Web based instruction (WBI) has been widely used thesedays because the web has various advantages for instruction. However, most of current WBI systems do not support various requirements from students. It is because of the lack of research for structural instruction method. This paper presents a new method of WBI and designs an instruction model to support various requirements from students by implementing dynamic WBI system using JSP to solve current WBI problems. The developed WBI system uses multimedia based instructions. The implemented system focused on the practical instruction by providing the functions of listening, homework, and test on web site. For the similar effects as in the classroom, it supports functions of electronic white board and multimedia data which is consisted of high-quality sound and video data with high degree of compression. Furthermore, the system supports that instructors can design a test using three kinds of basic forms, a multiple-choice test, brief-answer test, essay test, and evaluate the tests easily. It also supports easy management for homework, lecture registration, and many school affairs.

The present education situations are rapidly changing to adapt to 'the Knowledge & Information-based Society'. Especially, the implementation of 'the 7th National Curriculum' put strong emphasis on the learner-centered education that refers to the ability grouping. Therefore, it is necessary that the change from a traditional teaching method to a learner-centered one in geography education will take place. This study will present a design of geography ability grouping through the Task-Solving Learning. This ability grouping method is suitable for the large class. And this study also presents a strategy by applying WBI, which make use of the advantage of computer and constructivism. This WBI model can be applied properly to many teaching-learning methods that includes Self-Directed Learning, Collaborate Learning, Ability Grouping, and Applying ICT Instruction. Actually they are demanded in the current education. A geography-classroom will have an accessible internet program as a precondition for this instruction.

요즘 우리나라는 교육 정보화 사업으로 인해 가정과 학교에서 인터넷이 일반화 되어가면서 웹 기반 수업(Web Based Instruction)이 교육에 여러 가지 긍정적인 효과를 발휘할 것이라는 기대 때문에 관심이 증대되고 있다 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터를 이용한 WBI를 네트워크 컴퓨터 시대의 새로운 교수학습방법으로 제시하면서 WBI의 필요성과 여러 방면에서 WBI가 교육에 미치는 효과에 대해 알아보고 현재 WBI가 안고 있는 문제점 및 해결방안에 대해 알아보았다.

In the early stage of Web-based Instruction, it didn't gain preference in spite of it's benefit of convenience. The main reason is, I think, the lack of generality at the education system which eventually results in unsatisfactory facilities compared with the requirement of teachers and students. And the early systems don't make good use of the plenty data in distributed environment, and don't show so good reliablity due to lack of systematic design and development. In this paper, we suggest WBI developing technology using the concept of WBSE. WBI developing is consist of component of pre-developed education software, integration of component using its reusability, and production of more requirement-satisfactory education software.

웹기반 수업(Web-Based Introduction: WBI)은 학습자의 지식이나 능력을 향상시키기 위하여 의도적인 상호작용을 웹을 통해 전달하는 활동으로서 자기주도적학습을 가능하게 하고 통시적 커뮤니케이션 통로를 제공하며 다양한 학습 지원 도구를 제공한다. 따라서 본 연구는 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 학습자가 원하는 시간에 원하는 시간만큼 학습할 수 있는 인격강의시스템을 현장에 도입하여 수업운영에 효과적으로 활용하고자 한다.

Establishing problem-based leaning(PBL) that is one type of constitutional learning models is meaningful not only for finding the diversity of WBI types but also for being the specific example of constitutional usage of WBI. This paper shows the development of web-based and problem-based learning program for 6th grade students of elementary school and finds its effect on their studies achievement. There were two classes of traditional lessons and one class of web-based and problem-based lessons. It performed a test with the classes for science lesson. It was found that web-based and problem-based learning is more effective on the improvement of studies achievement. There was meaningful difference in studies achievement according to ICT utilization ability. Web-based and problem-based learning statistically had a meaningful effect on the improvement of ICT utilization ability.

The value of Web in information societyis increasing in the field of education. Web Based Instruction (WBI) has an unlimited possibility of access the information. It also overcome the constraint of time and space more than the previous class learning method. The previous WBI system informed the results of study to learners after a professor's lecture and test was given. The uniform test didn't make the professor recognize the learner's evaluation according to the level of the learner and it couldn't be a reason to change a teaching method. In this paper, we discuss the Learning Evaluation(LE) component which can support a teaching method to teachers. We suggest LE component for supporting teachers as suggesting visually the test result of pre-test by step and post-test with several ways after analyzing, designing and realizing the evaluation of the test based on CDP(Component Development Process).

현재, 사회가 정보화 되어감에 따라 교육분야에서 컴퓨터의 가치는 더욱 높아지고 있으며, 기존의 교실위주의 수업보다 시간적 공간적 제약을 덜 받게 되는 WBI(Web Based Instruction)는 무한한 발전 가능성을 가지고 있다. 하지만 기존의 WBI에서는 교수의 강의가 끝나면 수업 평가 후 학생에게 수업의 결과를 알려주는 형식이었고, 도한 학습자에게는 일률적으로 평가가 적용되어 학생의 수준에 맞는 수업을 할 수가 없었으며, 교수의 입장에서도 학생들의 평가 결과가 수업의 질을 높이거나 내용을 변경시킬 근거가 될 수는 없었다. 따라서 수준별 학습을 위한 단계별 예비 테스트와 학습 후 테스트의 평가내용을 다양한 방법으로 시각적으로 제시하고, 또한 교수가 평가의 준거를 입력하고 학습자의 평가결과와 교수자의 평가준거를 비교할 수 있는 교수지원 컴포넌트를 작성하고자 한다. 이는 체계적인 평가 방법론이 되고 학습의 패러다임을 바꾸거나 과목을 변경할 경우, 그 결과에 따라 교수 방법의 변화나 수업내용을 변경하고자할 때 용이하다. 또한 유사한 다른 패러다임의 WBI 시스템에서도 이미 개발된 컴포넌트를 사용함으로써, 사용의 용이성과 이식성, 재사용성을 높일 수 있게 한다.

We call WBI the educational program of this new teaching method which uses the web system. The instruction in WBI settings can make students feel more excited and interested in learning activities because it combined various sorts of multimedia materials such as moving pictures, graphics, and sound.. The diverse learning contents of this program not only supplement student's needs but also stimulate their creativities and application abilities. Based on the internet web courseware, this paper attempts to suggest the new program. This design implements the text, image and sound by using Explorer 5.0 in HTML, Javascript, Photoshop 5.0, Flash 4.0, and finally Gif Construction.
