체중 43kg의 10개월령 암컷 로토와일러가 약 2개월전부터 점진적으로 진행된 좌측후지의 심한 파행 병력으로내원하였다. 신체검사와 고관절 탈구를 진단하였으며 골반의 외측 및 복배측 방사선 사진 촬영으로 확진할 수 있었다. 전배측 접근 후 골수내정으로 제작한 한 개의 toggle pin 및 두 개의 bone screw를 병용 적용하여 대퇴골두를 고정하였다. 일차교정은 술후 7일의 재탈구로 실패하였으며 동일 방법으로 이차 시술한 후 Ehner sling을 적용하고 운동을 제한하였다. 술후 20일에 환축은 거의 정상보행을 회복하였다.

In this study, to improve the ballistic efficiency of very brilliant alumina-silica armor material, forming press and sintering temperature were changed. After physical/mechanical measurement, we measured ballistic properties about KE(Kinetic Energy, L/D=10.7, tungsten heavy alloy) and HEAT(High Explosive Anti-Tank, K215) projectiles and analyzed them. As a result, in $1235^{\circ}C$, it appeared the highest ballistic efficiency about HEAT and it improved $22\%$ ballistic efficiency, better than invented alumina-silica armor material before.

가변구조 제어시스템(variable structure control system)을 위해 제안된 기존의 대부분 슬라이딩 서피스 (sliding surface)는 주어진 초기조건과 무관하게 설계되었으며, 서피스 계수 또는 임의로 설정되었다. 이러한 서피스를 갖는 제어시스템은 슬라이딩 운동이 일어나기 전까지 외란등에 매우 민감하며 또한 느린 추적시간 (tracking time)을 초래한다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 본 연구에서는 임의로 주어진 초기조건을 항상지나 며 시간에 따라 기울기 및 절편이 변하는 새로운 슬라이딩 서피스를 설계하였다. 이 서피스와 연계된 제어시스 템의 슬라이딩 모드(sliding mode) 존재성을 증명하였고, 서피스의 움직임 절차를 상세히 기술하였다. 2차 선형 시스템과 2자유도계 로봇의 추적제어를 통해 제안된 방법의 효율성과 우수성을 입증하였다.

Evaluation of soy milk as an iron-rich milk substitute was conducted by feeding commercial soy milk , cow milk and mixed formula(soy and cow milk) to Wistar rats for 8 weeks. Body weight gains were significantly lower in the soy milk and mixed formula groups. Hematocrit, serum iron concentration and TIBC (total iron binding capacity) were measured to determine the iron status of the rats. In these respects, the iron status of the soy milk group was normal. Both serum iron concentration and TIBC as well as hematocrit were abnormal in the cow milk group , which is indictive of severe iron deficiency . Although hematocrit was normal in the mixed formula group, serum iron concentration was lightly low. The work capacities of each group were correlated with serum iron concentration and tIBC rather than hematocrit. The running distance of the soy milk group was about 10 -fold longer than that of the cow milk group. Soy milk may be considered an iron- rich substitute for cow milk due to its higher iron content and bioavailability.

The vibration analysis of a rotating cantilever beam made-up of functionally graded materials is presented based on Timoshenko beam theory. The material properties of the beams are assumed to be varied through the thickness direction following a simple power-law form. The frequency equations, which are coupled through gyroscopic coupling terms, are calculated using hybrid deformation variable modeling along with the Rayleigh-Ritz assumed mode methods. In this study, resulting system of ordinary differential equations shows the effects of power-law exponent, angular speed, length to height ratio and Young's modulus ratio. It is believed that the results will be a reference with which other researchers and commercial FE analysis program, ANSYS can compare their results.

본 연구에서는 개수로 흐름에서의 오염물질 거동 특성에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 위해 개수로 흐름을 등류상태로 가정하여 3차원의 수직모형을 구성하고 운동량 방정식과 스칼라 수송방정식에서의 난류 폐합을 위해 레이놀즈응력 모형 및 GGDH 모형을 사용하였다. 개발된 모형을 이용하여 복단면 수로에서 오염물질이 점으로 주입된 경우에 대해 난류 흐름 및 오염물질의 농도 분포를 수치모의 하고 기존의 실험 데이터와 비교하였다. 그 결과 개발된 모형이 개수로 흐름에서의 평균유속 및 난류구조, 오염물질의 농도 분포 등을 잘 모의하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 이차흐름의 영향으로 인해 최대 농도 값의 위치가 거리에 따라 이동하는 것으로 나타났으며, 농도 분포 역시 정규분포에서 거리에 따라 점차 왜곡되는 것으로 확인되었다.

