This study gropes for the way to seek a desirable leader increase the efficiency of the mail service in the post service administration. That is to say, this study presents an appropriate leadership for the enhancement of the post service administration by investigating the relationship of the leadership to the organizational commitment and job satisfaction in the post service organization. Consequently, for the mail business organization, the selling leadership and the participating leadership show strong positive (+) interrelationship with the organizational commitment, but weak positive (+) interrelationship with job satisfaction. On the other hand, the telling leadership and the delegating leadership show weak negative (-) interrelationship with the former. Here, we can learn that the selling leadership and participating leadership are more effective on the mail business organization.

In order to automate the process of mail sorting by delivery sequence, it is necessary to prepare a postal address database and to interpret written addresses on the mail-pieces with the database and OCR technology. The address database is a critical factor of automation and informatization of postal service since it could be used not only in address recognition but also in various mail processing. In this study, we design the schema of postal address database, design the postal address file based on it and explain the method of address interpretation and retrieval using it. We analyze infonnation requirements for transformation of postal address into the standardized format and consider them in the process of design. The postal address file can be used by address matching or retrieval system as well as by Hangul address recognition system for automation of delivery sequence mail-sorting.

In this paper, related on the postal business with the GIS(Geographics Information System), it discusses design and implementation of the PROS(Postal Route Optimization System) model and its main module, the shortest path generation algorithm, for supporting to postal route managements. It explains examples requirements of postal route system, and suggests the efficient PROS model using our developed shortest path generation algorithm. Because the shortest path algorithm adopts not only consider the Dijkstra algorithm of graph theory, but also the method with the direction property, PROS can be implemented with fast and efficient route search. PROS is mainly constituted of the Shortest Generator, the Isochronal Area Generator, and the Path Rearrangement Generator. It also exploits the GIS engine and the spatial DBMS (Data Base Management System) for processing coordinates in the map and geographical features. PROS can be used in the management of postal delivery business and delivery area and route, and in the rearrangement of route. In the near future, it can be also applied to commercial delivery businesses, guides of routs and traffic informations, and auto navigation system with GPS(Global Positioning System).

Due to the need for multilingual e-mail address, EAI Working Group of the IETF has created a wide range of standards associated with e-mail address internationalization(EAI) since 2006. One of the authors and colleagues designed and implemented the mail server, SMTPUTF8, that supports EAI RFC protocols. SMTPUTF8 mail server is composed of new SMTP and POP3 servers supporting EAI RFC protocols. However, SMTPUTF8 did not include a new IMAP server supporting EAI RFC protocol. Recently many people are using smart phones to read and send e-mail messages in a mobile environment. IMAP server is more useful than POP3 server in a mobile environment. Therefore, in this paper, the authors have designed and implemented IMAP server and client app that complies with the IMAP standard (RFC) published by EAI WG of IETF to support multilingual e-mail address. This IMAP server is added to the SMTPUTF8 mail server so that users can access e-mail messages via IMAP client app in a mobile environment.

정보통신의 급속한 발전은 유무선 네트워크 및 컴퓨팅 환경에 대한 다양한 서비스를 제공하고 있다 이중 가장 전자우편 서비스와 관련하여 현실적인 보안 취약성을 보완하기 위한 여러 가지 보안 서비스가 개발되고 제공되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 대표적인 전자우편 서비스인 PGP, PGP/MIME, OpenPGP에 대한 표준화에 대해 분석하고, 전자우편 서비스를 국내에 적용하기 위한 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다.

우편물을 배달순서대로 정렬하는 과정을 순로구분이라고 하는데, 우편물의 처리과정에서 가장 많은 시간이 소요되는 부분이 바로 이 순로구분 과정이다. 우정선진국의 순로구분 자동화 시스템은 바코드를 이용하여 순로구분를 자동으로 처리하고 있지만, 국내의 시스템은 순로구분의 전 단계까지만 수행하고 나머지 과정은 배달원이 자신의 경험에 의해 수작업으로 처리하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 우편물을 자동 검증하는 방법으로 바코드 대신에 우편영상 특징기반의 Virtual ID 사용을 위한 유사한 우편영상 추출방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 질의영상과 후보영상간의 유사성을 판별할 때, 각 영상의 수취인 영역에서 추출된 문자열 Bounding Box들의 대응되는 쌍을 결정하고 그 쌍들의 영역이 겹치는 정도를 유사도로 측정하는 방법이다 291개의 우편영상에 대하여 실험한 결과, 289개의 영상이 정상적으로 유사한 우편영상으로 추출되었다. 또한, 유사한 우편영상으로 추출된 영상의 평균개수는 3.78개로 비교적 높게 나왔지만 이는 실험 데이터에 동일 DM 발송 우편물이 연속적으로 위치한 경우가 많았기 때문이다.

