Identifying Key Factors to Affect Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance(I/M) Test Results Using a Binary Logit Model (California Case Study) (이항로짓모형을 이용한 자동차 배출가스 검사결과에 미치는 요인분석(미국 캘리포니아 사례를 중심으로))

  • For the past decades, vehicle emissions has been a major source of air pollution in urban areas Vehicle inspection and maintenance (I/M) test programs were developed for major metropolitan areas to reduce urban air pollution. However. there are a few studies of exploring major factors to influence I/M test failure. This study develops a logit model to identify key factors affecting overall test failure, using the vehicle I/M test data from California in October 2002. The model results indicate that vehicle age, odometer reading, engine size, vehicle make, presences of emissions control equipment, and test types have significant effects on the probability of I/M test failure.

  • 디지털 운행기록장치는 대한민국의 경우 2011년부터 상용차에 대해 법령으로 장착이 의무화되었다. 이 장치는 자동차의 속도, 주행거리, 브레이크 상태, GPS 위지청보 등을 수집하는 기록 장치로서 이를 통해 수집된 정보로 운전 형태를 파악하고 분석해준다. 그러나 초기 장치 구입비용과 전송 방식에 따른 월별 통신서비스 비용 때문에 일반 운전자의 사용이 제한된다. 따라서 본 연구는 일반 운전자도 위험운전행동을 분석하고 파악하여, 결과를 제공하는 스마트폰 어플리케이션의 설계 및 구현을 목적으로 한다. ECU(Electronic Control Unit)에서 얻을 수 있는 주행 데이터(가속 제동, 속도, 운전 시간 등)를 OBD-II(On-Board Diagnostic version II) Scanner를 통해 수집한다. 이 정보를 바탕으로 위험운전평가 알고리즘을 이용하여 실시간 분석한다. 상기 알고리즘은 대한민국의 교통안전공단에서 제공하는 위험운전(11종)에 대한 정의를 바탕으로 한다. 이를 통해 분석된 결과는 실시간으로 사용자에게 제공되며, SQLite를 이용하여 DB에 저장되고 통신사의 이동통신(3G,4G) 혹은 Wifi의 네트워크를 이용하여 연계 서버에 전송된다. 이 위험 운전 분석 어플리케이션을 통해 운전자들의 안전 운전을 유도하고자하며, 추후 운전습관 연계 보험의 도입에 따라 합리적이고 공정한 데이터를 제공하고자 한다.

An Analysis of Efficiency in Container Shipment Cargo Volumes after Integrated Operation of Depots : Focusing on C Company (Depot 통합에 따른 출고 컨테이너 효율성 분석 : C사 모델을 중심으로)

  • As the growth of warehouse stores has been accelerated, the importance of logistics for warehouse stores has been also increasing. In this respect, this study analyzed the transportation efficiency after the integrated operation of depots by C Company using GIS. According to the results of analysis of changes in container shipment cargo volumes, in terms of delivery distances, a total of 1,028,699 km of delivery car driving was shown to be necessary when one depot was operated, while a total of 2,866,604km of car driving was shown to be necessary so that 1,028,699km of car driving was reduced per year. In terms of delivery time too, 62 hours of time was saved per day and a total of 36% reduction in time could be expected. This study presented the effects of depot integration and delivery changes to improve operation processes and reduce delivery time and distances using GIS OD Matrix. The results of this study can be used as an important indicator for judgment that can affect the delivery process of other warehouse discount stores.

