spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopic studies showed that the ALE-grown ZnS and ZnS:Tb film during ALE process using $Tb(TMHD)_3$was also investigated. Approximately 1 at.% of O in ZnS:Tb(0.5 at.%) film which showed a good crystallinity of hexagonal 2H structure.

Seasonal Variations of Primary Productivity Analyzed by Phyto-PAM Chlorophyll Fluorometry in the Beopsu Marsh, Haman-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do (경상남도 함안군, 법수늪에서 엽록소 형광광도계(Phyto-PAM)에 의한 일차생산의 계절변동)

  • The seasonal variations of primary production were investigated by phyto-PAM chlorophyll fluorometry as well as classical methods (standing crops of phytoplanktons and chlorophyll ${\alpha}$) in the Beopsu Marsh, Haman-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. The amounts of turbidity, SS, T-N, T-P, BOD, COD, Ca$^{2+}$ and Cl$^-$ were the highest at the station 3, where located in flowout site of wastewater treated by the filtration plants. The water quality was the third level by the standard of BOD and COD. The amount of chlorophyll a (268.8 mg L$^{-1}$) was the highest at the station 2 in April because the cell density (2,677 cells mL$^{-1}$) of Micractinium pusillum increased suddenly from February (180 cells mL$^{-1}$). The patterns of primary production of phytoplankton by phyto-PAM chlorophyll fluorometry were fallen in with those of standing crops and chlorophyll a of phyto-planktons. The primary production was varied according to stations and seasons. The water environments of the Beopsu Marsh as a natural mounument should be under the control of a regular examination in order to preserve the ecosystem.

Assessing the Pollution Trend in Water and Sediments of Tancheon Down the Stream (탄천 상.하류의 하천수 및 퇴적물 오염도 연구)

  • The contamination of a suite of heavy metals were evaluated in water and sediments of urban stream, Tancheon down the stream. Tancheon is a urban stream which goes all the way across the urban area where various pollution sources are present. The sixteen study sites from seven different areas were designated down the stream. The heavy metal levels of the streams were detected in the order of Zn>Cu>Ni>Pb>Cd>Cr>Sb. There was a difference in the relative order of the concentration ranking in lake sediments. There is a trend that the heavy metal levels are higher at the sites where the construction causes inflow of soil particles to stream. Toxicity tests using pore-water in sediments were conducted for samples collected in some study sites, and pore-water in one site was proven to be toxic to Japanes medaka (Oryzias latipes). The reason may be the fecal pollution rather than heavy metal effect. Strong odor was detected in the sediment whose pore-water samples showed ecotoxicity. We did not observed the increasing concentration of heavy metals down to stream since the soil texture varied in the stream area of our study. Further study is needed to find quantitative relations between the level of contamination and its eco-effect.

Cause Investigation for the Flooding and Sinking Accident of the Ro-Ro Ferry Ship (로로 여객선의 침수 및 침몰사고 원인규명)

  • The Ro-Ro ferry ship capsized and sank to the bottom of the sea because of the rapid turning for several reasons, such as lack of stability due to the center of gravity rise from the extension and rebuilding of the stern cabin, excessive cargo loading, and shortage ballast, poor lashing, etc. The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the cause of the ship's rapid flooding, capsizing, and sinking accident according to rapid turning scientifically and accurately using the Fluid-Structure Interaction( FSI) analysis technique. Several tests were conducted for this cause investigation of the flooding and sinking accident correctly and objectively, such as the realization of the accurate ship posture tracks according to the accident time using several accident movies and photos, the validation of cargo moving track, and sea water inflow amount through the exterior openings and interior paths compared with the ship's posture according to the accident time using the floating simulation and hydrostatic characteristics program calculation, and the performance of a full-scale ship flooding·sinking simulation.

A Study on the Particle Size of Sand to Prevent Penetration of Subterranean Termite (Reticulitermes speratus kyushuensis) in Wooden Buildings (국내 지중흰개미의 목조건축물 유입 차단을 위한 모래의 적정 입도 연구)

  • Termites cause massive damage to wooden architectural heritage structures. Chemical treatments have been commonly used to control them. In foreign countries, physical barriers made of sheet and particles impenetrable to termite are being used as an alternative to the chemical method. To study the efficacy of physical barriers, we investigated the appropriate sand particle size that can prevent the penetration of R. speratus kyushuensis. Upon evaluating the barrier properties of sand with particle sizes ranging from 0.85 to 4.00 mm, the penetration of termites was found to be effectively blocked at a particle size range of 1.00 to 2.80 mm. At smaller particle sizes, termites managed to move the sand particles and build an almost linear mud tube to penetrate the sand layer. At larger particle sizes, the termites could penetrate the sand layer by passing through the sand gaps.

