The identification of Raman spectra by using linear intensity calibration (선형 강도 교정을 이용한 라만 스펙트럼 인식)

  • Raman spectra exhibit differences in intensity depending on the measuring equipment and environmental conditions even for the same material. This restricts the pattern recognition approach of Raman spectroscopy and is an issue that must be solved for the sake of its practical application, so as to enable the reusability of the Raman database and interoperability between Raman devices. To this end, previous studies assumed the existence of a transfer function between the measurement devices to obtain a direct spectral correction. However, this method cannot cope with other conditions that cause various intensity distortions. Therefore, we propose a classification method using linear intensity calibration which can deal with various measurement conditions more flexibly. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, a Raman library containing 14033 chemical substances was used for identification. Ten kinds of chemical Raman spectra measured using three different Raman spectroscopes were used as the experimental data. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves 100% discrimination performance against the intensity-distorted spectra and shows a high correlation score for the identified material, thus making it a useful tool for the identification of chemical substances.

Influencing Factors to Increase the Wage Differentials between Large and Subcontracted Small-Medium Enterprises in Korea (위탁대기업과 협력중소기업 간 임금격차 확대 영향요인)

  • This study aimed to analyze influencing factors to increase the wage differential between large enterprise and subcontracted small-medium enterprises by using panel data composed of 19 manufacturing industries for 16 years from 1999 to 2014. According to the results of analysis, in large enterprises the elasticity of substitution between the labor inputs and the subcontracted product supplies from small-medium enterprises was significantly less than 1. So, the increase in wages of workers of large enterprises, whose degree of employment protection was relatively high, seemed to increase the share of wage cost in total cost and was resulted to decrease the cost share of subcontracted product supplies significantly. This was interpreted to be able to exert a negative influence upon the price of subcontracted product supplies and the wages of workers in subcontracted small-medium enterprises, and, therefore, to increase the wage differentials between large enterprises and subcontracted small-medium enterprises. Furthermore, it was also found that the increases in the labor union participation rate at large enterprises and the openness rate of the industry concerned were contributing to make such effects much stronger significantly. In order to mitigate the wage differentials and the polarizing trend in labor market, we can suggest to establish a certain kind of flexible wage system and to introduce co-bargaining practices with the workers of subcontracted small-medium enterprises within large enterprises, and also for the workers of small-medium enterprises, to prepare new social systems to upgrade their human resources and job skills drastically.

Matchmaker: Fuzzy Vault Scheme for Weighted Preference (매치메이커: 선호도를 고려한 퍼지 볼트 기법)

  • Juels and Sudan's fuzzy vault scheme has been applied to various researches due to its error-tolerance property. However, the fuzzy vault scheme does not consider the difference between people's preferences, even though the authors instantiated movie lover' case in their paper. On the other hand, to make secure and high performance face authentication system, Nyang and Lee introduced a face authentication system, so-called fuzzy face vault, that has a specially designed association structure between face features and ordinary fuzzy vault in order to let each face feature have different weight. However, because of optimizing intra/inter class difference of underlying feature extraction methods, we can easily expect that the face authentication system does not successfully decrease the face authentication failure. In this paper, for ensuring the flexible use of the fuzzy vault scheme, we introduce the bucket structure, which differently implements the weighting idea of Nyang and Lee's face authentication system, and three distribution functions, which formalize the relation between user's weight of preferences and system implementation. In addition, we suggest a matchmaker scheme based on them and confirm its computational performance through the movie database.

Evaluation of Variation in Residual Strength of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic Plate with a Hole Subjected to Fatigue Load (피로하중에 의한 홀 노치 탄소섬유강화 복합재의 잔류강도변화 평가)

  • CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) has received considerable attention in various fields as a structural material, because of its high specific strength, high specific stiffness, excellent design flexibility, favorable chemical properties, etc. Most products consisting of several parts are generally assembled by mechanical joining methods (using rivets, bolts, pins, etc.). Holes must be drilled in the parts to be joined, and the strength of the components subjected to static and fatigue loads caused by stress concentration must be decreased. In this study, we experimentally evaluated the variation in the residual strength of a holenotched CFRP plate subjected to fatigue load. We repeatedly subjected the hole-notched specimen to fatigue load for a certain number of cycles, and then we investigated the residual strength of the hole-notched specimen by performing the fracture test. From the results of the test, we can observe the initiation of a directional crack caused by the applied fatigue load. Further, we observed that the residual strength increases with a decrease in the notch effect due to this crack. It was evaluated that the residual strength increases to a certain level and subsequently decreases. This variation in the residual strength was represented by a simple equation by using a model of the decrease in residual strength for plain plate, which was developed by Reifsnider and a stress redistribution model for hole-notched plate, which was developed by Yip.

