Collision-free Path Planning Using Genetic Algorithm (유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 충돌회피 경로계획)

  • This paper presents a new search strategy based on models of evolution in order to solve the problem of collision-free robotic path planning. We designed the robot path planning method with genetic algorithm which has become a well-known technique for optimization, intelligent search. Considering the path points as genes in a chromosome will provide a number of possible solutions on a given map. In this case, path distances that each chromosome creates can be regarded as a fitness measure for the corresponding chromosome. The effectiveness of the proposed genetic algorithm in the path planning was demonstrated by simulation. The proposed search strategy is able to use multiple and static obstacles.

  • In this paper, we propose a probability map based genetic algorithm to detect lips from portrait image. The existing genetic algorithm used to get an optimal solution is modified in order to get multiple optimal solutions for lips detection. Each individual consists of two chromosomes to represent coordinates x, y in space. Also the algorithm introduce a preserving zone in the population, a modified uniform crossover, a selection without individual duplication. Using probability map of H, 5 components, the proposed algorithm has adaptability in the segmentation of objects with similar colors. In experiments, we analyzed relationships of primary parameters and found that the algorithm can apply to the detection of other ROIs easily

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the educational potential of digital story telling in Second Life with three-dimensional virtual reality. Virtual reality such a Second Life can provide to learner chance with the rich learning environment through fidelity. In this study, we have been measured the fun and comprehension among three groups on digital storytelling types. Through the result of experimental, comprehension was no significant but fun was different among three groups on storytelling. we have the result that experiential activity in virtual reality that provide to get the identification as a main character, good environment is influenced the fun to learner via engagement facilitation.

  • Many studies have been conducted on the accurate detection and identification of targets from ground clutter, in order to improve the accuracy rate of land guided weapons. Due to the variety and complicated characteristics of the ground clutter signal compared to the target, an active target identification technique is needed. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to identify targets and divide them into different types by extracting the unique characteristics of the target through fractal dimension calculation with the characteristics of self-similarity. In the simulation using the algorithm, the probabilities of identifying the tank and truck were 100 % and 98.89 %, respectively, and the type of the target could be identified with a probability of 98 % or more.

  • Some physiological functionalities of Korean traditional liquors were characterized. Inhibitory activity against angiotensin-converting enzyme was 87.2% in Chunla-Do So-ju, 85.2% in Kyunggi-Do 2D-ju, and 85.9% in Chungcheong-Do DO-ju, Kyunggi-Do HO-ju, SA-ju, and Chunla-Do SO-ju had high fibrinolytic activity. SOD-like activity and electron donating ability were 70.7% in Kyunggi-Do OK-ju and 85.5% in Chungcheong-Do SA-ju, restectively. The highest tyrosinase inhibitory activity was shown in Kyungsang-Do KO-ju. High nitrite scavenging activity was detected in Chunla-Do To-ju.

Optimal Water Allocation Using Streamflow Network Model and Global Optimization Method (하천망 모형과 전역최적화기법을 이용한 저수지 용수의 최적 배분)

  • 본 연구에서는 단일목적 저수지와 다목적 댐의 최적운영을 위하여 전역최적해를 탐색하는 SCE-UA법을 사용하는 비선형계획법을 적용한 최적화 모형을 구성하고 과거 운영자료를 사용하여 모형의 적용성을 검토하고 분석하였다. 또한, 다목적댐의 운영수위 상승으로 인하여 발생하는 추가용수를 댐하류로 추가적으로 공급함에 따른 댐운영상의 문제점과 해결책을 제시했다. 관개용 단일 목적 저수지의 유입량은 하천망 모형인 SSARR 모형을 이용하여 추정하였다. 관개용 단일 목적저수지의 용수배분을 최적화한 결과, 실측치와 최적방류량간의 상대오차가 $-2.6\~10.5\%$ 범위를 나타냈으며, 비교적 실측방류량과 유사한 형태로 용수를 공급하는 길과를 나타냈다. 다목적 저수지의 최적운영을 위해 발전량, 저수량 및 필요수량의 관계를 목적함수로하는 최적화 모형을 구성하여 섬진강댐의 최적운영에 적용하였다. 섬진강댐의 댐하류 방류량 증가에 따른 운영상의 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 댐하류 유지용수량을 0.17, 0.50, 0.70, 1.0, 1.5, $3.0m^3/sec$ 방류하는 경우로 구분하여 최적운영한 길과, 댐하류 유지용수량이 $1.0m^3/sec$ 이하인 경우에 발전량이 실적평균발전량에 근접한 결과를 나타냈으며, 용수공급량도 계획공급량인 377.4 백만 $m^3$ 보다 $28.9\~100.7$ 백만 $m^3$ 만큼 많은 양을 공급하는 결과를 나타냈다.

Steady State Kalman Filter based IMM Tracking Filter for Multi-Target Tracking (다중표적 추적을 위한 정상상태 칼만필터 기반 IMM 추적필터)

  • When a tracking filter may be designed in the Cartesian coordinate, the covariance of the measurement errors varies according to the range and the bearing of an interested target. In this paper, interacting multiple model based tracking filter is formulated in the Cartesian coordinate utilizing the analytic solution of the steady state Kalman filter, which can be able to consider the variation of the measurement error covariance. 100 Monte Carlo runs performed to verify the proposed method. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the conventional fixed gain and Kalman filter based IMM tracking filter in terms of the root mean square error. The simulation results show that the proposed approach meaningfully reduces the computation time and provides a similar tracking performance in comparison with the conventional Kalman filter based IMM tracking filter.

  • Development and implementation of virtual training contents has been increasing along with the emphasis on the experience and practice in engineering education. Virtual training makes repeatable sessions possible within safe learning environment which is very similar with real work place. This feature is very helpful to learners when they manipulate real machines back at work after studying with the virtual training content. The purpose of this study is to develop "Total Station and GPSS surveying" virtual training content focusing on both theory and surveying practice within various circumstances and to explore learners experience. Results show high interest, immersion, perceived learning effectiveness, and satisfaction to the content.

  • Nine hundred and eighty fungal strains were isolated from lesions of Trifolium repens L. and various weeds. Among them, F40362, F40496, F40497 strains were selected by the screening of herbicidal activity on Trifolium repens L. and Zoysia japonica. Selected three strains showed selective activity between Trifolium repens L. and Zoysia japonica, and were identified as Penicillium sp.
