20세기의 도서관은 확산된 인터넷의 보급으로 대출형 도서관의 연장선상에서 이용자의 요구에 따라 관종이나 지역간 협력을 통한 네트워크 운영으로의 도약을 꾀하고 있다. 이후, 도서관의 발전단계는 다양한 서비스를 즐기며 오랜 시간을 관내에 머무를 수 있는 체재형(滯在型)도서관이라고 표방되고 있다. 이는 도서관이 오랜 시간 머물며 다양한 활동이 가능한 공간으로 거듭나기를 바라는 사회적, 시대적 요청에 의한 결과라 할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위하여 유니버설(universal) 디자인과 에콜로지(ecology) 디자인의 개념을 수용한 환경 친화적 도서관 건축에 대한 사안(私案)들을 제시하고자 한다.

There are many sources of errors in the parallel device. This study investigates the effect of a clearance error at a U-joint on the position and orientation errors of the platform of a new parallel device, cubic parallel manipulator. In this study, the limits of errors can be estimated for given conditions.

노인은 대부분의 활동을 주거 공간 중심으로 보내게 되므로, 노화에 따른 만성적 지병과 신체활동의 기능저하로 말미암아 주거와 의료 서비스의 결합은 노인의 생활에 있어서 핵심적인 요소가 아닐 수 없다. 따라서 주거와 의료서비스를 결합한 노인의료주거단지에 있어 노인의 라이프스타일을 반영한 다양한 형태의 주거생활공간에 대한 연구와 대안모색이 필요하다. 참여와 공동창작으로 이루어지는 유니버설서비스디자인의 프로세스를 본 연구에 도입함으로써 주체적이고 활동적인 서비스의 소비자로서의 노인에 대한 적극적인 대안이 될 것이다.

올해 31회를 맞이한 일본 패키징 콘테스트는 지난 6월 18일에 열린 엄정한 심사에서 300건의 응모작품 중에 12점의 재팬 스타상 및 33건의 포장기술상, 63건의 포장부문상의 합 108점의 입상 작품이 결정되었다. 이번 일본패키징콘테스트출품작 전체적인 경향은 환경대응형 패키지, 유니버설디자인을 고려한 포장 등 환경과 인간을 테마로 한 것이 많이 보였다. 본 고에서는 심사위원의 강평을 일본패키징콘테스트를 평가해 보고 일본 포장산업을 전망해 본다.

본 논문은 자동차 쿨링팬용 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기(이하, SRM) 설계 및 성능 비교에 관한 논문으로 기존의 유니버설 및 브러쉬리스 전동기를 대체하기 위해 3상 6/4극 및 12/8극 그리고 4상 8/6극 SRM을 설계하였으며 성능을 비교를 통해 적용 및 대체 가능성을 검증하였다. 각 구조의 성능은 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 예측하였으며 예측된 성능을 시험을 통해 검증하였다.

The main purpose of this study was to provide basic data for better design of subway station based on universal design principle. Conclusions based on the findings ate as follows: Checklists were developed to evaluate the subway stations facilities based on universal design principles Modified and/or complementary lists can be employed to develop the evaluation tools and can construct a database for defining the standard items in order to improve the facilites.

This project purpose to develop a "custom patient gown" can satisfy with functional and aesthetic aspects for improving the problems of the existing children's patient gown that no unified image and discomfort in cooperation with the Public Design Development office as part of the citizen-friendly design improvement projects which one of the public politicizes of Seoul. The following are the results of design process for children's patient gown applying the universal design. First, the children's patient gown of the shape were classified into patient gown, rehabilitative gown and special gown and based on human-centered design to pursue the custom patient gown. Second, the color used pastel shades part of the Seoul colors and focused on emotions with color therapy theory. It was emphasized the aesthetic aspect by arranged the colors which harmonized with the main colors, also classified the wards and sizes. Third, for the functional materials of patient gowns was used the washable fabric and tender processing. Fourth, the accessories were matched the unified image and colors are suitable for the hospital environment such as bibs, aprons, and bedding. Fifth, Haechi, the symbol of Seoul was used as the logo. The Haechi logo and emotional message were applied to patient gowns to enhance the communication efficiency between patients and their guardians. As described above, the custom patient gowns for children's hospital will have significant ripple effects when they are expanded to national, public and private children's hospital. Such a qualitative change will pursue the respect and value of human by expanding the areas of public design for adults, the weak and the old-age society in future.

The Korean society is recently becoming the aging society at an unprecedentedly rapid speed. Following the increase of the older population, their needs for special care is also rocketing. However, due to the increase of working women, nuclear-families, and old persons living alone, new facilities for the elderly such as nursing home are urgently needed. Thus, many nursing homes for the elderly are also rapidly providing. It is needed to examine if such nursing homes are properly designed for the dependent elderly to live. This study was carried out by the field observation using a checking sheet with measuring and taking photograph. The subjects were 12 nursing homes which gave positive responses for walking through their facilities. The items for observing and measuring were made based on the regulation on improving the facilities for the disabled, the elderly, and the pregnant. Whether each item fits the regulation or not was examined. The 9 areas in each nursing home were examined : entrance, hallway and corridor, stair, elevator, ramp, bed room, shower and locker room, bathroom, and rest room. It was founded that many accessible-related items were met. However, many supportive-related items such as ones for the visual disabled, and many supportive-related and accessible-related ones for bathroom, shower room, and restroom were unmet. In the process of this research, it was founded that the tool for evaluating the design of nursing home in terms of universal design should be developed.

Purpose : An aging phenomenon was recognized as only negative aspect, which impediment a development with the decrease of a developing population and increase of social burden. Nevertheless, the problem of aging cannot be treated as a problem of individuals or social burden. Because Every mankind sometime will be the person directly involved the aging. Methods : Korea, predict to reach the aging society with over 20 percent of elderly in the whole population in 2020, should find an active political plan for responding. Because a previous discussion about the aging phenomenon focused on social welfare, the housing plan for the elderly with a consideration of the physical environment for sustaining elderly's life with happiness will be primary task. Results : This research considers housing policy, focusing on the medical service. It is because statistics, which 85 percent of elderly people suffer from chronic diseases because of physical aging signify the importance of medical service to the elderly in every-day-life. Implications : We prescribe the elderly as a population over 65. In this duration, the elderly retirees from the workplace e and spend the majority of time in their home. Thus, for the elderly, the residential space is a field of action and passageway connecting with the surroundings For the solution of physical space preparing the aging phenomenon, the combination of residential and medical function creates a new type of a lifestyle.

This study evaluated non-liturgical space of catholic churches based on the four principles of universal design; accessible design, supportive design, safety-oriented design, and adaptable design. To design those spaces in terms of supportive design principle, diaper exchanging station needs to be placed in the restroom. Findings of this study are as follows: In terms of accessible design, valid width of entrance door to each room(more than 800mm), installation of elevator, height of riser in the stair, and width of step board were appropriate, but there were many spaces where door sils were not removed. In terms of supportive design, notice board at teacher's room and installation of storage closet, and width of passage to office(more than 1,200mm) were also appropriate, but storage closet at a meeting and prayer room, and space for storing flowers appeared inappropriate. To design those spaces in terms of supportive design principle, diaper exchanging station needs to be placed in the restroom. In terms of safety-oriented design, installation of round-edged furniture, use of non-slip flooring material, installation of safety emergency bell at a restroom, and installation of wall handle were required. In terms of adaptable design, space for wheelchair users at each room, installation of the furniture that can adjust the height, installation of desk with different height at an office, installation of toilet and basin considering children were considered to be necessary.
