Features and Cost Reduction Effect of High Pressure LNG Pipeline Network (고압 LNG 배관망의 특성 및 비용절감 효과)

  • Recently due to march as the high oil price, It is necessary for Korea to grope a plan, which is to increase the energy efficiency of existing facilities as well as to develop overseas gas and oil resources. With this point, this work carried out to approach the high pressure LNG pipeline network of Inchon receiving terminal with Newton method as corrective flowrate. We found that the high pressure network mainly depends on FCVs(Flow Control Valves). The high pressure pump showed the maximum efficiency at the FCVs of 50% opening and could discharge LNG only above the LNG head of 1,500m from a system curve obtained. The operating cost of pumps was estimated from their operating points. We compared the operating cost under normal operation with the operating cost under maximum efficiency. Especially, we obtained the day savings of a year as wells as the hour savings of a day. From the results, the high pressure network win be able to reduce the operating cost of 138 million wons in a year. This means that a pump can reduce the operating cost of 9,823 thousands won. Consequently, this work could find the operating features of the pumps under the complicated high pressure LNG network and the savings effect of the pump operating cost. Also, the results will be able to macroscopically contribute the heightening of national energy competitiveness as well as to microscopically contribute the future effective operation of LNG receiving terminal.

Study and Survey of Operating Efficiency with Cool Storage System (빙축열냉방시스템의 운전효율에 관한 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to maintain high efficiency and reasonable use of cool thermal storage systems operated in the domestic building sector. As the result of efficiency test from the five types of operated cool storage systems on the condition that COP ranges are 2.6 to 3.4 during the day time and 2.1 to 3.0 during the night time and it decreased by more than 30% of rated COP given 3.8 to 3.0. The Analysis of cool storage rate shows that only 3 (21.4%) systems out of 15 buildings hold to over 40% capacity for its total capacity. To prevent the decrease in operating efficiency, it should correct the malfunction of 3-way valve and expansion valve and the mistake of control values for schedule program and increase cooling tower capacity. In order to improve piping line, it needs bypass brine line off refrigerator, separation of chilled water line with Ice Slurry system at day and night time and speed control of chilled and warm water pumps. This study does require the more studies on improving difficulty of increasing cooling load with Ice on Coil system, waterproofing with Ice Ball system, COP drop during the night time with Ice Lens, low operating temperature during the day time with Ice Slurry and increasing of Power loss due to hot gas de-icing with Ice Harvest in the future.

Economics Assessments of Spent Fuel Management Options in Korea (사용후핵연료관리에 관한 경제성 분석)

  • 현재 우리나라에는 3기의 원전이 운전중에 있으며 6기가 건설중에 있다. 즉, 2기의 가압경수로(PWR)의 1기의 가압중수로(HWR)가 운전중에 있으며 건설중인 것은 모두 PWR이다. 현재 추진되고 있는 원전계획을 수행하면, 1990년에는 사용후핵연료가 년간 약200톤씩 방출될 것이며, 2000년에는 500톤 정도가 방출되게 된다. 이와 같은 핵사용후연료는 현재 소내저장하고 있으나 '90년대 중반 부터는 소내저장용량이 한계에 달하게 될 것으로 전망되고 있다. 따라서 본교에서의 이와 같은 소내저장 한계성에 대처할 수 있는 가능한 방안을 검토하고, 이를 경제성 측면에서 분석하고자 하였다. 사용후핵연료의 관리방안에 대한 경제성 분석을 위해서는 장래의 원전계획, 원자로형 및 핵연료주기방식 등에 대한 여러 가지 가정이 필요하게 된다. 원전계획은 정부에서 발표한 $\ulcorner$5차5개년 수정계획$\lrcorner$에 의거하여 원전시설용량은 현재의 2GWe에서 2000년에는 22GWe로, 2025년에는 44GWe로 늘어나는 것으로 보았다. 이와 같은 원전계획을 바탕으로 6가지 핵연료주기에 관한 시나리오를 설정하였다. 즉, 사용후핵연료를 비순환방식으로 운영하는 2가지 경우, 순환방식으로 운영되는 3가지 경우 그리고 FBR에 활용하는 1가지의 경우에 대하여 검토하였다. 사용후핵연료의 관리방식에 따른 장기적인 안목에서의 경제성 분석은 핵연료주기비용 뿐만아니라 원전의 투자비도 함께 분석하는 것이 합리적이며, 따라서 본교에서는 계획기간 동안의 6가지 시나리로에 따른 원전 및 핵연료주기에 관한 총 투자비를 비교하였고, 1982년 가격으로 현가화한 단가도 비교${\cdot}$검토 하였다. 이와 같은 6가지 시나리오에 대한 경제성을 비교해 본 결과, 핵연료주기선택의 경제성평가에 큰 영향을 주는 핵연료주기요소는 재처리비, 재처리시 방출되는 폐기물의 처리${\cdot}$처분비 그리고 사용후핵연료 저장방식으로 판명되었으며 6가지 시나리오에 대한 경제성 비교평가 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 단기적인 안목에서는 소내저장용량을 확장하는 방안이 가장 바람직하며, 중기적인 관점에서는 소외집중저장설비가 활발히 수행되는 시점에서는 사용후핵연료를 재처리하여 재활용하는 방안도 강구되어야 할 것이다.

