  • 워터쉐드 변환은 영역 분할 속도가 빠르고, 유연하여 이미지 분할 분야에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 워터쉐드 변환은 지역적 최소점을 이용하기 때문에 잡음에 민감하고 과분할되는 단점을 가지고 있다. 또한, 기존 연구들은 그레이 스케일 이미지에 대해서만 워터쉐드를 적용하였다. 본 논문에서는 지역적 최소점에 민감한 워터쉐드 변환에 칼라 기울기 이미지와 모폴로지 기법을 적용하였다. 워터쉐드 변환 후의 분할된 영역은 영역 인접 그래프로 구성하였고, 인접 영역에 대하여 칼라 색상 유사도와 텍스쳐 유사도를 이용하여 영역 병합을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘을 이용할 경우 효과적인 이미지 분할이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴 영상으로부터 워터쉐드 변환을 이용하여 3차원 얼굴 모델을 구성하는 방법을 제안한다. 워터쉐드 변환으로 분할된 각각의 영역으로부터 얼굴의 특징점들을 추출하고 MPEG-4에서 정의해놓은 FDP(Facial Definition Parameter)를 기반으로 얼굴 메쉬모델을 생성한다. 워터쉐드 변환시 발생하는 영역 기반의 과분할 결과에서 얻어지는 정확한 정보와 MPEG-4의 FDP를 기반으로 한 Candide Model을 이용함으로써 매우 간편하게 3D 얼굴 모델을 생성할 수 있고 영상 압축 및 전송에 매우 효율적으로 이용될 수 있다.

  • 워터쉐드 변환은 영상분할을 위한 강력한 도굴로 이용되고 있으나, 일반적으로 다수의 국부적 최소점들로 인한 과분할 현상을 초래하여 이를 해결하기 위한 많은 방법들이 연구되어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 동시정보행렬을 분석하여 비 관련 최소점들을 억제함과 동시에 의미 있는 화소 집합들만을 마커로 선택하고 레이블링하는 자동마커 추출단계와 각 마커로부터 범랑과정 및 재 레이블링에 의한 워터쉐드 추출단계를 수행하여 영상을 분할하는 자동마커 기반 워터쉐드 영상분할 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘이 과분할 정도로 현격히 줄이는 것을 보이기 위해 일반영상과 텍스쳐 특성이 강한 ICQ(Indo Cyanine Green) 망막영상에 적용하여 실험 분석하였다.

  • Existing methods for color image segmentation using diffusion can't preserve contour information, or noises with high gradients become more salient as the number of times of the diffusion increases, resulting in over-segmentation when applied to watershed. This paper proposes a method for color image segmentation by applying morphological operations together with nonlinear diffusion For an input image, transformed into LUV color space, closing by reconstruction and nonlinear diffusion are applied to obtain a simplified image which preserves contour information with noises removed. With gradients computed from this simplified image, watershed algorithm is applied. Experiments show that color images are segmented very effectively without over-segmentation.

  • In this paper, an intelligent security camera over internet is proposed. Among ISC methods, watersheds based methods produce a good performance in segmentation accuracy. But traditional watershed transform has been suffered from over-segmentation due to small local minima included in gradient image that is input to the watershed transform. And a zone face candidates of detection using skin-color model. last step, face to check at face of candidate location using SVM method. It is extract of wavelet transform coefficient to the zone face candidated. Therefore, it is likely that it is applicable to read world problem, such as object tracking, surveillance, and human computer interface application etc.

  • A digital watermarking technique used as a protection and certifying mechanism of copyrighted creations including music, still images, and videos in terms of finding any loss in data, reproduction and pursuit. This study suggests using a selected geometric invariant point through the whole processing procedure of an image and inserting and extracting based on the invariant point so that it will be robust in a geometric transformation attack. The introduced algorithm here is based on a watershed splitting method in order to make medical images strong against RST(Rotation Scale, Translation) transformation and other processing. It also helps to maintain the watermark in images that are compressed and stored for a period of time. This algorithm also proved that is has robustness against not only JPEG compression attack, but also RST attack and filtering attack.

  • Off-line handwritten character recognition is in difficulty of incomplete preprocessing because it has not dynamic information has various handwriting, extreme overlap of the consonant and vowel and many error image of stroke. Consequently off-line handwritten character recognition needs to study about preprocessing of various methods such as binarization and thinning. This paper considers running time of watershed algorithm and the quality of resulting image as preprocessing for off-line handwritten Korean character recognition. So it proposes application of effective watershed algorithm for segmentation of character region and background region in gray level character image and segmentation function for binarization by extracted watershed image. Besides it proposes thinning methods that effectively extracts skeleton through conditional test mask considering routing time and quality of skeleton, estimates efficiency of existing methods and this paper's methods as running time and quality. Average execution time on the previous method was 2.16 second and on this paper method was 1.72 second. We prove that this paper's method removed noise effectively with overlap stroke as compared with the previous method.

Fast information extraction algorithm for object-based MPEG-4 conversion from MPEG-1,2 (MPEG-1,2로부터 객체 기반 MPEG-4 변환을 위한 고속 정보 추출 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, a fast information extraction algorithm for object-based MPEG-4 application from MPEG-1,2 is proposed. For object-based MPEG-4 conversion, we need to extract such information as object-image, shape-image, macro-block motion vector, and header information from MPEG-1,2 bit-stream. If we use the extracted information, fast conversion for object-based MPEG-4 is possible. The proposed object extraction algerian has two important steps, namely the motion vector extraction from MPEG-1,2 bit-stream and the watershed algerian The algorithm extracts objects using user's assistance in the intra frame and tracks then in the following inter frames. If we have an unsatisfactory result for a fast moving object the user can intervene to connect the segmentation. The proposed algorithm consist of two steps, which are intra frame object extracting processing and inter frame tracking processing. Object extracting process is the step in which user extracts a semantic object directly by using the block classification and watersheds. Object tracking process is the step of the following the object in the subsequent frames. It is based on the boundary fitting method using motion vector, object-mask and modified watersheds. Experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve a fast conversion from the MPEG-1,2 bit-stream to the object-based MPEG-4 input.

  • The watermarking method was suggested to protect the right of the copyright and the right of property, data loss is yes or not, copy prevention and pursuit about the brainchild(music, image, video and so on) in the early 1990. In this paper, we suggest the watermarking algorithm against the geometrical transformation of the medical images applied the Watershed algorithm. The robust watermarking methodology is being suggested using the several algorithm against the attacks such as compression, filtering, noise and geometrical transformation of the medical image.