  • 최근 인구의 과밀화와 이에 따른 지가의 상승 등으로 대표적인 주거용 빌딩인 아파트의 고층화가 급속하게 진행되고 있고 아파트에 설치되는 엘리베이터도 점차 대형화, 고속화 되고 있다. 실례로 15층 아파트의 경우 11인승, 60m/min의 엘리베이터가 일반적으로 사용되는 반면, 20층 아파트의 경우 17인승, 90m/min이 주로 사용된다. 이와 같이 엘리베이터의 용량과 운행 속도가 증가함에 따라 필연적으로 소음 및 진동 문제가 발생하게 된다. 특히 아파트의 경우 침실, 공부방 등 고도의 정숙을 요하는 생활 공간이 많고, 내부 공간의 활용도를 높이기 위하여 이들 방들이 엘리베이터 기계실 또는 운행 통로와 직접 접하여 있는 경우도 있어 이 경우 소음, 진동 문제는 아주 심각한 문제로 대두된다. 본 연구소가 측정한 방에 의하면 S신도시 L아파트의 경우 아파트 최상층 방에서 실내 소음도가 46dB(A), 벽의 진동가속도가 3.4mm/s$^{2}$(RMS)으로 나타났다. 진동의 경우 생활에 직접적인 악영향을 미칠 수준은 아니지만 소음의 경우 ASHRAE 권장 주택소음 기준치가 35dB(A) 이하임ㅇㄹ 감안하면 주거에 곤란한 수준이다. 수년전, 고층 아파트가 보급될 초기에는 아파트에 엘리베이터가 설치되어있다는 그 자체만으로 충분한 장점이 되어 다소음 소음, 진동문제는 큰 불만거리가 되지 않았지만 엘리베이터가 보편화된 지금에는 엘리베이터의 편리성만으로는 점점더 크게 요구되는 정숙성이 보상되지 않는다. 따라서 전반적인 아파트의 소음, 진동 문제에 큰 비중을 차지하는 엘리베이터에 의한 소음, 진동에 관하여 체계적인 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본고에서는 엘리베이터에 의한 아파트의 소음 및 진동에 관하여 그 현황, 원인 그리고 대책에 관한여 논하고자 한다.감 방법을 연구하였고, T.Sakai는 5자유도 모델을 이용하여 엔진 공회전시 발생하는 치타음에 대해 이론과 실험을 통해 해석하고, 엔진 회전수 변동, 클러치 특성, 변속기의 드래그(drag) 토크의 영향과 치타음 저감을 위한 개선된 클러치 특성을 제시하였다. 이 외에도 Thomas C.T.와 E.P.Petkus는 특정 차량에 대한 동력전달계의 비틀림 진동 현상에 대해 연구하였다. 이러한 연구들로 볼 때, 자동차 동력전달계에서 발생하는 진동은 이론과 실험을 통해 그 해석이 가능하며 설계에 매우 유용하게 이용되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구는 4 실린더 4 싸이클 1.5 L 엔진을 장착한 경승용차의 실차 주행실험을 통해 가속 페달의 급조작에 따른 차체의 종진동 현상을 측정하고, 엔진-변속기-타이어-차체의 반환정계 4자유도 진동모델로 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 실차 주행실험의 결과치와 비교, 분석한 후 클러치 비틀림 특성을 비롯한 자동차 동력전달계의 각 설계인자들이 차체의 종진동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 해석하고자 한다.be presented.LIFO, 우선 순위 방식등을 선택할 수 있도록 확장하였다. 에너지 소비효율 개선과 리바운드 효과: 수송부문을 중심으로

  • Korean government recently announced that new passenger cars sold within South Korea in 2009 ran an average of 12.27 kilometers per liter of fuel, which is an 7% point increase of the fuel efficiency. The government interpreted these improvements in the fuel economy as energy savings of 60,000 toe and as a reduction of 160,000 ton $CO_2$ emissions. However, improvements in energy efficiency make energy services cheaper, which is known as rebound effect. If this rebound effect exists, and the size of the effect is not negligible, ignoring this could result in overestimating the energy savings achieved by the fuel efficiency increase. Using detailed data on household and vehicle characteristics, our results suggest that there exist a short-run rebound effect of 0.299(29.9%) for the Korean automobile industry. This is notably smaller than the estimates of West (2004), which finds an estimate of 87% using cross-section data for the US. Furthermore our results highlight the importance of rebound effect on energy savings and the $CO_2$ emissions reduction. Our estimates suggest that the report from Korean government overestimates the energy savings and related $CO_2$ emissions by 29.9% point.

  • With the advancement of modern IT technologies, the operation of autonomous vehicles is becoming a reality, and route planning is essential for this. Generally, route planning involves proposing the shortest path to minimize travel distance and the quickest path to minimize travel time. However, the quality of these routes depends on the topological characteristics of the road network graph. If the connectivity structure of the road network is not rational, there are limits to the performance improvement that routing algorithms can achieve. Real drivers consider psychological factors such as the number of turns, surrounding environment, traffic congestion, and road quality when choosing routes, and they particularly prefer routes with fewer turns. This paper introduces a simple path algorithm that seeks routes with the fewest turns, in addition to the traditional shortest distance and quickest time routes, to evaluate the characteristics of road networks. Using this simple path algorithm, we compare and evaluate the connectivity characteristics of road networks in 20 major cities worldwide. By analyzing these road network characteristics, we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of urban road networks and develop more efficient and safer route planning algorithms. This paper comprehensively examines the quality of road networks and the efficiency of route planning by analyzing and comparing the road network characteristics of each city using the proposed simple path algorithm.

