2002년 7월 1일부터 시행되어 4년이 경과하 제조물책임(PL)법. 시행 당시에는 소비자의 피해배상 청구가 시워지고 제조물의 안전성이 강화되는 긍정적인 효과가 있었던 반면 기업경영 활동에 위축을 가져다 준 것도 사실이었다. 4년이 경과한 현 시점에서 제도가 얼마나 잘 정착되었는지 알아본다.

국제 양계시장은 동남아뿐만 아니라 유럽 국가 등 전 세계적으로 조류인플루엔자가 확산되면서 각국에서 양계산물이 수입을 중단하는 등 시장교류 절차가 강화되고 있으며 감역국의 소비시장 또한 위축되고 있다. 그러나 이런 위기 상황 속에서도 한국의 한 중소기업이 저온살균계란이라는 첨단 기술을 개발하여 안전한 살균 계란을 생산하게 되었으며 이 기술과 생산 시설을 홍콩에 수출을 계약하면서 업계에 비상한 관심을 모으고 있다.

이 내용은 한국방위산업진흥회 상근부회장이 지난 6월 17일, 군사과학대학원생을 대상으로 강의한 내용을 정리, 요약한 것이다. 여기에서 필자는, 한반도의 안보정세, 세계의 군비 축소 추세, 수출입 동향과 우리나라 방위산업의 현실태, 그리고 발전 전망을 분석하고, 세계 무기시장 위축에 따른 미국의 방위산업체 구조조정 사례의 예를 들면서 우리나라 방위산업의 발전과제와 국가안보를 위한 방위산업 육성의 당위성을 제시하였다.

At the department of prosthodontics, the elderly patients with severely atrophied alveolar ridge who have been wearing complete dentures for a long period frequently visit the clinic. In general, the open-mouth impression technique for manufacturing a mandibular complete denture to secure primary support on buccal shelf area has been prevalent. In addition, for securing retention and stability of mandibular denture, we should consider diagnosis, oral function, denture border, occlusal plane, teeth arrangement, and patient training, etc.. But in edentulous patients with severe alveolar bone atrophy, it may hardly secure retention and stability of mandibular complete denture. To promote these, some of clinicians are making an attempt manufacturing the mandibular complete dentures using closed-mouth impression technique based on several reports that compare various impression techniques including open-mouth and closed-mouth impression technique. This case report suggests closed-mouth impression technique may promote retention and stability of mandibular complete denture and compares between the two impression techniques clinically.

Fibrothorax is the end stage of chronic pathologic processes of pleura such as hemothorax, empyema, or tuberculous effusion. The pleural space become adherent and obliterated, and the lung parenchyma is covered by a thick, fibrous, unexpandable "peel", so the lung function is diminished markedly with impaired ventilation and oxygenation. Constrictive pericarditis is often accompanied fibrothorax, also cardiac and hemodynamic function is deteriorated. Surgical relief of these fibrous peels causes remarkable improvement in pulmonary function, cardiac and hemodynamic function, and subjective symptoms. We experienced a case of bilateral fibrothorax combined with constrictive pericarditis which occured 3 years after bilateral tuberculous effusion. Decortication and percardiectomy were done at the same time through bilateral submammary thoracotomy with sternal transection. Comparing postoperative Peripheral venous pressure, Circulation time, Pulmonary function test, Arterial blood gas analysis, Subjective symptoms with preoperative conditions showed noticeable improvement.provement.

Cockpit 내에서도 다른 사회영역과 마찬가지로 "기장", "부기장"이라는 직함 및 직급에 의한 상하관계의 권력거리가 형성된다. 권력거리가 높은 우리나라 사회에서는 다른 사회영역과 마찬가지로 Cockpit 내에서도 권력거리가 높게 나타남은 분명한 사실이다. 그러므로 사회적 심리거리를 느끼는 부기장은 기장에게 운항안전에 관한 조언을 하는 데 있어서 상대적으로 위축되며, 또한 그러한 분위기도 형성되어 있지 않다. 따라서 승무원 간의 긴밀한 협력이 요구되는 Cockpit 환경에서 상호 간의 적극적인 Communication이 이루어져야 하지만 이러한 사회적 분위기 때문에 조언이 위축되고 크고 작은 운항안전 event, 심지어는 대형 사고로 이어질 수 있는 위험성을 내포하고 있다. 따라서 한국식 사고와 문화적 의식을 지니고 있는 조종사들은 문화적 마찰을 겪을 수 있다. 이러한 그들의 문화가 잘 스며든 효율적이고 안전한 운항을 위해서는 간단히 말해 그들의 문화와 맞추는 노력이 필요하다. 즉, 권력거리가 낮추는 연습이 필요 하다. 따라서 교육훈련도 거기에 맞추는 권력거리를 낮은 방식의 교육훈련이 효과적일 수 있다. 권력거리가 낮은 문화권의 교육의 중심은 교관과 학생간의 낮은 권력거리가 특징이다. 이를 바탕으로 교육훈련의 중심을 학생중심으로 맞추어 학생의 적극적인 참여를 이끌며, 교육자인 교관은 "Facilitator"로서의 역할을 수행할 필요성이 있다. 결과적으로는 학생과 교관과의 낮은 권력거리를 체험, 연습하게 되며, 실제 라인에서도 이러한 관계가 기장 부기장으로 이어지는 상하관계에 있어서도 주도적으로 참여, 조언할 수 있는 밑바탕을 제공해주어야 한다.

This study investigated prevalence rates and differences in social behaviors, psychosocial adjustments, and language ability of preschool children who engaged in bully/victim subgroups: aggressive victims, passive victims, bullies, and non-involved. The participants were 297 preschool children and their teachers in Jeju City. The teachers measured children's peer victimization, social behaviors, and teacher-child relationships. Children's language ability and self-concept were also assessed by individual interview. There were significant differences in social behaviors, psychosocial adjustments, and language ability among the bully/victim subgroups. Aggressive victims included in a high risk group characterized by a high level of aggression, ADHD, peer rejection as well as conflicted relationships with teachers. Moreover, they had limited language ability. The findings highlight behavioral heterogeneity among the bully/victim subgroups in early childhood.

Clinical and bacteriological observations on infectious atrophic rhinitis of swine were conducted in order to obtain some basic information for the clinical and immnnological control of the disease prevailing in the republic. Samples were collected from nasal cavities of 135 4~12 week old pigs from 12 herds and from turbinates of 199 slaughtering pigs from 14 swine herds to investigate the prevalence of Bordetella bronchiseptica and/or Pasteurella multocida in the nasal cavities of the pigs. On the examination of nasal swabs by cultural techniques and of gross lesion of snouts of slaughtering pigs, all the swine herds investigated were found to be affected by atrophic rhinitis and a total of 84 B bronchiseptica and 139 P multocida cultures were isolated from the nasal cavities of the pigs. Of the 199 slaughtering pigs, some 48% revealed gross pathological lesion typical of atrophic rhinitis and the prevalence of B bronchiseptica and P multocida were 27.6% and 46.7%, respectively. Biochemical properties, antimicrobial susceptibilities, serological characteristics and toxigenicity of the isolates of B bronchiseptica and P multocida were investigated.
