Study on the Small Scale CGS for APT. Complex (아파트 단지를 대상으로 한 소형 열병합 발전 시스템 검토)

  • The optimal capacity of CGS(Co-Generation Sys.) for APT. complex is 300kW output of electricity power from being considered the simple payback period, loss and benefit, and the running mode of CGS. The proper operation mode of CGS is as follows; If the demanding electricity load of APT. complex is within the range of capacity of generator(300kW), CGS is connected and operated with KEPCO grid. When the load ratio is over 50% of normal load of CGS(300kW), only CGS supply electricity demand. If not, the electricity line of CGS is exchanged to that of KEPCO.

  • 발전소의 제어 시스템은 제어 기간이 길어짐에 따라 제어 기기의 운전 특성이 변화하므로 최초 설계 및 운전때의 성능과는 다른 제어 특성을 나타낸다. 따라서 주기적으로 제어 성능을 평가하고 평가 결과에 따라서 제어 기기의 성능 개선 작업과 제어 시스템의 제어기 상수 최적화 등의 작업을 통하여 제어 성능을 최적으로 유지하여 제어 목적을 달성하도록 하여야한다. 제어성능 평가기법은 제어 목표 값에 대한 추종성을 평가하는 Set Print Analysis 방법을 주로 사용한다. 평가 지표는 Integral Absolute Error(IAE)와 같은 Error Integral 값과 Minimum Variance방법이 실용적으로 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 Non-Minimum Phase 특성으로 인하여 초기 운전 모드에서 정상 운전 모듈로의 원활한 전환이 어려운 수위 제어 시스템에서 제어 전환을 위한 최적 제어기 상수를 구하기 위하여 CPA 방법을 적용하였다. 일반적으로 제어성 평가는 설정치 변화에 대한 추종성을 평가하지만 본 논문에서는 제어 전환 시의 제어성 평가를 통하여 최적의 제어 전환 상수를 구하고자 하였다. 적용 결과, CPA기법은 설정시 추종성뿐만 아니라 제어 과도에서의 제어 전환 변수의 주종성에 적용하여 제어 전환을 최적화하는데도 유용함을 확인하였다.

  • 소수력 계획 시 개발지점에 대하여 수많은 자료와 정보 등을 필요로 하게 되는데 특히 해당지역내의 유량분포에 대한 유황자료는 개발의 판단여부를 결정케 하는 중요한 요소이다. 소수력발전소의 설비용량에 직접 관계되는 설계유량의 결정과 재해방지를 위한 유출의 예측을 가능케 하고 발전소운영 시 가동률 및 경제성에도 직접적인 영향을 미치는 중용한 요소이나 여기서 논하는 소수력개발은 하천이나 댐과 같은 유형이 아니라 일정한 유량을 확보하여 배출하기 때문에 문제는 없다. 그러나 계절별 부하에 따른 냉각수량의 변화 및 소수력 발전유량의 변동, 조위(해수면) 변화 등에 따라 달라진다. 그러므로 수위조절을 위한 수문은 이들의 변화에 따라 자동운전이 가능해야 하지만 운전시 발전정격수위를 맞출 수 있도록 수문을 조절한 다음 Turbine Governor에 의해 유량 및 수위를 제어할 수 있도록 설계하여 냉각수 순환수 계통에 영향이 미치지 않게 언제나 적정수위를 유지시킬 수 있는 운전모드로 구축하는 것이 안정이라 볼 수 있다. 소수력발전설비 및 수문의 오작동 및 고장이 발생할 때 수위가 상승하여 냉각계통에 손실수두 증가, 취수펌프의 양정고 증가와 Surge 발생 등으로 발전소의 정상 운전에 미치는 영향이 없어야 하므로 세밀한 검토가 필요하기 때문에 폐쇄시간과 수압상승 값 등 요인 분석후 설계하여야 한다. Figure A와 같이 국내 화력발전단지에서 냉각수로 사용되고 방류되는 해수는 발전소에 따라 ca.70~150 CMS로 ca.2,000~5000 kW 이상의 수력에너지(H=4m 형성 기준)를 보유하고 있으나, 현재 활용되지 못하고 그대로 해양으로 방류되고 있어 이 수력에너지의 개발 방안을 오래전부터 검토하여 왔다. 발전소 온배수의 원활한 배수를 위한 설계 낙차와 함께 남서해안의 조위변화에 따른 낙차를 이용하는 것으로 소수력 발전 방식과 조력발전 방식의 특징을 동시에 활용할 수 있다.

The Study of Plasma Torch for Solid Waste Treatment (고상 廢棄物處理를 위한 플라즈마 토치에 관한 硏究)

  • A solid-state high power torch with inter-electrode insert (IEI) was developed to treat solid waste (for example, incinerated ash), and it's operation characteristics were obtained in the plasma facility test for waste treatment. According to torch test from this study, at the non-transferred mode voltage is increased by gas volume proportionally, and at the transferred mode it is not affected to voltage change. Especially arc voltage is sustained stable at the range of 10% of total Fe in slag. In addition, Electrical conductivity is 0.05~0.25${\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$, torch efficiency is 75~85% and Erosion rate is 2${\times}10^{-6}~6{\times}10^{-6}$ kg/s.