English Phoneme Recognition using Segmental-Feature HMM (분절 특징 HMM을 이용한 영어 음소 인식)

  • In this paper, we propose a new acoustic model for characterizing segmental features and an algorithm based upon a general framework of hidden Markov models (HMMs) in order to compensate the weakness of HMM assumptions. The segmental features are represented as a trajectory of observed vector sequences by a polynomial regression function because the single frame feature cannot represent the temporal dynamics of speech signals effectively. To apply the segmental features to pattern classification, we adopted segmental HMM(SHMM) which is known as the effective method to represent the trend of speech signals. SHMM separates observation probability of the given state into extra- and intra-segmental variations that show the long-term and short-term variabilities, respectively. To consider the segmental characteristics in acoustic model, we present segmental-feature HMM(SFHMM) by modifying the SHMM. The SFHMM therefore represents the external- and internal-variation as the observation probability of the trajectory in a given state and trajectory estimation error for the given segment, respectively. We conducted several experiments on the TIMIT database to establish the effectiveness of the proposed method and the characteristics of the segmental features. From the experimental results, we conclude that the proposed method is valuable, if its number of parameters is greater than that of conventional HMM, in the flexible and informative feature representation and the performance improvement.

Quantification of Directional Properties of Channel Network and Hill Slope (하천망과 사면의 방향성 정량화)

  • 지형은 강우에 의한 유역 유출응답을 결정하는 중요한 인자이다. 따라서 유역의 지형형태학적 인자를 수문해석에 이용하기 위한 시도는 긴 역사를 갖는다(Rodriguez-Itube and Valdes, 1979). 지형을 구성하는 대표적인 요소로 하천망과 사면을 들 수 있다. 당연히 이들이 어떤 방식으로 결합되는지에 따라 유출특성의 차이가 발생하게 된다(Zevenbergen and Thorne, 1987; Brierley and Fryirs, 2005). 이에 본 연구에서는 하천유역에서 사면과 하천망의 방향적 특성을 정량화하고, 그 둘 사이의 관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 만일 사면의 방향성과 하천의 방향성이 일정한 관계를 가지고 정량화될 수 있다면, 이러한 특성은 보다 간단히 강우-유출 모형에 고려될 수 있을 것이다. 일례로 확률밀도함수 형태로 제시되는 사면과 하천 방향성을 GIUH 이론에 근거하여 재해석할 수 있다. 궁극적으로는 호우 방향성에 의한 유출응답의 차이를 파악할 수 있게 된다. 본 연구에서는 내성천 유역을 대상으로 하였으며, 대상유역의 수치지형도를 수집하여 DEM을 구축하였다. 하천망 추출을 위해 ArcGIS의 Hydro Tool을 이용하였다. 이들 하천망의 방향성은 von Mises 분포에 적용하여 정량화하였으며, 이를 통해 하천유역에서 하천망의 방향적 특성을 살펴보았다. 추가로 하천망과 사면의 방향적 구조를 확인함으로써 이들 특성이 강우-유출 모형에 유연하게 고려될 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 본 연구에서 고려한 von Mises 분포는 하천망의 방향적 특성을 적절히 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 방위 기준으로 정리한 하천망의 방향성은 하나의 mode 특성이 뚜렷하고, 하천 합류점 하천을 기준으로 정리할 경우에는 두 개의 mode 특성이 뚜렷해짐을 알 수 있었다. (2) 하천망의 방향성은 사면의 방향성과 뚜렷한 관계를 갖는 것을 알 수 있었다. 하천망과 사면의 방향적 결합 구조는 유역의 특성을 보다 현실적으로 묘사할 수 있고, 이들 관계를 가정하고 하천망의 방향성이 정량화된다면, 강우-유출 모형에 이들 특성이 쉽게 반영될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. (3) 하천망의 방향성은 고차 하천일수록 뚜렷한 mode 특성을 나타냄을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 고차 하천일수록 그 방향성이 한반도의 주구조선과 잘 일치하는 것으로 기존 연구성과와도 일치하는 것이다. (4) 하천망의 주방향은 하천연장에 대한 영향을 크게 받음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 대상 하천유역의 유역응답에서 하천유출이 사면유출보다 상대적으로 큰 영향력을 갖기 때문이다. 강우-유출 모형에 하천망 방향성을 고려하기 위해서도 하천연장을 고려하여 이들 방향성을 정량화하는 것이 호우 방향에 보다 뚜렷한 유출반응 특성을 나타낼 것으로 보인다. (5) 본 연구에서 고려한 하천망의 방향성 정량화 방안을 이용할 경우 이들 결과는 유출모형에 고려될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 유출응답 특성을 정량적으로 파악하는데 이용될 수 있다. 방위 기준으로 정리한 하천망 방향성은 실제 유역에 대한 유출모형에 적용이 가능하며, 하천 합류점을 기준으로 정리한 결과는 호우의 방향성에 대한 유출응답의 반응을 정량적으로 살펴보는데 이용될 수 있다.

