Speech enhancement used to improve the perceptual quality and intelligibility of noise speech has been studied as a method using a complex-valued spectrum that can improve both magnitude and phase in a method using a magnitude spectrum. In this paper, a study was conducted on how to apply attention mechanism to complex-valued spectrum-based speech enhancement systems to further improve the intelligibility and quality of noise speech. The attention is performed based on additive attention and allows the attention weight to be calculated in consideration of the complex-valued spectrum. In addition, the global average pooling was used to consider the importance of the feature map. Complex-valued spectrum-based speech enhancement was performed based on the Deep Complex U-Net (DCUNET) model, and additive attention was conducted based on the proposed method in the Attention U-Net model. The results of the experiments on noise speech in a living room environment showed that the proposed method is improved performance over the baseline model according to evaluation metrics such as Source to Distortion Ratio (SDR), Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ), and Short Time Object Intelligence (STOI), and consistently improved performance across various background noise environments and low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) conditions. Through this, the proposed speech enhancement system demonstrated its effectiveness in improving the intelligibility and quality of noisy speech.
To overcome the limitations of current evaluation procedures for floor vibration under crowd loading, two kinds of uncertainties associated with individual time lag differences and the complex behavior of crowd should be taken into account. The complex behavior of crowds has yet to be fully described, even though individual differences can be dealt with statistically. This paper proposes time lag considered (TLC) crowd model based on a probabilistic approach. The load reduction factor, which reflects the effect of a general degree of synchronization among crowd, is proposed. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations were carried out to determine various crowd behaviors by using the TLC crowd model proposed. The TLC crowd model can rationally treat the energy loss of various crowd patterns. This indicates that it may be used as a theoretical basis in refining dynamic load factor of crowd loading.

The paper describes simulations and experimental results using a measuring system which utilizes the acoustic holographic method in order to exactly estimate an absolute position of a sound source. The measuring surface is installed to satisfy with a far field to the sound source and is composed of linear arrayed seven microphones. A measurement is simultaneously recorded by a reference microphone setting up a neighbour sound source and the linear arrayed seven microphones which are moved to the same interval. An absolute position of sound source is estimated by the cross-spectrum method to the received sounds between a reference and the measuring microphones. Phase differences of each microphone and time delays during scanning are compensated to the reference microphone and the measuring time of the first column. An optimal interval for each microphone in the measuring surface is decided by a numerical simulation. A source signal makes use of a sinusoid, and S/N ratio is 30dB in the experiment. The optimal microphone's interval in the simulation and the experiment is decided in order to satisfy with the Nyquist space sampling condition related to the wave length of 2kHz sinusoid. Mainlobe width of a estimated 3D hologram in the case of 2kHz source signal is decreased to 87% and 30% in comparison to 500Hz and 1kHz, and then a valid of simulation results is confirmed. Therefore, we verified a utilization of the study for a sound source estimation using 3ㅇ acoustic holographic method.

Partial transmit sequence(PTS) scheme has been widely studied to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM) signal since it is flexible ad any spectral regrowth is not made. A necessity of the PTS scheme is to transmit the side information about the phase rotation factors for correct OFDM symbol recovery. In this paper, a new side information embedded PTS scheme using the reference symbols is proposed fur the PAPR reduction and the BER(bit error rate) performance is analyzed when the erroneous side information is received. In this proposed method, the information about the rotation factors is expressed by the phase of reference symbols. The proposed method maintains the same PAPR reduction performance as the conventional PTS scheme and OFDM symbols are correctly recovered by the side information to meet the required BER level, which is verified via the computer simulation. Also, it is shown that the proposed method can be easily realized and can be used for all kinds of digital modulation formats in the OFDM communication system.

In order to predict structural vibration and radiated noise of high-voltage transformer in operation, it is necessary to precisely find the excitation force generated by the coils and core. However, finding the excitation force through experiments of high voltage transformer in operation is not possible. Therefore, this paper deals with identifying the excitation force by using the acceleration data measured through experiments and the transfer function estimated through finite element model. A method to predict structural vibration and radiated noise was also proposed. Three-phase windings and the core are the source of high-voltage transformer. The excitation forces were identified using the acceleration data and the transfer function of the surface of the tank. Structural vibration and radiated noise from the surface of the tank was predicted by using the identified excitation force. As a result of the interpretation of the experimental and computational analysis of structural vibration from the surface of the tank and radiated noise from the field point, the interpretation of the computational analysis showed relatively good accordance with the experiment.

