An Incident Detection Method for Using Speed-Density Relations (검지기간 속도-밀도의 관계를 활용한 돌발상황 감지기법)

  • This Paper Presents a novel incident detection method for using the speed-density difference between detectors. When a incident is happened the downstream traffic condition is mostly lower speed and higher density and the upstream is higher speed and lower density In respect of such characteristics, we can suggest a method for detecting an incident based on the speed-density information provided from detectors. The incident detection method is tested by using the accident data collected from the Cheonan-Nonsan Highway. The results show that suck an incident detection method can analyze the position of accident by comparing the speed-density difference between detectors. The work described in this paper is only at on early stage, in the sense that there are several areas to be further investigated in application of this method. such as setting a critical value for judging the incident. a level of accident wave, a varying Pattern between the incident locations and detectors, etc.

Study of engine oil replacement times estimate method using fuzzy and neural network algorithm (퍼지 및 신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 엔진오일 교환 시기 예측 방법에 관한 연구)

  • If we can forecast the replacement time of engine oil, we extend the life-time of our engine and increase the continued ratio. But, the replacement times of engine oil is influenced by the following elements: the distance that cars or vehicles travel, vehicles that run a short range, types of engine oil etc. that run a long distance. In this paper, We forecast engine oil replacement times by using fuzzy neural network algorithm. This algerian uses the data of distance covered, color of engine oil etc. Through a sequence of simulation, the exchange system of intelligence style engine oil decides on the replacement times of engine oil quite accurately. Therefore, We expect vehicles to become more convenient if the above algorithm is a lied to the present types of cars.

  • 2000년 4월 10일은 우리나라에서 처음으로 서울 종로거리에 전등이 켜진지 100년이 되는 날이다. 암흑의 천지를 밝히는 휘황찬란한 이 문명의 불빛은 지금으로부터 100년 전인 1900년 4월 10일, 어두웠던 지금의 서울 종로거리 전차매표소 부근에 3개의 전등이 켜짐으로써 이 나라에도 새로운 문명사회가 열리게 되었음을 알리는 한편, 수 천 년 동안 내려오던 우리 농경사회의 생활방식을 바꾸는 혁명적인 변화를 예고했던 것이다. 그러나 이보다 13년이나 앞선 1887년에 이미 궁중에서는 전등이 점화되어 구궁심처의 신비경으로만 알려졌던 건청궁(현 경복궁)의 전각이 대낮같이 찬연히 빛나는 불빛에 부각되어 사람들을 놀라게 했던 것이다. 그럼에도 113년이 지난 오늘날까지도 이 궁중에서의 시등일이 문헌 등에 의해 확실히 밝혀지지 않고 있다. 이 날을 기념하여 우리나라는 4월 10일은 $\lceil$전기의 날$\rfloor$로 제정하고, 1966년부터 전기산업진흥촉진대회와 함께 격년제로 기념행사를 이어가고 있다.

  • 교통수단을 효율적으로 잘 활용하는 나라가 세계의 주도권을 행사해 왔다면 지나친 비약이라고 생각하는 사람이 있을지 모르겠으나, 해가 지지않는 나라로 찬란하 문화와 부를 구가했던 영국은 19세기 산업혁명에 의해 세계 최초의 증기 기관차를 개발했고, 20세기초에 들어 세계의 부를 누렸던 미국은 그야말로 자동차의 나라라고 할만큼 많은 자동차를 개발해왔다. 이제 맞이해야 될 21세기의 세계 역시, 어떤 나라가 새로운 교통 system을 개발하느냐 하는것도 관심의 대상이 아닐 수 없다. 앞으로는 지금까지 살아온 세대보다도 더 많은 사람의 교류와 정보의 전달 및 물자의 이동이 필요하기 때문이다. 지금 연구에 박차를 가하고 있는 21세기의 항공분야도 초음속 여객기가 상업화되어 그들의 주장대로 서울에서 Losangeles 간을 4시간대에 비행한든지, 뉴욕과 파리간이 2시간 이내에 비행된다면 세계는 어떻게 변모할 것이며, Europe 대륙에서 영국 Dover 해협을 해저로 통과하는 초고속 열차에 의해 Europe을 한 덩어리로 묶고, Europe 대륙에서 Asia 대륙을 횡단하는 초고속 열차가 실용화된다면 세계는 어떻게 변모 할 것인지를 생각해 볼때, 일일 생활권에 놓인 세계는 사회, 경제, 문화면에서 급속한 변화를 겪게 될 것은 분명하다. 이러한 시대적 변화에 순응하기 위해 우리나라에서도 서울, 부산을 2시간대로 운행 할 수 있는 초고속 열차가 추진되고 있고, 이 서울, 부산간을 축으로 하는 경부 고속전철이 완공된 후 서울에서 광주, 서울에서 강릉을 연결하는 국토종합 개발권의 고속전철이 운행된다면, 지역간 시간적 거리가 단축되고 국토 구조도 많이 변모할 것이며, 행정기관의 지방이전이나 서울 중심의 경제적, 문화적 기능들이 지방으로 많이 분산되어 좁은 국토지만 보다 효율적으로 활용될 것으로 기대된다. 이러한 명제를 안고 추진되는 우리나라의 고속전철사업을 생각하면서 이미 실용화된 선진각국의 고속전철에서 사용되고 있는 중전기기들이 어떻게 응용되고 있는지 살펴보기로 하자.

