Techniques for Measuring 3-D Positional Data of Terrain Features from Digital Satellite Imagery (위성영상을 이용한 지형지물 3차원 대지좌표 측정 기법)

  • Digital Elevation Model, Ortho-image, and 3-D positional data of terrain features are indispensable elements for producing 3-D image information. In this research, digital pbotogrammetric studies were conducted to measure the 3-D positional data on high performance computer systems in order to replace analytical stereo-plotter-oriented tasks with those of digital workstations. Especially, technical approaches to measure these data on stereo workstation were developed and then the results were applied on SPOT satellite images. As the result of this study, the possibilities of the proposed technologies were tested and proved based on the ap-plication of the digital photogrammetric processes to extract 3-D ground coordinates of terrain features from digital satellite imagery.

An Adaptive Location Detection Scheme for Energy-Efficiency of Smartphones (스마트폰 배터리 효율성을 위한 적응적 위치 탐지 기법)

  • As Location-Based Services (LBSs) of smartphones increases, the power consumption of a smartphone due to Global Positioning System (GPS) is becoming increasingly serious. This paper presents a new location estimation scheme for smartphones called Adaptive Location Detection (ALD). ALD adaptively detects the location of a smartphone considering the movement pattern of a user, category of applications executed in the smartphone, and the battery level. Simulation with various real applications and scenarios show that ALD reduces 37% of energy consumption compared to GPS. Nevertheless, it satisfies the accuracy requirement of each situation.

  • There is not much method of using C4 Raffinate III, despite having high olefin contents. The majority of the C4 Raffinate III have been converted into n-butane through hydrogenation, and sold as LPG. The C4 Raffinate III is rich 2-butenes with very low isobutene and isobutene contents. The 2-butenes are converted into 1-butene in the vicinity of thermodynamic equilibrium yield through positional isomerization with n-almumina catalyst calcinated at $400{\sim}600^{\circ}C$. The overall process is composed of isomerization-reactor, de-1-buteneizer to prepare the reactants and to enrich reactive products, and 1-butene column to product a high purity 1-butene. The production of 1-butene increases by 40~60 wt% with the selective positional isomerization from the existing separation method.

Agrobacterium-Mediated Genetic Transformation of Pepper for the Development of Blight Resistant Cultivar (고추의 역병 저항성 품종 개발을 위하여 Agrobacterium tumefaciens를 이용한 elicitin 유전자 도입)

  • The study was carried out to develop transformants resisting to Phyophthora blight disease in the domestic pepper cultivar Subicho. In transforming of syn600 promoter with elicitin gene using Agrobacterium (LBA4404/pBI101 syn600-syn${\alpha}$-elicitin) to cotyledons of pepper, rate of shoot formation in 'Subicho' was 11.1% in medium containing 3 mg/L zeatin and 0.05 mg/L NAA, and also 12.8% in medium containing combination of 4 mg/L zeatin and 0.05 mg/L MAA. For PCR reaction using elicitin gene primer of transformants regenerated from cotyledons, we detected a specific band of 536 bp, and also showed strong signal at position of 536 bp in accordance with NPTII gene used as probe in Southern blot. Transformants pepper shown resistance to blight fungus was inoculated to seedlings of the $T_{1}\;and\;T_{2}$ transformants by concentration (density: zoo spore $10^{3}/mL$).

  • EHMO calculations were performed on several antitumor active as well as inactive purine antimetabolites. Results showed that the N atom (position 9) which corresponds to the position of sugar (position 10) linkage in DNA bases has a net negative charge for antitumor active whereas it has a positive charge for inactive purines. It was also found that overlap population was the smallest for bond between atoms 9 and 10, which agrees with the experimental findings that antitumor activity is effected after conversion to nucleotide level.

  • 상수도관의 노후화에 따라 빈번히 발생하는 상수관망의 용수공급 중단의 피해를 저감하고 관망내에서 발생하는 용수의 수질저하를 방지하기 위하여 용수공급 블록단위에 소규모의 수직형 정수처리 시설을 설치하는 방안이 연구되고 있다. 이와 같이 설치되는 수직형 정수처리 시설을 기존 관망내에 적절한 위치에 설치하여야 최대의 효과를 가져올 수 있다. 이를 위하여 EPANET을 활용하여 수직형 정수처리 시설을 다양한 지점에 설치한다고 가정한 후 개별 설치지점별 수리학적 안정성을 절점의 압력변동폭으로 정량화하여 최적위치를 결정할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법을 국내 A 관망에 적용하여 적용성을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 회전자 위치 오차 예측 알고리즘(RPEPA)를 이용한 BLDC 전동기의 센서리스 제어 방법을 제안한다. 회전자 위치 정보는 3상 단자 전압으로부터 간접적인 Back-EMF 검출에 의해 추정되고, 저역통과 필터는 스위칭 노이즈 제거를 위해 사용된다. 제안한 방법은 저속 영역에서 기존 방법들 보다 향상된 성능을 갖고 있다. 필터에 의해 발생되는 위상 오차는 새로운 RPEPA에 의해 실시간 보상되어 정확한 전환시점을 결정한다. RPEPA를 이용한 센서리스 방법은 넓은 속도범위와 전동기의 효율을 개선시킨다. 제안한 방법은 실험을 통하여 타당성과 효율성을 검증한다.

  • In this paper, a novel indirect rotor position sensing method is proposed to improve the performClIlce of sensorless drive of brushless DC motors. The fast mode change to the sensorless operation is difficult in the existing indirect rotor position sensing methods because a precise rotor position can not be obtained when an excessive input is applied to the drive during synchronous operation mode. To cope with this problem, the relationship between terminal voltage and back-emf waveform is analyzed in this paper, also a novel indirect position sensing method which can detect a precise rotor position at low speed range is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through the experimental results.

Introduction of Maize Transposable Elements, Ac and Ds into the Genome of a Diploid Potato Species (옥수수 전위유전자 Ac 및 Ds의 2배체종 감자 Genome 내로의 도입)

  • Two maize transposable elements, immobilized Ac (iAc) and Ds, have been introduced into the genome of a diploid potato clone (Solanum tuberosum Group Phureja clone 1.22). The iAc is a modified Ac that is supposed to be unable to transpose but is expected to trans-activate the transposition of a Ds that is unable to transpose by itself. When the leaf and stem explants of in vitro shoots of the clone 1.22 were inoculated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains harboring binary vectors containing the iAc and the Ds, calli were formed from the explants on media containing 50 mg/L of kanamycin, and shoots were regenerated from the calli. The regenerated shoots formed roots when cultured on media containing 100 mg/L of kanamycin, whereas untransformed shoots did not form roots on the same media. The PCR amplification of the DNA's from the transgenic plants confirmed that the iAc and the Ds elements were introduced into the potato genome of 1.22.

A shot change detection algorithm based on frame segmentation and object movement (프레임 블록화와 객체의 이동을 이용한 샷 전환 탐지 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a shot change detection algorithm by using frame segmentation and the object changes among moving blocks. In order to detect the rapid moving changes of objects between two consecutive frames, the moving blocks on the diagonal are defined, and their histograms are calculated. When a block of the current frame is compared to the moving blocks of the next frame, the block histograms are used and the threshold of a shot change detection is automatically adjusted by Otsu's threshold method. The proposed algorithm was tested for the various types of color or gray videos such as films, dramas, animations, and video tapes in National Archives of Korea. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm could enhance the detection rate when compared to the studied methods that use brightness, histogram, or segmentation.
