Influence of Four Types of Steering Assistive Devices on Driving Performance: Comparison of Normal and Disabled People with and without Driver's License (4가지 선회보조 장치가 운전 성능에 미치는 영향: 장애 유무와 운전면허 유무에 따른 비교)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate driving performance of Healthy and disabled groups (with or without driver's license) to control steering wheel by using steering assistive devices in the driving simulator. The persons with partial loss of use of all four limbs have problems in operation of the motor vehicle because of functional loss to operate steering wheel. Therefore, if steering assistive devices for grasping the steering wheel are used to control the vehicle on the road in persons with disabilities, the disabled persons can improve mobility in their community life by driving a motor vehicle safely. Ten healthy subjects (with or w/o driver's license) and ten subjects with physical disabilities (with or w/o driver's license) were involved in this study to evaluate driving performance to operate steering wheel by using four types of steering assistive devices (Single-pin, V-grip, Palm-grip, Tri-pin) in driving simulator. STISim Drive 3 software was used to test the steering performance in four scenarios: straight road at low and high speed of vehicle (40 km/h and 80 km/h), curved road at low and high speed of vehicle (40 km/h and 80 km/h). This study used two-way ANOVA in order to compare the effects of two factors (type of steering assistive device and subject group) in the three dependent variables of driving performance (the lateral position of vehicle, standard deviation of lateral position representing the variation of the left and right movement of the vehicle and the number of line crossing). The mean values of the three dependent variables (lateral position, standard deviation of lateral position, the number of line crossing) of steering performance were statistically significantly smaller for the healthy or disabled groups with driver's license than the other groups without driver's license on the curved road at high speed of vehicle compared to low speed of vehicle.

Analysis of Prework Trip-Making and Modal Choice (통근통행 이전의 비통근통행 발생여부와 교통수단 선택행태 분석)

  • 본 연구에서는 지금가지 통근통행자의 활동참여 분석(activity Participation analysis)이 주로 일과후 활동참여(postwork activity participation)에 초점이 주어졌다는 점을 감안하여 일과전 활동참여(preworkactivity Participation)를 분석하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구배경하에서 본 연구는 통근통행자의 통근통행 이전의 비 통근통행 발생여부와 교통수단 선택의 행태를 네스티드 로짓모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구는 모형의 경험적 추정을 위해 1995년 미국 Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey (NPTS)의 일부분으로 수집된 뉴욕 대도시지역의 설문조사자료를 이용하였으며, 추정된 경험적 모형을 바탕으로 의미 있는 결과를 논의하였다. 본 연구에서 추정된 통근통행 이전의 비 통근통행 발생여부와 교통수단 선택의 네스티드 로짓모형은 통계적 측면이나 행태적 측면에서 볼 때 대체로 타당한 분석결과를 보여준다. 교통수단 선택모형(조건부 모형)의 추정결과를 보면 나이, 운전면허 소지여부, 가구내 차량보유대수, 가구내 직장인수, 연간 가구소득, 교통수단의 통행시간이 통근통행자의 교통수단 선택에 의미 있는 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 한편 통근통행 이전의 비통근통행 발생여부 선택모형(한계모형)의 추정결과를 보면 나이 성별, 가구내 차량보유대수, 가구의 생애주기가 통근통행자의 비 통근통행 발생여부에 의미 있는 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구로부터의 중요한 발견은 추정된 네스티드 로짓모형의 inclusive value의 추정계수값을 살펴봄으로써 가능한데, 모형의 경험적 추정결과는 본 연구에서 가설화된 네스티드 로짓모형구조의 타당성을 입증시켜 준다. 아울러 직장인의 교통수단 선택은 통근통행 이전의 비 통근통행 발생여부의 선택과 밀접한 관련을 가지면서 이루어진다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.