A Study on the Benefit of Driving Amenity Based on Highway Density (도로 밀도에 따른 운전쾌적성 편익에 관한 연구)

  • Normally the benefits concerned in the feasibility study for highway constructions are travel time saving, vehicle operation cost, etc. which can be calculated using the simulation tool(EMME3). However, there must be extra benefits of driving amenity improvement that drivers can perceive through decreasing driving fatigue and improving driving comfortability. In this study, the definition of driving amenity was established and a method of estimation for the benefit of driving amenity improvement was developed. Highway type (urban/rural highway) and highway density was considered to estimate the driving amenity. And Double-bounded Dichotomous Choice among Contingent Valuation Method(CVM) was applied to survey the willingness-to-pay of drivers when highway density decreases. Finally the value of driving amenity was estimated using the results of survey and logit medel. As the existing highway density is high, willingness-to-pay increases in both urban and rural highways. Even though the changing rates of highway density are same, willingness-to-pay is different based on the existing highway density.

A Re-Routable Smart Shuttle Traveling Scheme for Smart Mobility (스마트 모빌리티를 위한 경로변경이 가능한 스마트 셔틀 운행기법 연구)

  • With the development of the 4th Industry Revolution and the progress of related technologies, people have been using various services in a more convenient way in their daily lives. Among these technologies, the smart mobility is a service that effectively transports people or packets from the origin to the final destination using a variety of methods/vehicles. With respect to the smart mobility technology, the shuttle service is operational at the final destination. The conventional shuttle operation only takes into account the shuttle operability and does not consider the shuttle-passenger efficiency at all by the one-way routing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the smart shuttle algorithm that can change the routes to efficiently support boarding passengers. Our proposed scheme consists of 3 algorithms: the shuttle operating algorithm, the re-routable shuttle traveling algorithm, and the passenger-riding algorithm. All those 3 algorithms are effectively co-operated and collaborated for better performance. In-depth experiments were conducted to analyze and to show the superior performance, resulting in an average 23.6% reduction of destination-arrival time per passenger, average 10.37% reduction of shuttle-waiting time per passenger, and average 15.38% decrease of shuttle traveling time per hour. This proves that our smart shuttle traveling scheme reveals the whole remarkable performance, effectively using the re-routable characteristics.

  • This study applies a discrete-continuous choice model to a national survey data set of automobile uses to investigate the potential impacts of a bonus-malus system for new cars in Korea. Not only the impacts on the discrete choice of automobile type and class but also those on the continuous decision making of car operation are analyzed. The characteristics of automobiles and individuals that determine car choice and operation are identified. The simulation based on the estimation result shows that an appropriately designed bonus-malus system can induce a reduction in energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission substantially without additional government expenditure.

Analysis of braking characteristics of electric multiple unit for train control system (열차제어시스템을 위한 전동차 제동특성 분석)

  • This paper presents a braking model that can be used to design the safety distance of a train control system and a train braking system to increase the volume of traffic. For the braking model, a train set (electric multiple unit composed 6 cars) was tested. The factors that can affect the braking characteristics include the friction coefficient, braking pressure, and regenerative braking. The braking pressure was classified into service and emergency braking and reflected the characteristics of the vehicle. The external force acting on the running railway car was tested in accordance with KS R 9217, and the running resistance of the train is presented in the form of a polynomial. The dynamic behavior of the train running on a straight flat line was simulated using UM 8.3. The results were validated with experimental data, and the results were reasonable. With the validated model, a stopping distance was determined according to the initial braking speed and compared with the deceleration braking model. In addition, a safety distance for the train control system could be changed according to the frictional coefficient limits. These results are expected to be useful for analyzing the dynamic behavior of trains, and for analyzing various railway environments and improving the braking performance.

  • Public transportation accessibility has been evaluated through minimum level of service for public transportation. However it is evaluated based operators rather than users. This study analyzed the users' accessibility(first-mile, last-mile) to public transportation using altteul transport card data. As a result of user's accessibility of public transportation, rural areas was lower than that in the urban areas. This study calssified type 1 and 2 based average approach time, and average approach time of Type 1 and 2 were more than average approach time of total area. We propsed an efficient introduction of autonomous public transportation on-demand service using delphi survey. As a result of delphi survey, experts agreed on 9 items regarding function, service item, route operation, approach distance, route mileage, punctuality.

Driving Vehicle Detection and Distance Estimation using Vehicle Shadow (차량 그림자를 이용한 주행 차량 검출 및 차간 거리 측정)

  • Recently, the warning system to aid drivers for safe driving is being developed. The system estimates the distance between the driver's car and the car before it and informs him of safety distance. In this paper, we designed and implemented the collision warning system which detects the car in front on the actual road situation and measures the distance between the cars in order to detect the risk situation for collision and inform the driver of the risk of collision. First of all, using the forward-looking camera, it extracts the interest area corresponding to the road and the cars from the image photographed from the road. From the interest area, it extracts the object of the car in front through the analysis on the critical value of the shadow of the car in front and then alerts the driver about the risk of collision by calculating the distance from the car in front. Based on the results of detecting driving cars and measuring the distance between cars, the collision warning system was designed and realized. According to the result of applying it in the actual road situation and testing it, it showed very high accuracy; thus, it has been verified that it can cope with safe driving.