This paper is study on performance analysis of modulator using direct digital frequency synthesizer of Initial Clock Accumulating Method. It has been generally used for PLL or digital frequency synthesizing method to be synthesizd randomly chosen frequency state. In order to improve disadvantage of two methods, we constructed modulator system using DDFS of Initial Clock Accumulating Method. We also confirmed the coherence frequency hopping state and possibility of phase control. The results obtained from the experiments are as follows; First, the synthesized output frequency is proportional to the sampling frequency, according to index, K. Second, the difference of the gain between the basic frequency and the harmonic frequencies was more than 50 [dB], that is, this means facts that is reduced the harmonic frequency factor. Third, coherence frequency hopping state is confirmed by PN code sequence. Here, we confirmed the proposed method cut switching time, this verify facts that is the best characteristic of the frequency hopping. We also verified the fact that the phase varies as the adder is operated set or reset.
The passive surface wave survey using microtremor is conducted in areas of crystalline rock basements to obtain average shear-wave velocity structures to 30 m deep (Vs30), on which the earthquake-resistant design standard is based. Test data were recorded at two sites with triangular and L-shaped arrays for 4 seconds with an sampling interval of 2 ms. The microtremor recorded at a site were analysed using the spatial autocorrelation method to obtain phase-velocity spectra and effects of major factors such as size and shape of away and number of record and receiver were examined. At the other site, shear-wave velocities were derived from VSP and microtremor data separately. The results from these two methods agree to each other reasonably well, indicating that the microtremor method can be an effective geophysical tool to measure Vs30.
Based on the performance analyses for transmission channel and signal characteristics in digital satellite broadcasting system. the optimal design parameter values for system using QPSK modulation technique were proposed in this paper. The proper performance degradation were of 2.0dB for channel characteristics. O.4dB for transmission signal characteristics and 0.2dB for receiver characteristics. respectively. In this case. the design objectives for system parameters were within ${\pm}\;0.5dB$ for gain flatness in 27MHz bandwidth. and O.1nsec/MHz and $0.2sec/MHz^2$ for linear and parabolic group delay. respectively. Also. the optimal parameter values that provide the maximum availability were of OdB OBO for satellite transponder TWTA. and the optimal bandwidth for PLL circuit was of 40kHz with 0.707 damping factor. These analyses and design values can be available for high data rate transmission system via satellite.
We prepared the side-chain type nonlinear optical NPP(N-(6-nitrophenyl)-(L)-prolinol) polymer films by spin coating method. Ellipsometric spectra were in situ collected by using spectroscopic phase modulated ellipsometer while the NPP polymer films were being corona poled at the temperature above glass transition. We calculated film thickness and the refractive index dispersion by modeling the spectro-ellipsometry data in transparent region. We also calculated the refractive index and the extinction coefficient of the polymer films by numerically inverting the spectro-ellipsometry data in absorbing region, while the previously determined film thickness was used. The independently determined extinction coefficient spectra from the analysis of transmission spectra were compared with those by spectro-ellipsometry and they showed an excellent agreement with each other. From the analysis of the complex refractive index change of the NPP polymer thin films induced by the corona poling, we could determine the vertical complex refractive index and the horizontal complex refractive index separately. Using the volume fraction of the vertical component f⊥, the degree of poling of poled NPP polymer films was quantitatively addressed. It is suggested that the present method can be used to quantitatively address the degree of poling in an absolute manner and to depth profile the poled fraction of thick polymer films. It will be useful to understand the structural change of polymer films and hence the poling mechanism during the poling process.

We compare three predistortion methods to prevent signal distortion and spectral re-growth due to the high PAPR (peak-to-average ratio) of OFDM signal and the non-linearity of high-power amplifiers. The three predistortion methods are pth order inverse, indirect learning architecture and look up table. The pth order inverse and indirect learning architecture methods requires less memory and has a fast convergence because these methods use a polynomial model that has a small number of coefficients. Nevertheless the convergence is fast due to the small number of coefficients and the simple computation that excludes manipulation of complex numbers by separate compensation for the magnitude and phase. The look up table method is easy to implement due to simple computation but has the disadvantage that large memory is required. Computer simulation result reveals that indirect learning architecture shows the best performance though the gain is less than 1 dB at $BER\;=\;10^{-4}$ for 64-QAM. The three predistorters are adaptive to the amplifier aging and environmental changes, and can be selected to the requirements for implementation.
