KSR-III 추진기관의 공급시스템 설계 특성

  • 액체 로켓 엔진은 추진기관 공급 시스템으로 작동이 된다. 추진기관 공급 시스템에는 유공압장치 및 각종 배관, 필요한 압력과 유량을 연소실과 가스발생기로 공급하는 시스템, 엔진의 점화 및 정지, 발사체의 사용 목적에 따라 부과되는 기능을 수행하기 위한 장비들이 포함된다. 공급시스템은 크게 가압가스를 이용하는 방법과 터보펌프를 이용하는 방법의 두 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 잘 알려진 바와 같이 일반적으로 추력이 큰 로켓엔진의 경우에는 터보 펌프식이, 추력이 크지 않은 경우에는 가압가스 방식이 이용된다. 일반적으로 가압가스 방식은 연소실 압력이 커질수록 추진제 탱크의 압력도 커지므로, 그 두께가 두꺼워져서 비효율적이 된다. 따라서 연소실 압력이 비교적 크지 않은 추력이 약 10t 내외에서 많이 사용되고, 시스템이 터보 펌프식보다 구조가 매우 간단하므로, 작동의 신뢰도는 매우 높다.

Accurate Positioning with a Pneumatic Driving Apparatus (공기압 구동장치를 이용한 정밀위치제어)

  • The accurate position control of pneumatic driving apparatus is considered in this paper. In pneumatically actuated positioning systems, accurate positioning as an electrical servo has been known to be difficult because of the friction force and compressibility of the air. For good control performance of the pneumatic system, an actuator mounted with externally pressurized air bearings is produced to compensate for friction force. For the controller design, the governing equation of the pneumatic driving apparatus is derived. In order to reduce the nonlinear characteristics of the control valve, linearized control input is derived from the relation between the effective area of the valve and the control input. The experimental results are presented to show the results of the improved position control of the pneumatic driving apparatus.

  • The hydraulic power-take-off mechanism (HPTO) is one of the most popular methods in wave energy converters (WECs). However, the conventional HPTO with only one direction motion has a number of drawbacks that limit its power capture capability. This paper proposes an adjustable moving angle wave energy converter (AMAWEC) and investigates the effect of the moving angle on the performance of the wave energy converter to find the optimal moving angle in order to increase the power capture capability as well as energy efficiency. A mathematical model of components from a floating buoy to a hydraulic motor was modeled. A small scale WEC test rig was fabricated to verify the power capture capability and efficiency of the proposed system through experiments.

  • Most of the work of construction equipment and agricultural machinery is done in off-road conditions. Autonomous driving required in these conditions uses GPS sensors, and PID controllers to control their speed and position. The hydrostatic steering, which is composed of a PSU, hydraulic hoses, and cylinders, rather than a mechanical coupling is used in these equipments. The PSU plays a key role in hydrostatic steering. Precise control of the position under various conditions requires detailed behavioral analysis of the basic components and operation. Two Gerotor PSU is now a commonly used safer option. The components of the PSU can be divided into mechanical and hydraulic actuating elements by its behavior. Since the system is combined by mechanical and hydraulic elements, the modelings are performed using Amesim, which is one of the most effective for the multi-domain dynamic system analysis. To confirm the validity of the model, input torque and pressures are checked with varying steering speed. The opening and the steering speed of normal and newly designed control valve set is investigated with the effect of centering spring force and friction. Finally, simulation results with fully detailed model with two gerotors are analyzed and compared with simple model.

  • For the successful development of 75 tonf class liquid rocket engine, a plenty of tests on each engine component has to be performed and this is equally true for a combustor. However the test facility which is in operation at Korea Aerospace Research Institute lacks its capacity to perform fire tests of a 75 tonf class combustor at its nominal thrust. Since the test facility has to be ready prior to the start of development tests, it is very urgent to establish the test facility. The preliminary design of a test facility for a 75 tonf class combustor which was performed according to the urgent necessity is described in the paper.

