본 연구는 교통사고 야기 자들의 운전정밀적성검사기록과 해당 교통사고기록을 비교하여 특정 운전적성상의 결손이 교통사고와 특정유형의 교통사고에 미치는 영향을 계량적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 우리나라에서 가장 빈발하는 인적요인에 의한 교통사고 유형 중에서 교통상충이 빈발하는 지점에서 발생하는 차-대-차 사고를 조사분석대상으로 삼았다. 이와 같이 분석대상사고를 선정한 이유는 교통상충이 교통사고로 발전하는 과정에서 사고 제1당사자의 운전적성의 역할을 파악하고자하는 목적에서이다. 따라서 본 연구의 대상이 되는 교통사고 유형을 1. 교차로 진입부에서의 추돌사고, 2. 교차로내 충추돌사고, 3. 단일로상의 추돌사고로 선정하였다. 판별력이 의문시되는 4개 항목을 제외한 조사분석결과에서 하나의 항목을 제외하고 사고 야기자와 일반인의 운전적성상에 통계적으로 분명한 차이가 있으며 각 항목의 결손자 집단에서의 사고자 비율이 일반운전자 집단에 비해 교통사고를 경험한 확률이 2배 내지 4배 가량 높았다. 또한 특정 유형 사고 야기자와 사고 야기자 전체, 일반운전자 집단간 비교에서도 항목별 결손율이 분명한 다른 형태를 갖고 있다는 사실을 확인했으며, 특정유형의 결손(조합)자 집합에서 특정 교통사고 유형을 야기시켰을 확률이 일반인 집단에 비해 많게는 13배 적게는 3, 4배 정도 높다고 추정되었다.

Purpose: Due to the change of demography, the ratio of senior drivers has increased and the transition to a super-aged society is expected to make more seniors drive in the future. Method: In this research, we analyzed medical characteristics of the driver's age-specific decline in body function and saw that both the function of the physical as well as mental capacities deteriorates as people age. Among them, various functions are precipitously weakened after reaching 70, implying that those over the age of 70 are classified as seniors in a medical sense. In this context, we also could identify that based on such age criteria, various safety policies for senior drivers should be developed and set up in Korea. Result: We could find a steep fall in the physical function of body after reaching 70 from the chronological change of cognitive function and judgment ability. In particular, it is revealed that the driving license institution and aptitude test for drivers over 70 should be thoroughly examined, as physical functions necessary for driving such as eyesight and hearing ability is not strong enough in many drivers over 70. Conclusion: Focusing on the physical capacity to drive, we tried to find the hazardous age bracket of senior drivers which might influence driving behaviors. Going forward, we expect this work would help to understand the policies for senior drivers and drivers' physical differences.

In this study, we analyzed the result of new inspection, accidents, penalties, and operation records of the elderly driver's driving aptitude test in the city bus using the Transport Workers Management System and the Digital Tachograph Analysis System(eTAS). As a result of the analysis, the results of the driver aptitude test were similar when compared with the traffic company which has many bus drivers and the well - And it was confirmed that the average number of serious injuries and slight injuries in case of accidents was small. Comparing the number of dangerous driving behaviors per 100 km of driving, the elderly driver of the excellent company showed that the number of dangerous driving behaviors is considerably smaller than other elderly and non - elderly drivers, and that the result of correcting the wrong driving habits.

The Implementation Semi-Public Management System of Intra-City Bus brings improvements of the position stability, work environment and welfare of the bus drivers. As these benefits prevent drivers' job changes, average age of the drivers increases. Some side effects such as fatality increase after the implementation of the new system are becoming social problems. To minimize such problems, it is necessary to prepare the measurements reflected drivers' age increase and driving characteristics of old drivers to decrease traffic accidents of intra-city buses. The existing measurements are mostly simple policy. To get over such limitations, this study grasped driving characteristics by surveys and driving aptitude test targeting old drivers and non-old drivers who brings about traffic accidents actually. As a result, the characteristics of the old drivers were understood precisely. The measures of decrease of the traffic accidents are suggested by the analysis of the behavior characteristics of the old drivers through the structural equation model.