Start-up and operation of Gasoline Fuel Processor for Isolated Fuel Cell System (독립형 연료전지 시스템을 위한 가솔린 연료프로세스의 시동 및 운전)

  • This study introduces the system layout and control strategy necessary to start and operate a fuel processor in a wide range of temperatures where a gasoline was selected as the fuel of fuel processor considering logistic support of Korea Army. The autothermal reformig(ATR) catalyst is heated to light-off temperature by combustion method in the initial stage. In order to ignite the gasoline and air mixture stably, the glow plug is installed after ATR catalyst. When the catalyst is increased to light-off temperature, the reformer is operated from initiation to steady state conditions as follows: Partial oxidation(POX) mode, partial ATR mode, full ATR mode. Finally the start-up and control strategy is validated by the operational test of gasoline fuel processor at low and room temperature. As a result the gasoline fuel processor is able to start-up within 40 min and to produce the reformate gas which has 37 ~ 42 vol.%(dry basis) of $H_2$ and 0.3 vol.% of CO.

  • The objective of this work presented here was experimental study of steadystate and cold start exhaust nano-sized particle characteristics from common rail diesel engine. The effect of the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) on the particle number reduction was insignificant, however, particle number concentration levels were reduced by 3 orders of magnitude into the downstream of diesel particulate filter (DPF). In high speed and load conditions, natural regeneration of trapped particle occurred inside DPF and it was referable to increase particle number concentration. As fuel injection timing was shifted BTDC $6^{\circ}CA$ to ATDC $4^{\circ}CA$, particle number concentration level was slightly reduced, however particle number and size was increased at ATDC $9^{\circ}CA$. Nucleation type particle reduced and accumulation type particle was increased on EGR condition.

Interpretation of Permeation Characteristics and Membrane Transport Models Through Polyamide Reverse Osmosis Membrane (Polyamide 역삼투막의 투과성능과 막 이동 모델의 해석)

  • In this study, we present a noble study far membrane transport models using chlorine resistance of polyamide RO membranes. Membrane transport mechanism is investigated by the comparison of membrane permeation performance under the continuous and Intermittent operation modes with mixed feed solution containing NaOCl and NaCl. Analysis of permeation performance indicates that solution-diffusion model and preferential adsorption-capillary flow model are relatively efficient according to operation mode. Under the continuous flow state, mass transfer depends on preferential adsorption-capillary flow model rather than solution-diffusion model. On the other hand, it prefers solution-diffusion model to preferential adsorption-capillary flow model under the stationary state. SEM images of NaOCl treated membrane surfaces strongly support these conclusions. These surface images reveal that NaOCl treated membrane in continuous operation mode exhibits ridge and valley structure in some fraction of the surface area, whereas that in intermittent operation mode shows surface degradation entirely.

  • In this paper, engine clutch engagement shock is analyzed during the mode change of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Multi-driving mode includes the EV (electric vehicle) mode, HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) mode, and engine operating mode. Depending on the mode change, the engine clutch is either engaged or disengaged. The magnitude of shock during clutch engagement is very important because it impacts vehicle acceleration and clutch synchronization speed, which affects ride comfort substantially. The performance simulator of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles was developed using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the mode change control algorithm is necessary for minimizing shock during clutch engagement.

A GA-Based Algorithm for Generating a Train Speed Profile Optimizing Energy Efficiency (에너지 최적의 열차 속도 궤적 생성을 위한 GA 기반 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes an optimal algorithm for generating a train speed profile giving optimal energy efficiency based on GA (Genetic Algorithm) and shows its effectiveness with simulations. After simplifying the train operation mode to a maximum traction, a coasting and a maximum breaking, adjusting the coasting point to minimize the train consuming energy is the basic scheme. Satisfying the two constraints, running distance and running time between two stations, a coasting point is determined by GA with a fitness function consisting of a target running time. Simulation results have shown that multiple coasting points could exist satisfying both of the two constraints. After figuring out consumed energies according to the multiple coasting points, an optimal train speed profile with a coasting point giving the smallest consumed energy has been selected. Simulation blocks for the train performance simulation and GA have been designed with the Simulink.

  • This paper addresses unit commitment for microgrid optimization including renewable energy sources, working under deregulated power market. As microgrid supplies both heat and electricity for consumer, operational optimization must be done to meet their demand economically. So renewable energy sources are considered to be negative load, and batteries are used as the load flattening device to raise possibly operational function. In the state of solution, the program is developed to solve out the maximum profit of microgrid using dynamic programming method. Finally, its validity is verified through case study in isolation mode and interconnected mode. The S/W will be used to operate microgrid economically after the market of microgrid is formed.