The Analysis and Design of Advanced Neurofuzzy Polynomial Networks (고급 뉴로퍼지 다항식 네트워크의 해석과 설계)

  • In this study, we introduce a concept of advanced neurofuzzy polynomial networks(ANFPN), a hybrid modeling architecture combining neurofuzzy networks(NFN) and polynomial neural networks(PNN). These networks are highly nonlinear rule-based models. The development of the ANFPN dwells on the technologies of Computational Intelligence(Cl), namely fuzzy sets, neural networks and genetic algorithms. NFN contributes to the formation of the premise part of the rule-based structure of the ANFPN. The consequence part of the ANFPN is designed using PNN. At the premise part of the ANFPN, NFN uses both the simplified fuzzy inference and error back-propagation learning rule. The parameters of the membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted with the use of genetic optimization. As the consequence structure of ANFPN, PNN is a flexible network architecture whose structure(topology) is developed through learning. In particular, the number of layers and nodes of the PNN are not fixed in advance but is generated in a dynamic way. In this study, we introduce two kinds of ANFPN architectures, namely the basic and the modified one. Here the basic and the modified architecture depend on the number of input variables and the order of polynomial in each layer of PNN structure. Owing to the specific features of two combined architectures, it is possible to consider the nonlinear characteristics of process system and to obtain the better output performance with superb predictive ability. The availability and feasibility of the ANFPN are discussed and illustrated with the aid of two representative numerical examples. The results show that the proposed ANFPN can produce the model with higher accuracy and predictive ability than any other method presented previously.

A Study on Experimental Analysis of Dynamic properites for Structure and its Application (구조물 동특성의 실험적 해석과 응용기술에 관한 연구 (기계식 주차설비 진동제어))