Flow and Pressure Ripple Characteristics of Hydrostatic Transmissions (유압전동장치의 유량 압력맥동 특성)

  • This study deals with a flow and pressure ripple characteristics for a hydrostatic transmission(HST) consisting of a vari-able axial piston pump connected in an open loop to a fixed displacement axial piston motor. These flow ripples produced by pump and motor in HST interacts with the source impedances of the pump or motor and dynamic characteristics of the connected pipeline, and results in a pressure ripples, Pressure ripples. Pressure ripples in HSP is major source of vibration, which can lead to fatigue failure of components and cause noise. In this paper, the flow ripples generated by a swash plate type axial piston pump or motor in HST are measured by making use of hydraulic pipeline dynamics and the measured pressure data at two points along the pipeline. By using the self-checking functions, the validity of the method us investigated by comparison with the measured and estimated pressure ripples at the halfway section of the pipeline, and good agreement is achieved.

Pressure Ripple Reduction in Hydrostatic Transmissions by Using a Hydraulic Filter (맥동흡수용 유압필터에 의한 유압전동장치의 압력맥동 감쇠)

  • This paper deals with pressure ripple attenuation far separated-type Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) consisting ova variable axial piston pump connected in an open loop to a fried displacement axial piston motor. Pressure ripples in HST is major source of vibration which can lead to fatigue failure of components and cause noise. In order to reduce the pressure ripple, an annular tube tripe hydraulic filter is proposed to attenuate pressure ripples with the high frequencies components to achieve better noise reduction in HST. The basic principle of a hydraulic filter is allied to propagation of pressure wave, reflection, absorption in cross section of discontinuity and resonance in the hydraulic pipeline. It is experimentally shown that the hydraulic filter attenuates about 30∼40dB of pressure ripple with high frequencies. These results will assist in modeling and design of noise reduction in hydraulic control systems, and provide a means of designing a quieter HST.

  • This paper focuses on the issue of force synchronizing control for the injection servomechanism of injection molding machines. Prior to the controller design, a virtual design model was developed for the injection mechanism with an AC servomotor-ball screw. A synchronizing controller is designed and combined with the PID control to accommodate the mismatches between the real plant and the linear model plant used. Due to the plant uncertainty, the stiffness and the damping of the mechanism were considered. From the tracking control simulations based on the virtual design model, it is shown that a significant reduction in force synchronizing error is achieved through the use of a proposed control scheme.

  • Main role of landing gear is to absorb the energy which is generated by aircraft lanidng and ground maneuvering. Generally, in order to absorb the impact energy during landing, oleo-pneumatic type shock absorber is used for aircraft landing gear. Oleo-pneumatic type shock absorber has a good energy absorbing efficiency and is light in weight because its structure is relatively simple. For the landing gear development, it is necessary to conduct drop test in order to verify shock absorbing performance. In the drop test, first, gas spring curve verification tests are conducted. Then, limit and reserve energy absorption drop tests are performed based on the STANAG 4671. The drop tests results with performance analysis results are presented.

Design of Attachments for Dual Arm of Disaster-Responding Special Function Machinery by TRIZ (트리즈를 이용한 재난대응 특수목적기계의 양팔용 작업장치 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of attachments for dual arms of disaster responding heavy machine. The heavy machine handles a variety of tasks such as cutting, shredding, picking and moving in unstructured environment. Despite the need for rapid response, the heavy machine has difficulty in repeatedly replacing the attachment depending on the task. Thus, we propose a method to solve this physical and functional contradiction relation by using TRIZ separation principles. Above all, the existing equipment and the required working scenarios were surveyed and summarized in order to separate the attachments functionally for right-handed, left-handed and two-handed operation. Then, we proposed the design directions and conceptual design as following: multi function type attachment A, for precise operation and various operations; grab type attachment B, for grasping irregular objects and auxiliary device for both arms to handle bulky objects.
