Analysis for Financial Ratio of Korean Professional Soccer Citizen Teams (프로축구 시민구단의 재무비율 분석)

  • Sport industry creates value-added by production and distribution of product or service related with sports or sports. Professional sports will lead to major area of sport service industry in the future. The purpose of study is to analyze financial condition and management performance by using financial statement(2005-2007) of korean professional soccer citizen teams. The analysis of financial condition and management performance is executed by financial ratio analysis method. The content of this study involve comparison with standardization ratio and financial ratios among professional soccer citizen teams. The results of this study are as follows. First, liquidity ratio measured by current ratio and quick ratio was high with compared to standardization ratio. Second, leverage ratio measured by debt ratio was very high. Third, activity ratio was good condition. Finally, profitability ratio was very low having minus ratio generally.

Dual Earner Couple's Interdependent Retirement Decision - Focusing on Spouses'Involuntary Retirement - (부부은퇴의 상호의존성 연구 - 배우자의 은퇴여부 및 은퇴자발성을 중심으로 -)

  • This study examined the interdependent retirement decision between husbands and wives. Since most of retirees in Korea retired by involuntary reasons such as health problems, it purposes to test whether the involuntary retirement of husbands(wives) influences the retirement decision of wives(husbands). Using data from 4th Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing Panel, it conducted probit and multivariate probit analysis on 1,038 dual-earner couples aged 51~76 to test interdependence of couples' retirement. The results showed that husbands who have retired wife were more likely to retire. It also proved that involuntary retirement of spouse is a significant predictor of early retirement decision, though the direction of the effect is reversed by gender. Wives were more likely to retire when husband were retired involuntarily, while husbands were more likely to stay in labor market. These findings helped to understand the retirement decision of aged couples in Korea and brought suggestion on labor market and care policies for aged couples.

  • By two-dimensional gel electrophoresis loss of a cell-specific protein was detected in tD strain of Amoeba proteus that had been infected by symbiotic bacteria extracted from xD strain. In 50 days of experimental infection by induced phagocytosis the host amoeba lost the ability to synthesize the tD cell-specific protein even after removal of the infective bacteria and xD cell-specific protein by growing the amoebae at 27^\\circC. By this time the host amoebae were obligately dependent on the bacteria. From these and other results (Lorch and Jeon, Science 221:549), it is clear that the incompatibility of the infected nuclei with the cytoplasm of the uninfected amoeba and the obligate dependence of the host on bacteria are due to the irreversible inactivation or the loss of the cell-specific gene by bacterial infection in this amoeba.

Effects of Codonopsis lanceolata Extracts on bFGF-induced Angiogenesis in vitro (더덕추출물에 의한 bFGF-유도 시험관내 혈관신생의 억제)

  • In this study, we examined the effects of the methanolic extract(CL-ex) of Codonopsis lanceolata on the angiogenesis stimulated with basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) in vitro, using porcine pulmonary arterial endothelial cells(PPAECs). In addition, we investigated the endothelial functions involved in angiogenesis, such as proliferation, migration and secretion of matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs), using human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECS). CL-ex inhibited FGF-induced sprout formation in vitro at concentrations of 0.1-100 ug/ml. Although CL-ex did not affect the proliferation of endothelial cells, CL-ex strongly inhibited the FGF-induced migration of HUVECS at concentrations of 0.1-1 ug/ml; the degree of inhibition of endothelial cells by C-ex was 49.4% at 0.1 ug/ml and 71.9 % at 1.0 ug/ml. Moreover, CL-ex inhibited the secretion of MMPs from HUVECS stimulated with FGF. Therefore, the inhibitory effect of CL-ex on angiogenesis in vitro could be explained by the inhibition of endothelial cell migration. From these results, we suggest that Codonopsis lanceolata is a useful herb for the development of therapeutics or preventive food factors for angiogenesis related diseases, such as tumors.

A Derivation of Sensitivity Equations of the Error Components to Analyze Performance in the Direct Fire Control System (직사화기 성능분석을 위한 오차요소별 민감도 식 유도)

  • In the direct Gun Fire Control System(GFCS), it is essential to analyze the impact of the specific error components on the hit probability to optimize the system design. For this purpose the sensitivity equations of these error components are conveniently used, but it is too difficult to get those equations for the complex system with too many system elements. Normally sensitivity analysis is performed using numerical and statistical methods for the ground combat system. This method requires much computation, and makes us difficult to estimate the sensitivity change of specific error component intuitionally for the changing operating conditions. In this paper we propose a set of sensitivity equations deriving from closed form solution of the ballistic differential equation for the bullet. They are handy equations with very little computations, easy to understand the physical meaning of the related system variables. Some simulation results are shown to demonstrate usefulness of our algorithm for the 30mm projectile.

Extraction of Brown Rice Oil Including Essential Fatty Acid Using Supercritical Fluid Process (초임계유체 공정에 의한 유효지방산이 풍부한 현미유의 추출)

  • Brown rice oil contains palmitic acid, linolenic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, tocopherol, squalene, etc. The oil including essential fatty acids was extracted from the domestic brown rice bran using supercritical carbon dioxide(SCC) process, and the extracts were analyzed with GC-MSD. The extraction amount of brown rice oil was dependent upon the operating pressure and temperature, and the fatty acid composition of oil was varied with the reduced density(ργ) of the SCC. About 70~80% of brown rice oil was extracted in 4 hours. Especially, squalene which was not found in solvent extract phase was identified in supercritical fluid extraction phase only.

