A Camera Based Traffic Signal Generating Algorithm for Safety Entrance of the Vehicle into the Joining Road (차량의 안전한 합류도로 진입을 위한 단일 카메라 기반 교통신호 발생 알고리즘)

  • Safety is the most important for all traffic management and control technology. This paper focuses on developing a flexible, reliable and real-time processing algorithm which is able to generate signal for the entering vehicle at the joining road through a camera and image processing technique. The images obtained from the camera located beside and upon the road can be used for traffic surveillance, the vehicle's travel speed measurement, predicted arriving time in joining area between main road and joining road. And the proposed algorithm displays the confluence safety signal with red, blue and yellow color sign. The three methods are used to detect the vehicle which is driving in setted detecting area. The first method is the gray scale normalized correlation algorithm, and the second is the edge magnitude ratio changing algorithm, and the third is the average intensity changing algorithm The real-time prototype confluence safety signal generation algorithm is implemented on stored digital image sequences of real traffic state and a program with good experimental results.

  • Recently, unmanned systems have been studied and developed in various areas including aircrafts, automobiles and vessels. In addition, many researches about unmanned systems in Korea have been studying actively with the advancement of IT However, it is not satisfied with the result of the researches and developments. Bemuse of the reason we've here tried to make a very small USV which is a barge type. We applied the Great circle navigation calculation based on GPS to the autonomous navigation algorithm and used the LabVIEW 8.2 developed by NI corp. for programming The engine and rudder were controlled by pulse width modulation method. The engine system was composed of the DC motor and ESC(Electronic Speed Controller). It was also applied by the direct cooling system using DC motor pump. A very small USV was designed and made by ourself and it was verified the effectiveness of autonomous navigation algorithm through the tests at the sea.

Scleral Diagnostic System Implementation with Color and Blood Vessel Sign Pattern Code Generations (컬러와 혈관징후패턴 코드 생성에 의한 공막진단시스템 구현)

  • The paper describes the scleral diagnostic system implementation for human eyes by using the scleral color code and vessels sign pattern code generations. The system is based on the high performance DSP image signal processor, programmable gain control for preprocessing and RISC SD frames storage. RGB image signals are optimized by PGC, the edge image is detected form the gray image converted. The processing algorithms are executed by scleral color code generation and scleral vessels sign pattern code creation for discriminating and matching. The scleral symptomatic color code is generated by YCbCr values at memory map tolerated and the vessel sign pattern code is created by digitizing the 24 clock and 13 ring zones, overlay matching and tolerances. The experimental results for performance are that the system runs 40ms, and the color and pattern for diagnostic errors are around 20% and 24% on average. The system and technique enable a scleral diagnosis with subdividing the patterns and patient database.

  • 본 연구에서는 Embedded 기판용 폴리머 후막저항의 허용편차 개선을 위하여 새로운 후막 패터닝 기술을 도입하는 연구를 실시하였다. 기존의 Embedded 기판용 폴리머 후막저항은 스크린 인쇄에 의하여 형성됨에 따라 패턴의 정밀성이 떨어지고 기판 상 위치별 두께편차에 의하여 저항값의 허용편차(tolerance)가 ${\pm}$20~30% 정도로 큰 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 경화 후 laser trimming 공정을 필수적으로 동반하게 된다. 이를 개선하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 알칼리 수용액에 현상이 가능한 감광성 레진을 이용하여 폴리머 후막저항 페이스트를 제작하는 것과 함께 기판 전면에 균일한 두께로 인쇄하는 roll coating 방법을 도입하는 실험을 수행하였다. 알칼리 현상형의 감광성 레진 시스템은 노광 및 현상에 의해 정밀한 패턴을 구현할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있으며, 본 연구에는 A사의 일액형 레진과 T사의 이액형 레진을 사용하였다. 여기에 전도성 필러로서 카본블랙을 첨가하였는데, 그 첨가량의 조절에 따른 후막저항의 시트저항값 변화와 현상 특성을 관찰하였다. 테스트 보드는 FR-4 기판 상에 전극 형상의 동박을 패터닝 후 Ni/Au 도금까지 실시하여 제작하였고, 이 테스트 보드 상에 별도로 제작된 저항 페이스트를 도포한 후 저항체 패턴이 입혀져 있는 Cr 마스크를 이용하여 노광하였다. 이후 현상 공정을 통하여 저항체를 패터닝하고, 이를 $200^{\circ}C$에서 1시간 열경화하는 것으로 후막 저항 테스트쿠폰을 제작하였다. 실험결과 roll coating에 의해 도포된 후막저항체들은 균일한 두께 범위를 나타내었고, 이에 따라 최종 경화 후 허용편차도 통상 ${\pm}$5~10% 이내로 제어될 수 있었다.

Development of Tracking Equipment for Real­Time Multiple Face Detection (실시간 복합 얼굴 검출을 위한 추적 장치 개발)

  • This paper presents a multiple face detector based on a robust pupil detection technique. The pupil detector uses active illumination that exploits the retro­reflectivity property of eyes to facilitate detection. The detection range of this method is appropriate for interactive desktop and kiosk applications. Once the location of the pupil candidates are computed, the candidates are filtered and grouped into pairs that correspond to faces using heuristic rules. To demonstrate the robustness of the face detection technique, a dual mode face tracker was developed, which is initialized with the most salient detected face. Recursive estimators are used to guarantee the stability of the process and combine the measurements from the multi­face detector and a feature correlation tracker. The estimated position of the face is used to control a pan­tilt servo mechanism in real­time, that moves the camera to keep the tracked face always centered in the image.

