A Study on the Characteristics of the Pulse Wave Impinging upon a Flat Plate (평판에 충돌하는 펄스파의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The Impingement of a weak shock wave discharged from the open end of a shock tube upon a flat plate was investigated using shock tube experiments and numerical simulations. Harten-Yee Total Variation Diminishing method was used to solve axisymmetric, unsteady, compressible flow governing equations. Experiments were carried out to validate the present computations. The effects of the flat plate and baffle plate sizes on the impinging flow field over the flat plate were investigated. Shock Mach number was vaned in the range from 1.05 to 1.20. The distance between the plate and shock tube was changed to investigate the effect on the peak pressure. From both the results of experiments and computations we obtained a good empirical equation to predict the peak pressure on the flat plate.

  • When a shock wave discharges from an open end of a duct, an impulse wave is generated outside the duct, causing serious noise and vibration problems. The magnitude of the impulse wave can be reduced by installing of a perforated duct. In the current study, the characteristics of the impulse wave discharged from the exit of a perforated duct are numerically investigated. A TVD (total variation diminishing) scheme is used to solve the unsteady, axisymmetric, compressible Euler equations. In computations, the porosity of a perforated pipe $(\sigma)$ and the Mach number of incident shock wave $(M_s)$ are varied in the range of $\sigma=0\~19\%\;and\;M_s=1.01\~1.50$, respectively. The results show that the directivity and magnitude of impulse wave strongly depend upon the Mach number of incident shock wave and the porosity of the perforated pipe. The present CFD results are in close agreement with experimental results.

  • The present study describes a computational work to investigate detailed behaviors of the twin shock waves discharged from the exits of two-parallel ducts. In computations, the Yee-Roe-Davis's TVD scheme was used to solve the unsteady, three-dimensional, inviscid, compressible, Euler equations. The distance between two ducts is varied and the Mach number of the incident shock wave is changed below 2.0. The results obtained show that on the symmetric axis between two-parallel ducts, the maximum pressure achieved by the merge of twin shock waves and its location strongly depend upon the distance between two-parallel ducts and the Mach number of the incident shock wave. It is also found that the twin shock waves discharged from the exits of two-parallel ducts leads to the complicated flow fields, such as Mach stem, spherical waves, and vertical structures.

  • 터보머신 태부에 존재하는 정익 - 동익의 상호작용 유동현상을 수치모사 하는 코드를 병렬화 하였다 정익 - 동익의 상호작용을 해석하는 데에 편리하도륵 Multi-Block Grid System을 도입하여 계산영역을 형성하였고, 동익의 움직임으로 인해 발생하는 Sliding Interface부분은 Patched 알고리즘을 적용하여 해석하였다. 정익과 동익의 수를 1대 1로 단순화시켜 수치모사한 결과와 정익과 동익의 수를 실제 조건과 더 비슷하게 설정한 3대 4의 비율로 맞추어 수치모사한 결과를 비교하였다. 또한, 병렬컴퓨팅으로 인해 단축된 계산시간을 다른 연구에서의 계산시간들과 서로 비교하였다. 2차원 비정상 압축성 Navier-Stokes 방정식이 이용되었고, 난류모델링에는 K-w SST 모델링이 적응되었다. Roe의 FDS 기법을 사용하여 플럭스를 계산하였고, MUSCL 기법을 적용하여 3차의 공간정확도를 갖도록 하였다. 시간적분에는 이보성의 DP-SGS를 사용하였다. 해석결과의 분석에는 Time-averaged pressure distribution과 Pressure amplitude distribution 데이터를 사용했다.