  • 일반적으로 건물 구조물에 전달되는 기계진동을 감소시키기 위해서 기계와 기초사이에 유연한 방진소자를 삽입하여 기계가진력(exciting force)의 전달 률을 줄인다. 또한 구조물의 고유진동수와 진동원의 가진주파수가 일치할 경 우, 가진주파수를 변화시키거나, 구조물의 동특성을 변화시키는 방법을 사용 한다. 어떠한 방안을 선택하든 효과적이고 정량적인 방진 시스템을 구성하고 구조물의 정확한 진동상태를 예측하기 위해서는 진동원의 가진특성과 구조 물의 동특성에 대한 정보가 요구된다. 일반적으로 방진설계를 위해 필요한 진동원의 가진특성은 제조회사의 사양이나 측정을 통하여 비교적 쉽게 얻을 수 있다. 복합재료, 다양한 경계조건, 복잡한 대형구조물등은 수치해석을 이 용하여 해석적인 방법으로 동특성을 구할 경우, 신뢰성 있는 정보를 얻기에 는 많은 노력이 요구된다. 더우기 현장에서 발생하는 진동문제는 대부분 복 잡하고 시간적으로 시급히 해결해야 하기 때문에 효율적인 절차를 구성하여 구조물의 동특성을 해석하는 방법을 사용할 필요가 있다. 구조물의 동특성은 실험적인 방법을 통하여 구하고 그 외의 필요한 계산들은 해석을 통하여 얻 는 것이 효율적일 수 있다. 실험적 동특성해석은 입력하중에 대한 응답의 크 기와 위상 비를 주파수별로 나타내는 전달함수를 측정하는 방법으로서 가진 장치 및 여러 측정/분석 장비가 필요하며, 철교, 교량, 건물의 철골 및 콘크 리트 슬라브등 다양한 중대형의 구조물을 Signal/Noise비가 좋도록 가진 시 켜야 할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 실험적 방법의 현장 적응성과 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 대형충격기(large impact hammer, max, peak force 약 10000N, time duration 약 20ms)를 제작하고 실험/분석 시스템 및 구조물 의 진동제어를 위한 절차를 Fig.1과 같이 구성하고 이를 철근콘크리트 건물 에 설치한 기계식 주차설비의 진동제어에 적용하였다.force response simulation)를 수행하여 임의의 좌표 공간에 대한 진동수준을 해석적으로 예측할 뿐만 아니라 구조물의 진동제어 를 위한 동적인자를 변경시킬 수 있는 정보를 제공하며 장비를 방진할 경우 신뢰성 있는 전달률을 결정할 수 있다. 실험적으로 철교, 교량이나 건물의 철골구조 및 2층 바닥 등 대,중형의 복잡한 구조물에 대항 동특성을 나타내 는 모빌리티를 결정할 경우 충격 가진 실험이 사용되는 실험장비 측면에서 나 실험을 수행하는 과정이 대체적으로 간편하다. 그러나 이 경우 대상 구조 물을 충분히 가진시킬수 있는 용량의 대형 충격기(large impact hammer)가 필요하게 된다. 이러한 동적실험은 약 길이 61m, 폭 16m의 4경간 교량에 대 하여 동적실험을 수행하여 가능성을 확인하였다. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS. Rotor Position Sensorless Control of Optimal Lead Angle in Bifilar-Wound Hybrid Stepping Motor (복권형 하이브리드 스테핑 전동기의 회전차 위치 센서리스 최적 Lead Angle 제어)

  • In this paper, we show that the instantaneous phase current of the bifiler-wound hybrid stepping motor is dependent of lead angle and that the information of motor position is obtained from the instantaneous phase current at ${\pi}/2$ by the theoretical formular and its computer simulation results. From the facts, we design the microcontroller-based motor position sensorless controller of optimal lead angle, which generates the excitation pulses for the closed-loop drives. The controller is consist of microcontroller which has the function of A/D converter, programmable input/output timer, and the transfer table which has the values of optimal lead angle depending on motor velocity, and ROM which has the transfer table of the values of lead angle depending on velocity of motor and the values of instantaneous phase current at ${\pi}/2$. From the design of microcontroller-based controller, we minimize the external interface circuit and obtain flexibility by changing the contents of ROM transfer tables and the control software. We confirm that the designed controller drives the bifilar-wound hybrid stepping motor is the mode of optimal lead angle by comparing the instananeous phase current experimental results and computer simulation results.

Development of teaching and learning materials by using GeoGebra and it's application effects for high school mathematically gifted students (GeoGebra를 활용한 교수.학습이 과학고등학교 수학영재들의 인지적 측면에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is inquire the reaction and adaptability of the mathematically gifted student, in the case of introduce learning materials based on GeoGebra in real class. The study program using GeoGebra consist of 'construction of fundamental figures', 'making animation with using slider tools' (graph of a function, trace of a figure, definite integral, fixed point, and draw a parametric curve), make up the group report after class. In detail, 1st to 15th classes are mainly problem-solving, and topic-exploring classes. To analyze the application effects of developed learning materials, divide students in four groups and lead them to make out their own creative products. In detail, guide students to make out their own report about mathematical themes that based on given learning materials. Concretely, build up the program to make up group report about their own topics in six weeks, after learning on various topics. Expert panel concluded that developed learning materials are successfully stimulate student's creativity in various way, after analyze of the student's activities. Moreover, those learning programs also contributed to the develop of the mathematical ability to thinking that necessary to writing a report. As well, four creative products are assessed as connote mathematically gifted student's creative thinking and meaningful elements in mathematical aspects.