  • 도시지역 비점오염원관리, 물순환 회복, 침투 및 증발산량 증가, 열섬현상 저감을 위한 주요한 방안으로 저영향개발(low impact development, LID)과 그린인프라 기법의 적용되고 있다. LID 시설은 소규모 분산형 시설로써 넓은 지역에 많고 다양한 시설들이 적용되어 시설의 개수가 많으며, 수질 및 토양 내 기성제품에 대한 센서들의 가격은 고가로 형성되어 있어 기기의 경제성 및 유지관리 등 적용하는데 제한적이다. 따라서 과거 모니터링 자료를 기반으로 오염물질들과의 상관성 분석을 통하여 계측이 어려운 항목들을 계측가능한 항목들로부터 예측 가능하며, 선정된 항목들에 대한 비용효율적인 센서를 개발하여 실시간 LID 모니터링이 가능한 비용효율적 모니터링을 개발하였다. 공주대학교 천안캠퍼스의 LID 시설들은 2013년에 조성되어 현재까지 시설이 운영되고 있으며, 5년이상의 과거 강우시 모니터링 자료들을 이용하여 오염물질 상관성 분석을 수행가능 하기에 대상지로 선정하였다. 오염물질 상관성 분석은 2013년부터 2017년도에 침투도랑에서 수행된 강우시 모니터링 자료를 활용하여 각 오염물질들의 상관성을 분석을 수행하였다. 침투도랑 내 유입되는 평균 유입수는 TSS 286.1±318.3 mg/L, BOD 22.6±39.5 mg/L, TN 8.96±5.85 mg/L, TP 1.01±1.11 mg/L로 나타났다. 겨울철에 비해 여름철에서의 오염물질의 유입농도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 여름철 고온건조로 인한 노면 내 차량의 주행으로 인한 중금속, 폐타이어 등과 장마철 강우 시 유출된 토사로 인하여 유입수의 농도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 오염물질 부하량은 TSS와 COD 0.66으로 유의성이 높은 것으로 나왔으며, COD와 TSS, TP, TN 등 유의성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. Arduino와 Raspberry PI를 활용하여 저비용 센서와 LTE 모뎀통신과 데이터 베이스 연결하여 개발된 프로그램을 통해서 무선으로 LID 시설에 대한 모니터링을 침투화분2와 식생체류지에 조성하였다. 전력공급이 어려운 식생체류지의 경우 태양열(Solar system) 시스템과 보조 전력 배터리를 조성하여 장마철이나 장기적인 악천후로 인한 전력을 생산하지 못할 경우 보조전력배터리에서 전력을 제공하여 지속적인 모니터링이 이루어지도록 설계하였다. 토양함수량, 토양온도와 Conductivity 등 3종류의 센서를 적용하였으며, 프로그램은 현재 2단계를 통한 2차수정을 통하여 프로그램을 구축하였다. 오차, 오작동, 계측값에 대한 검·보정 작업이 필요하다. 또한 대기자료의 구축을 통해 보다 토양과 LID 시설에 대한 영향분석이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on the Static Correction for the First Arrival Travel-time of the Cross-well Seismic Data (시추공 탄성파 초동주시 기록의 정보정 연구)

  • A method to evaluate and to reduce the source- and receiver- consistent noise in a cross-well travel time data was proposed. These systematic noises, which can cause some serious effects on the result of a travel time tomography, can be considered as the source and receiver statics. The method evaluates the statics through a curve-fitting of the first arrival travel times in the common source and common receiver gathers. Feasibility study was conducted on a synthetic data which simulates the cross-well travel time tomography to detect a small scale tunnel in a uniform background medium. First arrival travel times at a given source and receiver points are computed by a raytracing method, and the source consistent- and receiver consistent noises are added to the record. In case of the added noise with rms amounting to 25% of the maximum expected anomalous travel time delays, it is confirmed that the method successfully extracted the noise at the 7th step of iteration.