A Study on the Ride Quality Enhancement of the High-speed Electric Multiple Unit (동력분산형 고속열차의 승차감 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to improve the ride quality of high-speed electric multiple unit. Through dynamic analysis of the HEMU-430X, the range of the equivalent conicity with a critical speed of 300 km/h was between 0.05 and 0.25. The initial adopted wheel profile of HEMU-430X was S1002. The equivalent conicity of S1002 with the mileage of more than 40,000 km was about 0.033 and it was confirmed that XP55 is more suitable for stable operation because XP55 has the equivalent conicity of over 0.061. In order to improve ride quality of high-speed electric multiple unit, the change of installation angle of the yaw damper was suggested from $7.35^{\circ}$ to $0^{\circ}$. From sensitivity analysis and optimization, the air spring lateral and vertical stiffness was suggested to be reduced by 30% and the secondary vertical and lateral damper damping coefficient was increased by 50%. By applying this, it was expected that the car body acceleration could be improved by about 20% on average. The HEMU-430X's yaw damper installation angle was changed to $0^{\circ}$ and the damping coefficient of the lateral damper was increased by 30%. When the test run was carried out at the speed of 300 km/h on the Kyungbu high-speed line, the vehicle lateral acceleration had improved by 34.3%. The effect of additional improvement measures proposed in this paper will be tested in the on track test. The riding quality improvement process used in this study can be used to solve ride quality problems that can occur in commercial operation of high-speed electric multiple unit in the future.

Call-a-bus Satisfaction Based On Preference Between Rural Bus And Call-a-bus (농어촌버스와 콜버스 선호에 따른 콜버스 만족도 분석)

  • The study examines preference between rural bus and call-a-bus before call-a-bus operation and empirically analyzes the effecting factors on the call-a-bus satisfaction after operation. As the result of log-linear model, older persons prefer call-a-bus because of door-to-door service convenience and female also because of limitation of trip moving means. It is shown that persons with lower number of trips prefer call-a-bus. As the result of ordinal regression model for call-a-bus satisfaction, age, the number of family members and bus stop distance have the positive tendency but the going out frequency and the return time negative among rural bus preference persons. Male and the going out frequence show the negative tendency but trip moving means, bus stop distance, rural bus satisfaction, depart and return time positive among call-a-bus preference persons. The persons who have the positive preference on call-a-bus shows higher satisfaction on call-a-bus.

An Analysis of the Ripple Effect of Congestion in a Specific Section Using the Robustness Sensitivity of the Traffic Network

  • In this paper, we propose a robustness sensitivity index (RSI) of highway networks to analyze the effect of congestion in a specific section on the entire highway. The newly proposed RSI is defined as the change in the total mileage of the transportation network per extended unit length when the length of a particular section is extended. When the RSI value is large, traffic congestion in the section has a worse effect on the entire network than in other sections. The existing network robustness index (NRI) simply observes changes in transportation networks with and without specific sections, but the RSI proposed in this study is a kind of performance indicator that allows quantitative analysis of the ripple effect of the entire network according to the degree of congestion in a specific section. While changing the degree of congestion in a particular section, it is possible to calculate how the traffic volume increases, decreases, and the size and location of the congestion section change. This analysis proves the superiority of RSI as it cannot be analyzed with NRI. Various properties of RSI are analyzed using data from the domestic highway network. In addition, using the RSI concept, it is shown that the ripple effect on other sections in which a change in the degree of congestion of a specific section occurs can be analyzed.

Estimation of Bus Saturation Flow Rates at Signalized Intersections Including Exclusive Median Bus Lanes (중앙버스전용차로가 설치된 신호교차로에서의 버스 포화교통류율 산정에 관한 연구)

  • Exclusive median bus lanes were installed to mitigate congestions on urban traffic networks. However, capacity analysis of signalized intersections having exclusive median bus lanes have not been provided in current capacity analysis process(analyses). This study aims to develop a method of capacity analysis for lane groups consisting of only buses at the signalized intersections having exclusive median bus lanes. Finding basic saturation flow rates for buses is critical since the operational characteristics between automobiles and buses are fairly different. A total of 8 intersections in Seoul were chosen as study sites. Saturation headways, distances between bus-stop and stopline, and grades of each approach were measured at the sites. It was found that the basic saturation headway and the basic saturation flow rate of buses were 3.27 s/veh and 1,100pc/h/ln, respectively. Adjustment factor for upstream bus-stop locations was estimated with 0.50 and 0.75 when the distances between bus-stop and stopline are 20m and 70m, respectively. This study explains that bus saturation flow rates are decreased in half if the bus stop locates within 20 meters from stop lines.