  • Mobile Harbor(MH) is a new paradigm for maritime transport system introduced in Korea, the target of which is to carry out ship-to-ship cargo operation rapidly and effectively even under a condition of sea state 3. A MH ship is moored alongside a large container vessel anchored at the defined anchorage and also equipped with gantry cranes for handling containers. The MH study concerned includes rapid container handling system, optimum design for floating structure, hybrid berthing & cargo operation system, design for cargo handling crane, etc. This paper is to deal with a conceptual design of a stabilized mooring system and mooring equipment under a condition of ship-to-ship mooring. In this connection, we suggest a positioning control winch system in order to control heave motions of the MH ship which is to add constant brakepower and stabilized function to an auto-tension winch and mooring equipment used currently in large container ships.

다중 이종구조를 가진 전자 수송층을 사용한 녹색 유기발광소자의 발광 메카니즘

  • 유기발광소자의 제작 기술이 빠르게 발전함에 따라 디스플레이와 조명 분야에서 많은 응용 가능성을 보여주고 있다. 유기발광소자의 발광효율은 발광층내에서 전자와 정공의 비와 밀접한 관계가 있기 때문에 전자 수송층과 정공 수송층내에서 전하의 이동도를 제어하는 구조에 대한 연구는 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 전자 수송층으로 tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum ($Alq_3$)와 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (BPhen)의 다중 이종구조를 사용하여 제작된 녹색 유기발광소자의 전기적 성질과 광학적 성질을 연구하였다. $Alq_3$와 BPhen 다중 이종구조의 위치와 이종구조 개수의 변화에 따라 전자의 변하는 전송특성으로 인하여 변화되는 발광특성을 체계적으로 조사하였다. 유기발광소자의 구동전압은 $Alq_3$/BPhen 이종구조의 수가 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 보인다. $Alq_3$와 BPhen 내에서 전자의 이동도가 다르기 때문에 $Alq_3$/BPhen 이종계면에 전자가 축적되어 공간전하를 형성하므로 계면에서 내부전계가 형성되어 구동전압이 약간 증가하는 경향을 보인다. 또한 $Alq_3$/BPhen 이종계면에서 축적된 전자들로 인하여 형성된 내부 전계로 인해 저전압에서 누설 정공의 수가 증가하였다. 그러나 다중 이종구조로 된 전자 수송층을 포함한 유기발광소자의 발광 효율은 구동전압이 증가할수록 안정화 되었다. 이는 이종계면의 수가 증가함에 따라 각각의 이종계면에서 축적되는 전자의 양이 감소하기 때문에 고전압에서 효율감소율이 작아졌다. $Alq_3$/BPhen 다중 이종구조를 가진 전자 수송층내에서 전자의 전송 메카니즘에 대한 이해는 유기발광소자의 발광효율이 안정화된 구조를 설계하는데 중요한 실험적 결과를 제공한다.

Vehicle Detection Scheme Based on a Boosting Classifier with Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) Features and Image Segmentation] (HOG 특징 및 영상분할을 이용한 부스팅분류 기반 자동차 검출 기법)

  • In this paper, we describe a study of a vehicle detection method based on a Boosting Classifier which uses Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) features and Image Segmentation techniques. An input image is segmented by means of a split and merge algorithm. Then, the two largest segmented regions are removed in order to reduce the search region and speed up processing time. The HOG features are then calculated for each pixel in the search region. In order to detect the vehicle region we used the AdaBoost (adaptive boost) method, which is well known for classifying samples with two classes. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, 537 training images were used to train and learn the classifier, followed by 500 non-training images to provide the recognition rate. From these experiments we were able to detect the proper image 98.34% of the time for the 500 non-training images. In conclusion, the proposed method can be used for detecting the location of a vehicle in an intelligent vehicle control system.

SLNR-Based Precoder Design for Multiuser MIMO in Distributed Antenna Systems (분산 안테나 시스템에서 다중 사용자 MIMO를 위한 SLNR 기반의 프리코더 설계)

  • In this paper, we consider a precoder design for downlink multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) in distributed antenna systems (DAS). In DAS, remote radio heads (RRHs) are placed at geographically different locations within a cell area. Three different precoder design schemes are proposed to maximize the separate or joint signal-to-leakage-plus-noise ratio (SLNR) metrics by considering RRH sum power or per-RRH power constraints. The analytical closed-form form solution for each optimization problem is presented. Through computer simulation, we show that the joint SLNR based precoding schemes have better signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and bit error rate (BER) performances than the separate SLNR based schemes. Also, it is shown that the precoding scheme with RRH sum power constraint has better performance than the precoding scheme with per-RRH power constraint.

NOMA Transmission Scheme using MU-MIMO and STBC (MU-MIMO와 STBC를 적용한 NOMA 전송 기법)

  • In order to improve a total system throughput when a base station (BS) transmits data to user equipments (UEs), we propose a scheme to apply multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO), space-time block coding (STBC), and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) together. An MU-MIMO is applied to two UEs near the BS and STBC is applied to a UE far from the BS because of the difficulty of obtaining the channel information. Also NOMA is applied to differentiate the data from the near UE and the far UE. Two orthognal precoding vectors are used for the MU-MIMO UEs and it causes no interference between them. The STBC technique with the two procoding vectors are also used for the far UEs. Through performance analysis and simulation, we show that the proposed scheme has higher total system throughput than the conventional ones.