Detection of Direction Indicators on Road Surfaces Using Inverse Perspective Mapping and NN (원근투영법과 신경망을 이용한 도로노면 방향지시기호 검출 연구)

  • This paper proposes a method for detecting the direction indicator shown in the road surface efficiently from the black box system installed on the vehicle. In the proposed method, the direction indicators are detected by inverse perspective mapping(IPM) and bag of visual features(BOF)-based NN classifier. In order to apply the proposed method to real-time environments, the candidated regions of direction indicator in an image only performs IPM, and BOF-based NN is used for the classification of feature information from direction indicators. The results of applying the proposed method to the road surface direction indicators detection and recognition, the detection accuracy was presented at least about 89%, and the method presents a relatively high detection rate in the various road conditions. Thus it can be seen that the proposed method is applied to safe driving support systems available.

Mixed Operation with Express Train for Urban Railways in Seoul Metropolitan Area (대피선 설치를 통한 수도권 광역철도 급행화 방안)

  • The urban railways connecting between the inner city and suburb of Seoul metropolitan area, has lost the competitiveness against cars because too many stops deteriorated operating speed and passenger's level of service. This paper suggests that an express train should be introduced into the urban railway system in order to sort out such a complication. There are two considerations in the present study. Firstly, train schedule problem should be taken into account. In this regard, a new model for urban railway system was developed by revising the existing models dealing with single line freight railway. Approximate branch and bound algorithm based on conflict group rather than a single conflict was adopted. Consequently, it was found that the time saving in calculating the optimal schedule is the most meaningful contribution of the algorithm. The second consideration is associated with the application of the model. A case study was carried out using the actual operation data from Ansan line. In conclusion, the operation speed of the line can increase considerably with minimal number of new sidings.

  • We developed the safety training methods which improve the current methods by overcoming the single scenario-based one-way communication between trainee and training system. We improved the design and implementation of the safety training scenarios, which is one of the most important components of the plant safety training system for safe operation of the city gas governor. The diversity and training effects of the training scenarios can be improved by interactive training between the plant safety training system and operators. The interactive training methods were developed based on Finite State Machine model which is applicable to and based on plant safety training platform. We could see the possibility of applying this method of safety training scenario system to other domain of plant safety training system.

  • 원자력 발전소 격납구조(containment) 내에 설치되는 센서, 구동기(actuator) 및 설비는 원전의 안전운전과 함께 방사능 누출사고와 같은 중대사고(severe accident)를 예방하기 위한 것이다. 격납구조 내부는 Category I 등급으로 분류되며, 격납구조 내부에 설치되는 센서, 구동기, 기기 및 통신망은 IEEE Std. 323-1974에서 정의하는 극한환경(harsh environment) 요건에서 생존할 수 있는 내환경성이 요구된다. 이러한 엄격한 내환경성 요건으로 인해 일반 산업의 IT 기반 센서통신망이 원전 격납건물 내부에는 적용되지 않고 있다. 최근에 이르러 독일을 중심으로 신규로 건설 중이거나 계획 중인 원전에서는 일반 산업의 IT 기반 센서 통신망 적용이 검토되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IT 기반의 첨단 센서 통신망 기술을 격납구조내부와 같은 극한 환경에 적용하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 정상운전중의 원전 격납 건물 내부의 환경(온도, 감마선, 습도) 특성과 중대 사고를 가정한 DBA (설계 기준사고) 요건에서의 환경 특성을 조사하였다. 또한 설계기준사고에서 정의한 감마선 조사 환경에서 통신 시스템의 생존성을 실험하였다. 이를 토대로 격납구조내부의 원전 극한 환경 통신망의 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on Improvement of Seoul Metro Line 9 Focusing on Marketing and Operating (영업 및 운전 중심의 서울 지하철 9호선 개선 방안 연구)

  • Seoul Metro Line 9 (SML9) will link Gimpo Airport to the Gangnam district opening in May 2009. SML9 has a new model in Korea constructed by metropolitan government and private company and operated by specialized public transportation service provider. SML9 is confronted with tough environment of stagnated public transportation and strong competitor, Olympic city expressway. Consequently SML9 must lead the maximum efficiency by using its material and human resource. Hereupon, I propose renovation plans from 3 viewpoints of operation field of SML9: Rapid-Local combination, close connection with other transportation and direct connecting service into Incheon Air-port Railroad(AREX).
