21세기 탄두의 설계 요소 기술에 대한 개괄적 고찰

  • 초기의 화포는 운동에너지만으로 목표물을 파괴하는 탄자를 발사하였으나, 곧 사람들은 에너지를 발산하는 화약을 그 탄자 내에 충전시키고 목표물에 충격시 폭발하도록 해서, 그 목표물을 효과적으로 파괴하는 포탄을 발명하였다. 이러한 개념은 큰 변화 없이 현재까지 지속되어서 현대 전장에서 운용하는 화포, 로켓, 미사일용 탄두와 탄약에 적용되고 있다. 또한 사람이나 경장비, 전차 등을 살상하고 파괴하기 위해 소화기탄이나 전차포용 날개안정 철갑탄처럼 운동에너지만으로 목표물을 파괴하는 탄자가 계속 사용되고 있기도 한다.

  • 현재 우리나라가 보유하고 있는 전차는 주로 한국이 독자개발한 최신예 88전차와 M48전차로 구성되어 있다. 북괴에 대한 기갑전력의 열세를 만회하기 위해서는 북괴 대전차 무기체계를 분석하여 이에 효과적으로 대응할수 있는 방안을 찾아야 할 것이며, 이는 88전차와 M48계열 전차의 적절한 전투가치 향상사업으로 집약될 것이다. 특히 M48 계열 전차의 장갑 보강을 위해 덧붙임장갑(Add-on Armour)의 장착이 필수적이며, 화학에너지탄뿐 아니라 운동에너지탄으로부터의 방호를 위해 Hybrid 덧붙임장갑을 장착해야 될 것이다

A Numerical Study on the Flash Fire in the Combat System by the Kinetic Energy Ammunition and the Loaded Shells (운동에너지 탄과 적재포탄에 따른 전투시스템 내부에서의 순간화재발생에 대한 전산해석)

  • In this paper, numerical analysis was performed about whether the flash fire of loaded shells breaks out in the virtual combat vehicle according to sorts of the kinetic energy ammunition as the preceding research for vulnerability analysis inside the combat system by an external threaty ammunition. In this simulation, Autodyn program was used and the Lee-Tarver ignition and growth model was used to determine the flash fire outbreak. In this study, the kinetic energy ammunition was set of type A and type B in two kinds and the loaded shells was set of COMPB, TNT, PBX9404 and ANB. As a result, TNT and PBX9404 have much higher flash fire probability than COMPB in high explosive, ANB has very low flash fire probability.

  • In this study, to improve the ballistic efficiency of very brilliant alumina-silica armor material, forming press and sintering temperature were changed. After physical/mechanical measurement, we measured ballistic properties about KE(Kinetic Energy, L/D=10.7, tungsten heavy alloy) and HEAT(High Explosive Anti-Tank, K215) projectiles and analyzed them. As a result, in $1235^{\circ}C$, it appeared the highest ballistic efficiency about HEAT and it improved $22\%$ ballistic efficiency, better than invented alumina-silica armor material before.

  • Kinetic energy(KE) rod warhead system is a new interceptor which combines advantages of existing ones. This system is less dependant on a precision guidance than direct hit type warhead and gives high penetration rates than blast fragmentation type warhead. In this paper, isotropic KE rod warhead system is introduced with detonation/deployment model. A penetration effects of the deployed rods are calculated using TATE penetration equation. Also, an engagement performance analysis method is suggested. Finally, an optimal detonation time and engagement geometry is derived by Monte-Carlo simulation in various engagement situation using the performance analysis factor.

The relation between physical/mechanical properties md ballistic properties in several engineering ceramics (세라믹스의 물리/기계적 물성과 방탄물성과의 상관관계 연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed the relation between physical/mechanical properties and ballistic properties for several engineering ceramics that were expected to use as armor material. After physical/mechanical measurement, we measured ballistic properties about KE(Kinetic Energy, L/D=10.7, tungsten heavy alloy) and HEAT(High Explosive Anti-Tank, K215) projectiles. Increasing Young's modulus/density, hardness/density and flexural strength/density ratios, ballistic properties were generally increased. Especially it appeared that the ballistic property about KE projectile was lineally increased, as HEL/density ratio increased.

  • In this study, we tried to invent ceramic armor material with brilliant ballistic properties by the silica of the high compression-expansion ratio and based on alumina that has the most economical and higher ballistic efficiency. After we choose three compositions, proper sintering temperature for each composition was decided. After physical/mechanical measurement, we measured ballistic properties about KE(Kinetic Energy, L/D=10.7, tungsten heavy alloy) and HEAT(High Explosive Anti-Tank, K215) projectiles. As a result, $46\%\;Al_2O_3\;-\;51\%\;SiO_2$ of three compositions had the highest ballistic efficiency md better properties than alumina.