재단법인 인촌기념회는 제20회 인촌상 수상자를 발표하고 지난 11일 시상식을 가졌다. 본지는 공공봉사부문을 수상한 대전 평화의 마을에서 김종태 원장을 만나 수상 소감과 함께 원로 사회복지사로서 느끼는 현 사회복지계에 대한 진솔한 이야기를 들어보았다. 김종태 원장은 중앙신학교(현 강남대학교) 사회사업과를 다니다 1957년 고 함석헌 옹이 운영하는 씨알농장에서 공동체 운동을 시작했다. 그는 1967년 홀트아동복지회 일산복지타운 원장을 지내다 1987년부터 아동생활시설인 대전 평화의 마을을 운영하고 있다. 1990년 미국 사우스캐롤라이나대 대학원에서 사회사업복지 과정을 공부하기도 한 김종태 회장은 40년 동안 봉사활동만을 하며 생활시설의 새로운 패러다임을 도입해 전국으로 전파한 공을 인정받아 인촌상 수상자로 선정되었다.

하천 공학에 있어서 제방 월류에 대한 분석과 예측은 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래에도 치수측면에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 이를 위해 복단면 수로의 단면을 세분하여 유량과 수위의 관계를 분석하여 왔으며, 최근에는 Lateral Distribution Method라 불리는 수치기법을 이용하여 주수로와 홍수터 사이에서의 난류특성이나 운동량 교환 등을 분석하기도 한다. 하지만 기존의 연구들은 제방을 넘어 월류한 경우의 흐름 특성에만 치중하고 있으며, 주수로 내에서의 흐름특성에 관한 연구는 미진하다. 하천은 표면 유출수와 지하로부터 제공되는 기저유출수로 구성되며, 주변 수리 수문 조건에 따라 그리고 물수지 변화에 따라 유출수와 기저유출수가 하천에 기여하는 바는 변화된다. 기저유출은 지표수의 양과 질에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있으며, 기저유출 특성은 수자원 관리를 위한 저수량(low-flow) 특성 평가에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기저유출수 분리기법을 적용하여 단면관측 유량곡선으로부터 기저유출량을 산정하고, 또한 해당단면에 LDM기법을 적용하여 복잡한 형상을 이루고 있는 자연하천의 횡단면에서의 수위-유량 곡선을 실제 측정치와 비교하여, 기저유출이 하천에 미치는 영향과 정량적인 양에 대해서 알아보고자 한다.

Exercise is beneficial to the diabetic patients and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat has been used for the study of exercise effect. The purpose of this study was to establish the optimal condition of induction of hyperglycemic diabetic rat using streptozotocin and to examine the preventive effect of treadmill exercise on the diabetic rat before and after streptozotocin injection. Intraperitoneal injection of increasing amount of streptozotocin up to 40 mg/kg dose-responsively induce hyperglycemic diabetic rat and inversely reduced the blood insulin level. Body weight was also gradually reduced with the increasing amount of streptozotocin. Control and diabetic rats exercised for 4 weeks before streptozotocin injection. The exercise was performed in the treadmill for 25 minutes a day and 5 times a week with low intensity (0 degree tilt, 15 m/min velocity). Following streptozotocin injection, the blood glucose level was measured every week and the rat was sacrificed after 4 weeks to measure the concentration of insulin and blood lipids. The blood levels of glucose and insulin was significantly reduced with exercise before streptozotocin injection, while those were not changed after streptozotocin injection. The levels of blood lipids such as total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglyceride were close to normal control rats. From this study, researchers found the optimal condition of preparation of streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemic diabetic rat, and the mild treadmill exercise has beneficial effect on preventing hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia. Thus, even low intensive running prevent not only diabetes but also diabetic vascular complications.
