  • 최근 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 유기박막트랜지스터 (Organic Thin Film Transisto., OTFT)는 현재 사용되고 있는 무기물 트랜지스터에 비해 가볍고 낮은 공정 온도와 가격으로 인하여 대면적 LCD, EL, smart card의 능동구동소자로서 적용이 가능하다고 알려져 있다[1,2]. 하지만 현재 연구되고 있는 단분자 유기물을 사용한 OTFT는 비교적 높은 온도에서 소자의 각 구성요소를 증착해야 되므로 여전히 복잡한 공정이 필요하며, 활성층으로 쓰이는 유기물과 금속전극의 계면문제로 전기적 특성이 떨어진다[3].   • 유기발광소자(OLED)Glass/indium-tin-oxide(ITO)/Cu-Pc(copper-phthalocyanine)/N.N'-Bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenylbenzidine/tris-(8-hydroquinoline) aluminum(Alq3)/aluminum(Al)의 기본구조로 제작된 OLED에 다양한 전압을 인가하면서, 마이크로파 근접장 현미경을 이용하여 전압인가에 따른 반사계수(S11)와 소자의 전류-전압특성을 측정함으로써 전기적 전도 특성을 연구하였다. 또한 다양한 인가전압에 따른 EL(electro luminance)를 측정하여 소자의 광학적 특성과 전기적 특성을 연구 비교하였다.

  • The performance of an OLED(organic luminescent emitting device) fabrication system strongly depends on the design of the evaporation cell-source. Trends in display sizes have hauled the enlargement of mother glass substrates. The enlargement of substrates requires the improvement and the enlargement of the effusion cell-source for OLED evaporation process. The deposited layers should be as uniform as possible, and therefore it is important to know the effusion profile of the molecules emitted from the cell-source. Conventional 2D DSMC algorithm cannot be used for simulating the new concept cell-source design, such as a linear source. This work concerns the development of 3D DSMC (direct simulation Monte Carlo) analysis for simulating the behavior of the evaporation cell-sources. In this paper, the 3D DSMC algorithm was developed and the film thickness profiles were obtained by the numerical analysis.

  • In OLED vacuum evaporation process, the essential requirements include good uniformity of the film thickness over a glass substrate. And, it is commercially significant to improve the consuming efficiency of material of the evaporant which is deposited on the substrate because of high price of organic materials. In this paper, to achieve the better thickness uniformity and the better organic material consuming rate, a process optimization algorithm was developed by understanding vacuum evaporation process parameters that affect the material consuming efficiency and the uniformity of film thickness. Based on the method developed in this study, the vacuum evaporation process of OLED was successfully controlled. The developed method allowed the manufacture of high quality OLED displays with cheaper fabrication cost.

  • 일반적으로 Indium tin oxide (ITO)는 유기EL 소자 제작 공정에서 필수 불가결한 물질로 알려져 있다. ITO는 정공 수송의 기능을 하게 되는데 정공 주입의 효율을 향상시키기 위해서는 ITO 표면의 저 저항화와 ITO/유기박막 접합계면의 일함수 값의 적절한 균형이 중요하다. 그리고 현재 플라즈마를 이용한 ITO 기판의 세정은 산소 래디칼을 이용하여 표면을 산화하는 방식인 산소 플라즈마를 이용한 세정 방법이 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 ITO 표면의 탄소 오염물을 제거하여 저항특성을 향상시키기 위하여 원거리 산소와 수소 플라즈마 세정을 적용하였고, 그에 따른 탄소를 포함하는 오염물의 제거 효율과 산소와 수소 플라즈마로 처리된 ITO 표면의 특징을 기술하였다. 실험에 사용된 플라즈마 소스는 radio-frequency(RF) 플라즈마이고, 원거리 플라즈마 세정 시스템과 표면 분석 장비인 X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)가 in-situ로 연결되어 있는 진공장비로 분석을 하였다 플라즈마 세정 전에 전처리 세정을 시행하지 알았으며, 세정 후 in-situ XPS에 의해서 화학 조성 및 결합 구조의 변화를 분석하였다. 또한 일함수와 면저항 값을 측정하고 그에 따른 표면의 저항 특성 및 표면 전위에 관하여 세정 효율과 연관지어 해석하였다. 원거리 산소/수소 플라즈마 세정 후 ITO 표면의 탄소오염물이 검출한계 이하로 효과적으로 제거된 것을 in-situ XPS 분석 결과로 확인하였고, 플라즈마 처리 순서 및 플라즈마 파워를 변화하여 그에 따른 표면의 결합 상태 및 화학 조성의 변화를 비교 분석하였다.