  • 가스차단기의 성능은 노즐재질, 접점분리 속도 차단기의 치수 그리고 마크시간 등에 좌우되며 이러한 일련의 현상을 고찰하기 위한 유동현상을 모의하기 위해서는 기본적으로 두 접점의 상대운동 및 접점 사이에서 발생하는 아크 플라즈마(arc plasma)에 의한 전도, 대류, 복사현상 뿐만 아니라 아크전류에 의한 로랜츠힘(Lorentz's force), 용삭(ablation)에 의한 화학작용 등과 같은 매우 복잡한 물리적 현상을 고려해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 차단과정 중 대전류 영역에서의 아크특성과 마크에서 방출되는 강한 복사에너지에 의해 발생하는 PTFE 증기에 의한 영향을 고려하기 위해서 상용 CFD 프로그램인 PHOENICS에 아크 모델링과 고온에서의 $SF_6$-PTFE 혼합가스의 물성치 대입을 위한 보조 프로그램을 작성하여 해석을 수행하였다.

  • 식후 만성적인 구토 증상을 보이는 3개월령 암컷 Schunauzer가 본 (주)해마루 소동물 임상 의학 연구소에 내원하였다. 신체 검사시 비정상직인 소견은 보이지 않았으나, 유동식을 공급하는 중에도 식 후 1시간 이내에 포말성 역류 증상을 보였고, 기립 자세에서 식이를 공급 해도 증상은 호전되지 않았다 일반 방사선 검사에서 전반적인 식도 확장이 관찰되었고. 식도 조영술을 실시하여 심기저부 앞부분의 협착과 협착부 전후의 식도 확장을 확인하고 우대동백궁 잔존증으로 진단하였다. 수술을 통해 식도를 압박하고 있는 인대를 제기하고 유동식을 공급하였다. 술 후 임상 증상은 다소 호전이 되었으나 여전히 고형식은 섭취하지 못하고 방사선 검사상 소견도 술전과 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다

  • The shock wave discharged from an annular duct leads to very complicated flow features, such as Mach stem, spherical waves, and vortex rings. In the current study, the merging phenomenon and propagation characteristics of the shock wave are numerically investigated using a CFD method. The Harten-Yee's total variation diminishing (TVD) scheme is used to the unsteady, axisymmetric, two-dimensional, compressible Euler equations. The Mach number of incident shock wave $M_s$ is varied in the range below 2.0. The computational results are visualized to observe the major features of the annular shock waves discharged from the tube. On the symmetric axis, the peak pressure produced by the shock wave and its location depend upon strongly the radius of the annular tubes. A Mach stem is generated along the symmetric axis of the annular tubes.

  • Numerical simulations have been carried out for a supersonic two-dimensional flow over open, rectangular cavities (length-to-depth ratios are L/D = 1.0) in order to investigate the effect of non-equilibrium condensation of moist air on supersonic flows around the cavity for the flow Mach number 1.83 at the cavity entrance. In the present computational investigation, a condensing flow was produced by an expansion of moist air in a Laval nozzle. The results obtained showed that in the case with non-equilibrium condensation for L/D = 1.0, amplitudes of oscillation in the cavity became smaller than those without the non-equilibrium condensation. Furthermore, the occurrence of the non-equilibrium condensation reduced the peaks of power spectrum density and the frequency of the flow field oscillation increased in comparison with the case of $S_0$ = 0.

  • A Finite volume method for the computation of the two-dimensional, incompressible, steady, laminar Navier-Stokes equation is developed using a non-staggered grid system in a general curvilinear coordinate. The numerical pressure fluctuations, usually encountered when the non-staggered grid system is used, is suppressed by the momentum interpolation method. Flows around a NACA0012 foil section have been computed by the present method and the results show good agreements with other experimental and numerical ones.

  • This study is to evaluate the mechanical characteristics of flowable backfill and offer a guide line of mixture proportion based on soil types for constructing underground power utilities. Flowable backfill is known as soil-cement slurry, void fill, and controlled low-strength material(CLSM). The benefits of CLSM are reduced equipment costs, faster construction, re-excavation in the future, and the ability to place materials in confined spaces, which are narrow parts or perimeters of underground power cables nearly impossible for compaction. The flowable slurry mixed with 17 soils and 6 accelerated mixtures in the laboratory were evaluated for flowability and unconfined compressive strength to meet the target values of this study.