Location of Large Scale Discount Store and Differences of Accessibility to Daily Shopping Places (대형할인점의 입지와 일상적 쇼핑장소로의 접근성 차이)

  • 본 연구를 통하여 대형할인점 이용자, 재래시장 이용자, 그리고 수퍼마켓 이용자들의 각 쇼핑장소를 중심으로 한 거주지역 공간적 분포 및 쇼핑패턴의 차이를 비교한 결과. 이 세종류의 쇼핑장소 이용자들간의 각 쇼핑장소들 중심으로 한 거주지역 분포의 공간적 패턴 및 쇼핑통행 패턴은 상당한 차이를 나타내고 있다. 또한 대형할인점을 이용자를 제외한 재래시장 이용자와 슈퍼마켓 이용자들을 대상으로 그들이 이용하기를 원하는 대형할인점의 이용을 제한하는 주요 요인을 분석한 결과 통행거리, 운전면허 미소지, 자가용 승용차 미보유 등 대형할인점으로의 접근을 위한 과정에서 발생하는 제약 요인들이 가장 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타난다. 이러한 점들을 볼 때, 재래시장 및 수퍼마켓이 주민들의 일상적인 쇼핑장소의 역할을 할 때와는 달리 대형할인점의 등장은 이곳으로의 주민들의 접근능력의 차이에 따라 주민들간 일상적 소비장소의 차별화가 진행될 수 있음을 시사한다. 특히 최근 대형할인점의 입지가 가속화되고 이에 따라 재래시장 및 수퍼마켓의 기능이 쇠퇴하고 있음을 고려할 때, 신체적 그리고 사회경제적 특성의 차이에 따라 대형할인점으로의 접근에 제한을 받는 주민들의 일상적 소비공간은 더욱 위축되고 고립될 가능성이 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 좁고 곡률이 큰 도로에서의 자율 주행을 위한 AVM 시스템 기반의 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 전방을 주시하는 모노/스테레오 카메라를 이용한 차선 인식 방법을 이용한 자율주행 알고리즘은 모노/스테레오 카메라의 제한된 FOV (Field of View)로 인해 좁고 곡률이 큰 도로에서의 자율 주행에 한계가 있다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 AVM 시스템을 기반으로 하여 이 한계를 극복하고자 한다. AVM 시스템에서 얻은 영상을 차선의 색상 정보를 이용해 차선의 영역을 이진화 한다. 이진화 영상으로부터, 차량의 뒷바퀴 주변의 관심영역을 시작으로 재귀적 탐색법을 이용하여 좌, 우 차선을 검출한다. 검출된 좌, 우 차선의 중앙선을 차량의 경로로 삼고 조향각을 산출해 낸다. 제한하는 알고리즘을 실제 차량에 적용시킨 실험을 수행하였고, 운전면허 시험장의 코스를 차선의 이탈없이 주행 가능함을 실험적으로 확인하였다.

  • As the demand for yachts has increased recently, the number of people holding yachts and obtaining driver's licenses is also increasing. Therefore, inconveniences such as registration of entry and departure of ports and boarding lists and maintenance of yachts are occurring. Therefore, in this paper, GPS, Lidar, communication equipment, etc. are easily installed through the implementation of modular equipment inside the yacht, and by accessing modular equipment using a smartphone, route setting and various convenience functions can be used.

  • This article aims at the study on Improvement of legal System which is related to automated vehicles in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. Legal aspects of driving automation have two view points. One is to permit a automated vehicle, the other is to regulate the behavior of driver on the road. Signifying elements of the 4th industrial revolution are IoT, AI, big data, cloud computing etc. Automated vehicles are the imbodiment of those new ICT technologies. The vehicle management act(VMA) rules about vehicle registration and approval of vehicle types. VMA defines a automated vehicle as a vehicle which can be self driven without handling of driver or passenger. Vehicle makers can take temporary driving permission for testing and research the driving automation. Current definition of automated vehicle of VMA is not enough for including all levels of SAE driving automation. In the VMA must be made also a new vehicle safty standard for automated vehicle. In the national assembly is curruntly pending three draft bills about legislation of artificial intelligence. Driving automation and AI technologies must be parallel developed. It is highly expected that more proceeding research of driving automation can be realized as soon as possible.