Synthesis of Blue Emitting Materials for Organic Light Emitting Device (유기발광디바이스용 청색발광재료의 합성)

  • This study was based on organic electroluminescence display. Especially, DPAVBi, AVBi and DPVBi for the emitting materials were synthesized by Wittig, Wittig-Horner reaction. This reaction was conducted between phosphorous ylide and 4-(diphenylamino)benzaldehyde, 9-anthraldehyde and benzophenone. The structural property of reaction products were analyzed by FT-IR, $^1H-NMR$ spectroscopy and thermal stability, reactivity and PL property were analyzed by melting point, yield and emission spectrum, respectvely. The photoluminescence spectra of a pure DPAVBi, AVBi and DPVBi were observed at approximately 445nm, 484nm and 450nm, respectively. In this study, it was known that DPAVBi, AVBi, DPVBi had a different reaction properties according to stability of ${\alpha}$-position carbonyl group of the aldehyde, ketone.

The Influence of Surface-modified ITO by Ion Beam Irradation on the Organic EL Performances (이온빔으로 조사된 ITO 전극 표면이 유기 EL 소자성능에 미치는 영향)

  • The influence of on ion beam irradiation to the indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate on the performance of the organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) was studied. ITO films were used as the transparent anode of OLEDs with poly(2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene) (MEH-PPV) as a hole-injection/transport layer. Oxygen and argon plasma treatment of ITO resulted in a change in the work function and the chemical composition. For plasma treated ITO anodes, the device efficiency clearly correlated with the value of the work function. We also discussed the implications of our experimental study in relation to the modification of the ITO surface composition, transmittance, reflectance, and water contact angle (WCA).

  • In this paper, we propose a suitable multiplication architecture for cellular automata in a finite field $GF(2^m)$. Proposed least significant bit first multiplier is based on irreducible all one Polynomial, and has a latency of (m+1) and a critical path of $ 1-D_{AND}+1-D{XOR}$.Specially it is efficient for implementing VLSI architecture and has potential for use as a basic architecture for division, exponentiation and inverses since it is a parallel structure with regularity and modularity. Moreover our architecture can be used as a basic architecture for well-known public-key information service in $GF(2^m)$ such as Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol, Digital Signature Algorithm and ElGamal cryptosystem.

A Study for Luminescence Properties of OLEDs Using $Alq_2-Ncd$ as an Emitting Layer ($Alq_2-Ncd$를 이용한 유기 전기 발광 소자의 발광특성에 관한 연구)

  • New luminescent material, 6,11-Dihydroxy-5,12-naphthacenedione$(Alq_2-Ncd)$ was synthesized. And extended efforts have been made to obtain high-performance electro-luminescent(EL) devices, since the first report of organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs) based on tris-(8-hydroxy-quinoline)aluminum$(Alq_3)$ Current-voltage characteristics, brightness-voltage characteristics, luminous efficiency and quantum efficiency were measured at room temperature. The maximum wavelength of the EL is at around 504nm and the brightness is up to $2702[cd/m^2]$ with the maximum efficiency up to 3.91 [1m/W]. This study indicates not only the sterical effect but also some other effect would be responsible for the change of the emission wavelength.

Efficient Organic Light-emitting Diodes with Aluminum-doped Zinc Oxide Anodes (알루미늄 도핑된 산화아연 양극을 적용한 고효율 유기발광다이오드)

  • Properties of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with aluminum-doped zinc oxide (ZnO:Al) anodes showed different behaviors from OLEDs with indium tin oxide (ITO) anodes according to driving conditions. OLEDs with ITO anodes gave higher current density and luminance in lower voltage region and better EL and power efficiency under lower current density conditions, However, OLEDs with ZnO:Al anodes gave higher current density and luminance in higher voltage region over about 8V and better EL and power efficiency under higher current density over $200mA/cm^2$. These seemed to be due to the differences in conduction properties of semiconducting ZnO:Al and metallic ITO. OLEDs with ZnO:Al anodes showed nearly saturated efficiency under high current driving conditions compared with those of OLEDs with ITO anodes. This meant better charge balance in OLEDs with ZnO:Al anodes. These properties of OLEDs with ZnO:Al anodes are useful in making bright display devices with efficiency.
