  • This study aims to analyze tourist inflow trends and consumption patterns using a geographic information system and big data analysis system. Songdo Central Park and Chinatown were selected among the major tourist destinations in Incheon, and floating population analysis and card sales analysis were conducted for one month in June 2017. The number of tourists visiting Songdo Central Park from metropolitan cities across the country was highest in the order of Incheon Metropolitan City, Gyeonggi-do, and Seoul Metropolitan City, and the proportion of foreign tourists was the highest in China. The number of card consumption used by Chinatown tourists was 12.4% higher for men than for women, and the amount of card consumption was also higher for men by 18%. This study has implications for proposing a strategic plan for tourism policy by analyzing the inflow trend and consumption pattern of tourists and deriving major issues in the establishment of tourism policy. Based on this study, it is expected that it can be helpful in improving the construction of tourism infrastructure in the future.

  • This study analyzed the influence of process variables affecting the thermodynamic equilibrium and fluid dynamics of interfaces such as reverse micelle, salt concentration, interfacial tension, and viscosity of fluids to optimize the microencapsulation process using the W1/O/W2 double emulsion method. The process variable with the greatest impact on encapsulation efficiency was found to be the difference in osmotic pressure between the W1 and W2 phases. It was observed that increasing the salt concentration in the W2 phase or decreasing the ascorbic acid concentration in the W1 phase resulted in higher encapsulation efficiency. Additionally, a larger difference in osmotic pressure led to increased damage to the surface of the microparticles, as confirmed by SEM images. The introduction of reverse micelles, which was anticipated to increase encapsulation efficiency, either had a low contribution or even decreased encapsulation efficiency. The yield of microcapsules was expressed as a universal function, applicable to all process conditions or solution compositions. According to this universal function, no further increase in yield was observed beyond the Ca (capillary number) of approximately 20.

  • This paper proposes a spectral modeling of Korean traditional instrument, Haegeum, using cepstral analysis to naturally describe Haegeum sounds varying with time. To get a precise result of cepstral analysis, we set the frame size to 3 periods of input signal and more cepstral coefficients are used to extract formants. The performance is enhanced by flexibly controlling the cutoff frequency of bandpass filter depending on the resonances in the synthesis process of sinusoidal components and the deleting peaks remained in the residual signal. To detect the change of pitch, we divide the input frames into silence, attack, and sustain region and determine which region the current frame is involved in. Then, the proposed method readjusts the frame size according to the fundamental frequency in the case of the current frame is in attack region and corrects the extraction errors of the fundamental frequency for the frames in sustain region. With these processes, the synthesized sounds are much more similar to the originals. The evaluation result through the listening test by a Haegeum player says that the synthesized sounds are almost similar to originals (96~100 % similar to the original sounds).

  • This study investigated the effects of Yuza pectin extract (0, 0.1, 0.15, and 0.2%, w/v) on the physicochemical, microbial, rheological, and sensory properties of yogurt. Pectin extract was extracted from Yuza peel by using citrate after juicing the flesh. The total sugar content of Yuza pectin was 89.07%. The pH of Yuza pectin extract-added yogurt was 4.43. All Yuza pectin extract-added yogurt samples showed shear-thinning flow behaviors (n=0.33~0.44). The values for apparent viscosity ($0.34{\sim}0.47Pa{\cdot}s$), consistency index ($4.48{\sim}10.25Pa{\cdot}s^n$), yield stress (6.56~17.61 Pa), storage modulus (47.96~75.21 Pa), and loss modulus (19.79~26.06 Pa) for 0.1~0.2% (w/v) Yuza pectin extract-added yogurt were considerably higher than those of the control. These result indicated that Yuza pectin extract could enhance steady and dynamic shear rheological properties of yogurt. The sensory scores of Yuza pectin extract-added yogurt were higher than those of the control.