  • 인류에 필수불가경한 에너지는, 석유, 석탄과 같은 화석연료에 의한 염에너지와 수력, 조력, 파력, 풍력 등의 비열에너지가 있으나, 에너지이용량중 열에너지가 절대적 우위를 점하고 있다. 열에너 지는 전기한 화석연료 뿐만 아니라, 태양집, 태양열발전소와 같은 태양열에너지의 직접이용, 핵에 너지의 열에너지전환, 지열, 해수의 온도차이용등, 열에너지는 다량하면서 막대한 에너지량을 보 유하고 있는 실정이지만, ㅈ로 석유자원에 의존하여 온 것이 현상이다. 그러나, 1970년대 초기에 엄습한 석유파동이래, 세계적으로 에너지위기감에 사로잡혀, 세계각국은 탈석유화에 따른 에너지 의 다양화와 에너지절약이 감소되게 되었다. 연료절약에 관하여 말하면, 에너지이요의 효율화를 적극적으로 도모함에 있어서 열에너지이용에 관한 평가방법에 새로운 검토가 가해져서, 더 합 리적인 평가방법의 확립이 필요하게 되었다. 이를 위해서는 종래의 열역학 제1법칙에 의한 열 에너지의 양적평가 뿐만 아니라, 열역학 제2법칙에 의한 질적평가의 중요성이 인식되어, 유효에 너지(available energy) 또는 엑세르기(Exergie)의 개념이 위상되고 있다. 물론 이 개념을 적용 하여 열역학 제2법칙에 의한 해석에 따른 일정산(heat balance)에 있어서 전혀 새로운 결과가 얻어지는 것은 아니지만, 지금까지는 열정산에 있어서 열역학 제1법칙에 의한 평가방법만이 강 조되어, 열역학 제2법칙에 의한 평가방법은 거의 도외시되어온 것이 실정이며, 우리나라에서 발 간되는 열역학에 관한 도서에서도 이에 관한 검토 내용이 거의 찾아볼수 없거나, 가령 언급된 것이 있다 하더라도 그 내용이 간략하여 그 중요성이 경시되어온 것이 사실이다. 그러나 열역학 제2법칙에 의한 에너지정산에 의하여, 제1법칙에 의한 것보다 열에너지의 합리적이고 또한 유 효한 과학적평가가 가능하게 되어, 장치나 기기의 개선에 구체적이면서 합리적인 지침이 주어 지게 된다. 그리하여 이들 개념과 방법의 소개가 필요하다고 생각되어, 지금부터 우리들이 잘 아는 용어를 사용하여 해설을 서로 하기로 한다.

Synthesis and Surface Active Properties of Amino Acid Monoglyceride (아미노산 모노글리세리드류의 합성 및 계면성)

  • Nonionic surfactants, monoglyceryl pyroglutamates, have been synthesized in a high yield by esterification of monoglyceride with pyroglutamic acid in the presence of sodium acetate catalyst. Their structures were confirmed by IR and 1HNMR studies. For these compounds surface active properties including interfacial tension and emulsifying power were measured. The interfacial tensions of their oil solution against water were decreased to 5~9dyne/cm and hydrophobic alkyl chain of monoglyceryl pyroglutamates. The experimental results indicated that emulsifying power of the nonionic surfactant was better in benzene than in soybean oil. Due to the good surface properties, the nonionic sutfactants, monoglyceryl pyroglutamates, are expected to be used as emulsifiers.

Cell Death Induction Mechanism of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Cell Line, NCI-H1703 by Docetaxel (Docetaxel에 의한 비소세포폐암세포주 NCI-H1703의 세포사멸 유도기전)

  • Background: Docetaxel has been effectively used as an anti-cancer chemotherapuetic agent for various tumor treatments including lung cancer. However, the cell death induction mechanism(s) involved with docetaxel treatment in lung cancer cells has not been known yet. Material and Method: In the present study, the cellular and biochemical changes of NCI-H1703 cells (non-small cell lung cancer cell line, p53-mutant) after docetaxel treatment have been monitored by flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and western blot. Result: Docetaxel treatment significantly resulted in decrease of S phase as well as increase of G2 phase, and consequently evoked an increase of cell death in NCI-H1703 cells. After docetaxel exposure the activations of caspase-3 and caspase-9 were detected. Conclusion: Take together, it is suggested that the docetaxel induces NCI-H1703 cell death by caspase-9 and caspase-3 dependent mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.

Empirical Research on Application of ICT for Reduction of Energy Consumption of Hospital Buildings (ICT를 활용한 병원건물의 에너지 절감방안 연구)

  • Increase in oil prices and building energy consumption has been a great burden for Korea which has significant energy dependence on foreign energy sources. In this context, reduction of building energy consumption, which comprises 40% of total energy consumption, is a very important issue. This research therefore empirically analyzed a hospital "P" that implemented ICT-based energy consumption and cost reduction initiative. The hospital first replaced existing water absorber for heating/cooling air and boiler for heating water with water heat storage heat pump system. This was accompanied by subscribing to different electricity price plans to maximize cost reduction. Secondly, the hospital additionally applied ICT-based optimized control algorithm that considers surrounding factors (external temperature, changes in energy demand). The analysis of these mechanisms indicate that the ICT-based energy consumption and cost reduction initiative for hospitals can reduce energy consumption by 53.6% with replacement of low-efficiency equipment and additionally by 18.2% with optimized control algorithm. The mechanisms will provide energy consumption reduction opportunities for other hospitals and buildings with high energy consumption.
