Some Effects of Sliding Velocity on The Elastohydrodynamic Squeeze Films (탄성 경계상 압착막에 대한 미끄럼 속도의 영향)

  • 얇은 유막위의 타이어 변형해석이나, 압착막댐퍼 설계등의 해석에 응용되는 변동 하중하의 탄성 경계상 유체 압착막의 해석을 Newton-Raphson 반복법을 사용하여 하였다. 유막두께의 계산은 등계수 요소를 사용하여 정확한 계산을 하였고 슬라이더의 궤적은 강쇄진동의 응답곡선과 유사함을 알 수 있었다. 특히 본 연구에서는 미끄럼 속도의 영향을 고려하였으며 유체가 베어링내에 생긴 포켓에 정체하고 있어서 미끄럼의 영향은 속도가 클때를 제외하고는 큰 영향을 미치지 못함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링은 고속안정성 특성이 우수한 베어링으로서 시스템의 안정성이 매우 중요시되는 터빈발전기 등 대형 고속 회전기계에 많이 사용되고 있다. 그런데 이들 대형 저어널베어링에서는 유막의 온도상승이 매우 많고, 유체의 흐름이 거의 난류영역에 이르기 때문에 베어링의 운전특성을 정확하게 예측하기가 어려운 실정이다. Hopf & Schuler는 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링에 대한 실험적 연구에서 유동상태에 따라 베어링의 온도분포가 서로 달라진다고 발표하였다. 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링은 구조적으로 유동상태가 복잡할 뿐만 아니라 계산과정도 까다로운 편이어서 온도상승과 난류를 고려하여 엄밀하게 운전특성을 예측한 연구는 거의 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어리으이 운전특성을 보다 엄밀하게 예측하기 위하여 3차원 적으로 유막의 점도변화 및 패드에서의 열전달을 고려하고, 와점성계수를 이용한 난류윤활이론을 사용하여 유막의 온도상승 및 난류가 베어링의 온도분포, 부하능력, 마찰손실 등의 운전특성에 미치는 영햐을 보다 엄밀하게 제시하고자 한다.

  • This study examined the effects of surface roughness in the mixed lubrication regime of smooth and rough surfaces for roller bearings. The average flow model was adopted for interaction between the flow rheology of the lubricant and the surface roughness. The average Reynolds equation and related flow factor that describes the coupled effects of surface roughness and flow rheology, the viscosity-pressure and density-pressure equations, the elastic deformation equation, and the force balance equation were solved simultaneously. The results showed that the effects of surface roughness on the film thickness and pressure distribution should be considered, especially in elastohydrodynamic lubrication contact problems.

  • In this paper, using the formulation of dynamic equivalent load considering the effects of moment load and the equation to estimate the cage rotational speed, the new life equation of deep groove ball bearing under radial and moment loads was proposed. Fatigue life test apparatus with the measuring equipment of shaft and cage speed was designed and developed to be capable of subjecting combined radial and moment load. Fatigue life tests were executed by sudden death test method and the reliability of fatigue lives was evaluated by Weibull distribution analysis. From the results of fatigue tests and analysis, the relationships between film parameters and life adjustment factors were acquired. And it was turned out that so as to estimate the effect of moment load on fatigue life, the life adjustment factor as well as the dynamic equivalent load must be taken into account.

  • 본 연구는 Diluted Ceria 입자를 사용한 $SiO_2$(Oxide) CMP 현상에 대한 내용이다. Ceria Slurry의 경우 Silica Slurry와 비교하였을 때 Oxide Wafer 표면과 축합 화학반응을 일으키며 Chemistry Dominant한 CMP Mechanism을 따르고, Wafer Center Removal Rate(RR) Fast 의 특성을 가진다. Ceria Slurry의 문제점인 연마 불균일도를 해결하기 위해 Tribological System을 이용하였다. CMP Tribology는 Pad-Slurry 유막-Wafer의 System을 가지며 윤활막에 작용하는 마찰계수(COF)가 주요 인자이다. Tribology에 적용되는 Stribeck Curve를 통해 Slurry 윤활막의 두께(h) 정도를 예상할 수 있으며, 이 윤활막의 두께를 조절함으로써 Uniformity 향상이 가능하다. 이 Ceria Slurry CMP의 연마 불균일도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방법으로 pH 조절 및 점도 증가가 있다. Ceria 입자 CMP는 분산액의 pH 변화에 강한 작용을 받게 되며 PH5 근방에서 최적화된 Uniformity가 가능하다. 점도를 증가시키는 경우 유막 h가 증가하게 되어 Ceria Slurry의 유동이 균일 분포 상태에 가까워지며 Wafer Uniformity 향상이 가능하다.

  • Heat transfer characteristic near a sharp fin was studied in a supersonic flow. Mach number and the Reynolds number were 3 and $5{\times}10^7$ respectively. Infra-red thermography was used to obtain the variation of surface heat transfer coefficient distribution. The angles of attack were ranged from $12.5^{\circ}$ to $20^{\circ}$ and the numerical analysis and the oil flow method were conducted to understand flow fields near a sharp fin.

  • The operating torque and tribological characteristics of a cam/tappet system of an I.C. engine have an important effect on the engine efficiency. More power is lost for higher operation torque which is affected by the friction of a cam/tappet system. In this work experimental investigation of the torque behavior of a cam/tappet system was conducted to get tribological characteristics. Specifically, the torque was measured with respect to oil temperature and camshaft speed. The torque decreased with increasing camshaft speed because of decreasing friction coefficient but was hardly affected by the oil temperature. Also, the torque was the largest near the cam nose region.

Experimental Study on the Stiffness and Damping Coefficients of a Tilting Pad Journal Bearing (틸팅패드 저널베어링의 유막 강성 및 감쇠계수에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • An experimental study is performed to investigate the frequency effects of the excitation force on the linear stiffness and damping coefficients of a LOP (load on pad) type five-pad tilting pad journal bearing with the diameter of 300.91 mm and the length of 149.80 mm. The main parameter of interest in the present work is excitation frequency to shake the test bearing. The excitation frequency is controlled independently, using orthogonally mounted hydraulic exciters. The relative movement between the bearing and shaft, and the acceleration of the bearing casing are measured as a function of excitation frequency using the different values of bearing load and shaft speed. Measurements show that the variation of excitation frequency has quite a little effect on both stiffness and damping coefficients. Both direct stiffness and damping coefficients in the direction of bearing load decrease by the increase of shaft speed, but increase with the bearing load.

  • The effects of high viscosity polybutene lubricant on the asperity contacts between a flat washer and a ball were tested using three balls/two flat washers rotational apparatus. The asperity contacts were dependent on the ratio of EHD flim thickness (h) and surface roughness($\sigma$). The viscosity-pressure coefficient of lubricant gave a significant effect on the film thickness and thereby on h/$\sigma$ ratio.