  • The emulsifying properties of soy protein isolate were measured at various conditions, and the relationships between the emulsifying properties and solubility, viscosity, hydrophobicity, protein adsorption, the tension at water-oil interface were investigated. The emulsifying properties are minimum at the isoelectric point(pI), and the effect of pH parallels its effect on protein solubility. The emulsifying activity is increasing up to $50^{\circ}C$ and then is somewhat decreasing above that temperature, while the emulsion stability is continuously decreasing. Except for phosphates, the salts cause the decrease of the emulsifying properties. The hydrophobicity is increasing as the temperature increases and decreasing somewhat as pH gets lower. However, it is increasing substantially at pH below the pI. The maximum protein adsorption at the water-oil interface is 0.78, 0.47, and $0.33mg/m^2$ at pH 2, 7, and 4, respectively. The tension at water-oil interface is 19.76 dyne/cm in the absence of soy protein, whereas it is decreasing to 11.45-18.08 dyne/cm in the presence of the protein.

  • The indoor areas for the commercial use of automatic monitoring systems of mobile robot localization improves the cognitive abilities and the needs of the environment with this emerging and existing mobile robot localization, and object recognition methods commonly around its great sensor are leveraged. On the other hand, there is a difficulty with a problem-solving self-location estimation in indoor mobile robots using only the sensors of the robot. Therefore, in this paper, a self-position estimation method for an enhanced and effective mobile robot is proposed using a marker and CCTV video that is already installed in the building. In particular, after recognizing a square mobile robot and the object from the input image, and the vertices were confirmed, the feature points of the marker were found, and marker recognition was then performed. First, a self-position estimation of the mobile robot was performed according to the relationship of the image marker and a coordinate transformation was performed. In particular, the estimation was converted to an absolute coordinate value based on CCTV information, such as robots and obstacles. The study results can be used to make a convenient self-position estimation of the robot in the indoor areas to verify the self-position estimation method of the mobile robot. In addition, experimental operation was performed based on the actual robot system.

  • This study examines financial factors affecting cash holdings of firms in the domestic capital markets. Specifically, this study focuses on regional firms with headquarters in Chungcheong province, the Republic of Korea, which features little previous research concentrating on the firms in the particular region. Three primary hypotheses were empirically tested utilizing robust econometric models, including static panel data, Tobit regression, and logistic models. Results reveal only five explanatory variables, including DSO, LIQUID, LEVERAGE, PMARGIN, and SIZE, showed statistically significant effects on the level of cash holdings among the nine variables studied. In addition two IDVs, LEVERAGE and FOS, showed significant differentiated effects between firms with headquarters in North and South Chungcheong regions. With continued debate among interested parties on the optimal level of cash reserves, the study provides a new vision for the optimal cash reserves for firms with headquarters in Chungcheong Province, where unprecedented socio-economic factors are driven.

  • Current oil-type potential transformers for trains are filled with insulating oil, which could have problems like explosions due to rising inner pressure during train operation. Therefore, mold and dry-type potential transformers are being developed to prevent explosions. One problem in manufacturing mold-type transformers is preventing void formation around the coiled core inside the mold during epoxy filling, which could cause an electrical spark. Micro voids can remain in the resin after filling, and macro voids can occur due to the structure shape. A transformer that is being developed has a cavity at the junction of the core and the coil for better performance, and when highly viscous epoxy flows inside the cavity channel, macro voids can form inside it. Therefore, in this study, the free-surface flow of the mold filling procedure was analyzed numerically by applying the VOF method. The results were used to understand the phenomena of void formation inside the cavity and to modify the process conditions to reduce voids.

  • The purpose of this study related to the liquidity impact of the housing market variables using vector auto-regressive model(VAR) and empirical analysis is to derive some policy implications. October 2003 until May 2012 using monthly data for liquidity variables mortgage rates, mortgage, financial liquidity, as the composite index and nation, Seoul, Gangnam, Gangbuk, the Apartment sales prices were analyzed. Granger Causality Test Results, mortgage rates and mortgage at a bargain price two regions had a strong causal relationship. Since the impulse response analysis, Geothermal difference there, but housing price housing price itself, the most significant ongoing positive (+) reactions were liquidity-related variables are mortgage loans is large and persistent positive (+), financial liquidity weakly positive (+), mortgage interest rates are negative (-), KOSPI, the negative (-) reacted. Liquidity and housing prices that the rise can be and Gangnam in Gangbuk is greater than the factor that housing investment was confirmed empirically. Government to consider the current economic situation, while maintaining low interest rates and liquidity of the market rather than the real estate industry must ensure that activities can be embedded and local enforcement policies should be differentiated according to the policy will be able to reap significant effect.