인터넷 사용의 증가는 의사소통 매체의 하나로 전자우편(e-mail)을 일반화되게 땠다. 전자우편은 개인적인 목적 뿐만 아니라, 광고, 판매, 서비스 흑은 제품구입 관련문의 등의 특정목적에 이용되고 있는 추세이므로 한꺼번에 많은 메일을 처리 및 관리하기 위해서는 전자우편문서의 자동분류가 필요하다. 전자우편문서는 일반문서와는 달리 반구조적(semi-structure)구성, 특수문자, 약어 및 속어 등의 특징들이 있으므로 이러한 특성들은 자동분류의 정확도에 영향을 기치는 요인이 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 분류 성능을 향상 시키기 위해 자동분류의 오류가 될 수 있는 특성들을 제거하고, 구조적인 특징을 활용한 분류기의 전처리기를 설계한 방법론을 제시하고자 한다

우편물류 소통계획은 집배센터, 집중국, 교환센터로 구성된 물류체계에서 각 물류거점에서의 수집마감시간, 이동시작시간, 이동횟수 등을 결정하는 계획이다. 본 연구에서는 우편물 종류별 처리기준, 물류거점간 운행시간, 수송단위 등을 고려하여 각 물류거점에서의 수집마감시간, 이동시작시간과 이동횟수에 대한 가능한 한 대안을 송달기준 만족도와 서비스 처리시간의 평가지표로 대안평가할 수 있는 우편물류 소통계획 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 우편물류 소통계획 시뮬레이터는 Visual C++로 작성되었으며, 가능한 우편물류 소통계획 대안들에 대하여 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 시나리오 분석을 실시하였다.

우편물 자동구분 처리의 범위를 확장시키기 위하여 집배원의 배달순서로 구분하기 위한 방법이 요구된다. 이는 우편 자동구분처리를 위하여 우편봉투에 인쇄된 주소 및 우편번호를 인식하고 이에 대응하는 자동구분정보를 우편물상에 바코드 인쇄하고 판독하여 구분하게 된다. 또한, 다량우편 이용자들에 의하여 우편물 상에 고객 바코드가 사전에 인쇄된 경우에는 바코드를 판독하여 구분한다. 본 논문에서는 우편물 자동구분 처리를 위하여 적용될 4-state 바코드에 정보수록 밀도를 향상시키기 위한 방법을 적용한 것이다. 시험 결과에 의하면, 4-state 바코드의 정보수록밀도는 기존의 16.67% 보다 약 27.79% 향상시킬 수 있었다.

현재 우편 처리용 바코드는 광학문자판독기에 의해 판독된 우편번호를 3 of 5 형광 바코드로 인쇄하고, 판독하여 우편물을 자동구분 처리하는 LSM(Letter Sorting Machine)을 사용하고 있다. 광학문자판독에 의한 인쇄체 문자 인식율은 94~96%정도로 처리되므로 오류 우편물의 최소화를 위하여 LSM에 형광 바코드와 동일한 체계로 구성된 흑색 바코드를 적용하고, 광학문자판독을 하지 않고도 우편물을 자동처리할 수 있는 체계를 구축하고 있다. 우편고객이 흑색 바코드를 우편물에 사전에 인쇄하여 접수하도록 하여 공학문자판독에 의한 처리 과정 축소함으로써, 보다 효과적인 우편 배달 서비스를 제공하기 위한 노력을 시도하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 우편 고객이 인쇄한 3 of 5 고객 바코드를 사전에 검사하여 우편물 자동처리를 보다 효과적으로 수행될 수 있도록 하기 위한 방법을 제고하는 고객 바코드 검증 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대한 것이다.