Research on the Actual Condition of the radiation Safety Management(RSM) for the Educated Training of the Dental Diagnostics X-ray Generators (교육용 치과 엑스선 발생장치에 대한 방사선 안전 관리 실태 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to offer data base for establishment of dental training x-ray generator based safety usage through surveying real radiation safety management state of radiation worker's in plan of operations that have dental training x-ray generators and use it. For it, comprehensive references were surveyed referring reports of current state of regulation technique development and domestic radiation safety evaluation and nuclear related legislation regarding radiation safety management of dental training x-ray generators. On the basis of it, questionnaires were filled in about respondent's general characteristic radiation safety manager's status current state of radiation safety management and the level of knowledge & consciousness. For the study, the survey was conducted to 224 people of radiation safety managers and university graduates training assistants and full-time professors who can treat dental training x-ray generators in education center. through this survey 95 questionnaires were used as analysis materials except the insufficient and omitted responses. As a method of analysis, the frequency and percentage were figured out with the general characteristics and safety manager's status. Chi-square test for frequency and correlation per question analysis and Pearson correlation analysis for crosslevel correlation were done with current state of radiation safety management and knowledge & consciousness level. As a result, running dental training x-ray generators was dealt with by 20's to 40's who have high education level over post undergraduate degree and major in dental hygienic. In addition, female have higher consciousness level for radiation safety management than male. Identification of Key Factors of Travel Time Budget by Mode in Seoul: Using Seemingly Unrelated Regression Model (서울 거주자의 수단별 이용시간 영향요인 규명: SUR모형을 활용하여)

  • This study identified the factors that affect travel time budget by mode for traveler in Seoul using the SUR model. Individual, household and TAZ characteristics were selected as the explanatory variables. Transportation modes are summarized from 18 types to 6 types(walking, personal car, bus, subway, rail and bicycle). The results showed a distinct difference between personal transportation and public transportation. First of all, People who owned a car and driver's licence tend to prefer personal transportation. In addition, we can confirm the relationship between the bus and the subway which are most typical public transportation. Passengers who can available a personal mode preferred the subway than the bus. It is expected to suggest various implications related to the public transportation policy for Seoul metropolitan area.

  • This study identified the factors which affect pedestrian behavior using the tobit model with a descriptive analysis. Individual characteristics, household characteristics, zone characteristics were selected as the independent variables. Walking frequency and walking time was adopted for the variables which represent walking behavior. The results showed that the walking time models were superior than the walking frequency models. The model for education purpose had the most lowest fitness and the model for others purpose had characteristics mixed up the various purposes. Futhermore, this research found that independent variables: individual, household and zone characteristic variables affected walking activities of elderly pedestrian by purpose. The walking activity decresed when a pedestrian grew older or had a vehicle or a driver's license. The Elderly facilities promoted the walking activity of seniors. As the floor area of neighborhood and business facilities was wide, the walking activities were animated. In addition, the compacted downtown developments decreased the elderly's walking activities, so it is needed to consider those results in terms of the urban planners.

A Study on the Factors Concerning Non-Work Trip of the Elderly People : A case of Seoul Metropolitan Area (고령자의 비업무통행에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석: 수도권 사례를 중심으로)

  • This research explores different non-work trip characteristics between the elderly group (65+) and the working age group (20-64) using heteroscadastic ordered logit model. The analysis is based on travel survey data of Seoul Metropolitan area in 2006. The results show that age induces heteroscadasticity and the model provides a better fit than ordered logit model. The factors increasing the number of non-work trip of the elderly were driver's license and household income. Conversely, the number of non-work trips decreased in those groups that were male, with a job, in aging, and with the number of preschool children. The factors having opposite effects (increased the number of non-work trips in the working age groups and decreased in the elderly group) between the elderly group and working age group were age and job.
