Study on Induction Capability of Chilled Beam HVAC System (Chilled Beam 공조시스템의 유인성능 해석)

  • Since a chilled beam system can reduce the conveyance energy for air conditioning and has many advantages in terms of constructability and indoor environment, its supply has been rapidly expanding mainly in Europe. For this chilled beam system to be effectively available in Korea, a product suitable for the domestic climatic environment and HVAC system operating conditions needs to be developed. Also, domestic products need to have an edge in cost competitiveness compared to overseas products. In this study, the induction structure of a chilled beam is deduced and an analysis on the induction performance is carried out while the chilled beam system that meets domestic situations is in the process of development.

Effects of Light Trap Structure and Lamp Type on the Attraction of Chestnut Pests in an Orchard (밤재배원에서 유살등 구조 및 램프의 종류가 해충 유인력에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of insect capture were studied in a chestnut orchard using three different light traps (A, B, and C type) with various lamps. The mercury lamp trap captured 125 insect species, out of which 115 were chestnut pests. The B and C type light traps, comprising a Dulux-EL white lamp, were examined for their capturing ability. The type B trap attracted Coleopteran insects (83%), while type C captured Lepidopteran insects (73%). The mercury clarity lamp along with the type B light trap was most effective in attracting Curculio sikkimensis adults (mean, 9.8 adults), while the Dulux-EL lamp captured the highest number of Dichocrocis punctiferalis adults (mean, 10.2 adults) using the type C light trap. These results suggest that selection of the appropriate types of light traps and lamps based on the target pest species is critical in ensuring effective and eco-friendly control of the pest population.

  • This is a comparative study of three inertia navigation units and focuses on the verification of reliability about GPS/INS for the SmartUAV(DGNS). Those GPS/INS have been tested using a manned aircraft and an automobile. The comparative aspect of units include details about the GPS positions and the inertia sensor performance. With the flight scenario, the DGNS guarantees the reliability of the navigation operation and performs the flight test for the development of the SmartUAV.

  • The typical missions for the current stand-off UAVs are surveillance and reconnaissance. On the other hand, the primary mission for the future UCAS will be combat mission such as SEAD under the man-made ultimately hostile environment including SAM, antiaircraft artillery, threat radar, etc. Therefore, one of the most important challenges in UCAS design is improvement of survivability. The current studies for aircraft combat survivability are focused on the improvement of susceptibility and vulnerability of manned aircraft system. Although the survivability design methodology for UCAS might be very similar to the manned combat system but there are some differences in mission environment, system configuration, performance between manned and unmanned systems. So the parameters and their sensitivities which affect aircraft combat survivability are different in qualitatively and quantitatively. The susceptibility related parameters for F-16 C/D and X-45A as an example of manned and unmanned system are identified and the susceptibility parameter sensitivities are analyzed by using Monte-Carlo Simulation in this study.

  • This paper presents a methodology for evaluating suitability of a manned-unmanned aerial vehicle team for a complicated mission. The study identified vehicle performance, equipment performance and level of autonomy as the key factors that affect the mission effectiveness. A manned and an unmanned aircraft were compared, and their performance was quantized in these respects. SEAD was chosen as a representative manned-unmanned team mission. The SEAD mission was broken down to a sequence of tasks. Mission experts evaluated the importance of each mark item for the mission legs. Combining the results showed proper type of aircraft for each leg depending on the complexity, safety, and importance of the task. Finally, the whole mission plan was laid out as a time-based sequence which alleviate pilot workload significantly.

가솔린 엔진의 저 연비화를 위한 엔진유의 기술적 과제

  • 가솔린엔진유를 통한 저연비화 기술, 문제점, 대응기술 등의 동향에 관하여 기술하였다. 저연비화 기술에는 저점도화 및 마찰저감제의 첨가에 의한 방법 등이 있으나, 실제 여타 성능을 향상시 키면서 저연비화한다는 것은 매우 어려운 일이다. 우선, 고점도지수, 저휘발성을 가지는 고정제 기유 및 합성유인 PAO 등의 사용을 검토해야 하며, 여타첨가제가 연비에 미치는 영향도 충분히 고려해야만 한다. 또한, 가장 중요한 Cost의 면을 포함하여 시장의 요구를 십분 반영한 전반적인 성능 검토가 필요하다고 하겠다.
